04 Hey, you have done two here Centrue for se Wow, cra you your. Since the Pete Man Here, I'm the Adventures pate Man W four cy Radio and I'm here Worth Alfred Rome of Dead Bait, Mace here a Bloodstar. Incredible twenty fifth anniversary. Very happy to be here, very excited. So tell me about the journey to Bloodstar. It's a fun one. So let me tell you. So. The boys Dead Bait has been established since twenty twenty one. They start out as a four piece, two of.

46 My best mates in the whole world, gager up with Mateman from college. Two boys they found on the internet. They have been grafting hard for the last four or five years now, ups and downs, swinging radio shows, big gigs, trying their best, going through metal to the masses contest I think three times. This year was the third attempt. I've always just been, you know, their friend in the back, cheering them on. But at the end of last year they asked me, let it, mate, we think we want another guitarist. Would you want to come be you know, come turn this into a five piece? Maybe maybe see if we can level up the sound a bit. Always game, always happy to do it. I love playing with the guys Toby, our drummer, He and I. You know, we learned to play together, played in lots of bands together.

39 Have been a long time since we got to do much. So it was exhilarating for me really to get to be invited, to get to be part of their sound, their mission. And so this year January I stepped foot into the rehearsal room with him and that's been it. We re entered the Metal to the Masses contest. Got lucky enough through our three heats we will we want Northampton Heats. Incredible. Just played the new blood stage today. Nice, really exciting really, I mean, like I said, you know, Bloodstock twenty fifth anniversary. None of us have had the pleasure of coming to Bloodstock before really, so the fact that the first time we get to come here is to play it, to get to hang out with cool guys like yourself backstage, meet so many amazing other musicians, so many incredible talents. It's just it's just a joy.

32 And getting to share our music with such a I mean not a brag. We pulled quite a nice crowd in the tent. That blows your mind too, right, you. Know, we got up and we started playing, and there was a nice crowd. It was a good audience, and it was like, I love, this is nice, this is cool. You know, it wasn't it wasn't full, but it was no barrier was stacked and there were some people knocking about. Lovely. I look down for fifteen minutes because I was looking up. I'm getting blinded by a light or a stroke. I'm like, I'm going to fall over, I'm going to drop my guitar, pic, I'm going to something that's going to I'm going to stand on the pedal board or vic or I'm going to walk into no. So I looked at him for fifteen minutes, playing playing, playing, I look back up tensefull and that's just for you know, it makes my heart sing really and just it's just such a good feeling.

23 You know, all of us have been musicians. I mean I've been playing it to nearly twenty years now. Wow, I've been in a lot of bands. We've all been in a lot of bands. We've never come and done something like this nice and it's just yeah, it's a real joy. And I mean we must have done something right because shout to the crew at the new Blood stage. They were so lovely to us coming off. They you know, they really looked after us. They just they couldn't have been nicer, you know. And they you know, they did say they we were their favorite so far of this weekend, and I was like, well, that's really of course you were. Well, I'm thinking, yeah, you say that to everyone, don't you.

04 I got cornered trying to take my gear off the stage first of all, because I was over stepping slightly. That the love incredible, genuinely incredible setup. I've never had the pleasure of experiencing a stage run like this. They had five texts for the band, two guitar texts looking after myself and Bobby, my counterpart. And it's like, I'm not used to other people packing my stuff up and taking it. So I'm there doing it. They're like no, no, no, no, no, we're go here. We got it. I'm like, okay, thanks. They won't let me go. I was like, what's going on? How long are you are you here all weekend? I was like, well, yeah, we are chipped. Sadly, we do have to chip off tomorrow evening. Some of the boys have work again on Monday, so don't get to stay stay the whole run. He's like, no, but will you be here when we're packing the stage when the stage closes tomorrow night? More time's that eight o'clock.

55 I was like, I think so He's like, no, you need to be here. I'm like, what is going on? I'm can I'm getting invited to a cult or something or maybe just you know, I've been getting on with the crew guys before we started playing. I was thinking, I just want to have a drink or you know, I love that. I'll come for a drink. Cool well you know that. No, no, no, come with me. Get pulled off stage back to the entranceway. I'm like, we're going the wrong way. Steve, what's happening, mate? And he goes have a bit of that and he handed me a fluorescent green envelope. I don't know what I did. Apparently I did something right because the lovely guys at the new Blood stage deemed me worthy to receive a guitar.

37 So an Angle, thank you so much. Appreciate the support there for the festival, the support for music up and coming bands, so unbelieve we feel very very lucky, very blessed to you. Know. So I'm going to go collect my prize tomorrow and put it to good use. But I think for Bloodstock, man, it's just the energy here. You know. I've been to a lot of festivals. I was a download last year, shout download. Other festivals are available at an incredible time. It's a great time. I'd always heard the incredible things about Bloodstock. I've got friends who come every year and it's like they always say, no, it's great that the vibes are immaculate, that energy is good.

20 I'm like, yeah, I'm sure it is. Most vessels are great, right, but this is this is different. The air here is electric, yeah, you know, and it's like you can feel the love, you can feel thee it's for the fans. It's by the fans, and you feel that and the love and support you know, like I say, the guys at the stage today, you just that's incredible that for us. You know, the band's been going a little wife. It's a bit of a new start with me joining and so you know, these new songs, were working on the sounds, evolving the styles movie, you know, and. It's like, Okay, we're doing something right. Something's happening, moving Okay, okay, we're not playing this is the stage is a bit bigger and there's more lights and so just incredible, you know, like we've got to check out some other incredible bands with Lamma Good last night.

13 Yeah, come on, fucking Lamb. Come on, sensational legends. Just getting to watch guys who have been doing it that standard for as long as you. Know, like they didn't drop her, no they didn't. Perfect incredible performance, that's just it. Joyful man. I mean I've been talking NonStop. You know, you know I don't need to talk, but you're you're covering it all. Well I'm trying. I'm trying face for radio. They tell me, well, there you go. So tell people how they can reach out to your band, and more importantly, how they can buy your merch because they can't listen to my show and let's say buy your merch.

55 I appreciate that one. So we don't. We are launching merch store online. See perfect Time. We are Deadbait band on all the socials. I don't think we're on x formerly Twitter because it's not hang out there. It's not a nice place. But yeah, Instagram is the main place to find us. We are posting as regularly as we can. We're trying to keep the momentum going. We dropped a new single not too long ago, a couple of weeks back, Ego Centric. You can find that everywhere that you find your music. No physical releases of that yet, but we are in the writing process at the minute. We're hoping at the end of this year start next year, we're going to be able to say Dead Bait's debut album, which we'll hopefully will live on CDs and vinyls, maybe even a cassette tape if I can swing it, because I love an a track.

52 It's funny you brought that up because I talk about that sometimes, like I had Lizard of Ours and ah, yes. I still have now. Admittedly i am I'm a bit younger, but I've still got my mum's original first release back in black a track and cassette Highway to Hell, which he always tells me, No, I never had a cy DC. I'm like, Mum, you wrote your name on them, bless her. Oh my god, that's funny. But yeah, eight tracks. Bring the eight tracks. Honestly, I think that you have come back. It's vinyl so big. You know a few years back when it was first coming back up, and I feel like everybody sort of it's a. Bit of a fad. It's just for hipsters and posers and whatever.

35 But now you cannot get anywhere you step in any record shop. The vinyl section is huge again and it's it's cool to see. Yeah, I stand vinyl. It's black magic, but I respect it because you should respect what you don't understand. Yeah, wisdom, Well, I'll tell you the black magic about it. You get fully immersed in that is it. That is it, and it's real, like even the crack going. Yeah, like it's real love that based that. Thing of I just they put grooves in vinyl and then sound waves, right, But you're right, there's a purity to it because those grooves are you. That's the sound.

20 It can't be changed, it can't be tweeked. Once it's pressed, it's pressed there, you know. And it's like you see a lot there's a lot of bands that you know, digital releases. There's great aspects of that. The accessibility of music getting it out there, you know, I mean years ago, you know old bands I was in. Yeah, CDs were the big thing. Yeah, the cost of getting one hundred CDs printers and then. You've got a hope that you can sell. You know. It's whereas now it's like you've got your Apple Music, You've got the h you've got Spotify tied, all the streaming platforms, ninety people are on them and it's just you know, trying to get it in front of them, you know, and so getting again today, we we've got to play to a lot of people. Hopefully there's going to be a lot of is looking out for us, coming to find us. You know, we're here, We're here tomorrow we'll head home hopefully well, make some new friends.

12 Even have some stalkers now, I hope. So just keep me on my toes. Is there anything else you want to share with the listeners? We haven't covered already? Ah, what is there to cover? Peace? Love and happy stuff. That's what I'll give a little shout out to my friends though, friends of the band, friends of Dead Bait, my mates from Cork Island. They're over today this weekend following the signs. They're playing on the MP stage tomorrow. You should go check them out. You should get chatting with those boys. They I'll let them know. Too. I'll send them right to you. But yeah, shout to them. They've been really supporting us, really looking after us this weekend. Uh, you know, that's just nice. And that's again. Everybody's lovely.

58 The place is great. Like you said, it's a family. When I come here, Like even first when I got here, I'm like, oh, I'm at home with my family at Bloodstock. That's it. It's so killing. I am going to be so sad to go home. Me too, Like I go home to craziness, you know. And that's the beauty of being here as we can avoid all the world's issues and just ignore it for a few days, you're telling me and all just love each other, hug each other, and show what human beings which should really act like. That's it. That's it. The level of respect is I'm thinking about it is this year from what I understand. First year, they've done it.

38 They've set up a slightly separate campsite for artists and crew. It's really nice. It's really lovely. You know, we're not too far away. But it's just you think about it, like there's a lot of guys, a lot of bands who were all pitched up together and some of them have brought you know, they brought their kit into the camp to just keep their eyes on it. But it's like the level of kurd to see and just respect and love. But there hasn't been any drama anywhere. I haven't heard about anything kicking off anywhere in the festival. No, there's no assholes here. There's none. Every single person that I've run into, you bump into someone is sorry. Mate. Yeah, you're right all about it.

19 Gorgeous just if only what I love about the time. That's what I love about it, mate. Truly the best. I mean, you're to shine an example my friend you as well. Thank you so much, and a fucking a brilliant artist. Try so try. Thank you for playing her a Bloodstock. Thank Bloodstock for having us shout. It was very smart of them. I think so, I hope so, oh God. And thank you for being any avengers by men. A pleasure, A pleasure, pleasures all mine. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of plate Man. I'm w for CUI Radio.
