Anyone who's ever cooked over a flames, has experienced; burnt food, and having #cookware coated with soot. You wouldn't cook at home with the #stove burners all on "High" would you? You wouldn't even cook that way on a charcoal grill on the patio, so, why would you prepare meals like that when #camping? The truth is, #flames produce temperatures that exceed those required for #cooking food properly and evenly. Whereas, cooking over a heat source that provides a consistent, regulated temperature, yields outstanding results for preparing #meals at #camp. You can achieve this either with a #trailstove, or by cooking over #coals, but certainly not with flames. C.W. Goetz demonstrates how to cook #campmeals by using coals rather than with flames, all while leaving the campfire to serve its primary function of keeping everyone warm.
