0:00 Sri Robindo makes a key distinction that clears up much potential confusion about the nature and action of the psychic being. The psychic being is a direct expression of the soul and maintains thereby the direct connection with the Divine. It cannot be harmed or polluted by any actions of the external being it is utilizing. At the same time, when it exerts itself to act upon the mind, life and body, there are several factors that can limit the effectiveness of that action. The 1st is the current level of development and strength of the psychic being in this present incarnation. The second is the limitation imposed by the mind, the life force and the body, both as to their structural limitations and their developmental limitations.
0:56 As it gains experience and strength over time, it can turn the external being towards the divine and even overcome, at least partially, the structural limitations of the external instruments. At a certain point, however, a more comprehensive transformation of the outer nature becomes the only way to ensure that the divine intention is expressed fully and completely in the outer action.
