Organizing episodes with Categories

When your episode library grows, a single long list gets overwhelming. Categories group your episodes by topic so listeners can quickly find the content they care about.

How categories work

  • Starter list from your feed: Podpage pulls an initial category list from your podcast feed, and you can edit it to match your show's themes.
  • A page for every category: Each category automatically gets its own page listing all the episodes in it.
  • Sidebar navigation: Categories appear in your website's sidebar so visitors can jump straight to a topic.
  • Related episodes: Podpage uses categories to recommend similar episodes on each episode page, keeping listeners exploring your content.

How to manage your categories

  1. In your dashboard, go to Episodes → Categories.
  2. Add, rename, or delete categories to fit your show's topics.

How to assign an episode to categories

  1. Go to Episodes → All Episodes and open the episode.
  2. In the Categories section, select the categories the episode fits in.
  3. Click Save.

Tip: Have a big back catalog? The Assistant → Categorize Backlog tool can help you assign categories to older episodes quickly.
