Omni Talk's Chris Walton and Anne Mezzenga get a live store demonstration of Tesco's new checkout-free store in the High Holborn neighborhood of London directly from the man responsible for the technology that powers the experience, Trigo Co-Founder and CEO Michael Gabay.
With Michael serving as their tour guide from start to finish, Chris and Anne go shopping for everything from croissants and refrigerated turkey to a nice bottle wine, and they, just like everyone else that now works and lives in High Holborn, don't spend a minute waiting in line while Michael shops.
The store is an impressive achievement and marks a significant milestone in the history of retailing.
The Tesco store is roughly 2,500 square feet and is the first fully retrofitted checkout-free shopping experience in the world, a claim that not even Amazon can make.
