Part 3 of the 2021-22 Basketball Season features College Basketball Times President Dave Barend

This weeks episode of the Original Sports Podcast with Mark Maradei features guest Dave Barend. Barend went to St. Bonaventure in New York and started doing stand up comedy. He had the fortunate opportunity to have  opened for Jerry Seinfeld and Jon Stewart before going on to Boston College Law School. He continued his standup routine while in Boston as he worked to become a lawyer. Dave then moved to the Big Apple and entertained with his comedy throughout New York City.  Dave’s passion for comedy took a slight twist when he co-wrote “Things That Might Annoy” joke books with comedian Paul Nardizzi as well as wrote many humor based articles.  Dave finally followed his passion and began writing for my “College Hoops Humor” site  which led to a  gig with Basketball Times. Currently, Barend is the president of non-profit College Basketball Times.

We will talk with Dave about his illustrious journey from stand up comedy, to written comedy, practicing law and his current gig as the President of College Basketball Times. We will take an indepth look at his predictions and possible outcomes for the 2021-2022 college basketball season. Who his early season top 10 is, players to watch from freshman phenoms to potential player of the year honors. For our “ We just Gotta Know” segment we will have Dave share some of most memorable moments doing standup comedy.
