Leading through Example: NMSU Associate Athletic Director James Hall

On this episode of the Steel City Nation podcast Mark Maradei speaks with James Hall. Hall is the associate athletic director at New Mexico State University where he is a sports administrator and involved in student development. Prior to New Mexico State he was the founder of Majority of One Brands and worked as an academic counselor for The Ohio State University. He’s been an instrumental part of the 70 conference championships and 3 WAC Commissioner's Cup Championships that NMSU has won. Hall was the liaison for the athletic department during some 10 million dollars worth of facility project upgrades and perhaps one of his biggest crowning achievements may be increasing the graduation success rate from 52% to 90%.

We will discuss with James how his work at The Ohio State University helped to transform a 52% graduation rate into a whopping 90% rate. He’ll share with us how Covid is impacting the upcoming college athletic seasons. How recruiting is being affected this year and what the impact on fundraising has been. James will talk about his personal aspirations going forward and he will tell us about his non-profit work through his Majority of Ones Brand.
