04 Hi, you have done to censure. For see wow for you young. This is the pipemin here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio, and I'm here. With Christy from Dirty Shirt Me. Hi, selgo nice here at Vaking. Oh my god, you made it to the Holy Ground, and so did I. It's my first time here, but it's not your first time here. No, oh my god twenty fourteen you originally played, right. Yes, first time he was in twenty fourteen when we played at my Vaca Metal Battle, and the second time was in twenty nineteen.
48 So it's the third time we are coming back to vakon Wow. How for you guys, how has it changed over the years that you've played. The first time it was like a big jump for us, and I give credit to Vacan because they keep that. They keep us together as a band. The second time was the price. But this time I think it will be like holy fucking shit. Right, I hope for the best. I mean, even in the States where I live, we consider this the holy ground, like this is the festival you know, of all festivals in metals. Sorry to disappoint you, but there are many festivals in Europe, but the Vacan is one of them. Right, Well, I do hell Fest, I've done grass Pup Resurrection Fast. I actually wanted to do the one it's in uh. I think it's in Romania. There's one I can't remember.
37 Starting Extreame Festival. It's in the same place right. Now they are playing now we played last year there. Yeah, So I was actually gonna apply to that one, and then I got approved to this. I'm like, yes, gotta do Vacuum of course. Of course. I think Vaccan is a really known also for the fact that it's the first big metal festival that became really new internationally and because of VACAN Metal Better, because they are doing a lot for the entire movement. Not only let's do a festival, commercial festival and win money. They are supporting the metal movement, the metal bands all around the world. And they also have Vacom Foundation who support the bands for touring, support the bands playing at VACU Metal Better. So it's more than a festival. It's just it's a concept. It's it's a thing to be something like this.
23 I love that, and I was. I have an interview later with the band that headlined the first one when it was like this little teeny thing. That's what amazes me about Europe and these festivals like this festival hell Fest, like they start off as these small little festivals and then it becomes its monster community. And I use the word community because that is what it is. For example, and they started the first edition with eight hundred people, wow, multiplied by one thousand. Right, right, So, and I have to say, you guys got new music and new album right next year? Yeah we will. It will be out sometimes next year.
05 Yeah, okay, and so tell us about that so people can look up for it. Yeah. We we have several songs which are really really good. I think this is my first album with the band. I joined the band four years ago. And we have some very very special guests. A few of them have been announced. Then we will see if me Hi allows me to say something about that what he has on his shirt. Yeah yeah, yeah. One of the guests is Ian Anderson's from jet rotal Wow, that is already recorded and is playing flute. Then I will tell let's see if me Hi so what we can announce. Of course, Ian Anderson from jet Rotali to It's being a song that will be released in September.
46 It will be the first single of the new album. We released a single one year ago, a second single this year, and the third under be with Jan Andersand and then already I can say another one. Then that's it because we have many guests, but one I can tell you. It's from Happy Oh Nice. We already have the tracks. He made an amazing, amazing vocalist on the song Wow, that's cool and it's the vampires. Yeah. And you know what blows my mind? Though many years ago, at least in my country, we were all very mad that Jethro Tall got the Heavy Metal Grammy, and now he's played with an actual heavy metal band.
28 It's amazing. He made some kind of reefs on the flute with the very heavy riefs. It's incredible that that is amazing. I'm definitely gonna have to check that out because I like Tall. I just never considered the metal, but like now playing with you guys, now I'm excited. So what else do you got going on? You got some other aren't you coming to the US? I don't think so, at least not in the next years, because it's complicated, it's very costly, it's very our away. And now for visa is even more complicated because of the new administration you have, so I don't think it will be very soon. We played all over Europe, like seventeen countries, but never outside Europe yet.
12 Well, you know, it's funny about what you're saying, because I agree with you a million percent. I live there. I'm from there, and I have a much harder time getting back into my own country than coming to any country in Europe. It's stupid. Like literally, when I get back, it's gonna take me probably two hours to get through customs and they question me, why are you here? I live here, Look at my driver's license. Okay, but it is so and I live in the worst part because I live about fifteen minutes from you know, I call them resident rump, right, I mean, And it's really I just don't even know what forget.
57 Vakin Us is wacky wacky, I'll go with vaky it. But man, that's why I come over here, because this is where the good music is. That's why I found out, Like there were a lot of bands that I knew back in the eighties that I thought were gone forever and they just came over here. It's interesting that it's kind of a revival of some old bands. Look for example, the new metal bands from nineties two thousand. Now they are exploding again. The system of Adun. They had the huge tour in Europe and it was crazy everywhere, stadium wire full everywhere and crazy ambients. Limpbiski the same linking park also, so there are some bands that are doing a stadium to sold out everywhere.
38 Incredible. Oh yeah, it blows my mind with Limp Biscuit because like every festival I've been doing recently, he's at. I saw him at grass Pop. That was one of the most insane marsh pits ever when they played grass Pop. But they're playing every US festival that I do, you know, and it's like it blows my mind and headlining and I just saw him at down the like like they're all over. I love it. Yeah. Yeah, there's a very very big metal scene in Europe in general. Yeah yeah. And so what's your favorite country besides home to play? For me, it's actually Romania, but I'm from Italy. I mean that it makes sense. I actually moved to Romania because the music scene is way better, is it? And yeah, way better than in Italy. And so if I would say Romania for me.
27 For me as I live in France for twenty five years, of course, it's friends. I don't know, man, it's too hard, it's too the whole Europe man. Everywhere that we go, we had some good times with people, we socialize with them, with everybody. So it's an experience for us every concert in every country. So I do not have favorites. That's a good answer. I like that because they're all different, right, and they all have their own like vibe too. Yeah, but a dirty shirt nobody stays. Everybody's jumping is moving. That's the only way, right, yeah, you know, and I find that too. Over here in Europe. It's like, man, the audience just gets so into it.
09 And it's like I said, Limpisk had the like most awesome mosh pit I've ever been in, and I've been in a lot, you know, and it was just like, oh my god, I can't believe this is so much fun. You know. For example, we have a community made on Facebook and we are very active there. So right now at the festivals in Romana, you see a lot of dirty shirt T shirts there, so everybody's putting them. The pictures over there, we're here all over the world. Where are they going. They are making a picture and put it there. We are here and with the dirty shirt. It's a nice community representing the dirty shirt. Whatever they go. I love that and I love hearing what you said about the scene in Romania. Tell us more about that, because I don't think a lot of people think of Romania as this great metal scene.
58 Yeah. For me, as an outsider, I can say that in Italy the music scene you either play with a really, really huge pop star. I had the lack of playing with some prog bands in Italy that were known in the seventies even in America like BFM or Banco Muto So Corso. But other than that, there is no underground middle scene, while in Romania there is a huge, huge place for underground bands and do it yourself activities and concert organizations, and the scene is incredibly florid. Against me, seeing from an outsider, I see like way way probably subjectively that they do, but I actually can take that people really work to have a great time and venues are up to par compared to Italy, for instance, which is something that nobody expects.
46 So that's my take on it. But something to notice the fact that Romania started from zero after the revolution in eighteen nine or in the nineties. There was no venues, no festival, no professionals, no agency, is nothing, and it took some times to create something. But it's incredible to see now how new bands are becoming, new venues, new festivals. It's incredible compartively with twenty years ago or even ten years ago. And what I think is really nicely that I think Romania even are now a better metasine like other countries around US that was far beyond us, for example Hungary or Bulgaria, et cetera. Now we are better than that Italy. Of course metal scene in Italy. So funny thing is right before COVID, like I had road tripped Europe like three times before COVID, and the last one I was going to do, I was gonna go to Montenegro and then at my studio in the US.
41 When my neighbors who I was friends with, he's from Romania, He's like, well, if you go Montenegro, you have to go to Romania. So I had a trip plan for Montenegro, Croatia, Romania and then we had freaking COVID. So it's back on my list and now you convinced me even more. I need to go there. You should it because it's a different culture from what you I think you might expect. I love that. So any final words, you want to give the listeners and let them know how they can find out everything that's going on and connect with you guys. So search for us if I'm for yours listener, listeners, search as our internet dirty shot on Facebook, YouTube, what's up everywhere but Instagram of course. But if it's happened to come to Europe, check our tour released.
27 It will be an incredible experience for you. Yeah, we would love to go to America. We'll also good to go to Japan soon. But yes, look for us on any social media platform. And we also have a YouTube channel with very recent and very well produced live gigs where you can see what the band is all about. They said it also, they said all we need to say, well, you guys are awesome. I'm glad you're here at backing and thanks for being any Adventures of pipe. Man, Nice to meet you, man, Nice to meet you.
