0:00 It's to. Welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's edition a snow Real Dot Show Episoumber seven and sixty three, ver September twenty six, twenty twenty four. Welcome to this week's edition of ass r T You. I am one After the show, I am Jeff Peck joined every single week from my host one only about Troy Franklin, Doctor Trey. There cinematic segments here to stay my friend.
0:41 Oh god, I I really do. Like I call me crazy, but that was one of my favorite things during the pandemic and to kind of bring them back, and you know, nobody produces those things like like WWE, so I really really enjoy them. And uh, heck, I learned this week that Cody Rhodes moved to California at eighteen and took acting lessons, So hey, gotta get your money, your money's worth out of that stuff somehow. Yeah, let's get right into it. So the SmackDown segment, the face to face confrontation between Roman Rains and Cody Rhodes at Georgia Tech University, which was tipped off earlier that day by wrestle votes on Twitter, said that they had filmed a segment. He didn't or she didn't. I believe he's a he wrest of bolts now he's doing radio with Bill after. But he didn't say like it was gonna air on SmackDown that night or whatever. But I had already been tipped off on him. And they aired the segment on SmackDown, and I watched it and I was riveted. I was entertained. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and of course all things that is social media nowadays, you saw a lot of people that loved it. You saw people that disliked it, and I was like, man, I really like this, So let's talk about on this week.
1:57 This is a show. I want to hear what doctor Treace say about open it up with the show. It seems like you were on the same plane field as I am on this one, Doctor Trey. I love the segment and I thought it was awesome. I love that they are doing these NXT styled segments now on the main roster of Ron SmackDown. What I mean by that is Jeremy Borash, who was one of the people responsible for directing producing this segment between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, would do it all the time down in NXT, especially over the last like three or four years, you've seen it like Legato del fount Tasma, we do a bunch of stuff that was cinematic. The DiAngelo family does a bunch of stuff that's cinematic. It was things that you typically see from NXT that's now carried itself up over to the main roster. And I loved it. So this is nothing that has been kind of new, but new to the ron SmackDown audiences for those that watch NXT.
2:55 I thoroughly enjoyed it, Doctor Trey. I was heavily entertained. They don't need to do this all the time. They need to do it when it's right and justified. And I thought this was one of those situations where it was Yeah. I thought it made a lot of sense because, I mean, you have your arguably your two faces of your company that were involved in a two year long rivalry culminating a WrestleMania and now they're teaming up against their common enemy and we needed some questions answered. I thought this was a very logical way to do it, because it's it's gonna be impassioned. And as much as you and I both love live television. Doing stuff like this allows you to get your point across clearly and concisely, and you can articulate it to the audience that you know exactly the way you want it done. You know, you and I do this podcast and we do a live We don't do multiple takes, we don't do a whole lot of editing. It is literally what we say comes out boom, goes right to the audience. You know, there are times that I wish I'm like, man, I wish I could go back and tweak that or change that, or I wish I didn't say that. This is just that way for the audience to actually understand why Cody's doing this, why Rome is doing this, and that makes a lot of sense. And you know, Jeremy Borash maybe one of the most underrated wrestling minds. I mean, you go back to stuff. I mean, he was one of the focal points during you know, the Hardy deletion campaign
4:27 in TNA. You know, it was him and Matt Hardy that put a lot of that stuff together. And when he came to WWE, I was hoping he would be utilized in the right way, and it seems like he's found his niche and is able to, you know, kind of take what he took in TNA and bring it to a stage like w W. It's being really well done. P w Insider reported via Wrestling Purists on Twitter quote Jermy Borash produced the Roman Rings Cody Rhodes face off that aired on last night SmackDown. This was written on Saturday Morning. WA's director of character development, Rob Fee was also on the scene for the segment. Is He and Borash have been collaborating on projects and segments like this as of late. In addition to Jeremy Borash and Rob, Paul Hayman was involved in the face to face segment between Rains and Roads on last Night SmackDown and personally directed the talent for the scene. Again, I loved it.
5:19 For those who did not enjoy it or don't want it in their wrestling, I simply ask why if you're one of those people hit us up on X at SRT you podcast, because I'm genuinely confused as to why people would not be interested in this type of entertainment or way to explain a storyline or further a storyline, because it's what you see on television. It's a dramatized scene. It's cinematic, it's different, it's outside the box. It checked all the boxes and it answered questions that we were looking for as to why they would do this is their apprehension there is there is still disdain for one another, but they see a common enemy. And the enemy of the enemy of my enemy is my friend is playing out on our screen right now, and it's it was great.
6:08 I mean, if there was one little tweak I would say about the entire thing, Doctor Trey is. I wasn't the biggest fan of the music involved, like front and back of it, probably could have done without, but I understand why they do it. But I may have tweaked that one thing. But from start to finish thoroughly entertain it checked all the boxes for me, and I enjoyed it as if you were watching from home, and I want to see more of it going forward. Yeah, I mean, there's only so many Creed songs we can use in. WWE WWE desire please bring it. Back, like I'll get here, I'll get here, as like Jeff pet going God. I wish they'd use my sacrifice.
6:49 You are with me, you know, But I like, yeah, like the music I mean, I mean since Jim Johnson left, I mean, the music for WW hasn't been up to I don't think the music's gotten better since Jim Johnson left. The company or they let him go. But yeah, I mean there's always little small tweaks and things like that. Like for one, here's the one thing I like. I like that they alluded to Roman Reigns as college football career. That's something we've never touched on really in the development of Roman Reigns as a character over the last ten years on TV. Was his football career, and that was something that they went to right away and it made a lot of sense. And I love that Paul Hayman's there because nobody knows the history of Paul Haym but those history of wrestling as well as Paul Hayman, especially when it comes to the Samoans and the Rhodes family, Like, I mean, he can nail this stuff. I mean, as much as you know Roman and Cody our second borderline, third generation superstars, like they don't know everything their dads did, but you know, Paul Hammond's been around for a lot of their father's careers as well. He can tie it all up. Make it look pretty and then you got you know, like Jeremy Boresh there, who's done a lot of crazy stuff in wrestling. When it comes to the cinematic stuff, I thought it was really well done. The music is when it is because it's just like what we haven't had a really good theme song since Bobby Route, so you know it is.
8:11 What it is true. That is for true. Though, I would say the new Intercontinental Champion, who we will talk about here next, Jayuso, has a very catchy tune. So Doctor Trey and I both like the cinematic segments here want to see more of it. When it's done appropriately, it can really transcend very well with the viewer at home, and I enjoyed it. Again, if you're someone that did not hit us up on Twitter at SORG podcast, because I have no idea why someone would not like that, I mean I literally saw which it is, it's X, it's Twitter. It makes sense. People were like this was garbage, and I was like what really, I didn't get that at all. So we have a new Intercontinental Champion, Doctor Treys jay Usso, which I will say surprisingly defeated bron Breaker this past Monday night, and I say surprisingly personally, because I thought bron Breaker was going to get a decent run with a championship. Well, I think it was a little over fifty days. But when you think about things, you take a step back. Jayus So being crowned the un You Account champion makes a ton of sense. He's one of the top merchandise sellers with the company right now.
9:10 He is certainly on a swing to go upwards on this trajectory, and they needed to do something. They needed to put some sort of championship on him. It's reminiscent of La Night on the SmackDown Sign, who has a ton of popularity, and that's how you're seeing it play out on the raw side. But when I take a further step back dout to Trey, I tend to think about where we were four years ago, twenty twenty pandemic, great times, awesome year. People loved it, couldn't do jack shit and just stay at home because of a near flu like symptoms. Nonetheless, you've got jay Uso. He gets a title shot, a random title shot for the Hell in a Cell pay per view in October. I think he won a Battle royal to win that, right, or it was like a six pack challenge. I couldn't remember what it was. Nonetheless, he goes from somebody that wasn't utilized on television for the last like four or five months because Jimmy Uso was out from injury. He got injured during the russell Mania thirty six Triple Threat Ladder match for the tag team titles that did not involve any tag teams for those that are historians, and jay Usa was like regulated to background scenes. I remember they were doing like the Intercontinental Title Tournament which Daniel Bryan aj Styles were in the finals on that one, and like jay us was in the background. We're in like an USO's hat and he wasn't showcased on television, but out of nowhere, he is now the number one contender for the w Championship against Roman Reigns at Helen a Cell And it did not make sense. But as at the time, and then as time went on, you saw the character development of jay Uso really take off. You
10:43 saw jay Uso become more confident. The inn ring skills were always there, the personality was always there, but you got to see that showcase through really really well, and over the last year and a half, when he turned on the blood Line, left the blood Line, became his own man main Evan jay Uso on the Monday Night Rod Brand. He's really taken off. He is very super over with the fans. He is extremely popular. He is very confident in the ring, He is very confident in the microphone. He is very confident in his character. And I watched that segment crowd reaction. It isn't Mick Foley winning the WE Championship in nineteen ninety nine surprisingly over the Rock on Raw, but it was up there. I mean that crowd reaction was great. I got goosebumps, which is rare for me to get nowadays in professional wrestling.
11:31 It was an emotional moment. It was a very cool moment. I love the stuff they aired on social media post Raw because they were running up against the block there because they need to get to Law and Order SVU very very quickly, and you can just see it was all genuine and heartfelt, and to me, it was watching the end of this four year climbing away where jay Usa went from low mid carter tag team wrestler. So what I never looked at is that could be more, anything more than a tag team star Doctor Trey to one of the most over popular stars in all of professional wrestling. How do you look back at these last four years of jay Uzo now that he's our Intercontinental Champion. Yeah, I mean, it's it's a pretty incredible run. Because when you're part of a tag team, it's it's really hard, especially if we've been in a highly successful arguably the greatest tag team of the modern era for WWE, especially when your partner's your twin brother, to break out, it's not really breaking out of your out of the partner's shadow, like you have to get the fans to separate you from your brother. I mean, the one thing with the usas you and I talked about this for a long time, I had a hard time telling them apart for years because they dressed the same, they had the same hairstyles, the whole thing. You saw them gradually start to form their own characters. And then you know, Jimmy and Jay have both had their issues. You know, one might it might get arrested, one's injured, you know, and then they just didn't wwe didn't to do with him without the
13:01 other one. And it kind of took that match with Roman to kind of define who jay Uso can be. And he's been very very smart about this because he's taken different elements. And you know, I've alluded this to this with Cody Rose and some other guys over over the last few years, is take some elements from people who were highly successful and make it your own. Like I see a lot of macho man Randy Savage in this jay Uso, and the crowd response is natural. He's a great ring worker, his charismas come out. I mean, the only thing I hate is the nickname. I hate saying main event jay Huso because it's just kind of a cheesy nickname. But outside of that, this run has been fantastic and this match was like you've been Like you mentioned the Elia Night thing. It was one of those things where like if they don't pull the trigger now, and they brought up several times during the match, which kind of foreshadowed the conclusion for me. But this was like a six title shot, you know, at a singles titling add one one yet like if you weren't going to pull the trigger now, when were you going to do it? But the crowd reaction was great, The whole night was great, just a really really cool moment for somebody who's basically gone out of their way to bust their ass and get on this grind and do something uncomfortable and make their own mark in the world of professional wrestling.
14:24 What do you think is the long term here for what is the ceiling for jay Uso? Is he future world champion material? Because I think he is, But I'm also concerned, like did we potentially reach the ceiling because I look back at these last four years and the growth and development of him as a star, as a wrestler, as a character has been amazing. But it's the same thing I think about with La Night. It's like, I look at those two guys and I go, can I ever see them as a world champion? And I think in most years I would say yes, I do. But I also think that the depth of the roster is so strong right now that it is not a slam dunk short of thing that Jay Usso or even l A Knight, who is you know, very interestingly here just kind of morphed into this conversation as well, because I do feel like they're the same person on different brands, could be a world champion at some point.
15:16 I think both these guys, and you know, we've always regarded the you know, the Intercanyle title, the US title is like stepping stones, like, hey, if you can have a successful run here, it shows that you can be a potential world champion. I think sometimes it takes, you know, luck of the draw, like you might get a run where hey, all of a sudden, like a couple guys are injured, the positions have kind of switched around the pecking order, so to speak, to switched around, and all of a sudden, you're elevated into that main event spot and you get that opportunity to be world champion. I mean, I don't think you and I can ever say that they ever thought that Daniel Briant could be a world champion back when he came to WWE, you know, and he got his opportunity see him punk to a degree, Jeff already to a degree. But they were able to capitalize on their moments and the crowd reaction. The crowd got behind them and they became undeniable that they got that spot. And I think Jay and even l Knight to a degree or in that where it's like, could I see them as a world champion yes, would it take some unfortunate situations for them to get put into that spot. Probably it may be a little bit of you know, just bad luck for some other guys for them to get that opportunity. But both guys are are well liked by the crowd. La Knight looks like your prototypical world champion. Jay USO's a little bit that, you know, kind of like out there outside the box mentality. But I do think both guys could be a world champion,
16:47 But I just don't think like that's in their cards. If you laid them out, if WW said, hey, who hasn't been a world champion that we think we can put the belt on, I don't know if they're at the top of that list, but they're at least on the list now. It's very cool to see the old school fan of me. The Intercontinental Championship was typically reserved for, you know, the workhorse title which you always hear and Dad Biwie videos, whatever, but it was also a stepping zone. It was an opportunity to see if somebody could run as a world champion, and people that had this upward momentum you would see all the time have that championship whether it be Brett Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Steve Austin as and and you're starting to see that return here with Gunther and Sammy Zain recently hold the Intercontinental Championship. Obviously, Gunther is the world champion. I think Sammy Zein is a world champion material.
17:38 I think with the Intercontinental title, in the United States Championship, I think l A. Knight and Jay Usso if they are able to succeed with these championships, these secondary titles, this could be a true test if they can run with the World Championship and continue to build a popularity as well, which is an old school style of booking, which is very fun to see during Triple H's time now as the head of creative for World Rest Entertainment, because I feel like that is something that has been kind of lost over the last fifteen twenty years. Obviously, there's been times where that has happened, Doctor Trey pointing out some really good examples like Jeff Hardy holding the championship. I think of CM Punk hold the Intercontinental Championship one time as well. You know, these are people that use those opportunities as stepping zones. Chris Jericho when he held the Intercontinental Championship a little bit later on in the two thousands, that was the use as a stepping zone.
18:22 So I like that it's back. It could be utilized as that stepping stone championship or as an opportunity to help elevate a star as someone that is one to keep an eye on, like a bron breaker. But I'm very, very happy for Juso. His four year clim has been incredible and I don't think I've seen someone develop so well in professional wrestling over the last four years like jay Uso truly has. So congratulations to him for overcoming the last obstacle or the most recent obstacle in being crowned Intercontinental Champion. Keeping with wwee here Doctor Trey, as we see a new error big again with Jusos Intercontinental Champion. We saw an error close this past Tuesday night as NXT on USA ended. NXT goes to the CW starting this Tuesday. They'll be in Chicago seeing punks that I don't know if anybody has heard about that yet, but you know, I was watching NXC this past week. I saw the video they did to recap the last five years on the USA Network, and I was like, man, this is such a big deal that they're this error is coming to a close, because from fourteen to nineteen, twenty fourteen to twenty nineteen, NXT was just a one hour show on the WA network that got a cult like following. It got moved to two hours and on the USA Network to compete with AW a month prior to AW Dynamite launching, which we'll talk about their five year anniversary ad next week's show, and that was set
19:52 to compete for the Wednesday Night Wars. They ended up losing that they got moved to Tuesday nights. We had Triple H have health issues. The two point zero era began, uh Triple H return, Black and Gold was back, and it had its a lot of ups, it had a lot of downs, and it was starting to ride and it is riding a really good wave of momentum that is reminiscent of the days of NXT that I truly enjoyed during that twenty fourteen to twenty nineteen stretch. When you look back at the last five years, Doctor Trey, what do you think about when it comes to the NXT brand? Ultimately, was this the right move. I feel like this was the right proper step for the brand to continue to grow. Was there more ups than downs?
20:35 Was there more downs than ups? How do you look back at these last five years as they shift from the USA network to the CW network. I mean, it was the right move for the growth of NXT. I mean, obviously, you've got an extra hour of television, You've got a little bit broader audience. You know, you got to kind of experience for those for those younger talents, a little bit of what you would experience on you know, on raw or backdown, and it was kind of you started seeing more of the main roster people matriculate back to NXT during that time because you're in a competition with another company, where when it was just on the network, they weren't really competing with anybody else. Overall, though, I still think it's there's more downs than there were ups in comparison to their time on the network, because I felt like when they were just on the W network, it was just incremental growth the entire time. There weren't really any I mean, obviously there's gonna be slight bumps in the road, but you know, the triple h you know, health issue and then the rebranding, you know that that kind of messed the show up for a while. It took quite a while for some of the fans, Like I'm one of them. I dipped out of the show for like a year because it was so bad. And over the last you know, six months, year, year and a half, it's slowly gotten better in it's and you're right, it's getting closer to that premiere black and Gold era
22:07 that we saw like on the network and then when it first came over to USA. But you know, for the most part, like to me, I still think of NXT being a WW network show because of how bad that two point zero re rebranding was when it was under the Vince and Bruce Pritcher control there, you know, right around twenty twenty one, twenty twenty two. Those early shows on the USA network from like September to I want to say, like well just before the Pandemic movie March. But there was strekes there from like September December where it was like really really fun and cool and I had a really good vibe to it. I miss mar Ronaldo, I missed Beth Phoenix, I missed Nigel McGinnis. I think Vic Joseph and Booker t have done a good job, but I feel like that Free Person booth was one of the best in all of professional wrestling, and we clearly see that with Nigel McGuinness now in aw you in so many ways, both on the microphone and now back in the Squared Circle as well.
23:03 That was a ton of fun. And what's crazy is I think there was one period of time where it was like in twenty nineteen you had there was like a segment where it had all the Undisputed era William Regal and Keith Lee in a shot. And then two years later, fast forward to Dynamite and they did this backstage segment where you had all the Undisputed era William Regal and Keith Lee and it was just mind blowing to see that because it felt like WW retreated so much and there was so much damage done to the NXT brand at that point that it was hard to process and hard to continue to move forward. As an NXT fan. I remember that last show just before the World shut Down on Wednesday night they aired in the PC, and remember Charlotte fair Flair showed up to take out Ria Ripley or whatever, and it was a really cool crowd in the PC, a lot of fun. It's a really good show. And then after that thing's changed, things definitely got weird during the pandemic for professional wrestling as a whole when they returned and then they were trying to find their footing as two point zero. I mean it, it was tough. That was a tough watch for a period of time. It certainly felt like it was a Vince Rickman driven w which is something at that point I think we've all learned, I think a majority of us have learned is outdated at this point and not something that fans wanted. And NXT prior to that was everything that fans wanted. NXT losing the fan base during
24:36 the pandemic definitely hit hard for them. I think was hard to fur their storylines. I think it was hard to gain the same excitement for the matches and the segments and the storylines that you had in the past. But overall, they've they've really done a good good job over the last year and a half, the last year especially to really find that voice, to find that confidence again as a brand, as a standalone brand, and I'm excited for them to move to the CW. But this I think if I looked back at the last five years, doctor Trey, and it's like, Okay, how do you summarize these last five years NXC on USA, I would say it was just growth. There was good growth, there was really bad growth. There was substantial growth, there was growth that went backwards, there was growth that really went forwards.
25:21 But that's the word that I would use, is just growth for the NXT brand. And I'm excited to see where things go now with CW. There's been reports out there to that WA wants to put a little bit more focused on the NXT brand, but we've heard that before, so hopefully that happens again and actually stays this time. But overall, what would be your way that you summarize if you had to pick a word for the last five years in the USA network for NXT. Yeah, I like growth because in my head I was thinking of like if you've ever planted a vine and you watch the buy and grow, you don't really control where it goes. It can go up, it can go left, right, it can go but you can get into some bad stuff and you gotta trim it and that's how I kind of figured, that's how I kind of look at NXT on USA. There was a lot of growth, but like you said, some of it was bad growth. Some of it was you know, this thing's getting into my sewage line, this thing is getting this thing's going all over the place. I gotta trim this back. And I immediately go to Tony D'Angelo because when Tony d first came on the scene doing the whole you know, it was much more of an Italian monster g but it was so prototypical, so gimmicky and bad. Like I remember you and I talked about off air. I'm like, this character is horrible, But you've seen the growth of Tony D over this time and now you're like, yeah, I buy into Tony d. I buy into the family. I like the whole thing. So it is one of those things where like some growth is growth for the sake
26:53 of growth is not always good because it can be like mold, it'll just be bad. But overall, I think that they've grown the product, they've grown the brand, and now when people come up to the main roster, they have a little bit more of a following than they did. You know, maybe just on the network era. Yeah, that is true. I mean ultimately it helped further the NXT brand and for those who weren't watching the WA network if they were subscribers or not, and then they got an opportunity to see in the USA network. It allowed us an opportunity to see a lot of stars grow there's that word again and carry it over to the main roster. I mean. One of those very early episodes on NXC and USA end of December, Riada Ripley defeating SHANEA Basler, which is a very memorable moment from this era where she's being hoisted up on the on people's shoulders that are on the ring, celebrating. And then look at where Rita Ripley is today and she is one of the most over and maybe the most over professional wrestling star in the entire industry today, which is really really exciting to see. She got to start at NXT and helped elevate the brand with the NXC on USA era. So that comes to that has come to a close as of this past Tuesday, they moved to the CW starting this upcoming Tuesday, again seeing Punk guest referee for the trick Williams Ethan Page Match, and you've also got Roxane Perez taking on Julia All on a very pay per view heavy edition of NXT on the CW network. Keeping with the USA network Dot Trey.
28:22 One of the shows for WWE that recently moved over there was Friday Night SmackDown. A report came out coming to us from Wrestle Votes that w will look to add a third hour to w SmackDown at the start of the new year. USA Network will broadcast the new three hour version of SmackDown beginning on Friday, January third. This would be more in line with what we saw with the w RAW early thoughts here at Doctor Trey on SmackDown potentially and I'm just gonna throw well, I'll say, reportedly moving to three hours starting on starting in January twenty twenty five. I mean, it makes sense from a revenue standpoint, because you're losing an hour of advertising revenue by only doing a two hour shows compared to Robbie and three and USA you know, they know they're getting in bed with I mean, this is not foreign concept to them. They're like, hey, we know what we can draw with a three hour show.
29:15 We may not know what that those ratings will be on a Friday night as opposed to Monday nights, but we do know what we can charge for, you know, for advertising, so it makes sense on that end. I'm also happy about it because one of the concerns we had when they when we first announced that Raw was going to go to two hours was, Hey, there's a lot of guys that you know, have been built up because of that extra hour. Hey, at least now we know that they may have to shift some people around on the rosters to fill that extra hour over on the SmackDown, But that's the show that kind of needs some extra fill in, like you and I have been complaining about the Cody Rhads title run because they haven't built anybody else up to really challenge them with that extra hour of programming. Now you can kind of build up some new stars on SmackDown and maybe get some more a little bit more compelling television, because I think SmackDown may be the weakest of the three shows over the past six months.
30:11 It's amazing how much I have flipped on this entire thing. I mean, back in the day when they moved to three hours, I absolutely hated it. You hated it, I hated it. It did not make any sense. The way that Vince handled those three hours, or creative under Vince for three hours was like a mixed mosh. It was like no further character development stuff that again wand and carry forward. But under the Triple H creative regime, Doctor Trey, it has made a ton of sense. The stuff on Raw, Like, think about all the wrestlers who have been able to get more TV time that we may not have seen if it was for two hours. Bronson Reid comes to mind, American made comes to mind. It's phenomenal to see this. And then I watch Raw and I watched SmackDown. I'm like, man, two hours. There are stars that I want to see more of. I want to see more of Logato del Phantasma.
30:59 I want to see more of Carmelo Hayes, I want to see more of Diy. I want to see the tag team division on SmackDown developed more. And that's where we're at. And WWA has won me over that if they could put on three hours of programming and make it make sense and make it worth my time, that it is worth my time, and that is what they've accomplished. So I'm excited for the two hour to three hour move, you have to figure. I know there's reports out there with the move to Netflix on January the sixth, twenty twenty five, that WWA won't be holded to doing a two hour show or three hour show. There's going to be the reports are right now that if it's two hours and twenty five minutes, it's two hours and twenty five minutes. If it's three hours, it's three hours. If it's three hours and eight minutes, it's three hours and eight minutes. That they have basically free rain when they air live on Netflix. And that's exciting because it's it's got to allow them to put together a well organized show with really no time constraints per se. I mean, I guess they're going to pick and choose their commercials.
31:54 We'll learn more about that as we get closer. But the character development this all, and that's kind of been the theme here, going back to the cinematic matches with or the cinematic segment with the Rains and Roads on the show and jay usso an annixc on USA era. Here we are again with the character development, and that's what matters a lot to me as a fan is. I could watch in ring stuff all day long. I could watch a great match, but if I don't give a shit about the wrestlers in the ring or their development or how they've come to this point, or why they've come to this point, why this match is taking place, then it doesn't hit the same when you watch the entire five course meal take place all at once, where there's a few there's a story, there's a care, there's some depth, and there's a great in ring work all taking place at the same time. So I'm excited about to move doctor Trey, and I never thought I would get there, but here we are.
32:42 My friend, Yeah, I'm excited about it too, And I'm really intrigued by the whole raw Netflix deal because, like you said, like you know, the window is two hours. If it goes to ten, two, five, three hours, it is it is. I am just waiting for the first time they run short, and they run an hour and fifty minutes, and you see the backlash, you know on social media, like oh they shortest ten minutes. It's like yeah, but they went over fifteen twenty minutes to previous four or five shows. So just take it as you just know the first time they run one hour and fifty five minutes, there's gonna be a backlash on it. But you know, I'm excited about about both shows because it's new territory for both entities. So anything's good for character development because I like the I don't know about I don't know how it is in Northeast, but right now it's fair season and circus season kicking off in the South, and like like I, like you said, I can watch great wrestling every single day, just like I could go to a circus and enjoy the hell of a circus.
33:50 But I'm not gonna follow the circus every single week just because of the performances. I need to know why people are doing stuff, or I need to know some background story, or I need to care about the performers for me to follow them. And that's why I think, you know, sometimes we miss an other, you know, programming is we don't. I don't know why I care. I don't know why these guys were bitter rivals and now they're shaking hand. I don't. I don't understand this stuff. You kind of have to explain to me, like I'm a four year old at times for me to go Oh that makes sense. Now I know why they're doing this, and that goes ties into the cinematic stuff we were talking about when we can start the show. It ties into why are Butcher and Shamus fighting? In like why is Butch jumping Shamous again? Why is Braun? Why are Bronson and Braun? I mean, are they fighting over the name Braun? And why is Braun breaker not involved in Bronton Reid and Braun Stroman and just have it all out broad for all. I don't know I need, but do you tell me why? And I go, Okay, this makes sense, and now I'm gonna watch it, Like I'm excited for Bronton, Reid and Braun Strowman in a last man standing match because of all the stuff they've done over the last few weeks, which I don't think I would have given a crap about two years ago. It's just they've developed these characters, so now I care that they're fighting and they're brawling all over the place. I'm excited for it, and I think that just shows the difference between what we were getting under Vince and what we're getting on Trileh.
35:19 And now I say it all the time when it comes to WAE when it comes to aw when it comes to professional wrestling as a whole. At the end of the day, all I want as a fan make it make sense to me, and that's what I want, and that's what WWE has been doing. And I'm excited for the jump for two to three hours if they continue to make it make sense, and I feel like I have confidence in this group that they continue will they will continue to do that as time goes on. When SmackDown makes that move potentially or reportedly to two to three hours in January, there's one huge name on the SmackDown roster right now that may or may not be part of those three hours, and that is one of our favorite wrestlers that we've ever covered in the history of this entire podcast, and that is one Kevin Owens.
36:03 According to Fight Full Select via Wrestling wrestle Peris on Twitter, Kevin Owens has been approached about regarding a new WE contract. Aw IS expected to make Owens a big offer becomes available. Kevin Owens has not yet re signed with w WEE with his deal expected to expire at the end of this year. Again, aw IS long held a major interest in Owens doctor Trey. We're gonna do a little bit of a contract round up here because there's the names that I want to cover, Luca Bros, Daniel Garcia, Miro and with w wee's methodology raise right now when it comes to contracts. But starting with Kevin Owens, your thoughts on the latest reports and where you think he ends up in twenty twenty five. Yeah, this one, it's a little tricky at times because his to his best friends are wrestlers, ones in AW one's in WWE. I mean, Adam Cole and Kevin Owens are best friends, and so is Kevin and Sammy's ain't Normally that would make it a little trickier for me to pay. But I just can't see Owens looking at adw and looking at all this stuff going on and going, you know what, I'm better off there. I mean, we've we've talked about it now with you know, it's a lighter road schedule for WWE. It's really good pay for WWE.
37:17 Your best friends there, The guy running the company is the guy that's handpicked you to be world champion in two different brands. To me, as much of as people want to make up about how much AW wants Kevin Owins. I just don't see Owens leaving WWE, so I think he stays. Yeah, I think he stays as well. I think one of the reasons why is it's a good time to be a WWE superstar, right, I mean, if you're to jump to AW, we'll get to Grant Slam here in a little bit. There are some red flags about all elite wrestling that are concerning if I was a professional wrestler, I totally understand if you're like Mercedes Monein and you're Ricochet and you want to get that opportunity to get out of the WE fold and feel like what AW is doing is better for you. And most certainly I don't think AW is going to be in this hole for the entire eternity as a brand. I think there's obviously plenty of room to grow for it to succeed.
38:10 But if I'm Kevin Owens and I'm making a business, I'm making a family decision. And we talked about the reports O the last several weeks that the house show schedule, the house show loops are going to be reduced. I think staying in w W is the decision I would want to see and as a fan of Kevin Owens, I want to see him remain in W as well, Doctor Trey. I think the Kevin Owens now, if you had asked me years ago, if AW was around, when you know, his Ring of Honor contract was up, I would have said Kevin Owh was a probably a better fit for AW than WW. But the Kevin Owans we have now, the different you know, the talker, the wrestler, the performer, everything that goes into what Kevin Owens is, I think he's better suited for WW than AW. Not to mention, Triple H has selected him the NC champion. Triple H pushed for him to be heavyweight champion, Like you got to have more faith in your guy, Triple H than Tony Kahn because the argument you can say Tony Cohn's dropped the ball with several of your friends when they made the move from WWAWS. I just think for Kevin it just makes more sense to stay where he's at.
39:17 Yeah, it's never a slam dunk going AW. Now, then you're gonna see like this massive character development. So I think creatively they are very much slacking, and I would want to see Kevin Owen's remain in w W versus going to el Elite Wrestling talk about W ANDAW. There were some reports out there early last week or late last week that the Lucher Bros Had signed Penta and Ray Phoenix had signed with W and we was starting to work on merchandise for them. Those reports were refuted. They are still under contract with AW, but the expectation is is that they end up in WWE. This is something that we talked about a couple of weeks ago, Doctor Trey. That is the latest movement with the Lucher Bros. I'm excited to see them come to w and see how w utilizes them.
40:00 Yeah, I'm excited for them because I do I think, you know, it's one of the things that we've talked about. I mean, God, we've been doing the show forever. You know, who's the next Ray Mysterio, Who's the next Luchen Door that they can really market and they can really push And you know, they've they've literally thrown every lucidor at us over the last decade to try and somehow fill that that Ray Mysterio role. And correct me if I'm wrong, But isn't Dragon Lee related to Ray Phoenix, and I thought he was like brothers Rush okay, but you know, he was tagging with Ray Phoenix at one point in Triple A for a while because I think they won the belt, and then they immediately had to strip him of the belt because Dragon has signed with w W.
40:46 It's it's it's a weird thing, but you know, you get something like like Penta who is charismatic as hell and never really says a word except for his one little catchphrase, Ray Phoenix one of the best high flyers in the world. Like that's something that ww can really market and really make exciting for their Latin American fan base. I just wonder, you know, I are they gonna get paired with somebody to kind of do the talking for them? Are they gonna get you know, are they gonna get paired with Santos? Are they gonna get thrown in to the LWL? Are they gonna get thrown in some mixed mash thing? But that's the only thing I think they may need when they come to WWE. Outside of that, like in ring work, character merchandise, I think they get the fall package for WWE.
41:32 There's some concern right now in regards to Daniel garcia status with AW. This comes to us from Dave Meltzer via wrestler Wressell Peuris on Twitter. Quote confidence that Daniel Garcia is going to resign with AW reportedly not as strong as a month ago. Meltzer says, as far as what's going to happen with him Daniel Garcia, I would say this. I would say that this that the almost serviety of the confidence, strong confidence that he was signing. I wouldn't say that it's as strong. I wouldn't say that he's leaving either, but it's not as strong as it was a month ago, Doctor Trey. Daniel Garcia's status is an interesting case because I thought he would return AW based on everything that I've seen on television and just I figured that AW looked at him as you know, a long term investment. It seems that he is at least interested. Talked to we as of right now as we record this show, your thoughts here on where Daniel Garcia potentially ends up and where do you want to see him end up?
42:28 I think right now, if you're a young person in AAW and you look around the wrestling world, you're like, Okay, Am I really going to progress here and move up the ladder? Or is ww either right fit for me? The Ethan Page stuff has probably thrown a huge wrench into a lot of aw's plans. And because you got a guy like Ethan Page, who I'm not gonna say he was underutilized in AEW, but you know he wasn't featured very much. You know, he had some opportunities, but then just kind of got pushed the side oft times. And then now he goes to NXT and blows up. If you're a Daniel Garcia and you look at that and go I could do the same thing. So that's got to throw a little bit of a wrench into aw's plans because if I'm Garcia, I have to take a look at that and then does my style fit in what WWE does or am I better suited for AW.
43:19 I think they protected themselves with that booking of the MJF match because MGF gets the win, Garcia kind of wins the battle or the war, so to speak. Because if Garcia leaves, hey, MJF still you know, beat the guy. But if he comes back, hey, I'm the one who put MJF on the shelf. I still think Garcia is probably better suited for AEW, but you know, I wouldn't be shocked if he bet on himself and went to WWE. Yeah. I think it's surprising that he and AW haven't come in agreement yet because I would have figured coming out of all Out on this angle that they aired with M Jeff that he would have capitalized on. But he has not been seen since all Out, which leads me to believe that there is a decent chance that he ends up in WA. It's surprising, it really is, because I think AW has done Daniel Garcia very well, and I think that they would continue to do him very well in the future. I think they again look at him as long term investments. So this is one of those instances where you know, I think most of the time I probably would lean towards you, Dan Garcia, and WWE would make a lot of sense. I actually think Dan Garcia remaining in AW makes a ton of sense.
44:32 So I'm surprised that he isn't staying with AW as of right now. And I think there's again red flags there because what are we three weeks removed from all Out, and again they have not capitalized on that storyline. They have not even furthered it on dynamite collision or rampage, which leads me to believe that maybe he is in fact WWE bown. I think his contract comes up at the end of October. News on the AW front. According to fight Full Select Occurtesy of Wressell Puris on X, Miro has requested his release from AAW. Miro has not been used since the end of December of twenty twenty three, I want to say at the World's End pay per view.
45:13 More on the report from fight Full Select, stating there was some consideration internally to use Miro in the AW All in Casino Gauntlet, and he had pitched working with John Moxley earlier this year. Miro and AW were unable to get on the same page creatively, something that became a common occurrence for the two sides in recent years. Miro came to All Lead Wrestling. Doctor Trey is somebody that was being underutilized in WE as Russev. When he came to AW, I really thought that this is someone that would hold the AW World Championship at some point, and it certainly seemed like he was being booked that way and then he basically fell off the face of the earth. I think he had like four matches in two thousand and two. Twenty two he had just a couple of matches. He had returned one collision launch in twenty twenty three, and he's been nowhere to be found into the twenty four I think he is under contract until I think he's had like a five year extension, which takes it to about twenty twenty eight or so according to reports. I think it makes sense for both to part at this point because it's not working for either side. But when you look back at his run and all elite wrestling, should it be coming to an end and he becomes a free agent, this may be the most disappointing of them all.
46:27 Yeah, as you're saying that, I was trying to think of anybody else that's made the jump that's been this disappointing in the sense of, you know, we all know Miro Keilee, Yeah, Keith Lee probably, but like, I mean, he's one of the most talented guys you know around Like he's a big man that can move, he can wrestle, you know, he's got some charisma. I mean, you go back to when I was in New Orleans for WrestleMania back in twenty nineteen. RUCEV Day was everywhere, like they were chanting it in the streets of New or Lens for WrestleMania, and you know, WW never capitalized on it, and he made the move to AW and like you said, we all thought he'd be, you know, a huge star, a huge push, and then he comes in as the best Man, which was the weirdest gimmick for a while.
47:15 But then I thought he had kind of found a niche with the Redeemer gimmick. But I mean, the guy hasn't wrestled a match for you in ten months. I mean, and he's not injured, and you know, obviously he's not in the best headspace because he's going he went through a divorce recently. I mean, he's you gotta either just go you know what, let's just cut bait. You go your way, we'll go our way, and that way we stop paying you. But you know, everybody expects it. If he does get released it he might just jump right to WW. That might snatch him up. But that may not happen either. So I mean, he may have to go the independent route for a little bit, and you know, kind of you know, refined himself before he gets that call from from Triple Hing Company.
47:57 Yeah, and who knows where this goes from here. There's I think he's been working on television shows. I think he was on like some sort of CBS trauma. I want to say Blue Bloods, but it's like one of those cop shows that he was doing. There as like a like a minor character here and there. I think he did a couple episodes. I don't know if he necessarily has the interest or the itch to continue in professional wrestling, and if he goes back to w WEE is is I mean, I could see him not going back to w W. I could see him going to DNA or something. It's been extremely disappointing all in all. I mean, his booking the Creative, there's obviously something there that he and AW don't get along when it comes to the Creative and it's on It's unsure why, because I think he had the opportunity to when he came in the company to be an AW world champion and he just is not capitalized and he's been one of the most disappointing. Keith Lee has been one of the most disappointing, but I think that has a lot to do more with with injuries than anything, and we'll see where things end up here. Obviously, there's been no granted release from Only Wrestling to Miro since this story broke late last week. The last bit of contract news, I want to discuss your Doctor before we get into a quick review of aw Grand Slam that took place last night on the TBS network. According to Wrestling Observer newsletter via Wrestle Purists on Twitter, w has started to work on at least fifteen new deals for talent whose contracts would be up over the next several months. That is
49:27 a change in contrast where a lot of contracts were nearly coming up or came up, and WWE was like trying to sign people very very quickly, whether it be Becky Lynch or Chad Gable that came to mind. Now they're trying to get ahead of it, and I think some of the names I saw was like Rhea Ripley, Kevin Owens obviously being one of them. This is the right way of business, doctor track. I want to see this roster stay intact. This has been a really good roster and I can't think of anybody who's being underutilized and should get that move to AW. So hopefully Dowey is able to lock up some of these talents that we've been enjoining watching on w DOETV as a plate. Yeah, I never understood WWE's contract negotiation strategy in the past, where it's like you literally hear people say like, oh no, my contract's up in a month and I haven't heard from them. Like that to me is a little kind of shady and underhand, like you're trying to make the talent nervous that they might not get renewed and so that way you think they'll take the whatever deal you throw at them. It does. That's not how you negotiate things in modern times, and especially when you have direct competition that can pay as well as you do. I mean, if if the new TV deal comes out for AW, they're gonna have a little more influx of cash so they can pay as much as the competition, if not more, you know, and you still have TNA that doesn't mind throwing a little bit of money around if it makes sense as well. I mean, just it's it's it's negotiating in good faith, like hey, we like you we know
50:58 your contracts coming up in six months, you know, start thinking of in the parameters of what you want, and we'll start doing the same thing, and we'll see we can't, you know, head this off of the path. I mean to have some be like Becky Lynch who's having a match at WrestleMania, who's contracts up right after it and you hadn't reached out. I mean, that's kind of shady for somebody that's meant so much for your company. So if they're trying to be more proactive about it going forward, I think that's a good move for the company standpoint, and you don't ever make somebody feel like they're unwanted, at least heading into that negotiation period. Yeah, this is a lot of influence, I think from AW being a very strong second to them in the United States for wrestling promotions, where you know, Tody, we would be very lazy, not give a shit about renewals, and you would hear that often from wrestlers where it would be coming up towards the end and they're like, oh, yeah, we got to talk about that contract and then no contract came through or somebody wasn't doing their job and tell relations. We should not let anybody walk to free agency without giving them an offer and starting contract negotiations.
52:08 If as a company they want to keep those folks under the wa M Brella, then they should be doing everything they possibly can to keep them under that umbrella. One of those names was Ricochet. Ricochet was negotiate with WE. He told him that he wanted to see what a free agency world was going to be like, and they let him go in their merry way. So they even started a little bit earlier and kind of learned from the mistakes with Chad Gable, Becky Lynch and anybody else in the past. Remember like seeing Punk when he was on the ass with w WE for ten years, he talked about a time where he would like go up to Vince and asked about his contract and It's was like, oh, yeah, we got to talk about that, And then they never talked about it, and we would get closer and closer to the date where his contract was coming up, and then it would be rushed and then they would resign.
52:50 I think that had a lot to do with the lack of competition. And now there's competition and the ball is in the workers court, it's in the court of the wrestler where it should be and give them an opportunity to max their earnings potential with a renegotiated or an extension or a new contract depending on how they are coming to a arresting promotion or staying with arrestling promotion in the future. So it's nice to see w trying to keep people under the w umbrella. Last thing I want to discuss here on this week's This to the Show, Doctor Trey is Last night was AW Grand Slam from Arthur Ashy Arena in Queens, New York. A couple of notes on that one. Danielson and Nigel go back into time and a very fun opener. Hook retires the FTW Championship. Finally, the Young Bucks, will Os Brain Kyle Fletcher put on a tag team clinic. MVP Monteal Montel Vontavius Porter is all Elite that John Moxley defeats Darby Allen for an AW World Championship Championship shot at Russell Dream he will take on Brian Danielson. Those were coming.
53:53 The couple of the news and notes from that one, Doctor Trey Murah main Yukaza Kazaki did not have a great match that was not a fun segment overall. Did you get into opportunity to watch Grant Slam and what were some of your takeaways? Yeah? I watched a lot of it, you know obviously, and you know this now and having when you have a small child or my kids and toddler running around the house and does kind of throw up things out of whack and inside out too. Came out on Disney Plus, so I had to battle Sammy Franklin on what we were actually gonna watch last night. They still did not really sell me on why Brian Daniels and wrestle Look Brian answer Nigel Againess, that was great. I loved it. It was very throwback for me, very nostalgic, and it showed Nigel could still go great. Still did explain to me why Brian Danielson is okay to wrestle Nigel but couldn't wrestle Darby still have explained that to me. But it is what it is. We're getting Brian and and Moxley of all the people to come out for the save though, to kind of help help hold off the BCC it's private party and Commander to come out to take on Pop and Claudio and mocks like. I was like, really, that's that's the best baby Faces. We got to kind of stand down the BCC and their terror that they've been running ramp it through. Okay, seems kind of weak to me, but uh, the matches themselves. All the matches were pretty great, except for the Maria may match, Like that's yeah, that or not the work, yeah that, It just wasn't good. Overall. It was a fun show, But
55:23 this is what we talk about. There's there's loose ends that don't make sense to me that they don't explain, Like why did Rodert Strong shake Hook's hand after the match? I don't get those things. They don't make sense to me, and that's why I get frustrated with the show. Time. The n ring work you can watch all day long. But if you're constantly attacking somebody in jumping and being really shade and underhanded and then you shake his hand after the match, I don't get that stuff. It just it boggles my mind. Shake his hand backstage with nobody's looking, but otherwise roll out of the rings, slink to the back, let Hook retire the FTW title to his dad. That was a great little moment. Some of the stuff they do just doesn't make sense to me, and then I get frustrated. So Bell de Bell hardly any big and touch aw, it's just the little stuff that I watched that just drives me nuts.
56:19 So I will defend the Private Party Commander stuff because there is an angle that led to that. Right, they were attacked and then they took out Isaiah Cassidy's hand. But I'm with you, is there not a bigger group, maybe the Bang Bang Gang House of Black that they could have gone to rather than Private Party and Commander. Yeah, no, I get that there was a storyline there at least, but Private Party hasn't won, has won like what three matches in the last two years. They're a great tack team. They are fun tag team watch. I mean I've watched them since they were in cz I saw them live in CZW against Santana and Ortiz like eight years ago. Like they're great talents. They just the book poorly. Commander's been lost for like four months. I mean they have him. Hell, they beat up Alex Abraham or Alex I can't pronounce. Yes, they beat him up a couple weeks ago, and it's like cool, I get you're trying to get revenge, but you guys got the ever loving crap beat out of you, and you're the ones who jumped the BCC before you got beat up, So to come out to try to run them off makes zero sense to me, because why would the BCC be afraid of Private Party and commander in that moment we just beat the crap out of them after they jumped us. Yeah, it doesn't make sense in that situation to have them come in for the backup to Danielson. So it's the little stuff like that
57:52 that as a longtime wrestling fan just irks me that I'm like, yeah, in that moment, great, I get it. I mean, and they're and they're you know, Private Party's New York kids, so in you know, in Long Island, I get the moment. But use House of Black, or use somebody else that has a little bit of interaction with BCC or has had some kind of rivalry at times with them that maybe is higher on that pecking order to make sense, and then have Private Party upset BCC on Dynamite to get a little credibility too. Then if you want to circle back to it, then it works. Yeah, I wonder if that's like Tony complaining to the hometown crowd, since Private Party is is the local crew the roder Strong hook stuff. I'm I can totally understand that based on the history of Aw's booking. I'm wondering if that is the beginning of something rather than the end of something. If that makes sense, Doctor Trey from a storyline standpoint, is.
58:52 The Undisputed Kingdom finally broken up? I mean the knee entry, Tavin and Bennett just lost in to Guevara and Rhodes. It's just once again like you've been a shitty heel for a year, You've been doing shitty things to Hook and then you shake his hand after the match. Are you just giving up on being shitty? Are you? Are you mad that your wife's in a better spot right now that you want. I'm upset with Grand Slam where they dumped out of Nigel saying thank you to Brian Danielson, which even on I thought there was gonna be a replay of it on social media, maybe on the YouTube. I have not checked out the YouTube, but even on a replay on social media, I saw that they dumped out of that.
59:34 So the person that with the dump button must have thought he was saying fuck you to Brian Dad like completely the whole point of that segment got dumped out. I mean, that is awful. Thank god. The commentators like, I can't you know he said thank you? I have no idea if they even know it got dumped out. That really sucked from that standpoint, but man Nigel could still go that was really cool. The big thing here, Doctor Trey, that I noticed, and this goes back to a conversation on last week's show AW. Grand Slam's attendance was significantly and noticeably down from previous editions of Grand Slam. In twenty twenty one, they had twenty thousand, one hundred and seventy seven, which I believe is still it may have been broke broken by the first dance when Sampunk went on rampage. I still think that's like the one of the highest attended television shows, if not the highest television attended show for a dynamite collision, rampage whatever in history of AW. In twenty twenty two, it dropt from one hundred and seventy seven twenty one to twenty two.
1:00:40 It was the thirteen thousand, eight hundred, so pretty strong. Last year eleven thousand. Even I guess there was no eleven thousand and one or two. That's what the tracking that I found this year. According to Russell Tics, on X eight thousand, one hundred and ninety one attended a Grand Slam, so it's been a drop of twelve thousand. Aw Grand Slam was always noticeably one of the highest viewer shows attended by All Elite Wrestling, but it was very easy to tell that they blacked out a lot of that arena. They had the normal Dynamite set. They didn't even have the set where it has like the entrance way where it's also an LED screen, which they would do for some big shows that they would do for Dynamite. You know, go back to when Adam Cole would jumped off the stage and broke his freaking ankle and he's been out for an entire year. It was just really noticeable that it was not the crowd that we're accustomed to for that show, and that made me sad.
1:01:40 I didn't take a victory lab for All Elait Wrestling. It just made me sad. And that's something I noticed the entire time. I was like, Man, I wonder how the show's got to come off and look, and it was like, oh, man, this is there are some attendance concerns, and eight thousand is still very strong for a show, but man, when you were packing in twenty thousand people three years years ago, thirteen thousand two years ago, eleven thousand a year ago, it's like, Ugh, this decline is concerning. And I believe they sold like two thousand tickets over the last week or so, so they were looking at potentially six thousand people up until about a week ago, Doctor Trey, Did you notice those attendants issues that I pointed out as well? Yeah, I mean, and also just the energy from the crowd hasn't been where it's been the last couple of years.
1:02:25 I mean even last year eleven thousand, the crowd seemed pretty hot. This year, the crowd just kind of seemed like, I don't want to say polite, but it's almost like watching a tennis show in Arthur, Ash. It was like, yeah, it was nice, Yeah, it was good. Yeah, it was like it was almost like polite at times, but just the energy wasn't there. And sometimes you can watch a show and kind of get a vibe, not just from the crowd, but from the performers as well as like I don't want to say they were going through the motions, but you don't feel that same energy on a dynamite that maybe you did two years ago, three years ago, Like it just isn't there right now, and and part of that is that crowd energy is not there, so that crowd makes you more amped up. Like look, I I literally did a show Friday night. By by the time we were in the main event, twenty five people were left, but it was allowed twenty five people, so we were amped up for it. And I've been in shows where it's three hundred in a small venue and they're just like sitting on their hands, and you're just like, man, I just I don't feel the energy is hard to get amped up for it, So you know, it does kind of the energy does sell through television, and just right now, it just kind of feels like, I don't know, like they're treading water or they're not like somebody's like just got diagnosed with a bad illness. Like it just feels kind of eh and blaw at times. Like I said, the matches are great, like Bell, the Bell is grave.
1:03:52 It's just the energy of the shows right now just kind of feels blah across the board for AW. It's so inconsistent. There's no consistency from like year to year. Here great stretch from March to going into All Out in London and then All In was thrown together, and I just feel like the last five weeks have been kind of meh outside the Moxley stuff, So it's concerning. It was very noticeable and I was hoping for a bigger craft for AW. Grand Slam eight thousand still something that's very, very good. But I want to go back to those days where it was twenty thousand people packing Arthur to Ashley for Grand Slam because that was a really really fun show, great crowd, great energy, and overall fun times for all lead wrestling. That'll do it for this week's edition of the podcast. Let's get a couple of plugs and sponsors. Either way, you could down the show every Thursday or Friday at Real Guy Radio dot com.
