  • -- We recap "NXT Halloween Havoc!"
  • -- Who do we expect to be victorious during next week's "Wednesday Night Wars" rematch!
  • -- Was The Usos reunion climatic or anti-climatic?
  • -- And we preview & predict "WWE Crown Jewel!"

00 It's still welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's edition The Story Real Does Show EPISOD number sumner in sixty eight for October thirty one, twenty twenty four. Welcome to your NXC Halloween Havoc Recap Interview and w Crown Jewel three View and Predictions edition of ass RT of You. I am one after the show, I am Jeff Pack joined every single week with my coach Hollaway, doctor Trey Franklin, Doctor Trey. Happy Halloween, my friend.

45 Oh wow, so you went normal this week, usually some kind of crazy obscure reference, but uh, happy Halloween. Happy first Halloween as a father to you. I saw pictures of of Luke in his uh buzz light Year outfits. Yep, that was adorable. So congrats again, my friend. And I'm sure that you're just anxious to yank him around and shut and ply him full of candy. Yeah no, I mean he he doesn't have any teeth yet, so I'm the lucky guy that gets the opportunity to to eat the candy. But yeah, I'm not a big Halloween guy. You are right, you're a big Halloween guy. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Like as as I as I sit here right now.

27 I'm recording this show from inside my car. I literally have a rubber duck that looks like a skeleton rubber duck hanging from my rear view mirror. And the sandworm, a stuffed sandworm from Beetlejuice Bellcrow to the dashboard of my car. So yeah, I'm kind of a Halloween junk. He's not into horror movies, but I love creepiness. Put it that way. Yeah, I'm not. I'm more of a Thanksgiving Christmas guy. Personally. Halloween, I don't hate it. It's just one of those things where it's like, yeah, no, it's a cool little thing that we do. I feel like Halloween is lessened over the years, like when you and I were kids. I feel like everybody now goes to these block parties in the center of a town, or they do these trunk or treats. The days of literally going to people's houses in trick or treating. I feel like it's kind of lost now. It's changing here, at least in the United States when it comes to Halloween. I don't know if you know you experienced that to where you live, doctor Trede, but I feel like Halloween isn't what it used to be when you and I were growing up.

27 Yeah. See, when we bought the house, we were the house we bought five years ago. We were super psychic. We had this big property. We were like, man, we can do all kinds of decorations and stuff and do all this crazy stuff. And so the first couple of years we did, and then we realized nobody knocked on our door, Like, there are no kids trick or treating my neighborhood. They all go to the church trunk or treats or the town trunk re treats or stuff like that. But yeah, when I was a kid, it was a big deal because I don't know how you grew back. Like I lived in this little neighborhood and there's a bunch of kids from my school, and we would plan out, Hey, we're gonna meet at Eric's house at five o'clock Susan's sun goes down, we'll start hitting this neighborhood. We'll hit like you would plan out strategic planning of the route as like a you know, a FIRSUS second grader. And then you were also comparing, hey, I'm dressing up as this, where are you doing? What are you doing, you know, stuff like that, And now it's like you kind of dress up within the family more to speak, like you do the more of the family, kind of like what you guys did the other day, and then you just kind of go, hey, we're gonna go here and go to this one. But yeah, it's kind of lost. That's actually why we're going out of town. We're going up to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, because they have a big Halloween festival and they do a big thing for kids trigger treating up there. So we're like, yeah, we're just leaving the We're just leaving town and taking a little mini vacation just to do Halloween.

51 Yeah, it's definitely changed. I think it's obviously easier. I mean doctor Trey is saying he's doing I'm sure I'll be doing it soon too. For parents to just take their chill into maybe one or two spots and there's a ton of candy, lots of people, and a lot of fun rather than driving around house to house. Obviously, my son won't fully remember his first Halloween if at all. And even I was like, so do we want to hit up my wife's parents will hit up their place. Then We'll hit up my sister in law, my brother in law's place, and they're like, no, just come on bye to my wife's parents' house as the first stop. We'll stop there, trick or treat in air quotes and have dinner as a family. And then I'll come back up to my hometown where we live, and I'll hit up my parents, who will be in the same spot, Like my brother will be in the same spot as my parents. So it's like this is so maybe I'll go to three places for trick or treating, two of which is just family members. But yeah, everything's really changed with Halloween nowadays, and it isn't what it used to be when we were growing up, or like Doctor was saying, there'd be big planning and moving around. But yeah, first one as a parent, I'm really looking forward to it.

00 And I guess to tie it all into professional wrestling. And I'm sure we've talked about this every single year Halloween comes up on us, but surprisingly enough, whenever we've done a Halloween I never was a professional wrestler. Doctor tried, never did Brett Hart, never did Hule Cogan, Macho Man, HBK DX, did you ever dabble into professional wrestling as one of your Halloween costumes when you were a kid. I only did it once one time ever, and I still remember when I did. I was seven years old and WWF was having all these vignettes of a new wrestler coming in, and I was like super excited about this guy because I was like, I don't remember a character being like this. It was Corporal Kurshner. Wow, and that's who I dressed up as, and everybody assumed I was g I Joe and of course being seven And you'll you'll learn this as your son gets older. Your son will tell you he knows more than you when he's four and five and six, like Sammy argues constantly.

55 So as a seven year old, Iowa was correcting adults to who I was like, oh, are you Gi Joe. No, I'm Corporal Kirshner. And they're like, I have no idea who this is. So yeah. That was the only time I've ever done a professional wrestler. Most years I was just because also I was round and portly, and so it was kind of hard to be a professional wrestler unless you're going to do King Kong Bundy or the One Man Gang and at the time I wasn't allowed to shave my head or get a mohawk, so I had to kind of stay in my lane as to characters that kind of fit what I look like. So yeah, just just the one time and that was it. If you're a longtime listener of the show, Like the minute Doctor Trey said Corporal Kurshner, I was like, I remember him talking about this now, and we've done it probably every single year, and I've probably mentioned remember like cheez, it was like ten plus years ago. There was like this really sad, unfortunate rumor that Corporal Kirshner died, and we actually ran a website article about him passing away, but I think they confused him with someone else, and every time you bring up corporal I always remember that issue on the we website. He ended up passing only in twenty twenty one.

08 Unfortunately, I kind of now now that you mentioned, I've always wondered why I never did Colonel de Beer's because they had the great mustache in Awa. I'm like, I should do that one year, just do like completely that. That should be like I should get some of my friends together in wrestling. You're like, we need to do a wrestling show and just do the most obscure wrestling gimmicks that nobody will remember, and just do an entire wrestling show dedicated to stuff like that, like Colonel de Beer's and chik add non lkcs, just old Awa and obscure w's. We actually have a guy who wrestles under the name of j L. Like, we could do a mister j L. Wow. So Jerry Lynn. Yeah, so you could do. We might do that next show. I might try to convinced the Rock and say, listen, let's just do an obscure wrestling show. We did it my first debut. I mean that always goes back to the the guy that dressed up as Sting in my independent wrestling days. But we used to do like a dress up Halloween battle royale at the NGW show I worked when I first got into wrestling, and that's the first year I did. I dressed as Taz because we had the same build and same haircuts, so it kind of worked out, so I did do so. I guess I did dress up as Taz one year, but it wasn't for Halloween. It was for an independent wrestling show.

25 There you go, some good Halloween memories here on srt you. Happy Halloween once again, everybody to you and yours. Feel free to test up on the x at srt you podcast if you have like a really cool I was this person for Halloween once I would love to hear that. When it comes to professional wrestling, even if it's anything crazy obscure, share your photos, hit us up Facebook, x, Twitter, or whatever you want to call it, and hit us up there. So, speaking Halloween, we're Doc Trey's talking about what he and his family are doing for Halloween as well. We're recording this show days early because there's a lot going on in the personal lives of myself and Doctor Trey. We're actually recording this before NXT Television hits the airwaves on Tuesday night, so we are unfortunately missing all the follow up from Halloween Havoc. So prefacing it now that if anything that we talk about seems a little bit outdated, that is why. So let's get into NXC Halloween Havoc recap and review. It took place this pass Sunday from the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The first match on the card here Doctor Trey was Tony DiAngelo defeating Obafemi in a tables, ladders and scares match to retain the NX North American Championship. Idoba Femi. Doctor Trey had Tony DiAngelo some notes and thoughts about this one. I've liked the character character development of Tony DiAngelo over the last several months or in his feed with Obafemi, but I thought the Babyface Group taking out Oba to help DiAngelo retain was a bit strange. Does Obafemi retreat from here and go after the NXC Championship. I feel like Oba an Oba retreat after this The way this match went down would be kind of strange. So four on one,

59 Babyface Group takes out the Heel, Badass, Behemoth, Giant, Unstoppable Force. It just it's like, Okay, where do we go from here with all of these characters. Don't show your thoughts on this one, as Tony D'Angelo retains. Yeah, it was weird in a lot of ways. It kind of felt like, you know, and I you know, you know me. I love relating wrestling the comics, kind of like when you take it takes all the Avengers to take out Fanos, you know, so you have all the good guys teaming out to take out the one monster villain. So it's a way of kind of keeping oh but strong because it took the entire family to halt to basically put him down, but Tony de gets to hang on to the belt that he just won.

41 I do like the character develop because you're giving some more depth to his character and it does make it a little more likable at times. So to me, it was a fun way to kind of kick off the show and you know, you take Oba off TV for a little bit, and they may not do this to take Oba off TV for a little bit, and boom, you can put them right up there against Trick Williams when he comes back. Whenever Trick and Ethan finish up the run, they're on now. Next match here is Julia and Stephanie Vakor defeating Roxanne Perez and corp to j We both at Julian and Stephanie Vakor. The NXC Women's division is in a really good spot right now. I liked how Corey Jaide and Roxanne Perez held their own and show they belong with the new International stars and the NXC roster and Julian Stephanie Vakor if you're not used to Julian Stephanie Vakor put him in the ring with cor Jaide and Roxanne Perez.

28 That is your brominer. As an NXT fan, they hold their own from that side of the ring ring, It's like, okay, wow, these two new international stars mean business. If it's the opposite way around where you're fans of the international stars and you want to see if the NXT women can hang with Julia and Stephanie, cor Jaide and Roxanne Perez prove that I thought they could. They went out there, improved it. Hat tip, major hat tip to kor Jaide, who has not been in a rink since January after suffering another long term injury that she had. She had like torn acls like I think over the last year knee injuries two years, three years, which has been terrible because her characters were really good. On the next day, this was a fun tag team match, Doctor Trey, your thoughts, Here's Julie and Stephanie get the victory.

12 So this was only my second time I've seeing Stephanie Vacorr in action, and the other time was against Mercedes Monet, and I liked this performance way better and on paper, you can say like, well, yes, Stephanie Vacorr in the ring with Mercedes Monette, that should be a great match. It wasn't. This was a much better outing there. There were a couple of times where it felt a little bit off, but then again it's still you know, they're still learning each other. But you're right, like, this is kind of the Baromba test for Stephanie and Julia against the top of NXT for people like me who only know the NXT girls, And it was great for the international fans to see how Cora and Roxanne stack up with two stars from you know, globally, but just a really good matchup, and you're right, like, right now, the NXC women's division is probably the most loaded women's division in all of professional wrestling. Like the talent from top to bottom I think is on par with everything else, and the end ring work is better than just about anything else. So yeah, they're stacked in I saw, I mean, I literally saw criticism of Sean Michaels this week for the women's division being too good in comparison to the other divisions in NXC, So I mean, that's that's how that's how jaded and critical wrestling fans can be at times.

25 He's working with what he's got. The roster is very talented, so uh yeah, I've been banging on that drump for a while where I'm like, this may be the best women's division all professional wrestling, and I stand by that. I mean, they are exciting, they are fun, they have good matches, good character development, and it's like, it's it's across the board. Uh So it could be sol Ruka and Lola Ice and you're you're okay with that. It's and they're making additions to the roster. It's it's a really really good spot that they're in right now. And it's maybe from top to bottom, maybe the best and sea women's roster we've ever seen, Doctor Trey, Yeah, I would say, because it's so deep.

07 It is deep, That's what I'm saying, like tot to of top end talent matches, the days of the Four Horsewomen in NXC, but from top to bottom, yes, it is much. It's deeper now than it's ever been. But I don't know if you have that generational star on the roster like a Charlotte or a Becky or Bailey or or Sasha. Yeah, no, it. It's it's a tough, tough call, but it's like when I think about the upper when I think about the main event, it's like, this is really good. When I think about the upper mid card, this is really good. Mid card, really good, low mid card, really good. Uh, it's it's a very very deep roster for the NXC Women's division. Next match, here is Rich Holland defeating Andre Chase in an ambulance match. We both hat Andre Chase in this one. I'm all for pushing someone as a single star in Rich Holland, but it's just surprising that they did in such a dominating fashion by destroying all of Chase. You basically it makes you wonder how Chase you will move forward from here, if at all, Ridge Holland entering the North American Championship picture would make a lot of sense to me right now. But at the end of the show we learned a little bit more about Ridge Holland. Dot Tree, your thoughts on this one?

11 Is Ridge Holland defeats Andre Chase? It was like reverse booking tonight. Does that are on the show? Because you have all the baby faces beating up a heel on one match to start the show, but then the Heel overcomes all the baby Faces in another match. It was weird booking on these two matches, but it was a fun match. I love Andre Chase is like Freddy Krueger looking sweater that he had. I thought that was kind of cool. But yeah, it's like, Okay, well, okay, we're moving Ridge up. And then by the end of the show, I'm like, okay, are we really moving him up? And I was a little confused by it. But the match itself was fine and fun and just a little confusing on how it was kind of put together, but overall, like, if i'most watching for entertainment value, it was pretty fun.

58 Yeah, no, it was. It was a fine match. I feel like, if if he wasn't destroying all of Jasehu, I would have been fine with this result. But because he's completely dominated in Chase, it's like, are they breaking this group up? Is this like an NXC two point zero gimmick that they're like, we got to put a bullet in its brain and call it a day, But it's so popular. It's just it was bizarre, and it makes sense because of the close of the show, but yeah, it was bizarre. Next match. Here is Fallon Henley defeating Colonnie Jordan in a gauntlet match to win the NXC Women's North American Championship. I had Fallon Henley, Doctor Trade, Coloney Jordan. Fallon Henley winning a singles championship in NXC is long overdue. Klondie Jordan had a good run as the first ever NXC Women's North American Champion, was able to showcase her abilities to be a future top star on the brand, as she definitely has some IT factor potential about her if she could continue to grow her in ring abilities in the right direction. I'm a fan of both these women, Doctor Trey. I'm very very happy for for Fallon Henley because I thought she was so good it as a babyface. When they made the transition to heel, I'm like, man, how is this gonna work out?

03 And it's worked out really well. It's been just as good as Roxanne Perez turning heel has gone from the uber baby face, and I expect one day Calonnie Jordan as a heel will just be as similar as Roxanne Perez and Fallon Henley have been once they've transitioned as these goodie two shoes babyfaces some badass heels. Your thoughts on this one, as Valon Henley is the new NX Women's North American Champion, Well. First of all, I was, I was impressed that you get not only did you get Falon Henley correctly, you picked the correct member of Fatal Influence. Like I was like, wow, he got the right because we didn't know who it was going in. You said Fallon Heley. It was Valon Heilly. So uh, the match was was fine, But I, like you said, I'm super happy for Fellon Henley. I really enjoyed her with with Briggs and uh oh what's their guys name? I hear your guys name. I liked her as the uber popular, you know, kind of country girl.

54 This kind of feels like you and Mickey James would go heel like it's like, okay, yeah, I get it makes sense. Uh but yeah, it's just a really cool, little fun match. And this just once again shows the depth of the roster that you have. You know, talented women like this that are kind of in a mid card feud, and you see the potential there that they could do more stuff down the road. So uh, kudos to Kaloni for being the first North American women's champion, and Valan Hilly's got some boots to Phil to kind of keep up this newfound legacy of this title because of what Koloni did for it. You're thinking of the famed attack team Brooks, Brooks, Jensen and Josh Briggs. Yes, Brooks and Brooks and Briggs. That's trying. I've always said Briggs in Stratton, but that's a lawnmower, and I was like, that's not correct, Like, and I managed Brooks Jensen, but and dear god, I forgot the kids name.

43 So it's probably doesn't help that you actually know his real name. So that's why. Yeah, that's that's what was throwing me off. I'm like, I know Ben Buchanan, but what was his damn what's his damn wrestling name? So yes, I but yeah, but it's it's I like the I said, I liked Fallon as that baby face, that plucky, tough babyface, but thea Hale cut it as a same thing just for Chase U that she was doing for, you know, for Brooks and Briggs, So it made sense to kind of move her over to the other side. And she's been doing a great job ever since turning ill and joining up with fatal or faintal influence. Next match here is the main event Trick Williams if he had an Ethan page and a devil's playground match to retain the NXC Championship. We both at Trick Williams in this one. I hate to pick on Trick Williams, but they need to do something here to get his matches on the same playing field as his character in charisma to make him an all around great talent. His finisher may be the most anti climatic finisher in all of we While I understand it can come out of nowhere aspects to it, whenever he hits the trick shot finisher, it catches the crowd off guard and it doesn't get a great response like it should. You would think that a guy like HBK, who used a foot stomp to tune up the band for his finisher Switechen music, could help Trick out here. As for the match itself, I don't think it accomplished the quote taking Trick to a violin side like they had teased leading into this match and brought up during this match with the blood kind of coming out of his mouth I would have liked to see a little bit more extreme to help get Trick to this spot, but Bray making the same post

14 match when the beatdown Trick was getting from rich Ald and Ethan pagehood set up for a tag team made event in the ECW arena, which is really cool. But overall, Doctor Trey, this has been a theme of mine for a while since they've elevated Trick Williams character charisma. It is there in ring talent to me, is lacking that finisher. I mean, I could look down on my phone popped up and all of a sudden, there it is. It's one two three. It just does not get a great reaction on the crowd, not a great pop when he hit it, and it was like a surprise he one two three, which has kind of been Trick's m O. And I don't think you want to do that for a guy that's like over six feet tall and is well built. That is something you do for a small arrestler like Brian Danielson. Doctor Trey, your thoughts on this one.

01 As Trick Williams defeats Ethan Page to retain the NC Championship. H yeah, it's it's I'm watching the match, and I'm like, Okay, it's it's a better in ring performance from Trick than we've seen recently. So I'm like, okay, I feel like he's getting better as a wrestler. His his charisma, his promos, his look, all that stuff. He's all those are all A A plus levels. It's the end ring stuff, and then the finisher is just not there. And I kind of feel like these knee strikes are becoming what sweet Chin, what superkicks became like everybody's throwing them. I mean like Seamus throws them, you know, Brian, Big guys throw them, Little guys throw They're all being thrown. They're all every's throwing knee strikes everywhere. So if you're not doing something to make your knee strike appear larger than life, you get that feedback. I mean, you see Drew McIntyre, you know his Claymore kick is basically a single leg drop kick, but because he does the countdown and everything else is way more dramatic. Sean did that with Sweet Jim music.

05 You see Dolph Ziggler stole that out right and still does it. I mean, there are ways of doing it to make it seem like it's much more effective than it is. I mean, we talk about stuff out of nowhere, the RKO out of nowhere, but when he sells it earlier in the match and he's down on all fours and he's pounding the mat and getting ready to strike, that lends you to believe the move is better and bigger than a normal cutter. He's got to do something to kind of hype it up, especially if if you just hype it up and then miss and then come back to it later out of nowhere. We've already seen the importance Roman Reigns with Superman. Punch is just a jumping punch, but because of the theatrics that go into it, it sells it bigger to the audience. He needs something to sell the trick shot as being more than just a knee strike out of nowhere that knocks somebody out.

58 Yeah, it's it's missing a lot because the problem with the trick Williams matches that I've noticed is every single time I watch him, it's like he's behind the eight ball in the match, he is getting dominated by his opponent, and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, he hits a trick shot. One two, three matches over and it's like, man, that didn't really make him look strong. The only time that has worked out was the what's that match that they do, they're the Iron Survivor Challenge. When he won that one maybe like early December. I think he won that match and he. Was way behind so he needed a bunch of victories quickly.

38 Yes, yes, and the first rowd was behind him though. Yeah, you go back to that and like, I love that match, Like that match, it made a ton of sense and they've carried that over all the time. But he built up anticipation to that and he had the fans in the palm of his hand. You watch a Trick Williams match, he has the fans of the palm of his hand. As he comes down to the the match starts, he's behind the eight ball and the fans aren't really is into it. I mean they're saying, whoop that trick because it's a nice fun chant. But if he didn't have that chant, if he didn't have the chrisma, if you didn't have the character, is he in this spot? It's it needs some work because he is a future star in WWE, but they needed they need to help him out right now to make me get excited for him to win the match, or make him on a level playing field. And they did that thing where again you try to add a little bit of violence to the situation, make them look a little bit tougher, help them give a little bit of edge. They tried to do that heading into this match with not a lot of build, and it just did not connect with me. And the blood capsule in his mouth, like that's the direction that they went to get that over, and it's like, uh, he was barely barely getting out of his mouth until like the actual pin and the hey had like this huge loogie if you go back in the I mean, it's it's long as hell. Props to that.

03 Have you ever dealt with blood capsules before? I haven't. Yeah, see I have. Like like when I first got into wrestling, we were still like most of the guys were like if you use a blood capsule, ye're a whamp, you know, or more derogative terms than that, And like I tried it once and that same thing, Like it's hard to get especially if you're actually moving around and you start getting a little bit rymout, it's really hard to get the saliva built up to get a good reaction out of that until the match kind of ends and your body comes down and all the moisture comes back, and then you get that weird looking thing. My issue with Trick, and this is the same issue I have with Rocket City sometimes is our top baby face is bigger than everybody else he faces, So unless he's got you know, somebody else at ringside, it's hard to believe that the little guy is whooping the big guy's ass.

56 And that's the typical baby face thing. Baby Faces usually get their butts kicked and then come back at the end. Well, when your adversary is, you know, four inches shorter and thirty pounds lighter and not as muscular as you, it's hard to kind of go, yeah, I buy into this guy. Like I love Ethan Page. I think Ethan Page is phenomenal. I love what they did with him after the match, because he's that slimy, narcissistic heel that we all love to hate. But with the Miss, Miss doesn't dominate matches, and Ethan Page should not be dominating a guy who's six ' four two fifty five and looks like he's carved out of stone. Like that big guy should be kicking Ethan's ass, and Ethan only gets ahead by cheating and tricks and things like that, and you didn't see that, and everybody he's faith even going back to Carmelo Hayes, Carmelo Hayes should not have been whooping tricks ass throughout most of his matches. I'll you, Dragon Off should not have been whooping his ass. The only person on that roster that you know from then so now bron Breakers and Oba Femis, those are the only guys that should be dominating Trick Williams where he has to make a dramatic comeback and hit a move out of nowhere to win everything else he needs a much more dramatic physical finisher and then put the trick shot in his back pocket to say for the bigger guys when he wrestles.

18 That I'm concerned about the long term of Trick Williams because this may be who he is. It's an un ring star at times. He looks like a tall giraffe, uncoordinated giraffe skating on ice. It is, It's the truth, and I like Trick Williams a lot, and this is going to be a very old school approach. But it like popped my brain where if this is his cap on the entering ability, I don't see him on a raw or SmackDown being a main event guy right now unless he continues and hopefully theoretically continues to improve. He's a guy that it would make so much sense to me that at some point he makes a transition from being professional wrestler to color commentator doctor Trey and I really hate to see that and say that, but I mean that to me, it's like, maybe that's where he could be. I hope not, because I think that's an insulting If Trick Williams is listening to this, he's insulted by what I had to say. But if you're a longtime professional wrestling fan, you're like, oh, man, I could really see Trick Williams in that Wade Barrett present time macho man, Randy Savage old time role where he can has the gift of the gap and would make a really really good color commentator. So again, I hope I'm wrong.

34 I hope he continues to improve, but it's like, as we almost have that a full year of Trick Williams in the main event spot, I'm like, is this him? Because it ain't cutting it for me. I would say one more thing on on Trick Williams. If you go back and watch and you and I saw this live, what was happening the rise of Booker t When Booker was just throwing the ax kick, he was a mid card guy, upper mid card guy, US title TV title. It wasn't until he started throwing in the book end that he became a main event guy because the physicality in the size showed out more when he did a big move like that. And yeah, maybe it's a little bit of the booking and the presentation, but it was a little bit of change in the finisher for him to for people go, oh, yeah, he hits bookends on Hulk Hogan or on Jeff Jarrett or on something that, yeah, that matches over Trick needs a big power move to add into that arsenal because otherwise it looks like he's just getting flukey wins over smaller guys mm hmm.

36 And it's it's not good for a guy that looks like Trick Williams. So they got to change the booking here of Trick Williams as NXC champion because it's like Okay, maybe this one time they do it like this, and then it's like they did it again, and they did it again, they did it again. It's like, why are we booking him like this? Are they are they trying to cover up something that we don't know about? Like are they worried about his long term abilities at a the ring star? Just it. It does not make a lot of sense to me. Pay per view prediction record from this one. We both went free and two. I am one twenty seven and thirty six in the year doct tree one sixteen and forty seven. Match of the Night and event rating. I gave Halloween ha like a three point six out of five. It was an alright show and my match the night was toned to D'Angel and Oba Femi. What say you doctor? Try?

21 Yeah? I had a three point four and I also had Oba and Tony. To me, it was just like one of those sh like we didn't have a we didn't have a host like Shatzi or Scarlett like we've had in the past. It was just like all right. It felt like when AW does like one of their big Night of Champion title it whatever. It is like fright night. It feel like Yeah, it didn't feel like a big event, you know, it just felt like, Okay, it's just a really really well produced episode of NXC. Yeah, And I think that's kind of what they want sometimes at these pls, and it's like, uh, necessarily en if I want that sometimes. Speaking of NXC, speaking of the close of Halloween having on Wednesday night, November six, for one night only, we will get the Wednesday Night a Wars again as NXT and AW will do battle.

10 They are doing that because of Election Night on Tuesday, which makes a ton of sense. I'm sure a lot of other eyes in the United States will be on watching something else rather than professional wrest even though I would prefer watching professional wrestling on a Tuesday night of Election night. I think all of us would be. But it makes sense from a business standpoint, and NXC is countering that move by going to the ECW Arena. They will be in the twenty six hundred arena for the first time for a televised event that I can remember. They didn't even do this when when they had the ECW brand, they never went to the ECW Arena. I think they did for a house show and that was it. And they are pumping it up already with the return of Dawn Marie is a special guest referee, Doctor Trey.

56 I would assume that on Tuesday Night's edition of XC Television that a tag team match is made between Trick Williams and Bubba Ray Dudley taking on Ridge Holland and Ethan Page. By the way that things were teasing the pre show, during the show, and then obviously the clothes when Bubble Ray makes the save for Trick Williams against Ridge Holland and Ethan Page, who are trying to take out the current NXC champion. What do we expect from this, Doctor Trey? Who do we expect to be victorious? As the WEDNESDA Night Wars return next week, we'll be recapping it and hopefully I have some viewership numbers by the time we record on next week's show. But let's preview it a little bit as we head out to NXC versus AW taking place one more time.

39 So who do I expect to win in viewership? I expect NXT to win because they've kind of been dominating over the last few months. So and then you throw in a little bit of nostalgia to it, and you just start getting some ECW guys floated into I hat the show. So you're gonna get all the old heads like me, all the young kids who are watching now. I kind of feel like they're gonna smoke aw in the rain. It might be almost a two to one. It might be eight hundred thousand to four hundred thousand by the time it's all said and done. I am a little like I'm with you. I wish they were still running it on Tuesday, just because, uh, you know, I'd like to see some positivity on my TV instead of the negativity that will happen during election night. Even though we do have a WW Hall of Famer against somebody who has the same name as Ugandan Giant head to head for the presidency wrestling tie in, But I get it. It makes sense. They're trying, and you know they're they're moving it over. So I am. I was a little surprised we got Don Marie and not maybe a Fran scene in this role, but maybe we get Tory Wilson running in to fight Don Marie over Al Wilson again, you know, twenty years later something like that.

53 It's cat fight breaks out over the the Al Wilson estate still not being settled or something. Who knows, But yeah, I just think it's going to be a fun night in a little bit of the new school and the old school kind of coming together at the twenty six hundred arena, which I'm excited about because, I mean, outside of the very first one night stand, Like, this is the closest thing we've gotten to WW really acknowledging ECW for what it actually was in the building that it was actually. In, and NXC is the closest brand that they've ever done this versus of NXC that resembles what ECW, the heart and spirit of ECW was even when they had ECW going, it was not ECW. It was like that for maybe a month. Then Vince came in and screwed it all up. Yeah, I expect, like you, doctor Trey, that NXC is going to be victorious. I think even in a normal situation, if they were in the PC Arena not ECW arena, the NXC would still defeat AW.

55 I find NXT Television to be a lot more of a product that I want to invest in then anything AW right Now, again, it's for me another week outside of a couple of glimpses here and there, and some good builds for some matches that we're airing on, say a Rampage or a Collision. I don't want to watch programming that is a little bit throwaway and does not come off well. And outside of Dynamite, it's like Rampage and Collision continue to do that to me. So if you're not carrying it over a show to show week to week, it shows and it damages the product overall, which is I think one of the main reasons why Dynamite is slipping in the ratings so much, in an Intendant so much it's a big night Doctor Trey. This could be a major body blow to AW if the viewership is not even close. So I don't know what aw's plan is. We record the show for next week's edition of Dynamite fully yet, but they have got to come out swing just as much as WWE is by putting me the ECW Arena. This, at least from a twenty twenty four standpoint, this has some major implications that will carry itself over into twenty twenty five and how people are viewing AAW and whether or not AW continues to pivot to make their fans happy, or continues to be a little bit like very stubborn with the way that they like to do things and hopes that people catch on rather than we catch on to them. It's it's funny because AW reminds me of the days when

26 Vince was in charge of the book because he was very stubborn with a lot of things when we had no competition. When he had competition, it was forcing him to change and he wasn't listening to the fans anymore when he was did not have competition, And I feel like sometimes that's what is going on in AW as well. So I think this could be a very big body blow if AW is not close at NXT on next Wednesday. Doctor try, I. Mean, because I mean, if you're AW, how do you counter program this? Because you're looking at it going okay, they're in the twenty six hundred arena. You know, we already know Bubba raising me on the show. We saw Devon in a vignette trick as well, so you're probably gonna get Devon there or you got Don Marie Like what I mean, you kind of have an affiliation with Rob van Dam? Do you do you bring Rob Van Dam out? On Wednesday, I had to try and counter program the ECW stuff like, I don't know what you can put out that will get people like me or you who go, man, I kind of want to watch the show because I like NXT and I like this nostalgia stuff they're throwing in. It almost makes it like I have to watch this. What can they even put out there that makes you go huh? I may have to flip back and forth like the old Monday Night Wars to try and catch everything, Like, I just don't know what they can throw out there right now where we go. Damn, I'm torn as to which one I want to watch, because on paper, right now, I have no interest in watching Dynamite. If they're running at the same time that NXT is, I might catch you if they run over or if they stagger the star times and catch some AAW. But if they're running the same

57 two hour time slot, I'm watching NXT because it's going to have a little bit more of interest for me. Between what a good show is and the ECW science. I don't know how AW can even counterprogram this. Yeah, the one thing that would be like, all right, what would I be interested in as to why I would tune into AW over NXT. Is if Moxley cuts a promo on this past Wednesday when you're listening to this podcast edition Dynamite and says, hey, we're going to reveal who's behind all this on next week's show, because then all the anticipation would be Shane McMahon, and you got to deliver that it is, in fact Shane McMahon and you get that big bump up there. I expect AW to do an overrun on this. I expect AW and or NXT to have like the first hour commercial free because they're going to be going at this pretty hard with one another. I tend to wonder and this will actually carry us into our next couple topics here before we close up the show, Doctor Trey, I wonder if Paul Hayman is going to return at Crown Jewel this weekend, because I think of Paul Hayman appearance at NXT on Wednesday would be really good. So if he appears at Crown Jewel and they promote and by the way, he will be in the twenty three hundred arena I called the twenty six hundred before twenty three hundred arena for ECW Arena and we'll be making an appearance there.

10 I think people are going to be nostalga tuning in because they want to see Paul Hayman in the ECW Arena. So there's a lot of things here that are in play, but from a regular promotional standpoint, without them budging anything and everything at me to be like, hey, tune into us, No tune into us, Hey tune into us, no tune into me. I would pick watching NXT over AW. And you go back five years ago when the show started, both these shows were going ahead head excuse me. During our show, you and I were like, we're watching AW first, NXT second, because AOW was a better product. So this isn't like two guys that are w homers that are standing by w WA. We are fans of AW. We want AW to succeed. And when they were going to Totel, we were watching AW more than NXC because AW was better than NXC. But right now NXC is better than AAW.

58 So be a very very interesting time. I'm really looking forward to them being a the ECW Arena on Wednesday, November six as the Wednesday Night return for one night only. Who will be victorious, NX he a W Doctor Trey and I believe NXT Tune in and chime in right now over on Twitter at SRTU podcast speaking of Paul Hayman, Doctor Trey, speaking of Crown Jewel. We talked about on a last week's show the USO's getting back together, or it looked to be that they were getting back together. We saw a hug on Friday night. We saw Jay Usso continue to explain a little bit further on Monday's Raw. Now they're trying to bring Sammy's ay into the fold.

39 So it appears I have an idea where War Games is going at this point. But the reunion itself, was it climatic or anti climatic? Because on Friday, I think we would say it could have had a better build. It wasn't anti climatic. It had a really nice pop, people were excited. It was an emotional moment, but it kind of fell below where it could been very climatic and a huge pop. I would say Monday's Raw, I was like, Okay, so now there's a little bit of an explanation behind this, and I'm digging that. Your thoughts as one of the greatest we tag teams of all times, Jimmy and Jay, the USOS have reunited. Yeah, I mean uh uh on the surface, like it's great, Like this is what we've been kind of wanting to get to. I said, my nitpickiness would be once again, I feel like it's a little rushed, like and I thought I and I thought they they did a good job on Monday trying to cover it up, where like Jay's like, look, the last time I saw you was at WrestleMania. We were standing across the room from each other trying to kill each other, and now you want to just patch things up. And he was like, I've gone off and done some great stuff on my own without you. So I liked the cover up on Monday because Friday, it it kind of felt a little, yeah, a little rushed, like like they're kind of trying to move it along quickly because we're not that far away from Survivor series and you want to make sure that you have enough time to build up four on four if that's what we get to and create the animosity

11 between the groups. So it does kind of feel like we're kind we're trying to cram the reconciliation and really quickly to get to building the animosity. But seeing Jimmy and Jay back together, it's fantastic. I came across a clip of them from like I think it was like eight years ago, nine years ago, when they saw the face paint on and they were hanging out with Roman backstage feuding with somebody, you know, and it was like, it's really cool to see them back together just once again. As a diehard wrestling fan and a person who appreciates good storylines, it just feels like the reconciliation is a little rush. That's why I appreciate it Monday night, because they're letting, letting, getting some reasoning why to kind of satiate somebody like me who likes to nippick storylines.

00 Yeah, I think we all anticipated this. We all had the vision of seeing once the solo stuff happened in the return of Roman Reigns and war Games around the corner and the amount of people that were on the new blood line, that it would make sense that this was the direction that they would go with a new bloodline taken on the og bloodline at some point in War Games. And I think for me, I would have liked to see the build up take place a little bit earlier than what we've seen. It has felt a little bit of rushed over the last two and a half weeks. But I did like that they started to add some value in detail to this entire thing, because I did like Jay, like completely, not forgetting everything in professional wrestling that took place in the last eighteen months between the two, because that's always one of the worst things in wrestling in general. It's like, two months ago, I could have been feuded with you, and two months later, you're my tag team partner in a random main event against two people that we built like, and then we become friends out of nowhere. There's no explanation behind that.

52 It was always something that irked me in professional wrestling. So I liked that they did the Jimmy and Jay explanation and it's not like full and we'll see where things go on Friday's SmackDown that was already taped and the reconciliation with Roman, and we'll see how far this og blood line's going. Sammy's aying now injecting himself in this entire thing, and again the expectation about a month from now, less than a month from now, Doctor Trey. For me is that we are getting og bloodlined versus New Bloodline in War Games Match. I think the crowd's gonna eat that up. It is interesting where Sammy and Jay will fit into this entire thing post this little feud, because they've been so good as single stars. It's, uh, it's interesting. It's intriguing to see where this goes. But we're starting to see a little bit detail. I don't think it meets the expectations that we had originally had hoped on how we got there, but we're here now, Doctor Trey, and and hopefully the effort continues to improve.

52 Yeah. I mean it's one of those things. It's like, is the is where you want to get to more important than how you get there? Or is the journey more important than the destination? I think the destination where we want to get to is og Bloodline versus New Bloodline, survivor series, all that stuff. The trip is maybe not what we expected. I think we were expecting a little more of a scenic journey and we're kind of in the fast line just trying to get there a little bit. So like it's like you said, and I said, I do appreciate there trying to add in some depth and some reasoning as to why this feels like it's going so fast. But you know, at the end of the day, if we you still have the looming you know, rock Factor, where does he fit into all of this as well?

41 So there's still some moving parts. But I think if if the journey is maybe not what we expected but still good, I think once we get to that find that that destination, I think we'll all be happy. Well that said, let's preview and predicted WWE Crown Jewel that takes place this Saturday from the Muhammadad Arena in Riann, Saudi Arabia. First match on the car Here, Doctor Trey is Jade Carr Gill and Bianca bell Air defending the WA Women's Tag Team champions against Damage Control Metaphor and Chelsea Green and Piper Nivin in a fatal four way match. I'm gonna take Jade card Gill and Bianca bell Air. Who do you like this one, Doctor Trey. See, this one's tricky because they're out of the country, and that's usually when Jade and Bianca lose when they're out of the country. But with everybody involved here and you basically have a tag team from every brand challenging them.

29 I'm gonna take Bianca and Jade to retain as well. Next match here is Seth Freakin Rollands taking on Bronson Reid, and I gotta admit, Doc Tray, I think this is a tough one to call. Who do you like in this one? Yeah, it's tough because I mean Seth's kind of destroyed Bronzon since he came back, and he keeps getting in the upper hand. So I want to pick Bronson Reid, but with it being an event in Saudi Arabia, I think I'm gonna go with the safe pick and pick the baby face and take Seth Rawlins. In a normal situation, I would say you gotta pick Bronson read here because he's got to get over help elevate himself as a heel utilize Seth Ronds as a catapult. But Seth has not won many matches in twenty twenty four because he's been injured and it's just yeah, or I had some time off, or he's been like a little bit of fodder for some really good feuds. He's had a really good year, but he's taken a lot of l's and I think he's due for a win in this one. I like the segment on Monday's ra All where Bronson Reid bounced back from the stomp and then took out Seth Rollins and like a really crazy spot with the Death Valley Driver. I would pick Bryn.

34 I want to pick Bronson reading this one, Doctor Trey, but again, I think Seth Rollins needs to win, So I'm gonna take Seth Freaking Ronalds in this one, which then takes us to our next match. Here is Randy Orton taking on Kevin Owens. I'm gonna take Kevin Owens in this one, Doctor Trey. Yeah, I don't think you do all the weird stuff that they've been doing with this story and with KAO to take the loss here, so I'm taking Kevin Owens as well. Next match is La Night to the United States Championship in a triple threat match against Andrade and Carmelo Hayes. I'm gonna take Llni to retain Doctor Trey. Yeah. This one's a little tricky for me because I want to pick somebody else because I think this US title run has fallen flat since he got the US title.

17 He feels like the auxiliary character and a lot of this, but I think I'm gonna take La Night retaining as well, just because I just I don't see them putting the belt on Andrade or Carmelo in Saudi Arabia. Next match here is Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso and Jay Uso the OG blood Line taking on the New blood Line in a six man tag team match. Who do you like this one, Doctor Trey. I think I'm gonna take the OG Bloodline right now. I think they're you know, it's kind of the hot hand. So although I think the New blood Line needs the win, I think they'll give it to the OG blood Line in this one. I'm gonna go with a New blood Line because I think they get the win now and then they take the l at war Games. So I think this is a set up match for War Games. They need to get Sammy Zaying to even up the playing field because whoever gets involved, let's say Jacob Fatuus on the outside and takes out somebody and helps gets them, gets them the victory, and they need Sammy. So I think this match leads to needing Sammy. Next matches for THEE Women's Crown Jewel Championship. Live Morgan, who is the women's World Champion, takes on Nya Jacks, the WWE Women's Champion. I'm gonna take Live Morgan this one. Doctor. Try see this one.

27 I've gone back and forth on because I could see somebody getting involved in costing her the match. I think I'm gonna take nia in this one, because I mean, she's already won Queen of the Rings. She's already now the SmackDown Women's Champion. Uh. By the way, I still get confused on what belt is called what on these two shows. I think this is just kind of Nya's runs. I think I'm gonna take Naia in this one. And then finally for the Men's w Crown Jewel Championship, World Heavyweight Champion Duncer takes on undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes Doctor Trey. Who do you like in this one? This one is the hard want for me to pick because this title doesn't really mean anything, which then makes me want to pick Gunther just because I mean Cody beat him. You know, Cody was an eliminaum at the World Rumble. He's been on this run ever since. I kind of want to pick Gunther, but since this is probably the matches that closes it out and they want to send the fans home happy, I'm gonna take Cody Rhodes.

20 Yeah, this is very similar to me to like Seth Freakin Rollins and Bronson Reed. I want to pick Gunther as well because I think it makes sense for his character, But I like you, I think they send the fans home happy and they want Cody Rhads to be the guy with that championship. So both of us taking Cody Roads in this one, and we will recap and review w WEE Crown Jewel next week for the first show in the month of November. So twenty twenty four is very rapidly closing out Doctor Tree. Before I know, we'll be doing the last show of the year and being in the holiday programming schedule.
