The Star Trek Universe Returns to Hall H at SDCC
And It’s Bringing Some Serious Firepower
San Diego Comic-Con is almost here, and if you're like us, your warp core is running hot with anticipation. Why? Because Paramount just confirmed that Star Trek is beaming back into Hall H with an absolutely stacked Star Trek Universe panel, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest events of the entire weekend.
Set your phasers for Saturday, July 26th from 12:30–2:00 PM PT, because that’s when fans will get an exclusive, back-to-back look at two cornerstones of Trek’s future: the fan-favorite Strange New Worlds and the highly anticipated Starfleet Academy. And if that wasn’t enough to make you sprint to the Hall H line, the whole thing will be moderated by the Doctor himself, Robert Picardo.
Let’s talk about what’s coming.

Our beloved crew of the Enterprise is back to talk about what’s ahead for Strange New Worlds. Fresh off of a genre-bending second season that gave us everything from Kirk drama to Klingon musicals (and yes, we’re still not over “Subspace Rhapsody”), the SNW team is touching down with some of the show's biggest names.
Scheduled to appear are:
-
Rebecca Romijn (Una Chin-Riley)
-
Ethan Peck (Spock)
-
Jess Bush (Nurse Chapel)
-
Christina Chong (La’an Noonien-Singh)
-
Paul Wesley (James T. Kirk)
They’ll be joined by executive producers and co-showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers, along with the architect of the modern Trek era, Alex Kurtzman. Whether you’re hoping for updates on Season 4, which is currently filming (season three will have just aired its third episode) or just want to relive the glory of that Lower Decks crossover, this is the place to be.
Starfleet Academy
But wait, there’s more! This panel is also our first real look at Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, the upcoming series that’s set to boldly go where Trek has rarely gone before: the lives of cadets as they begin their Starfleet journeys.
The cast lineup is already giving us high hopes:
-
Holly Hunter (leading the charge as the Academy’s chancellor)
-
Sandro Rosta
-
Karim Diané
-
Kerrice Brooks
-
George Hawkins
-
Bella Shepard
They’ll be joined by co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau, who are ready to unveil some first looks, juicy reveals, and fingers crossed, a trailer or two. With a cast this fresh and a concept this ripe, we’re expecting a series that mixes classic Trek values with a new generational lens.
Surprises? You Know It.
Paramount has also promised exclusive reveals and surprises during the 90-minute session, which, let’s be real, could mean anything. Surprise guests? New series announcements? Nothing’s off the table, and with Picardo moderating, we’re sure to get some heartfelt moments and deep Trek lore love.
Bottom line: if you're going to SDCC this year, Hall H at 12:30 PM on Saturday is non-negotiable. And if you're watching from home? Set your sensors to “refresh” and keep your eye on SNP's social media because the future of Star Trek is about to unfold in real time.
We’ll see you in line. 🖖
