Campfire Safety

Campfires are both functional, and beautiful. However, fires can also cause damage, injury and even death! Retired Fire Chief, Gary Hanna, discusses how to practice safe, responsible campfire management. Gary talks about ways we can make sure our campfire will not pose a threat to anyone’s safety, or lead to the destruction of property. Also, covered is the topic of which species of wood make the best campfires, and which species cause crackling/popping, throwing sparks and embers into the air.
