Hey, you have then too censure. I'm for see wow for you young why Coup America, It's time for the Adventures of pipe Man. I'll w four c why dot Com West pomp Beach is number one Internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man. You fable that you spell, Let's see through the fashion that you're feeding Si King and Gildas to pull you up. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four CY Radio and I'm here with until I wake Yes here at Welcome to Rockville. Who What the fuck does it feel like to play in the Daytona International Speedway. It feels like a dream today. I feel very grateful to be here. This is actually my very first festival. Wow, it takes the cake for a couple of first times. First festival, probably the biggest show I've ever played in my life. So you know, a lot of happy fans out there. When we got on the stage, the energy was there, the emotion was there. So just feeling very grateful for the opportunity. Nice and you, I can tell you you're in Florida playing a festival, and the reason why is because you have a wet washcloth on your head. Oh my goodness. I'm gonna be honest with you, man, I almost fainted like twice today. I've been walking around chugging gatorade and water and yeah, just trying my best to and it's a cool day. This is a cool day for Florida. We have a breeze. There's not normally a breeze unless it's a hurricane. And you know, it's super hot and human one hundred percent in humidity. Usually. I don't even think we're a one hundred today yet, and it'll be like it's weird though it gets so hot but never really breaks a hundred. It's a humidity that makes the difference. I don't even know how. That's why I knew, because I don't even know how bands performing this shit. Like, I'm like, yeah, he's definitely not Floridian over there. We're from a Buffalo, New York, where it's the opposite. It's extremely cold all the time, so we're not used to this crazy hot weather. But like I said, it's still just extremely grateful to be here. And even me, I was born in New York City, grew up in Jersey, and fuck Buffeto, fuck Buffalo. I'm from New Jersey. As well. What exit. I'm from Burden County. Nice. I was actually born in Brooklyn in Park Slope, and then I moved to Jersey. I moved to Ridgewood in two thousand and three. Nice and I've been in Jersey ever since. Nice every second. And see, as Jersey boys, we look at Buffalo like fuck that weather? Yeah, like because we because our weather is not that bad, Like we still get hot summers, like you know, we've broken over one hundred degrees before, but they definitely get more snow than we do. Yeah, I have no doubt a little bit. Yeah, there are times that randomly we wake up and we see just like four feet of snow on the ground and we're like what the fuck, like like what is this? But yeah, it's never as bad as what these boys experience. Yeah. I mean like I once was at New Year's and Niagara Falls okay, okay, which is about similar weather to Buffalo there. And I've been at Times Square and I've suffered through Times Square for like sixteen hours in the freezing cold, and I'm fine, mm hmmm. Niagara Falls, New Jersey, but half an hour before midnight while I was married, I told my wife and I never do that. She was in shock. I'm like, I'm going back to a hotel. I fucking can't deal with this anymore. You know that weather? So what's it like to play in that kind of weather? Now? Okay, if you were to play outside and festival and it was freezing cold, what would that be like? I would probably love it because my favorite season is fall. Man. I love it when it's a little cool, not too cold, but it's like just perfect and the leaves are changing and stuff like. That's my absolute favorite. But yeah, I'm definitely a fall guy for sure. There you go. I'd say I'd probably start throwing snowballs at people, right I have a huge snowball fight in the middle of the mashpit, so I probably have a blast August. I feel like I'm naturally cold blooded, so I'm just always cold, no matter what it could be like right now, and I'll just be freezing for no reason at all, so nothing would work. I probably wouldn't be playing a show, right right. Yeah, So I you know, I bring that up too, because people don't realize what bands deal with playing Like think think it's just a little bunch of fun, and it is, but there's brutal times, like like playing in Florida today, it was one of those days, for sure. But as much as it was brutal, I just like, I keep going back to it. I can't express how much it would it, how awesome it is to be here. You could probably make it ten degrees hotter and I'd still be like super stoked to be here. So yeah, and the crowd, Like does that blow your mind? Well, it was your first festival. Does it blow your mind that people were out at your show that early, especially in this heat, I'd say it. I guess we expected a lot less people. Like right when I first walked in and I looked, you know, we're going on in fifteen minutes, I'm looking out and I seen a couple hundred people and I'm like, yeah, that's amazing, Like that's a very good turnout for the first band of the day. And I walked away for about, like I said, ten fifteen minutes. I come back and it probably quadrupled from what I saw. There was probably at least around twenty five to four thousand people out there. So yeah, on a Thursday, first day at the festival, at noon, So like that that says a lot about your music though. You know, it's not just about the festival, because if you sucked, nobody would be there. They'd be sleeping in you know, a hands There was probably when I was asking people who's heard of us before, it was like a sea of people. There was probably over one hundred and fifty to two hundred people out there that were yelling the words. We could see them all the way from the stage, screaming the words. I jumped off the stage and I jumped into the crowd with them, and I was giving people the microphone heads up anybody who's coming to any future shows. That is a normal thing that we do. So I think that's I always love that, Like I that tells me that you're truly a musician when you do that, because a true musician is a fan. Yeah, and a fan is gonna be out there doing stuff like that, you know. I love it. I love The thing we want to do as a band is reach people and make them feel like, you know, they have a voice where they don't have one, make them feel like they're seeing let them know that they are seen, at least by us, and you know, just make sure that they know how much we value their support, because there's no way in how that we would ever be where we are today if it wasn't for all those wonderful people out there that support us and lift us up. So we just want to return the favor. Hey, I love that you're saying that because you know it shows that you care. Number one, you care about what impact you're making because everything you've said is so true. But not every band thinks that way. You know, people's voice matters for sure, Yeah, one hundred percent. And music to me, okay, we're a mental health awareness month, and to me, like on my live show yesterday, I was talking about that music is the best therapy, both for the artists and for me the listener. The artist, it's cathartic. You can get shit out that is in you. The listener can relate to that shit or put their own meaning and field they're not alone and they're part of something and that other people are going through what they're going through. And so to that, my hat's off to you. Even if your music sucked, might happen and your music doesn't suck, so that's even better. I'm one of the new vote, Like I am the new vocalist for the band so all the songs that we sung today was from another artist, from another vocalist. So we just got done finishing our second album, which is all of the lyrics that I written with the band as well. So you know that album is strongly revolving around the struggles of mental health. Some some hints of like redemption in there, and and really the whole album is just about recreating yourself from those dark places. And the reason why I wanted to write about that is because of how much music has changed my life and pulled me out of that, and I just want to do the same for other people. I want to make sure that they know that they're heard, know that they're not alone, know that giving up is not the best option, and we want people to stick around with us. I love it because in twenty twenty four, that's the best message any band could ever give, you know, And so I think we're going to the stars there it is. Well, thank you for that, because everybody needs it. There's too much negativity and ship bringing people down and making people have more issues. Yep, you know that we need bands like you that can pull us out of what we're in right now. Most definitely, i'd say that. The whole thing is, it's a symbiotic relationship. I like you said, I we all can can express those emotions and those feelings in those situations and those experiences that we've gone through. And then it also gives the listeners a chance to, like you said, feel like they're not alone, feel like they're heard, and feel like you know, there is someone out there that is going through what they're going through and they made it out. Maybe I can too. So that's the whole plan. Love it. So how do people connect to you guys? On socials? On the web, buy your merch check out other tour dates, check out your new music, all that good stuff. So on Instagram you can find us at Until I Wake and yeah, any tickets. As far as like buying tickets to our upcoming shows, you could just find us on until I Wake dot com and click the tour section and see if we're coming to a sitting near you. And So, now that you're in the band, are you gonna are you in competition to h up your tattoo game compared to your compadres there that's been a question that a lot of people have been asking me. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was working a sales job. I just resigned. But it was a job that I was talking to CEOs and you know, business owners of multi million dollar companies, So a lot of tattoos, neck tattoos, face tats all that other stuff wasn't really on my scope of things that I was gonna do. But as far as moving forward, I mean, I love tattoos. I'm just very particular about what I put on myself. So yeah, I guess we'll just see what happens. You guys all just have to come to the show and start counting my tattoos. Yeah, there I have three. Now you could do a contest, yeah, like for the band, like somebody could you know, win a CD or something, you know like that get so many texts? I have this. Yeah, it's kind of like the jar where you guess how many marbles are in the jar. Yeah. And I gotta tell you, whoever did your owl man that I that I like the detail to that high. It just blows my mind at this tattoo is actually my This whole half sleep is my first tattoo. I got it right after I turned seventeen and I had to get like my mom's approval, and then my dad bringing my birth certificate and everything, and I got this done in New Jersey. I forgot the artist's name, but because I go to a different artist now. But this is probably the coolest tattoo I've ever gotten for like a first tattoo, I definitely want to go ball that bad ass for first you too. Usually first tattoos or the ones are like, oh, I didn't see that. Yeah, there's a microphone like an old fashioned contenter. Detail to that microphone too too, and then an hourglass, and then there's roses here, and then those those Roman numerals. The guitarist from Ozzy Osbourne's band, his name is Randy Rhodes and now inspired me to play music. I saw Randy right before he died. Really yeah, I am very jealous. I actually have one of Carl Sandobo's Polkadot flying Be's that I had built years ago. It's like in my studio and I do not bring that out of a house ever. My favorite, all time ever, I have a shirt I can't wear anymore from high school. That's a Nazzi Diary of a Madman shirt and I had it. I went to the mall and I had custom made and put in memory of Randy Road. I love that so much. Yeah, he's definitely who pushed me to play and wanting to do what I do now. And yeah, that's so cool. How you know him and you've seen him. That's like, I'm so jealous and I wish I could, you know, time travel back to like nineteen eighty and se right, So check out the whole story. So it's one of those things where I told my dad I was sleeping at my bro's house, and he told his parents who sleep at my house, and was New Year's and we went to see Ozzie and then we go back and you know, we're living in Agura, California and Lake Lindero, and there's a lake below my house. So we go back to my house and go down by the lake, so my dad couldn't see us, and we just stayed there all night and we're gonna just like walk in in the morning or whatever. My next door neighbor woman comes out. I thought, uh, oh, she's gonna bust us. She sees us in all the Ozzie gear. She's like, did you got did you boys go to Ozzy concert last night? And We're like, yeah. She goes, stay right there, hold on, I want to get my husband, okay, and like we're worried, like we're going to jail or something. Yeah, And her husband comes out, invites us up to the house. Turns out he was Ozzy's promoter. Okay, fucking And he brings us into his house, into his studio, which was wall to wall cassette tapes. Okay, and he's giving us all this Ozzy schwag. And then he hands me this cassette tape. Listen this band. They're not in the US yet, they'll be here in six months and they're gonna be huge. And that band was accept and it was the song fast as a Shark that really yeah wow, And you know it's funny, Like I'm from the thrash metow community, so I have a bunch of friends. I was talking to my bro who used to be the guitars for Anthrax, Dan Spitz, and where I was talking about that. He goes, you know, that song is the first ever thrash metal song. He goes, we were all like when the Big four were all together, we were all listening at shing going what the fuck is with that double bass? That was the double bass drum like the original. And it's so funny we talk about fast because me and my best bro would go places nowadays and I'd play him some stuff like from the old days and he goes, I don't know. I thought it was a lot faster back then. Yeah, I'm like it was then, but not for today, I think. So, like with Slayer, like I felt like they were way ahead of their time with like when all those thrash bands started coming out of nowhere, and it was definitely really cool. Yeah, so again, tell everybody how they can reach out to you, get your merch, do all that stuff and anything we missed that you want to know. Yeah. So biggest thing is obviously our band is Until I Wake. The biggest announcement that we have is we are dropping a gold record in November. There is gonna be no skips on this album, So anybody out there that's like, ah, yeah, I skipped some songs that No, this is an album back to back hits, back and forth. There's gonna be some rapping on it, There's gonna be a lot of singing. There's gonna be some absolutely bone crunching screams on that album. So make sure you guys stay in touch with us via Instagram, Facebook at until I wake and we look forward to seeing you guys at the next show. Well, thanks for being so bad us here at Welcome to Rockville, and thanks for being on the Adventures of Pipe Man. Thank you so much for having us.
