Promotional Popups put a clear call to action in front of your website visitors — collect email addresses, promote a book or event, or run a popup from your own provider.
Available on the Pro plan and above.
How to set up a popup
- In your dashboard, go to Design → Promotional Popups.
- Under What kind of popup modal do you want?, choose one of the three popup types below.
- Fill in the fields for your chosen type, then click Save.
Popup to collect email addresses
- Popup Image — shows at the top of the popup. A horizontal image fits best on most screens.
- Email capture message — a short, compelling reason to join your list.
- Email capture disclaimer — optional; by default it says "By signing up, you agree to receive email from this podcast."
- Email capture button label — optional; the default is "Subscribe."
Popup to promote something
- Popup Image — shows at the top of the popup.
- Message — what you're promoting.
- Button Text — the label on the popup's button.
- Button Link — optional; the button opens this link in a new page. Leave it blank and the button simply closes the popup.
Use your own custom popup code
Paste code from your mailing list or promotional provider into Custom Popup Code. Make sure the code is for a "modal" or "popup" style form.
Controlling when the popup appears
Two settings apply to every popup type:
- Show popup to visitors after how many seconds? — the delay before the popup appears.
- How often should a visitor see this? — how many days before the same visitor sees it again. Set it to 0 to show it on every visit.
Tip: A 5–10 second delay with a 15-day frequency keeps the popup effective without annoying regular listeners.
