04 Hi, you have done too, Yes, that's true. For see why Crazy Young. This is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio and I'm here. With Man I got No Fernandes from One Process and Christoph Schultz Nice here at Download Festival. Have you played download before? No, it's the first time. Really, Well you think so far? I mean it's just been here like ten minutes or something. We saw the huge camping camping stuff over there, which you yeah, looked huge, but apart from that, we haven't checked it out yet.
49 Well, there you go. You got a lot to check out, right, So tell our listeners a little bit about your band and how you would describe your music. And I don't mean genre. I mean I like to hear how the what the artist things in our music. So then is call on process and we're doing very technical, guitar focused. Heavy music. Nice yep. What was that one moment for both of you guys that you woke up one day and you're like, this is what I want to do? Wow? I think when when I met him and we started like recording stuff, it was like two thousand and twelve, twenty thirteen, we really realized, okay that could be a very good, good thing, and especially like in twenty eighteen when we got our Bassis and Drama, we immediately thought, Okay, that's the perfect lineup for us, and that's.
54 What we all wanted to do. So it's a it's a process to I ain't the real people who all want to prioritize the band. Yeah, So that's what we did, and that was a good choice. I would say, oh, you. Mean the one moment, right, Like the one moment where whatever. You want to say, Okay, I don't care, that's why I said, but whatever you want to set. Well, I think it was like probably like one of the headlining shows where like actually can see while people are like here from like because of the music you right, yeah, one of one of these shows. It was the moment, yeah, because it's a trip.
36 Right. You write music, okay, and you know you like it, but you're not sure if everybody else does. So, like you come here to a like place like download and you play a set and everybody's like into it, that's like wow, right, that's true because you don't know and even coming to a big festival like this, you're exposed to a lot of new people. So when they're like singing your music back to you or mashing in the pit, it must like be like insane because you're like, holy shit, how do they even know the lyrics. One thing that was really that really stood out this year we went to Asia and Australia for the first time and we played like our biggest heatline shows in China. Wow, we've never been to this place before, like an hour hole, like an hour of life. We've never been to this place.
25 And then we've been there and we've played in front of like eight hundred people and what was it in Shanghai, eight hundred and fifty people or something in Shanghai and there that was nuts. And they do love their music because. Before COVID, they just have this guy come from Billboard to Estates to the festivals from Billboard China and I would talk to him and that, like, China is so into music, and being an American, I wouldn't have thought that, especially metal or punk music. I would think they wouldn't be allowed to even listen to it there. It's what you think being an American. Yeah, so it's kind of a trip when you go there. It's like holy crap, because I think Asia is one of the best places to play, you know, from what I've heard from bands.
11 I would say it's so and so we did the whole tour just with flying with it, like seventeen flights, which was like a personal nightmare for me because I had flying. So that was like, you know, the appreciation, like the culture difference, and like the new people that you meet and you would never think of, like people from so far away would love your music. This is what was really insane. This is really what stood out. Makes the world a lot smaller. Oh it does, because you don't imagine that. It's like I like, first time I ever came to Europe from America, I remember going, what were they talking about? Because like America, while I was growing up, it's like, Oh, don't go anywhere else.
55 It's scary out there. We're in the free country. I went to Europe. I'm like, what were they talking about? I feel freeer here than I do at home. Yeah. Yeah, where are you guys from. We're from Germany actually, so yeah. Yeah for us, like going through the US a couple of years ago, was was pretty new as a band. Yeah, and. Yeah, with the with the Asia thing, what I wanted to say as well, is like when you compare all the different continents, how you get treated as a band, I would say, like, like the Asian countries, they treat you the best. In a way. Yeah, that's why I heard. That's what I was saying. That was awesome. Yeah, and here what was fine as well?
43 Have you guys ever played Vadkan No, we never played Varks your home country. I know it would be sick. Definitely, we need to make that happen. Yeah, sooner or later, there you go. I'm pretty sure, like we're too like new and modern for vacking, right maybe, but you never know. You never know. They really love their traditional metal, Yeah they do, which I love too, But. I'm not sure if we would like I think we would do pretty good at fucking but I'm yeah. I don't know. We'll see. And that's the thing too. Like another like when you're not from somewhere you never imagine. First time I went to Berlin, I'm like, oh my god, this is the best music scene I've ever seen. And you don't. You're over in the States. You don't think of Germany or Berlin as that. And it was so like it was so the opposite of what you grew up thinking, not being from there, and like I think it's one of the coolest cities in the world. Personally, Yeah, Berlin.
45 Is really huge. Yeah, and it's really like full of musicians and really like full of different people and personalities and personally like Berlin for me is just like I don't know, like I don't like the city that much. Well, you usually when you live someplace, it's kind of like that, right, I don't like Miami and I live in Florida, all. Right, yeah, No, it's fun, especially like for getting getting your foot to the market. I think Berlin is a great place like our basis. You listen Berlin and he produced like a couple of like German rapid hip hop artists. So that's the way to go, like when it is when it comes to Germany. Sure. So now I have a trivia question about your country, because my daughter and son were stationed in Germany in the military.
34 Probably now a hometown, then what's your hometown? So my my son was in what is it the Air Force base Rams? Is it Ramstein? Oh? The air was racism Coumstein. Yeah, yeah, but my daughter was in Bambholder and that's the trivia question, do you know where Baumholder is? Baumholder never never heard of that. It's like this little teeny town in the middle of nowhere. I couldn't even tell you where it is. But it's so funny to me that most of the Germans I meet and I even dated a German from Lingoln and nobody knows where it is. And it wasn't my favorite place.
17 It is definitely old school German, like you goes is in the south or it's kind of like in the middle and would maybe repeat it again b A U M h O L d e R bomvoide Yeah, see American, I said it wrong. Yeah, and like as Americans and the military people they say bombholder. Yeah, I know, yeah, so say it for me, so I say it right the next time. Bomvoid ah. So so that h is pronounced kind of like a VB sound like bother.
57 I could in between there, oh okay, and at the age is just like for like doing the oh longer. Yeah. I tried to learn German. It's such a hard language to learn. Like when I was dating this girl, I was trying to learn it so we could communicate German. And I was like, oh, this is hard. It's like one of the hardest languages to learn. It's wild. Oh, but it's fun. You're like, if you read just like the letters for example, like when you learn French, everything sounds completely different than you like read it. Yeah, it's totally different, and Germany is quite the opposite. You read it and it can just like really go through each letter and it sounds like you would read it.
41 That makes sense because once I started looking up, like on Instagram and TikTok German stuff, I'd start getting it all. Yeah, And then I was seeing stuff where they were doing that. They would spell it out and the person saying, I'm like, now that makes sense. That's a good way to teach it. You know. Do you do any of your songs in German? No? Oh, we have one, but. I don't like it. I love it. Well, you know, you write a lot of songs. Sometimes people don't realize artists don't like every song they write. That's why it doesn't go on the album. What else you got going up after and going on after? Download music wise, tour wise, hey, and.
21 At Yeah, we have a tour with August Ben sweat Oh I love that sick Yeah, and also grasp Pop Resurrection first. I might be at Resurrection fast. I didn't get the approval yet. I did grasp Pop last year because it wasn't the same weekend as hell Fest. But I always do health Fest every year, so I'm going to hell Fest this year. Okay, but grasp Pop's a coal festival. I think I'm looking forward to all these festivals. It's my first time being at these festivals really, so yeah, oh yeah, be exciting. It's also Octension. Oh okay. Yeah, it's fun too to go to the different festivals because they're all so different. Cool.
02 How do people reach you guys on socials on the web check out your music, your merch tour dates, all that stuff. It's just unprocessed band dot com. Nice. That's easy, and then they can connect to everything pretty much because they have to buy your merch or right, and they can't listen to my show. Well, thanks a lot for being here at download and thanks for being on the Adventures of Payment. Thank you. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Patemn on w for CUI Radio.
