'Sing It to Your Man': Paul McCartney on the Wedding Request, a Surprise SNL Cameo With a Birthday Cake, Travis Kelce Turns 37 at 4-0
Paul McCartney has finally told the story of performing at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, he said Swift asked him personally — and asked for "I Want to Hold Your Hand," which he hadn't played live since 1964. She was onstage with him, and he told her: you should sing along, and you should sing it to your man. Lyla also has Taylor's surprise SNL cameo for Dakota Johnson, the extended cut of "Patient Zero," and a very good birthday weekend in Kansas City.

03 Calaroga Shark Media. Hey, everyone. I'm Lila, and welcome back to Taylor Swift Today. You might think that after making VMA History, Taylor would take a little breather. You would be wrong. This week, she crashed one of the most famous stages in comedy, dropped an extended cut of her brand-new short film, celebrated her husband's birthday, and now she's in the middle of a new movie. And a literal Beatle spilled one of the sweetest secrets yet from her wedding. For a supposedly quiet week, there is a lot of love here. So let's get into it. Let's start with the moment that had everyone grinning because Taylor made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live. Now, she was not the musical guest and she was not the host. She popped up as a special cameo for her good friend Dakota Johnson, who was hosting the show for the third time right on the eve of her own birthday. And if you have been listening, you know exactly why these two are so tight right now, because Dakota just co-starred in Taylor's Patient Zero music video. So this was Taylor returning the favor in the most delightful way. During Dakota's opening monologue, Dakota joked that Taylor is basically her, quote, literal therapist.
19 And that is when Taylor strolled out on stage to the sound of the entire studio audience losing their minds. Taylor played along teasing that she is not actually Dakota's therapist. Dakota just likes to overshare on her couch while Taylor nods along and says things like, damn, that's crazy. It was warm and silly and clearly came from a place of real friendship. And then at the very end of the night, during the good nights, when the whole cast comes out to wave, Taylor walked back on stage carrying a big birthday cake for Dakota and A pop superstar moonlighting as a birthday fairy. It does not get much sweeter than that. These two have become such a fun pairing and watching them goof around together was a genuine highlight.
03 And that SNL visit was perfectly timed because it came the very same weekend Taylor gave fans even more of the project that connects them. If you loved the Patient Zero music video that premiered at the VMAs, I have good news. Taylor released an extended eight-minute version of it available on Apple Music, which adds a bunch of behind-the-scenes making-of footage to the original. And can we just talk about how ambitious this whole thing is? Taylor directed it herself, and the video plays like a genuine short film. It stars Dakota Johnson and the Oscar-nominated Colin Farrell as a wealthy couple whose marriage is quietly falling apart, with Taylor appearing almost.
46 Like a ghostly, spectral figure moving through their story. She shot it with Emanuel Lubezki, one of the most awarded cinematographers in the world. So this is not a quick pop video. It is a serious piece of filmmaking. And the fact that she put out an extended cut tells you how proud she is of it and how much she wants fans to see the craft that went into it. Our girl is a bona fide director now, and she is leaning all the way in. When we come back, a very happy birthday for a certain chief's tight end and the. Gorgeous wedding secret a beetle just revealed. Stay with me.
36 Welcome back. So while Taylor was busy conquering comedy and cinema, she also made time for the most important thing, her husband. Because this week, Travis Kelsey celebrated his birthday. He turned 37. And the two of them kept it refreshingly low-key, stepping out for a cozy dinner date in New York City at one of Travis's favorite spots, an Italian restaurant called Taurasi. Fans, of course, noticed that the two of them showed up in beautifully coordinated outfits because at this point, matching looks are practically their love language. And here's the funny thing. Travis admitted on his New Heights podcast that he is, in his own words, not a big birthday guy. He said he did not even have a birthday cake, although he was quick to add that the restaurant.
24 Brought out an incredible spread of desserts. Including some fancy espresso shaved ice situation that he described as weird but nice. But the best birthday present of all? It was not anything money could buy. Travis said the greatest gift he got was a win because the day before his birthday, the Chiefs beat the Las Vegas Raiders, pushing their record to a perfect 4-0 on the season. That is right, as they head into their bye week for a little rest... Kansas City is undefeated. Travis sounded genuinely thrilled about it, saying he is excited about where this team could go. So Taylor's good luck charm reputation is holding strong. During the bye, Travis says he is just going to work out, watch some playoff baseball and relax before the Chiefs return to action against the Los Angeles Chargers on the 18th. A perfect birthday, a perfect record, and his pop superstar wife by his side, not a bad way to turn 37. Now, for the detail that made my whole heart melt this week, we finally got a beautiful behind-the-scenes story from the wedding, and it came from none other than Sir Paul McCartney, the Beatles legend who you will remember performed at Taylor and Travis's wedding back in July, went on Jimmy Kimmel's show and shared the loveliest moment. He revealed that Taylor had personally asked him to perform the classic Beatles song, I Want to Hold Your Hand, at the reception. And get this, Paul said he had not performed that particular song live in
56 60 years. 60 years. He dusted off a piece of music history just for her wedding. But the sweetest part is what he said to Taylor before he played it. He told her that she should not just listen, she should sing along. and that she should sing it directly to her new husband, to Travis. Can you imagine. Being serenaded by a Beatle on your wedding night and having him gently encourage you to turn and sing a timeless love song straight to the person you just married? Paul and Taylor have actually been friends for well over a decade, ever since they crossed paths years ago, and he has even become something of an honorary Chiefs fan through her. But that image, Taylor singing I Want to Hold Your Hand to Travis while Paul McCartney plays it for the first time in six decades, that might be the single most romantic wedding detail we have heard yet.
52 And trust me, we have. Heard a lot. And of course, you know the drill by now. The wedding dress, still somehow no official photos. We are now past the three-month mark. At this point, Taylor has shown us new music, a short film, an extended cut of that short film, and countless adorable date nights. But that one gown remains the best kept secret in pop culture. I have made my peace with it mostly. So there is your week. And for a slow one, it was packed with joy. Taylor played Birthday Fairy on SNL, doubled down on her filmmaking, celebrated her husband and his undefeated team, and got serenaded by a Beatle who pulled out a 60-year-old song just for her. That is a pretty wonderful stretch of life.
42 That is our show. I'm Lila. Go watch that Extended. Patient Zero video if you can, and then come leave me a comment on Spotify and tell me which was your favorite moment this week. The SNL cake?
