Amazon already has more than a million robots working across its operations, so is full automation of the last mile inevitable?
Ken Davidson of the A&M Consumer and Retail Group thinks the answer is yes. Amazon has the scale, capital, and track record of attacking inefficiencies to make it happen. While there may be changes needed to packaging and how goods move through the final stages of fulfillment, Ken believes advances in robotics could make fully automated delivery operations a reality sooner than many people expect.
