62-year-old, John Soares, developed his love of dispersed #camping when he did a month-long road trip across the United States after finishing his master’s degree in political science at the University of California, Davis in 1989. Since then, dispersed camping has been a regular part of his #outdoor recreation all over the western United States, and he often combines it with #hiking in beautiful and remote places. A writer for the last 30 years, John joins us to talk about his books; “Camp for Free” (Dispersed camping & #boondocking on America’s Public Lands), “100 Classic Hikes” (Northern California), and “Hike the Parks” (Redwood National & State Parks).
