00 Hey, you love them too, that's sure. I'm come to see why you wake up America. It's time for the Adventure. So pipe Man on W four c why dot com West Palm Beach is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. Oh right now, so that's breakon. How have you been through? And an a sicking sown that the famous will soon let me kid, that's it's the pipe Man here on the Adventure five Man W FOURCY Radio. And I'm here with Rex and I'm Zach, I'm kingz Battle and we are on Cure. Thank you for having us, Hey, thank you for being here. A welcome to Rockville. Man, you're rocking this place. Oh well, thank you. Did you have a chance to catch us set? I wish I haven't left here? Yes?

19 Today? So I always like to catch the sets of the band's on airviewing. But sometimes you know how it goes. It just work out to put you on the spot or anything. You can put me on the spot. You can give me ship for it too, Like you should have ended all your airviews and come to our set. Well, I will say you are like two miles away from the stage over here. Oh I know, right, and I've done that walk a lot, like fucking hey man, I don't need to go to the gym. I just go to festivals. Yeah, like, why do people go to the gym. Just go to festivals. You get more of a workout and have a good time. You might even get laid. You might get later to the gym too. Who knows that's true too? So that part, well, you know who else said something like that. So I asked this. I asked this question, which is like, okay, if you were to tell one story, good or bad, on this musical journey that when you're eighty you're going to talk about. And I asked that of Leonard skinnerd and Gary Rosenton, lam wust In Peace. He goes, he goes when we had sex with the Spice girls backstage. She's like, wait, edit that out, don't make that public. Wow. Yeah, I don't know why he wouldn't want to be telling everybody that, but because he's funny. Yeah, he was a funny motherfucker. So tell us about you guys and your music. For those who have not heard you before, how would you describe it? Because I hate how you guys get boxed in the genres A artists as artists like, usually it's not even right, you know, so I'd rather hear the artists point

50 of view. I think first let's everybody give one word to describe it, and then we'll talk a little bit more in depth. Started with us. I love that people. I feel like people ask us that a lot in interviews, and I was like, let's flip the script. Well, I love that. I'll go with unique, melodic, punchy, powerful. Okay, So before you explain, there's another thing I kind of do because the genre thing is so stupid. With Michael Johns and sub gens, pretty much every band could have their own genre. So a lot of times I'll have bands that will, you know, name their own genre. So now we have unique melodic What was the third one? Punchy? So you are unique mod or unique melodic punchy? What was yours? A powerful? Powerful, grind rock? Grind rock? Okay, so you aswer that question is we'll just say metal with a lot of different influences. I guess you know.

57 I'll put you on the spot again. How about this? Do it on the aesthetic. If you had to, you know, pick a genre and a subgenre, what would you say so I'm thinking hardcore metallic punk. That's not quite accurate, but I know it's not accurate about you said aesthetics, So like I'm seeing like, like what could be hawks like to you know, like two months ago, my hair was like yours, except it was blue here and black up here, and I had you know, back here. So like, it's part punk, part metal because I come from the time where long hairs couldn't go to punk shows and punks can't go to metal shows. Yeah, so now I figure if you have half punk half metal, you can go to both. I like that. And now you got kind of the more astute cut if you will. Yeah, I'm trying to be serious. It looks good, right, Well there you go. Good.

00 So anyway, I would say we're a mettle band with a lot of different influences, and for anybody that that does know us, you'll know that over the course of our six years as a band, we've had a lot of sort of different musical genres. You could say we were different musical subgenres, you know, depending on the year. But I think that's pretty normal for people that started so young. So Zach's my brother. You can't see us in this interview. But yeah, we look very similar. Who's the better looking brother? So anyway, see, I put you on this spot this time paybacks a bit. You're right, You're right right. That's because he knows it's you. I think, No matter what I say, there's no right answer right now. Yeah, yeah, okay, let's what instead of asking? Okay? Right here, live on the air, arm wrestle.

53 Yes, we've done that once before. It's always a tie. But I'm down to try. And you guys announced, okay as they arm wrestle, you guys announced, crazy. Let me slide around to the side. I'm a terrible announcer. Oh let me get out of the way here and hold on, get my phone out in video it So if you try to put me on the spot any more, I'm gonna use it as blackmail. Let's getting nice, fat, much more serious than expected. Who's gonna count off? Go? Okay? Announced? It's like a looks like a dead tide at this point. A lot of banter back and forth. I don't know, but he's getting pretty red in the face over there. Yeah, he he's in trouble. He's in big trouble. I don't know. I'm this is great. It's good stuff. Okay. People we're here their arm wrestling for who is the better looking brother, and it's not looking good for the one over here. Uh oh, look at us. Zach is coming up. H oh oh, here's oh look he's he's not even breathing over there. He's gonna die. He's like, he's like, I can't let

23 my brother beat me. I called draw. I called draw. Thank god you did your set, because I might have just ruined your set if you were playing. I mean, my elbow is sort of hurt, so we'll call it tie. That's fair. That's fair. I think that was a tie for sure. Now who wasn't trying hard? It was very obvious that you were. Oh good stuff. So is that is that what you do on stage? Too? Like do you battle each other as brothers? I mean there's been no yeah say so. At the end of the instrumental solo section, we kind of trade solos and then we play something in harmony together where the whole band is sort of killing it. If I say so myself, nice, Yeah, Well you guys do our badass. Okay. I wish I was at your set because you're badass. Everybody's got to check you out, check out your music. Most importantly, buy your merch, because bands don't survive without merch. So let's I will say, at this festival, it was really cool to see there were a lot of people that had shirts that we were selling on prior tours, a lot of people with hats and you know, just Uncured merch in general. So that was that was way cool. Does that kind of blow your mind when you see your own ship, like you're up on stage and you see your own ship in the audience. I will say, every time I see it, you get this

54 little like hit of like, oh let's go you know, so I don't think I'll ever go away, but you know, it's it's just makes me feel I guess proud that people are, you know, like openly fans of Uncured. I love it right, And I would add to that like we also haven't ever played in Daytona before, so it's cool to see people from in Daytona with our merch. You know, wow, they got it's somewhere else. And I will say, you know, when you're at a concert, there's like four bands you could wear one of those four band shirts. Here there's about eighty bands. You could wear one of eighty band shirts, and a lot of people today picked an Uncured shirt. So that's what that definitely does say a lot. Yeah, okay, and it's like, you know, basically, Daytona loves you guys like that. They're obsessed with you guys, so take it. Yeah, that's why you're here at Welcome to Rockville. See Danny Wimmer heard that, and that's why I said, you guys got to come playing the bill because everybody in Daytona said they don't want our festival here unless Uncured plays. And here you are. And we got the Incarceration coming up nice in July, so we can't wait for that one.

01 Have you been to that one yet? Not yet? This is this is our first Danny Wimmer Festival and the second one. That's gonna be the second one, so I do that one every year too, And like this is iconic because it's the Daytona Speedway put. Incarceration is Shawshank prison Man. Oh my god, it's gonna be. My daughter always says, because I do you know, I do radio coverage at all the festivals, and she's like, so you're excited to go to this festival I'm like, I don't know if excited it's a word. I love doing it, but when you're doing it every weekend, I don't know if exciting is the word. But when I got to Ink the first time I called her from the prison yard, I'm like, I'm calling you from the Shawshank prison yard. Now I'm exciting. Is it like where they film Saw? Oh, yeah, you can go on tour in the prison. I didn't even realize that. Yeah, you go on tour in the prison. You play in the prison yard and there's a live prison next door that they're out there listening to you, like you're Johnny Cash playing to the prison. That's cool. I didn't even realize all that. Yeah, well this was a real prison too, but they shut it down and it's haunted so that there's a lot about this venue that is so cool. I mean, listen, one morning I was out there taking pictures and there was this dude from this band. He comes up to me. He goes, hey, can you take my picture with the prison, I'll take yours. And he's like, look at us, we're fanboying out on Trushank prison. That is awesome. I've seen the prison movie is like my one of my favorite genres of movie. Yeah. I don't

31 know why. Something about seeing it just makes you feel very grateful for not being right right, But yeah, that's awesome. I did not realize that, Oh you're gonna have Oh you're gonna have so much fun, so much fun. You'll get to go on the tour. They have a the haunted thing downstairs. They have a whole tattoo thing upstairs in the prison and it's all in the prison and the stages are outside in the prison yard. That's so cool. That's so cool. Now do you work with Jenny Wimmer and co? Where do you? No? I just I'm partnered with their festival. So I do radio coverage at older festivals, do promotions. I own several radio stations and partnered with iHeart and Pandora and Spotify and Amazon Music.

11 So I do feel Have we done an interview together before? Probably because pipe Man sounds so familiar to me. I'm sure we did, because right, it sounds familiar to me too, And like you, you know, you got these things swirling in your head after doing so many it's like what festival am I? Now? You hear people say that in like in marketing or any any of that kind of thing where you're not familiar with somebody takes you need to hear it from three different sources before it finally clicks. True story. So if this is our second time, next time you'd be like, ah, this, guys, there you go. I'll remember by you given me shit to put me on the spot. So that's all impression. That's a good I'm from New York and New Jersey. That's actually a good impression where I forgot about that, right and you're booting, Oh, that's cool.

58 Yeah. So I'm originally from Low Falls, Montclair, Roseland, but I've lived all over Jersey. Ive uh huh. I've lived in the Jefferson township up in Lake a pack On in the mountains there, i lived down the shore, I've lived. I've lived all over Jersey. I'm an told old Jersey boy. That's awesome. Yeah, so now, and I thought I knew that, but you know again the stuff swirl in your head. So now I like even more. And now you've redeemed yourself because that's that Sarcasm is a Jersey thing. If you're from Jersey and you use sarcasm or condescending tonalities, then you're cool. Anywhere else you're an asshole. You know, that's something you do with your friends, so it like it's a noub.

43 I was gonna say intimacy, but people don't get it. A lot of people don't get that though. You know, it's like it is something you. I wouldn't do it with people I don't like. I don't give a crap enough to be sarcastic or condescending to. So that explains it there, and now I will say also that my alien task to buy your merchant. They can't listen to this interview or any others anymore. Thank you very much. Yeah, we know that's the only way you survived because you're getting screwed everywhere else and you're giving us such great music and therapy because music is the best therapy. So you deserve to get rewarded. So people out there keep buying no shirts, that's right, Thank you very much, And if you do have an uncure shirt, come to incarceration or any of our upcoming tour dates in one of them. Nice all right, guys, Well, thanks for being here and thanks for being on the Adventures of Pike man Gean.

33 Thank you so much. Thank you for listening to the adventures of Pipe Man on W for CUI Radio.
