Albertsons has appointed former eBay and Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman to a newly created role as Executive Chair and Board Chair. In this position, she will serve as an operational and strategic advisor to CEO Susan Morris.
This leadership change comes at a critical time for Albertsons, as the grocer navigates negative same-store sales, an operating model reorganization, and the upcoming retirement of its CFO.
