04 Hey, you love them too, sus. Sure, I'm come from woe. Why wake up America. It's time for the adventures. So pipe Man on w for cy dot com West Palm Beach is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the white Man side. What would overpeck shy, It's it's the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W for c Y Radio. And I'm here with Andy from Torchbarre and yours truly h memo and I'm the ra man. But she Michael leb. See. I'm glad I did it that way because I would never gotten man out of my mouth.

07 You can, you can just call him mo. It's fun. That's what that's that's what we do. It's much easier. Oh but I love it. That was great though, you know, thank you very much. Yeah, it's it's actually my full Arabic name. So how my basically my first name, well, my name, my dad's name, my dad's dad's name, and that's that dad's name goes all the way. See, I I thought only the Latinos did that. The Arabs do that too. I don't sure like anyone is able to doing that if they just you know, ask your errors Okay, Dad, who is I don't even know the previous stuff, Like our name was changed when my family moved from Europe, so I couldn't even answer what my real name is. That's why I'm pipe man, Phip Man. That's cool. That's a really cool nickname, was right.

53 Yeah, well my last name is Piper, so like everybody always thinks that because of smoking a pipe. Pipe man. Yeah, that is cool. Yeah, I'm definitely memorable. By having an Arabic basist, it does make a stand Abbe visually as well. It's a little bit different. Not many many Arabs of bloodstock, I'm not seeing many. I haven't seen many Arabs with dreads either. Okay, that is because I'm from North Africa, Sudan my parents are originally from. However, I was born in Pakistani and Karachi simply because my dad used to work with these Saudo Aba airlines. So it's like every couple of years we have to move from one country to another. So it's like a different you know, and the good thing about it that it opened my mind and different rises about different cultures. Yeah, spirits and different you know people, different religion. Different food is so good, you know, you know. I'm glad you brought that up because I travel over the world and I recommend every fricking American do that because I call it the big lie when I was growing up the rest of the world. Yeah, yeah, growing up. Oh, don't go anywhere else. It's scary out there. Blah blah blah. We're the only free country. Uh. If you do the research, we're like listed nineteenth in free countries in the world.

08 Were nineteenth, not one nineteen? You know that's no guns here, man. Oh yeah, I had this big thing yesterday because somebody posted about, Oh thank god they finally put meld detectors at my child's school. I'm like, fuck that. Like I get the security part, but I like growing up in a time where I didn't have to go to prison to go to school. Yeah, and that's why it would feel like, yeah, it's scary, Like what's happening over there in the US with the situation, man, it's it's it's ridiculous, okay, and it's I'm probably not gonna be a popular opinion, but I don't give a shit. Man. Like the whole thing of the right to bear arms, which I agree with, but the reason for it is in the beginning. If you need to overthrow the government, dude a redneck in the middle of wherever. It's not gonna overthrow the United States military in two thousand and twenty three, So that rule doesn't apply. No, I don't care how many guns you got. And like I said that, that rule was like from years and years ago, so in twenty twenty three, right, so it's you know, so I'm with you. Yeah, as Europeans, it just makes no sense to us.

30 Man, it's embarrassing. I come over here. I come over here, and it's embarrassing to hear what we're looked at because years ago we were respected. Like I would go to Amsterdam and they would totally respect me being from the States, and they would even want our money. And last time I went to Amsterdam, I ran out euros. I'm like, do you take us dollars? They're like no, no, man, that's that's monopoly money. Yeah. I was like fuck so. And the other thing is is like cultures, like you said, cultures, that's why I find out I'm a Jew. Okay, a lot of times you may think Arabs are this because you're a Jew and can and Americans sometimes confused terrorists with Arabs and such bullsh stereotype. Yeah, such bullshit. I was just over. I was just over in Indonesia for two months, and like the Muslims there, which again we have a like this idea of Muslims were like the nicest freaking people in the world, no judgment, no prejudice. They didn't give a craptot a Jew. And I was like, this is the way the whole world should be, for real, for real. I agree with you, because you know enough, I'm actually born and racist a Muslim as well.

53 So I mean the way that I look at it that Jews and muslim is still like basically cousins, right, We're related many and politics and bullshit of like being the ship we are allowed to swear on this absolutely okay, great, Yeah, Like honestly, I sound like a hippie now, But honestly, there's so much love that needs to be spread instead of hate, no doubt, honestly, you know it's so and we are so similar. For and I'll tell this to American Jews. You go over to Israel, you can't tell the difference of an Arab and Israeli by looking at them, you know, it's the same thing. And the Koran, which I've read, it's not the bullshit like terrorists make it out to be. It's a very peaceful book in my opinion. So I don't get why we let these politicians around the world fucking warper thinking and make us all angry at each other.

48 Yeah, it's beam mongering basically, no doubt, which is what's great about music. Yes, that's the one uniter. Okay, Yeah, that's right. There you go, and they're hugging each other. Now, we love each other, we are our music, We love our fans. Yeah, a lot love, a lot of love here today as well. Man, Like just the vibe with everyone's just saying how good the vibe is of blood Stock. You know, there's there's babies, there's people at the pension age, and they're all just getting along and loving each other and loving the music and having an awesome time. And there's no outcast because we're all outcast family. We've Yeah, it's a place to come. Yeah, this is what I really like about festivals because like this week and last week, I've been festival hopping, so going to different We've been to Green Gathering, which is an absolute hippie fest. This is awesome. So it's similar vibes as here, like families, little kids, you know, bringing all different generations, different backgrounds, all right. And then I went to Boomtown Wednesday and Thursdays.

45 It's a bit more of a commercialized drum and base and all that kind of stuff. But I don't see that much family stay because it's more of a youngsters thing. Right. Coming back here and now to blood Stock, I was like, Wow, this is what we're talking about. Everyone. Yeah, everyone, And how about the people out there they're not metal heads, are like, you bring your kid to a place like that, that's pretty scary. Yeah, Like, dude, it's scarier bringing them to the mall in the US where you're shooting. Okay, you don't need male detective here. Rely. Yeah, it's a whole peace and love even though we're metal heads. That's the big discrepancy of metal people are so surprised. I mean, the anything I'll say is a lot of male heads that don't come to these festivals are the kinds of ones who will sit in their basement, control on the internet and gatekeep online. You know, that's the only thing in some male heads a gilly, but it's a minorities and it's a vocal minority, like the rest of us are just fucking chill and cool. Yeah, and I'm glad you brought that up because I'm old school from the beginning, you know, And we were fucking gatekeepers out as stupid as shit.

46 I mean, it's just ridiculous. Don't like this band, don't like this. And then when Load not Load, but the Black album came out, Yeah, all me and my friends were like, fuck them. Poser played on the radio. That shit, it's the thrash. Yeah, yeah, exactly know this. Yeah, we were huge, It's like a fans of all of it. So, yeah, I went to their first show ever, ever, ever Jesus and it's fine Megan, that's playing here at Bloodstock. So at that first show, this dude comes off the stage afterwards talking me, hands me his business card. It says Metallica, power Metal. There was no thrash. You still got it? Have you still got the card? I fucking wish, dumbass, dumbassy, And I know it was fifteen years old, Like, yeah, what this man's never gonna go anyway.

37 I know what the fuck is this? And said Dave must stay and I I'm like, I would like to walk up to him and say, do you remember handing this to me? Yeah? That would have been a hell of a moment, the flashback like what years ago? Hello? Right, like you like wait before right? Yeah? Wild? So, so tell us about your music, So, yeah, we draw from a lot of different influences. Were a lot of hardcore in our music, a lot of eighties and nineties metal as well, so I kind of combining those elements with some Southern groove as well, some stoner I just stroy all together. So our newest records you can hear all of that coming in. So we've got I'm actually there as well in the new record. That's what my favorite, Yeah, because I'm a thrash metal hail man. Yeah, it's a fast there's a fast stuff in there. There's some some groove as well, with a lot of groove in our music, so a lot of pan terror influence, but we're keeping our hardcore as well. So it's kind of so hard to describe because we just draw from so many different places. That's a great description though, because I fucking hate genres, okay, because they lock you artists into this box and let's created. It's a bunch of metal bands now that all sound exactly the same because they're pluggings in this stupid formula of what their music should sound like. And I love what you said because I have all different types of music. I like, I'm a tall metal head, but I like all kinds of music, and I like when it's blended

09 and mixed like that, because then it makes you sound like Torchbearer. Period. That's what we do. And yeah, you know the top of that. To be you know, a respectful, a good musician, I would say, or even someone to appreciate music in general, you gotta be open to all different genres of time and styles of music, not just in the metal world, within for example, jazz, hip hop, rap, you know, folk pop. Yeah, so you as a musician, you're gonna be able to listen to all different genres because you never know where you're going to find that moment of inspiration. You've got to respect them all as well, you know, like you know, either you don't get it or if it's not your thing, you can still appreciate something and draw something from it.

52 Like I was just thinking about obviously the Beatles being like the songwriting. That's the blueprint, isn't it for songwriting, isn't it? So you kind of draw a lot from that, but then at your own, you know, vibes to it. They're the blueprint too for doing different genres, because like they covered pretty much every genre of the time. There's some heavy stuff on some of that air records, right, some of it sounds like Sabbath, right, and then you got you know, the cool hippie stuff, and then you got like even country type stuff in it, you know, so psychedelic stuff like I love It, I Love nine and all that. Yeah, totally, And that's what made them the epic band that they are. Whether you like them or not, you cannot argue what they accomplished that they will be remembered forever. I think that's what does it. If you just play one thing and your tunnel vision, I don't think you're gonna get there. That's the thing with us. We can't be pigeonholed. We tried, well are we? What's this song is about? What kind of style are we gonna follow here? So our multile at the moment is that if we like the riff, if it sounds good, and we can visualize that the crowd will be loving it and going absolutely crazy in the pit. Then follow that, follow your gout, follow your heart because it's good. Before we like it, then the fans will like it absolutely a million percent.

11 And at the same time, you know, it's becoming a bit more cohesive as well. You know, we're not It's not like you hear two songs that don't sound like the same band. You know, we've got a voice, we've got a style, and obviously our live show is very energetic. We've stripped down. We don't do like a crazy like prop or or light show or anything like that, with just guys putting a lot of energy into it. You know. Passion, Yeah, passion and energy. Yeah, you just plug in and play go crazy. I love it. I love it. And so how's a freaking feel to be playing on the Blood Stitch Yeah, new Blood stage. It's yeah. We're really excited to do it. Man, it's gonna be good. We've been flying all day, you know, trying to get people. It's like for a lot of people who told us that they're looking forward to it. So yeah, just hoping the good crowds. Like I said, I'm going to do my best to just whip the energy, you know, get them all all ping. I hear this is a good place to do a circle pit. So it is that.

07 And when we when we actually had the big great news that we've there's been announced on the night that we're going to play Bloodstock, I had I'm not gonna lie. I had a bit of like an Oscar moment. I'm like, oh my god, no way. I'm like, thank mom, Dad. You know, it's a fucking honor and we're really privileged to be here. Man oh man, Well we're glad to have you here. Let's tell everybody connect to you guys on socials, on the web, get your new music, check out your tour dates, and most importantly, merch you've got a cool shirt too, bo. So this is one of our emotion that we've had. But we got a new line of merchants actually is flying out really quick. We've so talking about drawing on different things. We've got our black T shirt, you know, classic, but we've also just done a tied eye T shirt. So sadly that's it's just a bit different.

54 You know, it's fun. You know, not everyone wants to be black all the time. Although you know it can't go wrong with that. But yes, so Torch Better UK on Instagram and Facebook, and our newest record is called Warrior, which just came out a few months ago, so that's on Spotify, streamed that. They've got a bunch of bunch of videos, a bunch of singles. Yeah, check you all out and yeah emerged Munch for sale on there too. Nice Any final words you want to share that we haven't covered yet that the listeners need to know about you guys, Just big shout out to the South Wales mel to the Masses organizers, Alan James and the rest of the team Simon for pointing us and given us the opportunity here a bloodstock with this amazing opportunity as well the boys from Monolith Charlie Wilson, well, you know, making two records with us and we'll have a really good relationship with these guys, so we're going to carry on again on the following record. Most importantly, the fans, Torch Bearer fans, big love. Without you guys, we won't be here, so keep it.

48 Yeah, I can only okay with that really, Yeah, the fans. It's all about the fans, So yeah, thank you. To everyone who's seen us before, brought us, streamed us, and yeah, hopefully more people listen to this and be interested to check us out and say, yeah, just just come and hang out. We're approachable guys, you know. We just want to connect, connect with people and share all our lyrics and no message with him. I love it. And man, I'm so excited for you guys to play here at Bloodstock and I'm hoping I don't have any interviews during that time so I can get into your circle pit. Now I saw a man.
