E145 Miles Doleac Talks Ancient Times In the Lounge!

We go to the classroom for this week's show!
Ancient history is the subject, and the Ancient Roman Empire puts a finer point to it!

The last time Miles Doleac was with us, he brought along the Magnificent Jeremy London to talk about their film Demigod. This time, he returns to the Lounge, and this time is to show off his doctorate in ancient history!

A few weeks back the History Channel shows, "Colosseum" & "Crazy Rich Ancients" were mentioned, and Sam remembered Miles was the guy to talk ancient history, so we booked him!

We talk about the emperors of the Roman Empire, and how Julius Caesar ranks in the list of rulers. Who was the worst Roman Emperor? Miles not only gives a list of possibilities but also gives excellent reasoning as to why.

Was Shakespeare's play "Julius Caesar," close to how things actually played out in history? We talk about Mark Antony, Cleopatra, and Octavius (later known as Augustus). We get into it!
Sam took notes on things Miles covered (he's not a real big note-taker that often), so he can go back and dive into things!

What's he doing next? He talked about his new movie, "Open," which the release date has not yet been determined (as of 9/6/2022), but will feature Jeremy London, and William Forsythe, among others!

Before we signed off, we had to ask him about how he thinks his NFL team of choice will do, this season...? He knows football, too! We chat about our thoughts on the upcoming season.
All-in-all, this was a great time!
