75 tear-old, Author and Public Speaker, Jon Turk earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry in 1971 and was nominated by #NationalGeographic as one of the Top Ten #Adventurers of the Year in 2012. Jon also co-authored the first college level #environmentalscience textbook in North America. He #kayaked around Cape Horn and across the North Pacific from Japan to Alaska, mountain biked across the northern Gobi in Mongolia, as well as making numerous first ski descents and first rock #climbing ascents around the globe. With 4 published trade books to his credit, his newest, Tracking Lions, Myth and Wilderness in Samburu, was published last month. Jon’s other achievements include; a Japan to Alaska Expedition rated by #PaddlerMagazine as one of the "Top Ten Sea Kayak Expeditions of all Times,” being featured on the front page of the #NewYorkTimes, voted "Best #Expedition of the Year" by #Canoe&KayakMagazine, and receiving the Northern Lights Award "First Place in Print Journalism" each pertaining to his Ellesmere Expedition.
