Welcome to Synth Pop Symphony. You're listening to show 309. This is part two of our end of year spectacular. I'm Matt Williams. Last week we dove into the first half of 2025. Tonight is all about the second half of the year. The songs that carried us through the back end of 2025 and lit up the dance floors and kept finding their way back into our weekly shows. These tracks are being recognized because they connected through your reactions and your replays on our broadcasts. Sometimes I joke about a system called the Synth 2000 putting this all together. But honestly, this is just my personal take on the best of the best of 2025. It's not perfect, and I'm sure I left out a song or two, but if your music made it onto Scent Pop Symphony, it stood out from nearly 10,000 songs uploaded to Bandcamp every single day, as well as 100,000 songs uploaded to Spotify. That's a massive amount of music. So congratulations to the artists featured tonight, and just as importantly, to the countless artists who send us music every single week. We kick things off with Tel Aviv producer DeSoper and his incredible take on Blue Monday by New Order, a remake that became one of the most replayed moments of the show this year. From there, we move into the PESH mode's Survive, a surprise new song from the band in 2025, reimagined by a resident DJ TSF. And to close out the set, we head straight into Italo Disco territory with Savage and Dancing in the Dark, a track that perfectly captured that modern Italo energy in 2025. And then we closed the set out with fragrance, finishing things off with a progressive acid house-inspired finale that fell straight out of the 90s club scene, Dark Synth done right, right here on Scent Pop Symphony.

First time, and the number two entry on this year's chart is Alice and Goldfrack with sound and light from an incredible album released this half August. And we wrap things up with Nuevo Testamento and picture perfect pushing those classic 80s freestyle vibes forward with a modern and artist who has been a standout not just with his own releases, but also through his remix work.

Set from artists who really made their mark in 2025. We started with Propter Hawk, whose post-punk and dark wave influences really were impossible to miss this year. With Wounded Healer as my personal pick, we also heard this remix of Missing Out by Strange Futures, also remixed by Propter Hawk. And we wrap things up with Xmarks of Headwalk and Very Me, a slick melodic dark scene track that absolutely earned its place among the best of 2025. Now we shift gears into something more romantic, nostalgic, and unmistakably Italo. A few artists capture that timeless emotional Italo Disco feeling. Quite like Sally Shapiro. And this year she gave us 13 lives together. A track filled with warmth, longing, and that classic late-night italo mood. And we're gonna follow that up with Italo Connection with Like a Star, which is a modern Italo Disco track with classic roots, glowing melodies, and a sound that feels tailor-made for an end of year moment. This is the cinematic side of the dance floor, it allo disco done right, right here on Sinpop Symphony.
