You can make individual words in any heading on your site appear in a different color — just wrap them in asterisks. If your homepage title is Founders *in* Arms, the word "in" renders in your highlight color while the rest keeps your normal heading color.
This works anywhere text renders as a heading: your homepage title, section headings, page titles, and more.
How to highlight a word
- Open any dashboard text field that renders as a heading on your site (for example, your homepage title).
- Wrap the word or words you want highlighted in a single asterisk on each side:
The *Best* Podcast About Tech. - Click Save. On your live site, "Best" now appears in your highlight color.
You can highlight more than one word: The *Best* Podcast About *Tech* highlights both "Best" and "Tech."
Choosing a highlight color
Highlighted words use your primary color by default. To pick a different one:
- In your dashboard, go to Design → Colors, Fonts, Layout.
- In the Colors section, find Highlight Color under Titles / Headings. (The same field also appears in the Fonts & Text section's advanced settings.)
- Pick your color and click Save.
Leave Highlight Color empty and your primary color is used automatically.
Tip: Highlight one or two words per heading at most, and make sure the color contrasts well with your background so the text stays readable.
