04 Hey, you listen to this sure from four see Wow, Wake up America. It's time for the adventure. So pipe Man on W four CYD com West pom Beach is number one Internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures by Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here with vis. I'm Tom. I play guitars on sync. I'm Aiden, I play bass and do vocals.
46 I'm Connor and I'm the drummer. Nice here you are at Bloodstock. How the hell did that happen? It's been just like while we would we got us to play by Simon all. Last time we played here, it was like twenties sixteen, we played host. I was just like we were just so honored to be back here and being asked to play, and just coming back as punters as well. You know, like we come here pretty much every year. I know, you you and us like definitely, like my wallet doesn't enjoy it every year. Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure. It's nice to be on the other side. Yeah, I mean we've been coming here for so many years, and obviously we played back in twenty sixteen.
30 Did you say, yeah, my Memory's awful twenty sixteen, and we played the Yaga stage back then and obviously we've had a great response then. And then obviously a couple of months ago we had an email saying, you know, do you want to come back? It's like absolutely, let's do it nice. So obviously we played today. It was fantastic, great crowd, lovely people. The crew are fantastic. That's why I've heard about Bloodstarde and say, really take care of the artists. Yeah, yeah, no, absolutely, you know, every everybody from start to finish, shovels getting up on stage has been incredible. That's amazing because I'm from the States and they don't treat the artists at great from what I've heard. You know, I'm not an artist, but other artis have said to me that play over here, they're like, oh so much better. I know from a breast perspective, I like it better. I get treated differently here. So it's always good to hear that the arts are getting treated right, because without the artist, there is no festival. Well yeah, absolutely. You know you've got to look after the people that are not only bringing the audience to you, but you know, you've got to look after the audience as well.
30 So everything's got to work smoothly, and you know, everybody's got to be kind to each other. And I think that's what this festival actually symbolizes in some respect. He is, you know, acceptance of everybody and anyone, and that's the way it should be. That's why we're metal heads here, because we're one big family. We're not outcasts here. We're just all outcasts together. Yeah. Absolutely, we're all in the same boat here, right right. It's fantastic and anybody can be whoever they want to be and nobody judges. It's I think people outside our community don't understand. It's like I've had so many times in my life. What are your meddlehood or you're a devil worshiper or blah blah blah blah blah bullshit. Everyone just needs to let everyone be themselves. That's right. There's no point in being just yeah see anything just yeah. We live life, we all eat breeze, we've died, just scull live. I have this viewpoint we're one race, the human race. Yeah, you know, and the fact that matter is is we all have to live with ourselves. So fuck what everybody else says, because if you're not affecting somebody else's life negatively on purpose, you're not hurting any boy who gives a fuck? Why do people give a fuck what you do?
58 We go full rule in life. It's just don't be a dick. There you go. Were you here last night for kill Switch? Yes, he said don't be a dick. I left it back in my room, but I have like a little thing it says, don't be a p It's true we trouble ought to be honest because we're all a bit stupid, but we're not a dick to anyone. That's the difference from each other. It's not the role of being an idiot. It's being a dick that's the problem. You know. There's a difference. Like I'm arranginaling from New York, so I can be mouthy and sarcastic, but at the end of the day, it's all in love and not being a dick. Yeah. I mean, it's a pretty similar vibe for us, isn't it. Because we live in well, we were around Greater Manchester and that's kind of the vibe as well. It's just like you can be you can be an asshole to people, but like, don't be like malicious or anything. It's being an asshole and fun yea, and love. We all just rag on each other and we know it's we know it's we're all cool, you know what I mean.
01 Yeah, if anyone actually heard our conversations in a rehearsal room, they'd wonder how we are actually friends, right, or how we even actually managed to work at about them together. It's so funny you should say that, because like people in the States, if you're not from New York, they're like, oh, New York people are rude. No, you just know where you stand. Instead of you fake fucking southerns that say oh, bless your heart, which really means fuck you. We'll just say fuck you to your face. We won't tell it to somebody else. We'll tell it right to you, and then we'll hush and go do something cool together. Yeah, set fires or something exactly. Peace and keep the church. He's safe, that's right, or at least we'll say that on the air. He's gonna edit those. He just says, you know, burn the church.
53 He's on you. No, but that sounds good. Though, we are right. We have a bad reputation as metal heads, we don't need to confirm it or maybe or maybe we do. What's funny about that, As I was talking about that when ours one time and they're like, yeah, let's let's let them keep thinking that they should fear us, and then they won't come and fuck up our good time. To be honest that The thing about it is, though, is if actually, if all these people that have never been to like a metal festival, we've all ever came to a metal festival, the whole perception of it will be changed within about thirty five seconds. I have proof of that. You're ready for this story. I had one weekend where I had to have two festivals I was covering, so obviously I camp be there. So somebody worked for me. She was a country girl, and I'm like, you're gonna cover this festival and she's like, we never built or rock festival, much less metal. But and I said, here's what's gonna happen. You're gonna go to this festival and you're gonna find how fucking cool everybody is opposed to the country stuff that you're going to where a bunch of rednecks are getting drunk beating the shit out of each other and without any question of a doubt, there's a destruction debby Yeah, exactly, and you'll probably make lifelong friends that'll be like family. You might even meet a guy and you will be converted. So after that weekend she
24 comes back, she's like, oh my god, it was so much fun. She goes, I got a new boyfriend, a bunch of friends, I t bag desk guy, and I have a new favorite band. They're called Bring Me the Horizon. I'm like, yeah, I think I heard of them. Oh, I mean, that's the best thing about it is like we've been coming here for like ten years or so, and we've made lifelong friends here exactly. That pretty much like second family now, and it's like a second home for his here anyway. I go on torn do festivals like for months, and my kids are like, I don't know how you do that. You know, don't you out when other family members don't you want to stay set all at home. I'm no, that's where all my friends are. Like. When I get home, I'm kind of fucking depressed and I don't want to fucking deal with any of these assholes. But I missed my friends on the road. I mean this is like a holiday FROs this year, you know each time, isn't it? But even better this year we got to play it and obviously spread some of the kind of good cheer round. Yeah. There you go, get people to bang their heads and have a good time and then go to seeables. There it is.
31 Let's talk about your two albums here. Tell us about them so people can pick them up. Perfects. So the first one of the first chapter was twenty seventeen, don't we release? Uh? I like how you did that in Unison. I've just got to make sure because my memory is not great. And then for the following we released last year. Uh, that's twenty twenty two. It's twenty three now it is. But yeah, basically the first one was a concept album based on the Seven Deadly Sins. So obviously all the tracks on there, can you committed them? Are probably committed them? Are definitely we all have Maybe I don't want to speak for you guys, maybe myself. I want to know if he got it. I want to know if he got a hickey this weekend, he's got a selection.
28 I was waiting for the perfect moment to bring that up, and that was fucking it. Yeah, well, we all like to have fun here, so he's not the messiah. He's a very naughty boy. I mean, will be speaking about this a lot behind closed doors. He Oh yeah. His new nickname from the stage manager was love Bite. I love it. See that's what I mean about you know you guys from Manchester, me from me York. I can fucking tack on you like that. It's how we all enjoy each other's company. Or if I was actually nice to any of these two all the time, they'd be worried, exactly. The only way to put it, like, that's the way it is, though, right, if I'm nice to you, down't like what we normally do. What we normally do is we find each other's weak points. Then we will borrows that weak point until close to breaking, and then we'll continue there you go until one of us is a blubbering wreck on the floor. So it's come on, you get just like your music, right, Absolutely, that's the way it should be. So yeah, obviously, without speaking for the whole party here, apparently one of us has committed all the seven deadly sins.
43 There you go. But the second album was basically we kind of rewrote it during the lockdown. Obviously if the dark times as we like to call them, right, but we spent an awful lot of time rewriting a lot of songs and you know, kind of getting it just a bit better. We wanted to add that polish to it. A lot of it was kind of just invented a lot of frustrations on the album, especially lyrically. For meself, we just kind of send the Hamma down. We really didn't mean we just went absolutely berserk on the host. Thought let's get everything out, let's have a freedom speech, and you know, just let people know what we sound like again. You know I love that too. You know why because I personally believe if you're going to take a positive that in a lockdown, it's the fact that artists like you get to jump off the hamster wheel and actually create again. So, like you said, you kept like man getting barad. That's the way it used to be in the old days. Now it's like you just kind of get it out while you're on the trip to the next gig and finish it. Now I don't care if it's not finished, and gave you time to really make the music you want to meet.
43 I mean, we were happy with it when we finished it originally, you know, but obviously having a lot of time to think about things you're in lockdown, we just thought, let's just let's do it properly again, Let's just restart a lot restart, let's just let's just do we need to do with it. I think it was like a weird headspace in a lot of down, wasn't it. So I think when we look back on everything, like a year later, we were just like, we've got more in us, and like we can just put the hammer down this album, you know what I mean? And I think that kind of is the vibe of the album. It's just hammer down. I love it, Yeah, And that's that's kind of the vibe, you know. Cool. So let's tell everybody how they can connect you get your albums, not drop the fucking recorder.
26 And I had to say it. See that's the other thing too. You have to make money of yourself before other people do. Then it's no fundt Yeah exactly, there's no front form cause already made fun of myself. And just how they connect you buy your music, get your music, buy your merge, all that good stuff. Everything can be found at Vice Metal UK, all the handles for everything to Instagram, Facebook, band Camp, all the kind of the major ones Vice Metal UK. Then you can find Hello Wasp Yeah right, and I don't mean the band, I mean an actual flying Wasp. It's the mascot. But once again it's all a Vice Metal UK. One word you can find everything on there. Love it. Any final words you want to leave our listeners with, don't be a dick, don't be a dick, enjoy it. Those are the best words. Don't be a dick and listen to your fucking music. Listen, listen to our music. If you enjoy it, please buy a physical copy. Yes, it's how obviously it gets us back on the road, getting do what we need to do, and don't be a dick. Play it fucking mold that Yeah, that goes without saying questions. Do you have it available on eight track? Oh? Wow, No, but I have a feeling that's going to come back. Yeah, it may cassetts it out again, No, aren't me? Yeah, because there's shortage and vinyl. So many bands I have had even Madowgan's new albums on cassette. I mean I could understand why we went buck to vinyl. I know I don't get cassette because no,
58 no one wants to carry a pencil. I'm with It's on Hello, right and tape. You meet Scotch tape too, so when fucks up and gets eaten, you can slice it and tape it up. Say I've got bad things to do. That's right. Well, thanks for being here at Bloodstock, and thanks for being on the Adventures of plate Man. Thank you ever so much, Thanks forming, thank you, Thank you for listening to the Adventures of plate Man on W four CUI Radio.
