00 It's still real to me, damn it! What up, you! Welcome, everybody! Welcome to this week's "A Dissimistra Rela Show" Episode number 819 For on October 23rd, 2025 Is your NXC Halloween having a preview edition of SRTU? I am on app to show I am Jeff Beck, joined every single week Like on the slowly doctorate, Franklin. Dr. Trey, do you have the flu, my friend?
42 It's something, there's something... This is something you get to look forward to here in the coming years, is that When you have kids in school, they're always contracting something And then... Let's just clarify, you mean like colds though, right? Nothing else, they're contracting No, yeah, I mean good Nothing, I mean something to pass you, but I mean just like, you know, homework And today Sammy had a book fair, so he brought home like three books that he bought That he bought? Yes, yes, I had to give him money And then he goes to the book fair and takes out what books he wants Is that this classic book fair?
25 No, I don't think it's called a Scholastic Book Fair anymore It's all proceeds go to the local school, I think, or something like that That's how they get the parents to pony up more dough It's like, no, no, no, it's for our school But then they hit you up for money like every time they turn around But yes, he brought home so last week he was flinging under the weather It got to me Tuesday And I've said all along, I either got it from Sammy or from eating mall Chinese Food Friday, so it's one of the two One of the two, it's either your son or mall Chinese food That's what we're going with here, the flu potentially for Dr. Triff Franklin Maybe COVID, maybe the COVID But yeah, I mean if anybody's been listening to the show, I think I've been sick like every eight weeks So if it's possible for you to give me a cold through this microphone and through this recording And yeah, I will be sick on next week's edition of SRTU So we're going to get through it here because Dr. Tri is hanging on by a thread And he is gutting it out here for us on this week's edition of SRTU So Dr. Triff, the first thing I wanted to bring up here on this week's edition of the podcast is following this past Monday night's raw It was announced that the World Heavyweight Championship would be declared vacant as Seth Rounds is out with injury, more on him and a bit So CM Punk would take on the winner of a battle, a royal that would take place later on the night on Monday night raw, which was later won by J.Uso So CM Punk versus J.Uso November 1st Saturday night's main event on Peacock will be the one on one match to declare the new winner, the new holder of the World Heavyweight Championship
05 Which begs the question, Dr. Tri, who would be more compelling as the next World Heavyweight Champion in WWE? CM Punk or J.Uso, and when we look at the current character arc of both these wrestlers and former champions Right now CM Punk is out of standstill, he does not really have a storyline going on right now because Seth Rounds without is out with injury All roads pointed to CM Punk versus Seth Rounds at the November 1st Saturday night's main event, which I probably would guess would have led to a war games type situation between the two But towards Survivor Series later in the month, while J.Uso right now is dealing in this storyline where he is quasi-acting like Roman Reigns and there's a little bit of heal tendencies even though he's still super over with the crowd And as Frows both LA and his brother Jimmy who saved him multiple times in the battle royal was basically obsessing over becoming World Heavyweight Champion again and doing it by any means necessary It's interesting because Dr. Tri, the character arc of CM Punk could be catapulted with the World Heavyweight Championship win While J.Uso has at least a storyline that's taking place right now, so I simply ask you when you look at everything and we get ready towards that Saturday night's main event match to crown the next World Heavyweight Champion who is more compelling?
29 CM Punk or J.Uso is the next champ I'm going to lean CM Punk because like you said he has no storyline right now We're very babyface heavy on Monday Night Raw like you just mentioned Jimmy and Jay, we also have LA Knights, CM Punk, Roman Reigns We haven't got Goon Thurback but John Cena is on that show as well Like you're pretty babyface heavy and on the heel side you have the bronze and the returning gunthor at some point So you have like seven baby faces to three quasi top heels, you can throw a dom and fan maybe on the peripheral of that if you ever want to elevate them But to me it's the CM Punk character like I alluded to it last week like what if CM Punk turns heel and joins the vision And you kind of shot that down well after Monday Night I'm like that's actually playable now Like that's in the cards that it could go that route so I think Punk needs something to do You know heading into survivor series heading into Royal Rumble season Jay could be tied up with his brother and Roman and LA Knight and everything else circulating around his head And have some good storylines so I'll go with Punk needing kind of needing the win to kind of give him something to do for the next few months Yeah I agree with you I think Punk is more compelling and he needs the Royal VWHP chip to have some sort of storyline now for a really important part of the year
02 I'm not even a week later Dr. Trey I still don't think Punk aligns with the vision simply because of what we saw on Monday's Raw There's actually part of me that when I was writing this question out for the show that I was like should I go in this direction like who is most likely to win And I was going to say you know obviously punk Jay Uso or a disqualification from Braun Breaker and Bronson Reed There's a large part of me that thinks that Braun Breaker and Bronson Reed interfere in this match and there is no winner declared whatsoever Based on what we saw on Monday's Raw where you know Braun Breaker is making Adam Pierce say please and then Adam Pierce retaliates and which is an HR violation by the way He then removes them from the battle royal as a punishment and it's like that Braun Breaker and Bronson Reed and Paul Hayman the vision they are not going to take that just like sitting down and just move on to the next week of Monday and at Raw Like there is something in the cards so I think the likelihood of a alignment with CM Punk is less likely because of that But I also feel like that WWE is currently looking at this current stretch of what's taking place on television And I think they believe that they may need to have to put the title on Braun Breaker sooner rather than later That's just kind of like a vibe I'm getting from crowd reactions and the way that he's being booked and he's looking more like the leader of the vision than Braun Breaker
36 Which is odd because Braun Breaker is coming off of a pay-per-view victory over Roman Reigns while I love Braun Breaker But when you look at like the resume on both guys right now like what is Braun Breaker done since joining the vision Like legitimately what is he he's been working as a tag team with Braun Breaker and you could probably make the argument that well Braun Breaker doesn't need to be pushed whatsoever and Braun Breaker does But it's just an odd way that's going on so I feel like at the end of the day to answer my own question I do feel like CM Punk is more compelling and I think Punk drifts away from whatever J.U. So and Jimmy Useler doing right now And moves over towards feeding with the vision for a little bit and I do think that that is a setup for Sir R.I.R. Series War games at the end of month I think that is the direction they still need to go because it's like if it's not the vision involved then how are they going to do this So I think the more compelling champion is CM Punk and I can't even believe I'm saying this but because with Rawlins out Dr. Trey Punk needs this more than J.U. So does Yeah and like what you said there I'm still not like I'm not 100% solace the punch or the vision I don't think you know happy I think the likelihood increase I think backstage You know when they're discussing storyline possibilities I now think that came up where maybe you know before the injury it wasn't coming up Everything should be on the table right now everything should be on the table 100% but I'm with you I think the bronze destroy this match and it gets thrown out and we go all the way to Survivor Series without a world
15 Every way champion and then a Survivor Series we get some kind of for way with the bronze J.U. and Punk and then something happens as well to where you know But yeah, bronze breakers being positioned as the leader even though yes you're absolutely right. Bronson has the big win over Roman but breaker really hasn't needed that big singles win like Bronson's been kind of I don't want to say fodder but filler but like any time it's like there was a hierarchy it was say every kind of feeling it was Seth it was breaker and then it was Reed Reed needed the win to kind of establish themselves where hey if we need to switch brawn and breaker make up a baby face to them brought to be a strong opponent and the crowd buys into it it works I think he needed that level of credibility on his resume where breaker doesn't need it I mean he's over with the crowd Whether as a healer baby face he's kind of in that weird in between mode where the crowd wants to cheer him because he is a freak athlete and he's really he's getting better and better on the microphone so you have in position where he can be your top heal or your top baby face coming out of this but I I think the best way is right now like when your show delves into chaos because of injuries embrace the chaos and kind of run with it we're like hey we cannot get a definitive champion because the vision keeps destroying every opportunity we have so now we have to shove them into this match just so that way we can come out of it with a champion so that's that's kind of how I'm picturing started started has made a plan out where
53 Bronson Bronson come out destroy both guys the matches thrown out and we run through you know November without a world every way champion leading to survivor series We're going to talk about robbery here when it comes to the Seth wrong injury in just a moment I just think one thing that is being robbed of us with the injury to Seth wrong is I do did feel like Bronson breaker was going to get that betista evolution like push where the fans basically thrust him into position of a top star they were really wanted a nice build where they wanted to see Bronson breaker finally take Seth Rollins and go out on his own as a baby face and I think that would have been really really big and I think Bronson breaker is somebody as as you know we talk about who is going to take the mantle who's the QB1 for WWE I think a lot people would say that's Cody Rhodes right now I think Bronson breaker is in that realm of that scene of to reigns to the Bronson breaker like I don't think it went scene a rains to Cody Rhodes or even seen a rains to Seth Rollins I think that is saved and for someone that could like be around for the next decade plus in WWE and as much as I like Cody Rhodes and as much as I like Seth Rollins these are two guys that were established stars that I don't even know if they'll be around for the next 10 years so I do think that we were robbed of a Brons breaker a Brons breaker baby face push and I know this is kind of lead into the booking of Bronson breaker and Bronson read right now but one of the things that I don't like about WWE creative right now is when you watch raw and everybody's like this is the next top star this is the next future star whether it be Paul Heyman saying it
25 Bronson breaker saying it like Bronson reads just in the background and it's just like not in his head and agreement like where's the competitive nature here because if I'm Bronson read I'm a young star I'm thinking I'm the next big top thing in WWE 2 like why is Brons getting the spotlight but I guess from storyline standpoint does not make sense so who would be most compelling as the next world away champion both Dr. Trey not going with CM Punk as he will be taken on Jusso in about nine days or so on peacock which is becoming more like a PLE than a special that would air on NBC so for those wondering it is not on NBC this upcoming or next Saturday this is strictly a peacock show which will be Saturday and it's made a bad that way we could spend more money as wrestling fans going over there now Dr. Trey to Seth Rollins and I mentioned robbery and I brought up Brons breaker and I felt like we were robbed of an eventual big baby face breakout moment for Brons breaker and I still think that is a possibility just how do they maneuver these waves as they move forward here I was looking back at it and there was a lot to talk about on last week's show and we really didn't dig too deep into this but you know I'm starting to think about here we are October 23rd and I'm thinking about our end of the year show which is like eight weeks away oddly enough like we're eight weeks away from Christmas eight weeks away from doing our award show and I'm thinking about wrestler of the year and for me I think in that top upper echelon right now is John Cena Seth Rollins Jusso Gunther Moxley of the likes
58 and I just think about Seth Rollins and I think Seth would have a really really strong case to be the 2025 SRT wrestler of the year at least the men's wrestler of the year I just feel like we were really robbed of a career year for Seth Rollins and when you look at his career 2014 he turns on the shield and he starts having that upward trajectory where he is becoming a top heel on the brand and I felt like 2015 was the breakout year as is now like this is when he wins the World Championship you know defeats Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar with a cash in the century it money in the bank and becomes like the top guy I think that Summer Slam he's taking on John Cena and like a two out of three falls match where I think maybe it was just a like a double match where he was defending the U.S. title in WWE Championship and I think that November he blew out his name which is just odd like here we are again end of the year and it's like we're losing Seth Rollins I felt like this year if there was any doubt whatsoever like we've always looked at as a main adventure we always looked at him as a top star in WWE but I felt like this year him working heel him dominating the raw brand really good feuds really fun matches he's had this year really good character development I felt like this was going to be like the career year where if you had any doubt that this guy is a first-ball health Hall of Famer he's doing it this year and he is taking his character in new places he's gonna help he's been helping elevate new stars and brought to a reading brawn breaker
31 he's being managed by Hall of Famer and Paul Heyman like this was a Seth's a guy and I always thought that we knew he was a guy but it's like no no this is legit Seth's a guy and all I can think about that trade is we reached the end of this year it's like man it's eight weeks left nine weeks left 10 weeks left at the 2025 but man oh man we were robbed I feel like we were robbed his fans of a career year for Seth Rollins what say you on this am I just too much of my feels or were we really robbed of the career for Seth Rollins I mean it's a little bit in the fields I mean because I mean he had an amazing ten month run and to go yeah the last two months would have been great but then you look and go alright he might have had one more month or one more match with Poncus ice made event maybe a war games match as survivor series and then you know we don't really have anything else until rumble so really we're only losing two matches and some promo work between now and in the end of the year so it's still a fantastic year like as you're talking about it I'm like it's crazy because I'm pretty sure he was our wrestler of the year in 2015 and 2016 if I'm not mistaken and that was ten years ago and it's like for him to have another career year ten years later it's pretty incredible like you know I go I always go back to one of the shows you and I did in the early days of SR to you when we went through the shield and kind of lined the guys up like who's a megastar
09 who's in and I always compared Seth to edge and you know he's kind of that guy he's a utility player he can be the top heal he can be the top baby face you know he's in that Chris Jericho world like I don't know if edge and Jericho ever get recognized as being one of the top five or maybe top ten guys in wrestling because they get overshadowed by other people of their generation whether it's Sino or Rock or Austin whoever were those guys fall I feel like Seth is that same kind of guy where he's so good at both sides of the coin that he gets kind of not lost in the shuffle but he's not the guy who's given the ball they always give the ball to the bigger guy the stronger guy the guy with the better blonde hair I don't know what it is he feels like an A superstar but not the guy but when you look at it in time like workhorse guys who can do everything says at the top of the list right there with those guys I mentioned like Jericho and edge a couple things there I love the comparisons I grew with you I think he is more of a Jericho edge soldier than he is a John Sino Rock Austin type I must think it's like can you compare him to even like how undertaker and triple H were at certain points of the out of today is Randy Savage to Hulk Kogan yeah which is not Romans Hulk Kogan it was yeah like if Romans Hulk Kogan you got to have that guy right there with him just in case somebody drops the ball like he's yeah he's there's one A and there's one I don't
48 say he's one B but maybe one C like just a notch below in the pecking order of where Robins at and when Robins sharp shifting down instead of giving the ball to Seth here comes Cody and now here comes Braun Breaker but you always have Seth there as your backup plan I guess to always kind of filter things out is your safety yeah he's he's the unsung hero when you look back at WrestleMania 40 everybody that was involved in that major storyline points of Seth wrong is like the MVP of WrestleMania 40 and they're right yeah absolutely right and you kind of appreciate him because he always delivers to your point 2014 2015 you and I both gave him our wrestler the year and that is the last time he won that on our show almost 10 year well over 10 years now yeah he was the wrestler the year I do love the comparisons there where he's you know he is that it's almost like Shawn Michaels in a way yeah it's a guy it's Mr. Dependable and I just felt like I don't think there's anybody in the last 15 years that I've enjoyed watching character development more than Seth Rollins because it's been so many different incarnations of Seth Rollins it's it's very Chris Jericho like where he was shield Rollins then he was the architect he was in the not the corporation what they call themselves back then the triple agent Stephanie the authority the authority version of him then he broke out as a baby face he was very vanilla then then he was doing the Monday night Messiah stuff which got completely
31 diluted because of the pandemic and I think that was going to be another big breakout for him was doing the Seth freaking Rollins where it was almost like Joker S. Laffey and a lot and dancing completely 180 from the character that we saw on television 10 years prior when baby face was again the workhorse of WWE and I thought the most recent heel run was some of the best stuff yet when you really like look back because I was watching something I was watching the rival I was watching see the most recent punch greatest moments on an old A&E DVR that I had and one of the moments was him versus Rollins from Netflix this year and I'm like oh man like you forget how much of a major player he was throughout the entire year that's like it just sucks I feel terrible for him I think the moment at summer slam where he wasn't injured is now completely lost like people I don't really talk about it but it doesn't have the same impact because eight weeks later he is legitimately hurt and reportedly going to be out until after WrestleMania 42 so it's just a major bummer I'm really bummed out about it because I just I was really looking forward to see what the direction of the stuff was because when you look at like the next 12 to 18 months if he was still healthy I think it would be really really cool time for Seth wrongs of the vision and quite honestly doctor tray and I think this is something that gets forgotten about when you look at these guys and their ages and how long they been the business this could have been like the last full legit run that Seth
01 Rollins had like it would not shock me in the next two to three years if he pops up every now and again but is not as like a full time player like he currently is so I think that's where I just get bummed out about yeah I mean I was doing that too like you think my recovery time coming back after WrestleMania that six months out from now I mean at that point he's in his early forties and we're seeing guys like you know Cena hanging them up at 48 you know well yeah that's a big styles that's a big thing right now not to get you off the but you know see you know 40 styles 45s like the big cutoff now Nakamura once guy down so Jericho I think is almost 60 but like Seth I mean he's hitting that one and you know he was supposed to be in one of the DC or Marvel movies Oh he was supposed to be the last captain America movie you know Becky's getting out and doing movies now too that's kind of like once you hit that early forties range you start looking for your exit strategy and so with that in mind when he comes back I'm sure he's gonna come back a hundred miles an hour to try and cram as much as he can but then after that initial 12 months Yeah I'm with you I think it's going to kind of like three months in month out two months in month out four months in month out like maybe not part time but three quarter time Seth and then until he starts winding it down around 45 yeah it's it's very unfortunate because who knows where things are going to be going for Seth wrongs is past year so I just was like man just feel like we're missing out on a career here and this could have been like a career era
38 everybody like talk about areas nowadays and this could be in a career era a defining era for Seth wrongs in his career in WWE Dr. Trey to go backwards a little bit to Friday's edition of Smackdown Samy Zane US Open Challenge answered by the returning Ely Draganoff who had been out for the last year with I believe a leg injury he was on the raw brand previously he was like evolved with a feud with I think Rick Shea and I don't remember who they were fighting with back then Broughtson Reed made me I couldn't remember but um so Zane and Ely are going at it and I love Ely Draganoff huge fan of Samy Zane and watch on their match and I think they go three segments and as the match went on like holy shit I think I'm watching the best WWE TV match this year and the only way that this gets like cemented is one of the most memorable TV matches this year in WWE is if Ely of Wednesday United States Championship and what do you know Ely Draganoff comes back for a sideback Wednesday United States Championship according to reports Samy Zane was the one that was pushing for Ely to win the title in that match on Smackdown my question for you Dr. Trey is did you get a chance to watch the match one and two if you did see it is it one of the best WWE TV matches you've seen this year because I absolutely loved it I thought it was awesome and this is like the second time in about a month I thought this and it both involved Samy Zane because I was loving Samy Zane versus John Cena before freaking Brock Lesnar ruined that Yeah I actually went back and watched the match like Friday is our hard for me to watch Smackdown live but then when I get other reports and I was like you gotta go check this match out
14 I went and watched it luckily for me when I stream and I can kind of skip the commercials so it kind of runs concurrently and I'm not like stuck for two and a half minutes away for something else to air but yeah it was a fantastic match Ely. I have not been the biggest Ely of fan like he just reminds me of that like plucky underdog who just is super intense but sometimes you look at me like man like the size doesn't always match up it's like having you know a pit ball in the size of a Dotsin sometimes like you're like yeah he's super intense and he's super energetic but he's so small but that match of Samy it was great because those guys match up very well they seem like they had great chemistry for two guys who were working the other for the first time just really spot on phenomenal match Yeah it was an amazing match if you've not come out there and checked it out please do because it was a lot a lot of fun what a great health is match from W. Ely drag it off your new United States champion Dr. Dre switchy years from W. E. to over to AEW at AW Russell Dream this past Saturday from Missouri St. Louis Missouri there's a lot of debate online in regards to the John Moxley Darby Alamatch that may have entered Russell Dream specifically a spot where Moxley is trying to drown John Darby Allen in a fish tank I can't believe I'm saying these words in a wrestling match in 2025 but here we are there's a fish tank filled with water and John Moxley is trying to drown Darby Allen in it
53 Sarah Stock who is a former WWE and AW producer commented about it and then Brody Lee's Widow Amanda Heuber responded as well and they went back and forth you can go check out their argument over Twitter which is not the best place to like actually argue with real people in life is Twitter because that's what Twitter is all about but I digress but it brings up an interesting point the match was at this point it was taking place at midnight and did the spot AW has done so many spots that you could debate go too far but the concern here is that kids are going to be doing this at home you're a father of a young son who is in first grade I have a son who is 16 months old so he isn't really connecting quite yet with what's going on professional wrestling but you as a parent you as a long time wrestling fan do you think AW went too far by doing a spot like this where somebody is trying to drown someone else in a fish tank what I have done at one of my shows no because my shows you can't control who watch through the door you know if a person brings a kid into the show and it's during like that 7 to 9 window of when our shows are really going yeah we're not doing that if you're doing it on a pay-per-view event where people are paying to watch it it's late at night I don't hate it
28 it's a little bit different I guess for me I grew up in a world where I saw people's limos blow up I saw semis get driven through stuff I've seen people electrocuted I've seen people hop on limousines and the car drive off at 55 miles an hour from a funeral home it doesn't bother me as much like that's one thing I the one thing I really agree with man you were always when she said like it's the parents responsibility watch you know what your kids are watching and if they're watching something that you think is over the line turn it off turn the channel to me it didn't bother me because I understand what I'm watching I'm watching professional wrestling it's fictitious it's guys are supposed to be doing stuff safely no different than letting my kid watch a superhero movie and a guy gets thrown out of a window all the way down to the ground it's in the confines of fiction the only difference is it's live and there's actual stuntmen so you know performing these stuns so I don't give and you know me I've been one of the biggest critics of AW for a long time I don't hate the spot because of where they position it on the show if it been the opening match maybe I come down the harder than on them but to be that late in the evening for on if you're if my six year old is up watching AEW midnight I'm already kind of failing as a parent that they need to be in bed getting ready to get their rest so I wouldn't do the spot at my local independent wrestling show because of the fan friendly nature that we advertise
03 but for a company to do this on a pay-per-view on a weekend at midnight I don't fault AEW for doing it yeah I'm with you Dr. Trey most children shouldn't be up at midnight watching this match anyway and we went into this thinking that was going to be violent and brutal and that's what it was anybody who watches AEW would think that as well so I don't know I am not of the like that's you got a parent better if you're so concerned about it basically like you got to tell you because this is like what my parents did when I was growing up when when we were doing wrestling and stuff is obviously they would do the don't try this at home campaign which WWE does not do anymore and it used to be on every episode because I think a kid like paralyzed his friend doing the rock bottom and WWE was sued and my parents were like don't ever wrestle with your brother don't do this stuff because you're gonna hurt him and he's gonna be paralyzed and then you're gonna have to deal with it and you're gonna have that on your conscious that never stopped me from putting the finger for like locker to the sharp shoot on my little brother but I still did it anyway I mean it wasn't anything there but the fish you got to tell your your kids when they're watching the stuff that this is you know scripted this is not real you cannot do the double arm DDT you cannot Superman put someone and you certainly cannot put your friends head in a fish tank and drown them so it's it's the age old question that if you are a parent and you allow your kids to watch professional wrestling you do not let them
37 and that reenact these moves and you explain to them what's going on because that is what my parents did to me my entire time when I was watching wrestling during the new generation of WF and and rock and wrestling prior to that is that this is not real like watch they're stopping their feet when they punch their slap in their legs and that's how it was told to me and that's what you got to do with your kids as well so I get the perspective I just don't agree with it and parents have to parent when their children are watching professional wrestling so there you go. I got to tell you a funny story so we we went to Academy Sports just built a new location in our town never been in an Academy Sports so we were walking through they have the MMA area in the back where they got the punching bags and everything else and little Sammy Franklin is running around and he's throwing kicks in every kick he throws he's legs slapping on his kicks I'm like oh he's training well and then he runs up there's a big punching bag he runs full speed jumps and throws a punch and I'm like man my kid at six knows how to leg slap in Superman punch already I think I've raised this kid pretty well in the world of professional wrestling to know that stuff is okay to do just don't drown your brother in a fish tank so I think we're I think we're doing okay Jeff Yeah yeah you just got to like parent parents half to parent that was a real glass was the they saved the aquarium was made of real glass it was sugar well I was sugar glasses I would they use something like that yeah yeah that's what they always say
13 keep it up with Russell dream doctor Tray Samojo in the ops turn heel post magic a tankman on a page with hangman retains over Samojo I had predicted or thought that maybe Swarth Striclin was gonna be back at the show there were some you know stuff out in the news that made you leave to believe that but then a story is come out this week that does where it could be back by the end of the year A.W. things but he's not coming back anytime soon to me doctorate Samojo in the ops turning heel moving forward make someone sense because quite honestly hangman page needed someone and something to fight again so I'm down with the heel turn despite how popular the ops were what say you doctor try yeah I'm okay the Joe's like we we talk about set Joe's the same kind of guy Joe super over the baby face Joe works really well to heal Hobbs is kind of the same way Hobbs is basically just a 25 year old version of what Samojo can be and then my question is Shabbat is Shabbat has always been my honor and loyalty that's always been his characters been I don't know is he ever really a heel in New Japan this might be the first I don't believe he was now yeah this might be the first real kind of he'll turn and then here's the thing is this where we get hook back to help out hangman against the ops because we saw that tension me hook and Joe with Joe replacing hook in the ops so it gives some meat to this storyline as well to see if hook plays into it and now you know hangman has obstacles to face which is how you make a good baby face title run they did kind of like tie off the hook and op stuff by having like hook meet with Samojo and say basically they're going to own different direction now hook has been tagging up with Kingston so maybe Kingston and hook pair up with hangman
54 to take on the ops I actually wonder dr. Trey because as long as it's been going on like the last eight weeks or so which has been really nice to see it's a nice slow burn on a w television part of me is wondering two things here one I think we are on the verge of getting a young bucks baby face turn especially after what we saw at wrestle dream when the bucks refused to like kick Jurassic Express while they were down Kenny Omega was trying to plead with them to go help out Jurassic Express against the Don Calis family they refused I think they did a segment on BTE where Nick Jackson's son said that they were bad people who deserved it part of one I want I think we're going to be a face earn of the young bucks will be tagging with FTR this saturday on collision and I wonder if they align themselves with hangman page to take on the ops dr. Trey I don't know if it's there yet I think we're more likely to give them a lining with Kenny against the Calis family so like you're building up you're building up you know Fletcher and everybody else in the group you're going to get you know Tekashka baby face turn here at some point or O'Cotta baby face turn no no not O'Cotta this is all Tekashka did yeah no I agree I'm just saying like you know you know how you do is you think you think they're going to go one way and they'll flip and go the other way but yeah I think this is building to you know bucks Omega Tekashka against the Calis family hangman can use other people like when you're the top guy you don't want to get overshadowed by the other people in your group
36 and as much we love hangman Kenny and the bucks are bigger stars than hangman page sidebar I am loving that's a cashka O'Cotta chemistry between the both of them that clothes on on dynamite this past Wednesday was hilarious and I was totally against entertaining funny O'Cotta because I love the rainmaker from New Japan but he is one F and funny money father he is really really funny dr. Trey and it's timing it's timing it's so good it's perfect which makes you wonder if this is like the real O'Cotta behind the scenes but like Tekashka being so irritated and Don Calis and Kyle Fletcher going out to calm down when O'Cotta knows he's getting under the skin of him and the way that they interact in that tag team match it wrestle dream I mean I thought it was really really good stuff to the point where I think I think A.W. should let this go for a little bit longer I don't think they should have merely turned into a feud here like I would let this go for a little bit I truly thought and I like Brodito a lot I truly thought they should have gotten an opportunity in row with the tag team titles because I love strange bad fellows mixmosh tag teams like this even though they're in the same stable I think it would have been really good funny gold on A.W. television very entertaining stuff See I like it because it breaks the stereotype in a sense where it's like oh it's two Japanese guys they should automatically get along it's like but that's not how it works in America just because you and I are both Americans doesn't mean we agree on everything so yeah let the older guy keep poking the young guy
13 until the young guy gets fed up and then you can do it that way I kind of like it like you know Calis being the head of the family kind of helping control the egos but yet you got the inner poking is going along and I guess it kind of breaks that stereotype of like you know oh these two guys are Japanese we have to pair them together no you don't you can let them like keep poking at each other until it turns into a really good feud That segment where they were celebrating Don Calis is birthday and they played the video of Tukashka giving the birthday message to Don Calis because he was in Japan when the IWGP Reliveway Championship and the entire time Okata is holding the remote control ready to turn it off and he eventually turns it off and then everybody looks at me and goes oops wrong button I mean that just is great it's extremely entertaining stuff so lots of good stuff going on with the IW here as we close out the rest of 2025 Dr. Trey this Saturday we have another PLE it's a long time favorite of mine from a title standpoint as will be NXT Halloween havoc the old WCW pay-per-view take you place in Halloween NXT Halloween havoc this Saturday from the Finlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley Arizona we have several matches of the Carter we've ricky-sates defending NXT Championship against Trick Williams JC Jane defending NXT Women's Championship against Tatum Paxley the Hardy Boys defending NXT Tag Team Championship against Dark State in a broken rules match which is a regular like false count anywhere match it is not a cinematic match which might hardly come out how to come out and say
44 Ethan Page defends the NXT North American Championship in a day of the dead match against a triple a triple a all Latin American Champion Alheodel Dr. Ragnar Jr Zarya defends Soul Rookas NXT Women's North American Championship against Blake Monroe as Soul Rookas out with injury and then Javion Evans and Leon Slater take on Mr. Guana and La Parca in just like a weird let's throw this on the card match with those four guys I'm very entertaining just like let's throw it all together Dr. Trey your thoughts on the card and match or matches that you're most looking forward to this Saturday feels like a Hodgepodge card I guess you're just kind of like you're going alright a couple of these matches make sense but then a couple of these are kind of out of nowhere like I don't expect Slater or Evans to turn on the other one but it's like alright I wasn't having a high flying fun silly tag team match and be a sense of Tatum Paxley to challenge for the women's title with you know the stuff with the calling is like okay well how's that factor in you know you got Zarya defending the North American title for her partner because she's injured it's like it kind of feels like a Hodgepodge thing like with the Saints Dr. Wagner stuff kind of enters because it's kind of been on a bunch of different shows you saw the AAA you see an NXT that's it me it's St. and Trink Williams I'm excited about that match because this could be Tricks Swan song in NXT
20 if they so decide move move forward that and the anointing of Ricky Saints as the new kind of face of NXT and of course you know you throw the Hardy boys in a broken broken rules match with Dark State I mentioned I like almost every single person in dark state like three of the four guys I think it be huge stars who's the guy that you don't think can be okay name I'm off because I know there's a second sugars I think it's a huge star yep Osiris Osiris and Cutler James those are the three so you don't think Dion Lennox can be a star yeah Dion Lennox reminds me too much of uh uh oh the guy from man uh from um all the guy that was an announced aron rob them became a wrestler does the whole uh davido tunga no the guy the the guy that does the gimmick in a w now the uh a mace who which is uh yes yeah my sauté yes like deon let x reminds me just a little bit of mace too much where's like he had he looks the part but i just think he's lacking in now mace now has charisma he's learned it a little bit i like him much more now than i did at any point prior letting's just to me feels like he's missing that in fact or the other three guys i think it all be huge stars yeah i think uh osiris griffin has the look to be a star um i don't know about the rest of them i think cutler jane's there was a weird pattern of time where they were making them do
54 like uh jokes about like basically ramming things into people's you know area which was in i time color jane color jane's i watched on lfg there's a rope yeah there's there was there was the while he was also on a show on roco where he showed them coming in and doing the tryouts oh yes i remember that with like john cnod on it yeah and then bj ray who they just released was a was another one of those guys and then the you know going on to lfg and now so i and plus he's a duke guy so carolina so you know i always have an affinity for those guys but the fact that he i mean the guy's six five amateur wrestling background shown he as personality like he's almost in the vein of the creed brothers were like if they do the right thing with them he could break out of be a huge star if not he's just a Curtis axle type guy to have on the roster for 10 years that you can help build other people so uh say qua sugars i think has the most personality but he might be just a bit undersized but i i i think that charisma kind of shines out of him yeah i don't know i'm not really completely so long the dark state guys it's kind of fun when you look at this card and and you just like nonchalantly mentioned that the hearty boys are on it and they're not even signed to w8 and they're defending the annexi tag team cheap chip and they're bringing their broken characters to annexi which is like very like quiet right now it's like this should be a bigger deal it's the it's the broken character not the woken
28 not the woken character which he did a lute too he mentions woken uh from on Tuesday's annexi i'm actually looking forward to the jc jaintain impact of the match i think tain impact could walk out of there with the annexi women's championship um i have a feeling that there could be because there's six matches on this card and they typically go two hours i just have this feeling that there's gonna be a major angle in that zarya blakeman romatch i think you could make a case that zarya just lays down and costs soul ruk of the championship i think soul ruk is not legitimately injured and this is all storyline and that way it gives like the rest of the show plenty of time like they've been teasing zarya soul ruk of breaking for some time i think there's no better place to do it than having her legitimately screw over her best friend and so i would blake and roan just literally hand her the annexi women's north american championship so plus i think this could be like a very under the radar fun show dr. tri plus i think you know blake in her character as much as they'd like to try make her a badass she needs the muscle behind her and i just think for some reason i've always thought zarya would work better as a heal oh great just has that yeah she just has that bold nircono luna the shan type vibe jarr so i'm like it makes sense for her to kind of pair herself up with blakeman roe especially as blake really now is kind of she's used to the waters of nxc and as you start to see her kind of do the ricky sance thing north american title you know and eventually women's title so i think it makes a lot sense so they do that route you know it makes a ton
59 of sense for her just a screw over soul because soul and and blakeman roe we're really just kind of getting that rivalry going and i think that could give us some legs down the line as well plus you go bring in somebody else to have souls back and you know pair of four women two of them are already really over with the audience yeah it's it's i think it's going to be a fun show dr. tri so i'm really looking forward to it um it's funny because you mentioned the match that you're looking most forward to is saints and trick Williams uh to me i i think that's like my fourth or favorite match that i'm looking forward to on the card overall i think it's more based on storyline i i just want to see if as much as i banged on trick Williams all last year i think he's really come on strong the last like six months i agree i want to see how it correlates in the ring though i'm still out on that you know but like now i feel like he could i mean he looks to part he acts to part he's got everything down the ring work obviously Jeff i mean we can i mean we've seen guys become made of itters that couldn't really work a great match so it's like he's one of those guys that you're like yeah he's got everything else it ring experience i mean getting better the rangers comes with time but i i love the baby face in the heel though arguing though over who dresses better and who has more style like that like it and we remind him of book or tee and edge over the hair shampoo commercial i do feel like trick is getting some good promos at a ricky saints as well which is um yeah not been as much as we saw in a w i think ricky still trying to find his character at least bringing it out on the annex scene so
