04 Hey, you're listening to The Adventure of Pumlin on W4CY. For you. This is Pipe Man here on the Avengers Pipe Man W4CY radio, and I'm here with. Hey, my name's Jamie, and I play bass and sit my Ravens. My name's Zach. So, did the Ravens also send this fucking heat? No, they did not. Usually we come from more, you know, cold areas. We like cold things. Although we are from South. Carolina, but it's way hotter here than it is in South Carolina. We just sit in the A.C. All day, that's all. Yes, very much. I live in Florida, and I can't wait to get home to get to the cooler weather. Like, and nobody says that.
50 I'm telling you, we got out the van yesterday, and it was, like, insanely humid. I was like, it's going to be a scorcher tomorrow, bro. Yeah, you know, like, I have been doing festivals in Europe, UK, and here. And every one of them, like six of them, were all hotter than South Florida. Like, how does that fucking happen, man? And I don't know how you guys play in this shit. It's the heat dome, apparently. The heat dome is here. It is, it is. But how you guys play, I always wondered that about bands. Like, it's brutal to get up there and give it your all in this. Yeah, also.... Fortunately, we were in a tent this year, so that was really cool. But also, we haven't played together in, what, 13 years? This is a reunion show for us.
37 Wow. Hell of a reunion show to come back with. Pun intended. Not only was it hot, but it was also, we're just getting a little too old for this shit. Or at least it felt that way anyway, you know? Right. So what made that you guys do this reunion show? What came up? What was the impetus that made this happen? So we got the offer to play the show. We all talked about it. We hadn't written music in a long time, so we said, screw it, we'll do the show. This will put us in gear to write a song. We just released three weeks ago, something like that. So yeah, that happened. We played the show. We'll see how many more we do in the future.
20 I think you're going to do a lot more, aren't you? We'll see. After doing this. Well, if you've done this one, you've done the hardest one yet because it's so hot. It's only uphill from here, you know? So tell the listeners a little bit about you guys that may not know you because you've been on hiatus for this amount of time and why they should check you guys out and your music. Well... We were on Tooth & Nail Records back in the day. We disbanded just because we were all getting older and had families and life, and we came back to do this. But as far as what we're doing, I mean, we definitely... Why people should check us out, I guess?
03 Yeah, yeah. I don't know. Why should people check us out, Jamie? I don't know. I think. We decided to write some songs and we were really proud of them. Just they're more mature, they're more, they're fun, they're heavy, they're heavy as hell. And yeah, I mean, as soon as we announced that we were kind of getting back together and writing songs, all of a sudden, like a lot of our fans are apparently like in the industry and talking us up and that's how we got on it at Louder Than Life. So I think there's just more to come from us. I think there's some more mature heavy rock stuff coming.
45 Check it out if you dig it. If you don't, that's cool too. I also think that it's been so long that I feel like this kind of music that we played is starting to come back around. So it's coming back. You see that with a lot of new bands that are coming out. So I feel like it's time for us to write a few more songs for sure. I agree with you. I think we're seeing a resurgence of stuff. Like, there's a 90s thing going on right now, too. You know? And it's like, I think people are sick of just the going through the motions type of music, the formulaic type of music, and they want to go back to musicianship and real music. And that's why you were sent by Ravens.
30 Yeah, I mean, it's kind of why you're seeing... The raw edginess of Limp Bizkit coming back and headlining this thing and My Chemical Romance, Resurgence, just becoming bigger than they were when we listened to them back in 2009, 2010. So we decided to throw our names in the hat too, and people were really excited about it. People were excited to put us on stuff like this, and I think we came out and crushed it, so. You did crush it. And listen, under the hottest of circumstances. So that says a lot. Man, that's dedication. That's musicianship. And what else do you want the listeners to know that we haven't talked about that they should know about you guys or anything?
17 Well, yeah. Like I said, we wrote some new songs. We released one about three weeks ago. It's called A Quiet War. You can find it on iTunes. YouTube, all the streaming services. Check it out. Give it a listen. It's their latest. We went to a cabin in Asheville, North Carolina by ourselves. We produced it ourselves. Brought in one of our friends to kind of engineer and help produce it. And it's fucking sick. So it rocks, and you guys should check it out. Well, you guys fucking rock. And thanks for being here at Louder, and thanks for being on the Adventures of Pipe Man. Thanks, man. Thanks for having us, Dean. We appreciate you. You got it. Thank you for listening to The Adventures of Pikeman on W4CY Radio.
