0:00 It's still real to me, damn it! What up, you! [Sings] Welcome, everybody! Welcome! To this week's this and this, so real a show, episode number 7 or 92 for April 17, 2025. This year, WrestleMania 41 weekend, preview and predictions edition of S-R-T-U. I am one after the show, I am Jeff Pack, joined every single week of my fellow St. Louis Dr. Dre Franklin, Dr. Dre for the 15th time.

0:44 This is our WrestleMania preview and predictions, my friend. And if I'm not mistaken, this might be the first time WrestleMania has landed on 420. Yeah, so... I don't know about you. Yeah, no more. I mean, seriously, like if you don't have Snoop and RVD on Night 2 of WrestleMania on 420, what are you guys actually doing, Hunter? Like, seriously, Paul LeVec, throw the California crowd, throw the Colorado crowd, a bone, and you gotta have some kind of antics and shenanigans for it. I mean, we're not bringing Matt Riddle back this week, so... But, you know... I'm assuming Travis Scott will be there.

1:24 You're a guy. I'm sure he'll punch somebody for real with the hardcore title in tow and basically the internet will crap all over him again. Yeah, so I would imagine that Travis Scott appearance his song "Feen" was been playing all the last couple of months. I'm sure Dr. Dre has an on repeat on his Android or iPhone. Dr. Dre asked me before we literally started recording and he said to me, "And maybe we could say this for the show is what he said." And he said, "Are you excited for the build?" And I said, "Dr. Dre, we gotta save this conversation for the show." So let's get right into it.

2:05 While it's still fresh in our minds, we will go through every match on the card for Night 1, Night 2. We'll take a look at "Stand in the Liver." We will look at the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025. And then we'll talk about what the headlines will be Monday morning, following WrestleMania 41 weekend. Dr. Dre, you asked me the question, am I as excited for this WrestleMania as I have been in years past? And I guess what is that time frame? What are we looking at? We look at the last three years, five years, the entire duration of the show, my life, what are we thinking about? I mean, we'll just keep it simple. I mean, I'm sure there are times when you were younger, that you were even more excited just because you're just a kid and you're just excited, amped up for the Gold Dust, Roddy Piper, Backlaw Brawl.

2:54 I don't know what it was for you, but I mean, there are times, let's just do it over the last, so this is like one-hutter's third WrestleMania, puts together fifth, fourth? This is, 39 would have been the first one, 39, 40, 41, so this will be his third. Okay, so do you want to, in the last five years? In the last five years, where does this go for being excited? That would be 37, right? 37, 38, 39, 40? Are we counting the pandemic one? Yeah, well, was that 1020, 1020, we're saying? Yeah, was pandemic 37? That was 36, 37 was the return fans for the first time.

3:35 So yeah, let's go, let's go from the return, like post-pandemic era. All right, I try to make this quick here, so 36, I was excited just because of like, how they got to do this in an empty warehouse room, and there was nothing else to watch, so I was excited for that. 37, the fans were back, I was excited for that. 38, I think I will compare it to how I feel about 41, and a lot of that was riding on the Stone Cold Steve Austin stuff because we really didn't know, which is funny, because Kevin Owens did an interview recently. I think it was with Chris Van Vellette, and he actually said they did not know what they were going to be doing until the morning of Russ, RussiMany38, which makes its sense now, because, yeah, because of everything that we saw.

4:21 39, I was excited, 40, I was excited, 41, 2B announced, so I would say, if I had, I would compare my excitement level to RussiMany38 because I've gone through the card, I looked at the builds, and I got to say, 40 is definitely the one that I was most excited for in the last race of times, that I wouldn't be shocked if we sit here next week and I go, that was a really good RussiManyap, but going into this, the build has been a B-, maybe a B, if I'm driving it, given it a letter grade, is that fair? I don't want to use the word mediocre, but it's been okay, but it's not been as exciting as it was say last year when they had the build with Rock, Raines, Rollins, Cody, etc.

5:14 Yeah, that's about right, and maybe because, like, you know, like last year you had Rock and Roman and Cody and Seth, and then you had them on Tune, you had both Cody and Roman and Seth working two nights, which was kind of cool. And then 40, you had, I'm assuming 39, you had Cody, Cody got to finish the story, you know, in the 38 he had Austin. So to me, maybe it's the lack of hydrama, I guess, like, I just don't feel like, I don't know, I guess, I mean, there still is some, like, I don't know who's going to win some of these matches, but there's not the pending shock value, like, what is going to happen with Owen's and Austin?

6:00 What's going to happen with Rock being of all? Are they going to have Cody finish the story and, like, there's none of those really, like, it's a little bit with the scene of stuff, but really the rest of the car is just, yeah, like, I'm with you. It's like a B minus to, like, a, you know, a B build. I don't know if I have the, this might be the least excited I've been since 37, maybe? Yeah, I think that's a fair estimation, I would say, is that, like, 37, I was excited because the crowd was back. Okay, the car itself, I was like, eh, it seems okay. That's where I'm kind of that with us now. I'm like, there's a couple things I'm super excited about, but then the rest of them is like, it should be fine.

6:43 Do we consider the tri- do we consider the WrestleMania trilogy? Do we consider 38, 39, 40 on the same wave like that is 17, 18, 19 right now? We've talked about this before. We really liked 38, really liked 39, really liked 40. Do we consider that to be a trilogy in WrestleMania or is it 39 and 40? And we're waiting to see where 41 is right now. Where do we stay on that? I think you kind of, I think almost by default of the Cody bloodline storyline, you almost have to group 39, 40 and 41. Even though Cody's wrestling Cena, you still have the rock as the tie-in factor from 40 to 41.

7:30 So, the way I used to do was just like, which three in a row did I like the best? So, yeah, like, the trilogy you spoke of, I loved 25, 26 and 27 also because Sean's last two matches and then the triple-H Undertaker match. So, those are high on my list also. I hate 27. That was the one in Atlanta where the rock was a host and it was Miz and Cena. Well, it was 24 Orden in Triple H. 24 was... Or is that Orden Undertaker? No, Orden Triple H was 25 and I was not a fan of 25.

8:10 Undertaker, Sean Michaels saved that mania. Yeah. That was a very, that was, they had to go on after that. Orden, I think it was it. Was it Orden Big Show Angle? And that was the one with the edge and Undertaker. It was Rick Flair's last one, WrestleMania 24. Can I tell you a funny story about 27 real quick? Sure. Yeah. So, I was really good friends for a period of time and I haven't spoken to him in a long time now. But when I was working in radio, I was good friends with Josh Matthews who was with TNA and I guess has recently ended up back in AEW. Josh is a great guy who just lost contact. There's no like falling out or anything like that. People get older, stuff like that and I remember hanging out with him on his birthday with his, him and his girlfriend before he got married to Madison Rain.

8:56 But I remember sitting down and telling him we were like shooting the shit about wrestling and this was like, a couple of weeks after he was fired by WWE. And we were talking and I said to him and it was the WrestleMania that he commented. I was like, listen, I gotta tell you man, I hated WrestleMania 27. And that was the one where it was like a career achievement for him. And I could just tell him his face like, that was like a career achievement for me and you hated that WrestleMania. But yeah, I told him to this face that the WrestleMania that you were, because Michael Colingieri and Lawler wrestled that one. Oh yeah. Yeah. And I was like, and then he got stunned by Steve Austin. I was like, well that was a career achievement.

9:40 Wow. Yeah. Like I, it's, yeah, like we, going off, like I think for me like because Sean is my favorite wrestler of all time, that those matches 24, 25, and 26 because, you know, yeah, the Sean Flair match was still iconic. And then, both taker, Sean matches were great. And then, like, that's still the emotion, like, and that's one thing I kind of look at. Like, you and I talked, you know, about, you know, one of our premier shows we might do a special, favorite WrestleMania cards. And for me, I just, I kind of go off like the emotion I remember from watching the show. And in 24, 25, and 26, rank really high for me because those are the last three of Sean Michaels.

10:23 So, but you know, it was just a 17, 18, 19, that's your triumvirate? Yeah, I think that's the best ones. That was like my, that was the attitude error. I would even say WrestleMania 2000, WrestleMania 16 was really good. WrestleMania 15 was really good. 14 was the catapult of Austin 316, but I think when you look at trilogies of WrestleMania 17, 18, 19, I think are the best. Yeah. I mean, 38, 39 is 40. If you group those three together, those are pretty good. It's up there with 17, 18, 19. But yeah, I just think right now, I don't know what it is.

11:04 And this Jeff, it could very well be that life, everything else going on in the real world, kind of has dampened my mood for WrestleMania. Maybe this year, I don't know what it is. I mean, on paper, the card looks pretty damn good. And maybe it's the lack of some great, maybe the undercar, hasn't been built up as strong as maybe a couple years past, or what it is. Or maybe for me, the Cody Cena stuff just has lacked a little bit of physicality that I wanted leading into this. I just feel like last year, I mean Cody got his ass whooped literally almost every week letting into WrestleMania. So you wanted to see him get his revenge. Even the year before, there was some really good physicality, a little bit between Roman and Cody heading into that one. It's like, I just feel like for your main event to only have one physical moment between Cody and Cena is a missed opportunity.

12:03 Just for conversations, say here, we were talking about WrestleMania 24, Orton, his match. It was Orton Triple H and Cena was a triple threat. >> Yeah, that is, I honestly do not remember that match at all. That's how bad it was. >> We've been through a lot of WrestleMania. I think that WrestleMania 41 going back to the original conversation here is in the shadows of some really good manias that took place. And a build last year that is maybe one of my favorite WrestleMania builds of all time. From when they do that, kick off show in Las Vegas last year with Rock, Slapping Cody, and Rollins getting involved.

12:45 And all that stuff that really catapulted it. That was a very unique time where WWE was going to go one way pivoted and pivoted in a way that was so much better than we expected. And had a really, really good solid WrestleMania overall. And again, I just think it's in the shadows of 38, 39, 40. And I think there's a possibility that a week from now we look back at this and go, well, that was still a really good Romania. We put it in there with the same discussion overall. But I think as we go through this card here, Dr. Trey, when you really look at it and you really look at things, I hate to say this, but I feel like this could be.

13:28 Like the table setter for the next three great WrestleMania's because there's a lot of people on this card that were not on the WrestleMania card a year ago. Or they're in a position against a semi established star or an established star that two years from now, they could both be established stars and be at the top of their game. So I feel like this one maybe like the theme is this is the first step to something special because when you look at Jacob Fattu making this WrestleMania debut Tiffany Stratt and making her WrestleMania debut, LA Knight get an opportunity in a bigger spot. Live Revalcuria get an opportunity, Braun Breaker get an opportunity.

14:16 Yeah, it's Drew and Damian now two years from now, it could be like remember those two guys were in a sensitivity street fight and now here we are two years later and they're champions on opposite sides. Like I think this could be a table setter WrestleMania for lack of better terms. Yeah, I thought about that too because it's almost I don't want to say it's a changing of the Garber we've had such an influx of talent in the last 18 months. You mentioned those I mean this is really Jay like Jay Cardinals is her first singles match in WrestleMania. You look at Penta being on the show this year.

14:56 They literally had a cram three of their biggest stars into one match just to get them you know kind of in a featured spotlight because they've had so much influx coming in that they had to make room for stuff. So yeah, this I guess there's always ebbs and flows and honestly this is the only thing I thought about like sometimes our favorite paper views of the year are the ones that we have lowered expectations for and they just kind of beat our expectations. But there is going to be a changing of the garthons like you see like AJ Logan Paul AJ's a little bit older now like with even punk and Roman how many more WrestleMania are they going to be a part of you know in featured roles and not just trying to help somebody else move up the ladder like there's a lot of these.

15:40 It's like the young guard in the old guard. I mean it's not millionaires club new breed or new blood but it is kind of like a changing of the guard once again this is seen as last WrestleMania. We're hoping we find out what they're doing with the order you know we're recording the show before Smackdown where does or didn't fit into all this like there's a lot of questions out there about this card and then what the cars will look like next year but like you mentioned like Drew and Damien that could be a main event match down the road. And then we're on break or Jacob thought to those guys can be made of vendors within two three years I mean there's a lot of talent ready to take the next step they're just waiting to kind of move people out of the way so they can send the ladder.

16:22 I think that's a theme for this one I think that's the one I'm going to rest my hat on this is like a table setter because a year from now to your somehow some of these folks that are in lower card positions or in a match that where they could potentially break out against established are they could be major players in a year from now to your somehow. So let's get into a restaurant 41 preview and predictions this Saturday and Sunday from a Legion Stadium in Las Vegas Nevada let's get to night one here doctor. Try you've got the war Raiders defending the world tag team championship against the new day. I have the war Raiders in this one and I am absolutely shocked that this matches made the card if you told me there was going to be a tag team title match I think anybody that's been listening to this podcast the last two months would tell you that of all people.

17:07 I've been arrested my hat on that Smackdown tag team division that Smackdown tag team division that Smackdown tag team division and here we are and the raw tag teams are on but the Smackdown tag teams aren't makes no sense to me other than that's what feeds my prediction I think the war I think this matches on the restaurant in a card because something big happens and when I mean something big happens I think big he gets involved and helps the war Raiders so I've got the war Raiders retaining. That just completely changed my pick because I was I've been leaning new day all along they have so much heat on them. I mean they still get boot out of almost every building there and the last thing we really saw was them getting the upper hand on the war Raiders and that's usually our go to is whoever has the upper hand on the show like the last appearance heading into the other team gets the win so you got me to change my pick Jeff I'm going to take the war Raiders because of the hell from big E I don't think he'll get physically involved by do you think he'll be a distraction that causes the new day to lose the match in the war Raiders retain.

18:12 It's the only reason why I can figure out why this matches on the card no disrespect to either one of these teams because I love them it's just like the build and the feud and everything else has not been there heading the rest of the match. It's like this is the tag team title match they went with comparable to what we've seen on both shows Ron's Mac down over the last two months so I just feel like something big is going on and I would think we will see the one and only big he involved next match here. Dr. Trey is Ray Mysterio taking on El Grande Americano AKA Chad Gable. Dr. Trey who do you like in this one? Oh man this one's really hard for me because I really I mean look I think people know I love Chad Gable I think he's fantastic I think he's the modern day Kurt Angle but I can see him losing just because you know the mask like Ray could easily go for the corner mask cause Gable get distracted Ray gets the win so I'm going to take Ray getting the win plus Vegas isn't too far from L.A. which isn't that far from San Diego is almost like a home town match for Ray so I'll take Ray getting the victory.

19:20 I'm going to take Ray Mysterio as well Ray needs a big WrestleMania win here so I am giving Ray Mysterio the victory I hope the El Grande Americano storyline comes to an end at WrestleMania I think the mass coming off at the hands of very Mysterio is something that would be that WrestleMania moment that people will go back and take a look at online on YouTube whatever so I I hope the El Grande Americano storyline is short lived because it reminds me of old days of W. and I hope it also comes with a very Mysterio victory so both Dr. Trey and I taking Ray Mysterio in this one the next match is Jade Cargill taken on Naomi I'm going to pick Jade Cargill in this one because I think the long term for her is what's more important I went back and forth here but I felt more 75 25 and picking Jade Cargill than I would Naomi I'm digging the change in the Naomi character I think by the end of 2025 Naomi has a women's world title run on her belt and I think this character captures fans attention a lot more this is a heal turn that is needed or reminds me of what they did with Liv Morgan last year so I think Naomi could be on a similar path where she gets some popularity behind her people are digging the character she gets some creative juices flowing she's been doing that glow thing now for almost God what feels like 10 years plus so now she could do a different thing with her character but I don't think it's going to be a lot more fun.

20:41 But I don't think it comes at the hands of Jade Cargill taken an L at WrestleMania so I think WWE is big plans for Jade Cargill they don't do a face to face foreshadowing moment between her and Charlotte Flare on Smackdown a couple weeks ago for no reason so I am taking Jade Dr. Trey. Yeah I'm taking Jade as well just because I think the upside in Jade is higher than Naomi I do like the Naomi change although I will say the catchphrase of proceed with caution not great but I do like they they've changed it up a little bit. You know for me also like if this match was on night two and the Bianca match was on night one I might change that pick a little bit but because it's on night one I'm going to take Jade getting the win like you said they don't force out of her in Charlotte for no reason and she's with us people that you can build you know your women's vision around maybe not in ringwise yet but character wise look wise you can push the way you want to do it.

21:39 You can put her on all the advertisements in all the movies and she's a star so I'm taking Jade as well. Next matchers LA night defend the United States Championship against Jacob Fattu Dr. Trey who do you like in this one? Man the easy pick for me is Jacob but then I still factor in what this what are we doing with solo. So unless we're going to get you know Jacob and solo fighting after media but I'm still going to lean Jacob Fattu take him he's you're kind of break out star. And then plus depending on the situation with the world championship if you get a heel world champion of Smackdown you need baby face challengers so taking the belt off LA night and potentially getting an LA night Johnson a match up down the line makes sense too.

22:23 So I'll take Jacob Fattu getting the win and becoming a US champion. I like you Dr. Trey I'm taking Jacob Fattu in this one similar mindset when I go through my pick of Jade car go in the match previously that we covered. I think the long term here for Jacob Fattu is a big deal to WWE. This is a guy who is could really come out of WrestleMania with the fans behind him. I think he could be a merchandise mover. I think even though he's working as a heel he's a little more of a tweener the expectation here at some point is that's solo and Tom a turn on Jacob Fattu and help him continue to grow as a super baby face in WWE which is kind of surprising because I would have figured eight months ago this guy is going to be a monster heel.

23:03 But here we are people are behind them are chanting Fattu it makes a sense run with it so I think coming out here it becomes United States champion then starts feeding with solosiko who is jealous of the success of Jacob Fattu. So I like Dr. Trey I'm taking Jacob Fattu to win United States championship. The next match here is Tiffany Stratt defending the WWE women's championship against Charlotte Flair. This bill has been great over the last two to three weeks there's been the wasn't real wasn't not discussion that's been online some reports are saying that they went off script some reports are saying they exactly hit the points that they needed to nonetheless it felt real it felt intense it felt awkward it felt uncomfortable and that's what helps make a really good build is when it feels real.

23:47 Because I think it was real I think that they don't like each other I think Charlotte was testing Tiffany Tiffany fell down a little bit that vignette we pointed out here like she steamrolled Tiffany in that one and then she got her come up in in that next segment when they ran the ring face face one other and Charlotte looked like Tiffany was doing circles around her so I like the build overall because of that weird awkwardness and strain that's what makes good wrestling. This is an interesting one because do you put the title on Charlotte again and have her defeated up and coming star I'm going to go with Tiffany in this one I don't think they do that I think this is an opportunity to help build Tiffany up this is a situation like it was years ago where Charlotte defeated real Flair when real Flair real Ripley when she was the NXT women's champion.

24:35 This is more like WrestleMania 39 when real was coming in there a little bit red hot defeat Charlotte Flair becomes women's champion and she's off to the races this is a victory that Tiffany Stratton needs so I am taking Tiffany Stratton to retain in this one doctor try. This one action has been one of my harder ones to pick because the old school mentality would be you push somebody new and then you push them down to see if they can handle the adversity can they rise back up the ranks. Part of me also just because I think I'm going to take Charlotte because I think based on some of my other picks it's a Flair getting a record breaking championship allows Tiffany to kind of rebuild the not that she needs it but to reestablish of has just a super or baby face and put the baby face on the chase plus you have the Jade factor in it as well.

25:32 I think I'm going to take Charlotte with capturing the title just in plus I got to pick something different every so often from you we have been on every agreed on every match so far I'll take Charlotte getting the victory at WrestleMania sure they go I've got Tiffany Dr. Tray Charlotte next match here is Gunther defending the world every way championship against Royal Rumble winner Jay Uso Dr. Trey who do you like in this one. This one also is tricky because I really really want to pick Jay Uso I do and I and I that's I'm talking some of my pick him is on my head I'm kind of think is out loud. You can't have Jay lose the Gunther this many times in a row and this would be like his third chance at the world championship he only had the inner connell championship for a week.

26:22 If you actually want him to be a break out star he has to win so yeah as much as I want to pick Gunther because that's who I think is best for business as the heel champion I think I'm going to take Jay getting the win in Gunther loses a championship after a long run again at WrestleMania because Jay Uso will come out of here being the world heavyweight champion. Props to WWE creative on this one again the last couple weeks in this field have been fantastic and it was kind of just moving along not making a lot of waves wasn't really grabbing my attention. Did I have a lot of feeling to it but they've done some stuff the last couple weeks that was like this is some intensity this is some stuff yeah he's down oh three against Gunther he takes out Jimmy do so.

27:08 Jay cuts out promo that I'm I'm I'm going to be afraid of the man about to become Gunther's mood changes they come out on raw guns ablaze and I love that Jay Uso was coming down to the ring he is not eating he is all in all black from sunglasses to the clothes that he's wearing. I love that it's just the little things that I'm really digging because if he came out was doing the eat different colors you to cross sunglasses after he said what he said when happened Jimmy would be like not really feel this so I like that they've turned that up with the character because you know what when Jay Uso wins a world heavyweight championship which is my pick in this match as well that's when he go back out to the crown and do the eat stuff so grid build this has been great and I can't wait to celebrate with Jay Uso on Saturday night as I hope that he wins the world of the way championship both so both Dr. Trey and I picking Jay Uso in this one and that takes us to our main event match for night one of WrestleMania which is wild because we just went through multiple title matches and this is a match with no title just egos just name brands and just one hall of fame manager sitting in someone's corner that is doing that and that is the triple threat match between rumble and rain Seth freaking wrongs and C. M. punk this feud this build has been great throughout and we've talked about it was like how they got to make this work you've got three baby faces the crowds behind them and even though the crowd is cheering for each person equally or in different wavelengths or they're staying in the kind of the same course it's like the pie chart across the entire board is is there loving everybody in thirds

28:46 this one that thrown up the ones for Roman reigns when he comes to the ring there's singing C. M. punk song when he comes to the ring and they're hitting Seth wrong song when he comes to the ring as well so I think it's a big fun one and I'm excited for this is it's just a match where again it's just egos and who's the best man through it all so very fun build this is a tough match to call Dr. Trey but when I look at how each individual has been perceived here rains punk Rollins has been over shadow in my opinion I think WWE creative throws him a bone and a thank you for everything that he did a year ago it helps him get the victory over Roman reigns and C. M. punk at WrestleMania 41 he did not defeat C. M. punk clean in Mass at Square Garden on Raw back in early March in the cage match let's give him the victory here at WrestleMania so I'm going to go with Seth freaking for allons to win the triple threat match and pardon me wants to say Paul Heyman turns I don't know if I could fully get behind that yet but I'm going to go with Seth freaking Rollins yeah this one really is kind of a toss up I mean I can make a case for every single person winning this match that being said I think I'm going to punk I mean they're throwing punk into the main event match to kind of fulfill his his wish you know the one thing on his bucket list but I also think he needs a win plus this could push Rollins over the edge and making a full blown heel again so I think I'm going to take punk getting the win by pinning Rollins in this match so that's I mean it's this one is really tricky so yeah I guess I'm going to lean towards punk in this one

30:26 all right let me ask you because we just got through night one we talked about the beginning of the show are we excited about WrestleMania as we went through night one did your juices go up because minded a little bit yeah I think the last two matches I think the last two matches the Gunther J things interesting because I really and it's this the last two matches we talked about Jane Gunther triple threat match I literally have no idea where they're going with these everything else you and I basically agreed on the Charlottes in Tiffany in that match I know you're more into that match than I am like I really almost I don't think I can care less but yeah I'm not a huge fan of either person so if that might be my bathroom break match and I say it because people think it says I just I really don't care about Charlotte Tiffany all that much so once you those last two matches I'm intrigued because I have no idea what they're going to do so that amp me up a little bit and I fully expect the first couple I think LA night Jacobs going to be a great match I think the tag match if big he does get involved will be really great so you know and then whatever they do with Gabel and Monsieur will be good but yeah the last two matches because I have no idea where they're going with it that's kind of got my juices flowing a little bit all right let's get tonight to hear you've got live Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defending the WWE women's tag team chip against a Lyra Valkyrie in Bailey who won the gauntlet match on Smackdown Dr. Trey who do you like in this one I'm taking live in Raquel I don't see it be I don't see you Lyra two belts coming out of this I think this is also
