04 Hey, you live one too? Is such? Sure, I'm coming. I'm for see why for you wake up of America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on W four CWY dot com west pom Beats his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. Can't you say what that w This is phipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man before cy Radio, and I'm here with you here with Becky. I'm Ben and we are from tribe of gaists. There you go. You know why I do that because sometimes the band says their name better than I do, whether it's pronouncing it right, which yours is easy, or like some of them will be like Drive of Ghosts. It's more fun that way. Sly interviewed technique, you know, right, But it is a sly thing because how many interviewers mispronounced people's band names. And I think that's fucking horrible.
34 Where are you going to go from there? I'd be pissed if I was the RS, I'm like, you don't even know how to say our fucking band name? Done, I'm done. I would get up and walk away just for fun. So here you are at Bloodstock. How'd that happen? Well, this is actually our second time here. We played the new Blood stage last year and we actually spoke with you last year. We have a Yes, I remembered you when I was looking over, I'm like, she looks familiar. And but last year I had blue hair and it was long. I had pink and yellow hair to change. That's right. So twelve months later we're back. We played Sophie Lancaster stage this year. Nice and we got asked a few months after our New Blob performance. Wow, so you must have impressed them a lot. Yeah, well invite us back.
32 So I don't have been that bad. Yeah, exactly. And I think it's an honor to play on that stage. Fuck the main stage. I think that's the more important stage. It was my favorite stage last year when we stayed for the whole festival last year, and it had some of my favorite acts on and like Sleeep, Token, Malevolence all those last year and it was so much fun. Did you see the lineup for next year yet? Yes? God, might have to come, might have come again? Play again? Look, yeah, they're probably listening to this, the powers that be. I'm going to tell them they have to bring you back. Next to your repeat, there we go. That's it. We'll be back again third time charm hat trick. Yeah, but yeah, it's such an honor to be here, especially with the band. That's I'd say we're gaining momentum, but we're still not that well known really right, but we've had some recent releases coming up, but we've started to gather a little bit of momentum. We're now with management type by the management now and I think we're starting to see a little something. We've been like featured, we're featured in the karrang chart a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, so our single that came out a couple of weeks ago, and we're starting to see the evental effects and some of that sort of stuff. So just gotta keep going.
58 Really, there we go. Well, you know what they say, it takes twenty years to become an overnight success. Absolutely, I think a mentallarchy. You know, they ate bologney sandwiches without bread for ten years and slept on a little floor in a room, not a house, but one room, all of them. Oh man, But so what's been happening in the past year? So we oh God, trying to think we've played a little shows. Yeah, the main thing starting out there, so i'd getting the malls doing the shows, and yeah, working on releases. Really that's been our main objective. Yeah, we've done a lot of recording this year, and hopefully we'll be able to maybe announce a body of work of some type to come out in the early next year. So yeah, I think the main thing's been trying getting here, playing new Blood and then seeing how much we want this and then just keep fighting for it really, and I think we kind of put everything in place now where we're kind of ready to like really press the big red button and keep going. There you go. See.
11 I like hearing that because sometimes bands will get frustrated or it'll be no drama or whatever else. So when you hear that kind of attitude that says it all right there, that's how you last. Yeah, well it's still fun. Yeah, the thing, it's gotta be fun, even if it just stays this level wherever we're having a blast, just driving out to different venue to review each just like yeah, that's so important too, because listen, you're not having fun, this is the wrong fucking job. There's nothing redeeming about it. If you're not having fun. And you can see it with certain bands on stage, like you can tell they don't want to fucking be together, and I think it portrays to the audience. I'd rather see some way up there and know like, man, they're having the time and their fucking life. Yeah, I guess, well we've got mind, isn't it. Just being on stage is like probably one of our favorite things.
14 Yeah. Like like sometimes as I've been looking at like you know, podcasts and things, and somebody will talk about like, you don't need to be a gigging musician anymore if you want to make a career out of it, which then makes me feel really sad because it's it's honest, like that's kind of what we do it for. Like record you know, we've had an amazing time of our producer working on the music that we can hopefully announce more soon off and they helped us with our single Hive that came out of our POAs Go. But the main thing for us is be able to perform live and to keep doing that regularly because it used to be the exact opposite, Like Mettagan is as big as they are because of performing like live, Mataga is what created the mataga we have today. Definitely that's the way it should be, I think, because this whole another world. You know, there's even some bands I like and if they're not good live, Yeah, but there's other bands I didn't like it all, and then I saw them live.
13 I'm like, oh my fucking god, I love them now. It's so strange Poliz, Yeah, exactly. Well, because you have to put on a show, and if you're somebody like you that loves doing it, you're gonna put on a show. The ones are saying you don't have the gig anymore, they probably don't want a gig, so when they do gig, you can tell they don't want bee though. That's my opinion. So what is the craziest thing has happened on this musical journey for you guys, And it might be different for both of you. That's a very question, right, Yeah, stump me and I lost the words. I love that.
56 I don't know. I'd say the gig we've just done it's probably the craziest thing I've ever What made it crazy? Just at a festival, big stage, good crowds. Yeah, it's completely the biggest gig I've ever done. And yeah, we all loved it so and I hopefully carry it off nice now about you. I think we placed some interesting shows. There was one that Ben couldn't make because we put on where We're From from Placebo, Brighton in the UK and every year there's a festival called the Great Escape, right, and it's very buzzy. It's more kind of like industry showcases and things like that, and we were really eager to play. We applied to play a while ago but didn't hear anything back from the management checks. It's a very weird festival that's kind of made up of different promotors putting on little shows across various venues, and so Ben books holiday because it didn't look like we're going to do it. And then two weeks before we decided shall we just put on our own show and Ben sadly had to be cut out.
07 Ben, we put him on backing track and we played above a fish and chip shop. That's funny. Yeah, it was really really fun. We like we pulled all together, like all this gear, we put on our own like PA system, shoved it all in, got a load of bands on, ran the night and it was really really fun, really just really surreal experience. I love shit like that. Like in the States, they used to have this thing during during the Warp Tour days, Yeah, the Hot Topic Tour and bands would go on tour playing at Hot topics all along all over the country. The store, you know, like and I don't even know if they have a hot topic here, it's a goth Well now it's more fucking commercial, but used to be the coolest store ever. Was like a goth metal punk store in the malls, Okay, so basically, and it was a small, like boutique size store and like these bands would play inside the store in the mall and people fucking loved it, you know, and it's just a lot of fun. And then you know it's your type of vibe because when I say you're I mean the band's playing because the type of store it was, you know, because it went hand in hand, and it's just like kind of a cool thing and almost like a warm
39 up for doing Warp Tour, which was a big do you know about Warp Tour, it's what they were the sponsor. Yeah, So Kevin Lyman, one of the biggest producers in the States, he came up with this concept. Okay, I happened for me years. It was very popular. Check this out your artists. This will freak you out. It was a touring festival, so it was a festival that was on tour, but bands, the way he structured it, didn't know what time they were playing till morning of it would switch it up, so you could have like the headliner play first, and like the the nobody band be the headliner, and it would just switch. And even as press, I couldn't schedule interviews like we scheduled an interview, didn't schedule interviews because we didn't know what time the band was playing. So you would show up and they'd have a table like this, and they'd have like a sign up sheet and it would show the times that the bands were available, and he signed up for whoever you wanted to interview it. That's crazy. As first, I hated it before I did it.
54 I'm like, you gotta became me, Like that is gonna suck because you can't do anything to prepare or anything. I'm okay with that part because I don't need to. But a lot of press people do, you know, So that's why they wouldn't do a Livies me. They used to put me in a trailer and just bring one band after another into me because I signed up for all of them, you know, and I don't care if I didn't know the fucking band. Okay, I, as you know from dealing with I can just talk, you know. And but it is kind At first I was like, Oh, that's gonna suck, and then when I did, I'm like, it's actually kind of cool because I have no pressure now I don't have to worry about any schedule. I'll have to worry about any research to show up and just do it, you know, And it turned out to be a lot more fun. I don't know if it's more fun for the artists, but artists always wanted to be on Warped Tour.
50 Yeah, it sounds fun to me right back. Could you imagine, you know, you show up and they're like, okay, you're playing at ten am. Or you show up and they're like, uh, you're on at ten pm and you have no clue. So part of what plays into that is imagine if you're a band at parties tonight before and you're like, oh fuckah right yeah, or you get to play day in the morning and you're free for the rest of the day or whatever. So but he was smart. He saw the he saw how the industry was changing, and that's why he ended Warped Tour Like Warpedor was the biggest festival thing in the country, and he saw where the end was coming. And it was true because as right before it was not as popular, and it wasn't because his structures just the way to the music businesses. As you guys know, it's a shave a smart move, right, I mean he should bring it back.
52 Well, I think they really you know with like you know, like was it We Are Young festival? What was that? Like, Yeah, yeah, we are Ye, there's We Are Young And there's a couple more that yeah that you know they've really it's o the revival basically is that scene so exactly. I think it could be a brilliant opportunity to kind of seize it. If but if there's you know, if they're not going to do We Are Young again for a couple of years or something, the problem is too. Kevin Lyman was a genius. There are a couple of people that tried to do it and didn't succeed. You gotta be a good promoter, I know, what you're doing, Like, you don't have this crowd up out here unless you're a fucking brilliant promoter to get the people here. It doesn't matter what the lineup is. If you're not promiant, you're not coming.
33 You know, it's not build it and they will come. It's build it and promote the shit out of it. And then when you think you've done enough, promote it even more. You know, So, what else do we want to talk about that we haven't touched on yet that we need the listeners to know. I'm just trying to think. I mean, we've released a single a couple of weeks ago TI that has some really well it's been receiving some recogition from Karrang got in the Karrang chart, which was a big milestone for us. And I think at the moment, because we have to there's some stuff we can't talk about, which is really that's okay. That's why they need to connect you on socials and underwear since you can't talk about and they have to sign up for notifications so they can find out about it.
28 Absolutely, we're really really hoping that we can share the news on our socials and a lot of this stuff maybe in the next couple of weeks. Nice. So we're on Instagram five G spands. We're on Facebook X. Now out I didn't I didn't even like Twitter to begin with, and now it's just stupid calling it X. I mean, like, I know, it was actually brilliant. You're tweeting something. Now what are you doing? I don't know what you're doing. It makes no sense someone. Yeah, you're splitting up with him. Yeah, it sounds like you're unfriendly non Facebook, right, ye. So how about TikTok. We are on TikTok as well. So we love we have we really love. Actually we've got a really good friends of ours who obviously does a photography, but they also have something called dad Cam, which is like an old like ninety two thousand VHS handheld and they're amazing and we just we literally just do like blogs, but then we just cut it into like a reel, so it's just like a minute and a half of just the calinage that kind of happens. I love it. Backstage and like all the way to shows and stuff is really fun.
41 So there's a load of those on there. That's pretty cool. I love that. So man, it's cool you're here again. We gotta see the three peat. And thanks for being here, and thanks for being on the Adventures of paint Man. Thank you. Maybe we're back next year, who knows. That's what I'm saying. We need that three peat. I'm going to keep saying. There's Michelle. I said it loud enough so she can hear me walking by. She doesn't book them, but she knows the power. Does that be? So there you go. I think you will be though, because you guys rock. We'll keep her fake this girls to teeth the fag. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Fate Man on W four CUI Radio.
