Hey — I'm Alex. Let me tell you a thing or two about this show. Which, yes, is another true crime podcast (It's giving, "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking" except, "A True Crime Podcast? In 2025? Original").
Second Guess Everything was formed after the death of my previous podcast, Weird Distractions. After that show wrapped in 2024, I realized I wasn’t ready to leave podcasting behind. Weird Distractions was the first time I explored sharing my creativity in such a public place (aka the world wide web). I knew that I needed to take a break from Weird Distractions after almost four years of podcasting, but there were still so many topics I wanted to research, explore, and share - so Second Guess Everything was born.
That and I still had a podcast mic, so, why not jump back in.
This time around, I’m taking a more serious approach to storytelling. Similar to Weird Distractions, I’m still discussing the darker sides of humanity and life - from true crime and haunted places to overlooked moments in history - but I want to present them with more depth and care. That's my goal with Second Guess Everything.
To keep my sanity (questionable, at best), this podcast will run in seasons. Each season will focus on one central theme: for example, Season One will explore eight unsolved homicide cases. This structure helps me avoid burnout and hopefully deliver better, and more content overall. Some of the cases may be ones I have covered previously, but hopefully you will notice a different take on them this time around.
New episodes will drop Tuesday mornings starting October 2025. My hope is that as you listen, you’ll come to see how often the obvious answers aren’t actually so obvious - that we should question our assumptions. Maybe the husband didn’t do it. Maybe that missing person wasn’t just a runaway. Maybe not every old building is haunted, despite what spikey haired investigator on TV tells you.
