Lou Paloma (Bruce McGill), a perpetually broke down-on-his-luck schemer, concocts a desperate insurance fraud scheme alongside his frustrated wife, Irene (Teri Garr). They convince Lou’s reluctant, strait-laced brother and coroner, Billy (Bruno Kirby), to help stage Lou's fake death so they can collect a massive payout. Directed by Michael J. Fox.

Promising medical researcher Marty Whitlock (Beau Bridges) sees his brilliant career instantly destroyed after his practical joker of a brother, Carl (Tony Goldwyn), pulls a cruel prank on him during an important demonstration. Years later, a bitter Marty invites Carl—now a successful surgeon—to his laboratory to test a controversial, experimental drug which keeps a patient's mind fully conscious long after their body appears completely dead. Directed by Stephen Hopkins.
