04 Hey, you have done to censure. I'm thumb you see Wow, pray young roll Why Become of America. It's time for the adventures of pipe Man on W four C why dot Com West Palm Beach is number one Internet radio station. Here's your host, the fight Man. Who I'm such a smith fus that's under spent, so to stop sailing. This is the pipe Man here on the Avengerance pipe Man W four C Y Radio And I'm here with Lane from Type Houston, miles from type Houston, cod from TYPEA Houston.

15 Nice here at Welcome to Rockville. Where was it I don't even remember because they swirl around the head web festival? Did we talk at? I want to say it was Louisville, louder than Yeah, that was it? Yeah exactly. So have you you haven't done Rockville before? Right? No? Yeah? This is our first time playing in Florida at all. Really yeah. No, it's hot as fuck here and like I was I was saying on stage last night, there was like we got woken up in the middle of night by like literally lightning strikes, I swear right outside the house next to the house. Wow, yeah, that's Florida. Like I live here now, and it's like, you can never predict the weather. I don't even look at the weather app. It's like and yesterday I looked out the window and I said to him, I'm like, oh, this doesn't look good. And then actually, you know, I get a text from Christine that runs media here. Yeah, gates are opening a little lake today because of weather. I'm like, yeah, it's Florida. That's Florida for you.

07 Yeah, one hundred percent. I know. I'm still waiting to see an alligator. That's our main thing we're trying to find before we leave. Alligator. Are you gonna wrestle the alligators? Yes? Do you know how to do it? Yes? Ah, look at that. Yeah, I know. I know. We've been blowing him up all day. He's actually he's lived in Florida for a while, so in Fort Myers, in a place called LaBelle and in a place called Bochelia. Okay, it was kind of a homecoming show for him, actually, you know what I mean, felt like a warm welcome at least. Yeah, look at that, right, They all came here from there to see you exactly. Yeah, you left us. That's strong of an impression. You know what I mean, I just want to race a golf cart around this fucking race track though. Oh so wait, okay, you know it's funny about that. I was in one of the golf carts yesterday around the racetrack, but last year, and I brought it with me this year too. I asked Christie, I'm like, if I take my skateboard out on the raceway, well I lose my media credential. And She's like, yeah, I wouldn't do that.

05 And then so yesterday before coming here, I was telling her, I'm like, yeah, I'll probably break my arm, but it will be worth it to say I skated the wall of the Daytona Speedway A thousand wicked right. I know how many people could say that, you know what I mean, Like, you'd probably be the first. Except then when I was Ryan on the golf cart. We want the people. We were talking about it. He goes, yeah, last year somebody tried to drive on this raceway like not where you're not supposed to, and they're permanently banned for life, oh for life from the venue completely. It's a good thing we didn't take the golf cart on the side of it. We were talking if we could get the golf cart vertical, right, you gotta do that now after your set though not before the set, cause like if you could get broken bones, it needs to be after the set. Yeah, I know. Exactly, such a unique venue to play show a show right, like so big, Okay, I got a trivia question for you. Yeah, you see how the seats are all colored? Do you know why that is? I it's something with the flags because then it's checkered over there at the line or something.

17 It's so is it? Because like if there's empty seats that they look full. Yep, there you go. So there's a little trick for you, you know, as you're you know, playing stadiums and stuff like that, have them do that for you. So no matter what, you always have a sold out show. Perfect good idea. Yeah, no, only open the floor for the stadium and just be like, guys, it's sold out. Yeah. So what are you doing after Rockville? How your top Rockville? Well, I mean, I guess Sonic Temple has to it has the task of you know, you haven't been there yet exactly. Yeah. No, we've played in we've played we played in Columbia before we got to play a Newport Music Hall, which is like that, you know, super famous legendary music video or music venue. We're like loading in. There's frat parties going on. People come in fucking with the car and shit. It's crazy nice yeah, but no, so we're looking forward to that. That'll be a good one too. Yeah, playing with some more friends and stuff like that, that'll be a good time. Yeah. Sonic Temple is another cool venue, okay, because it's this big stadium and it's badass, and as you know from last time, normally I wouldn't bring shit up like this, but it's because it's Sonic Temple that used to be Rock on the Range.

33 One of my most memorable Rock on the Range Sonic slash Sonic Temple, was we got evacuated. There was this really bad storm, crazy and you know how they have to sound limits at like eleven o'clock. So there was this headliner that was supposed to play, and people on all Facebook and all the message boards were all, if they don't play, we're gonna riot, Like no ship. They were saying that. So Danny Wimmer like arrange things with the town and the mayor to extend and get rid of the sound orients and they're this little band that was the headliner played till like two in the morning, and you know who I'm talking about, don't you, right right, So you'll have to, you know, ask somebody about their experience at Rock on the Range. Yeah, yeah, no, No, we've never played anything late like that in there. I've been to that festival, not to play it. It's really nice, it's cool. Check it out.

41 It is a cool venue. And I mean, listen, you're gonna feel like you're like selling out things there because you're gonna be in this like huge freaking sand. You don't need to paint the seats because Danny Wimmer will fill it. Speaking of which your set, Okay, Like, does it blow your mind when you play early in a festival and there's so many people out there? I think that's only a Danny Wimmer thing. Definitely, No, that's definitely a Danny Wimmer thing. And also, you know, especially like how much you know sort of like you're you know, kind of going into it not really knowing what the deal is going to be, and it's always like such a pleasant surprise, you know what I mean? I agree that's his festivals are always very inviting and all the people are always really fun and it's great crowds. So yeah, no, I mean everybody down from you know, everyone you're working with getting in, you know, going on building the set in the stage and everything like that, and then the crowd themselves.

38 The whole thing is like seriously, seriously welcoming, you know what I mean. Cool. Everyone was very excited. They seem like happy to be there and just like ready to have fun. And how does that feel when it's like that early in the day and people are like that, Like usually it's like, ah, I'll go later for the headliners. It feels awesome. I'm really really grateful and appreciative. Everyone was having a ton of fun of a like warm, but it was it was fun. Everyone looked like they were having a good time. And it takes some dedication to get out there and stand in the sun, and yeah, it was awesome exactly. Yeah, So how did this happen? The extra guy? Now, now's how'd the extra dude come into that way? Yeah? Something something about rubbing two coins together to get the third or something. Yeah, two friends, Yeah, yeah exactly. No, So I mean, you know that was kind of the thing. I mean when we were talking to you, we used to be a two piece doing kind of a crazy duo white stripes thing, and then you know, I think for us, we kind of just felt like there was a lot that we could offer and explore by bringing a third person into it, you know, And so far it's been, you know, a ton of fun. It's been. I mean, I don't know, but it's never like supposed to be a duo. We wrote all of it to be like a crazier band, but we just didn't have anybody we were close enough with to bring it in. Yeah. So we've been like best friends for a while, so we were just like, fuck it, let's get it going. And now it's the whole new thing and it's even more fun. So we've multiplied. You said the key word, though, you know, cause you can't just bring somebody into a band, Okay, you have to be cool with them, Like this is like you're gonna be living with them pretty much twenty four to seven. You know, if

09 you don't want to kill each other, you have to love each other. Yeah, you know. So I think sometimes it's it's more important that than the talent one thousand percent, because I think, to me, the talent is wanting to do something like do you know what I mean? Like I don't know, you know, like I never sang before this band or played guitar, you know. I last time we talked to you, I was playing bass still, you know, as the duo. And you know, for me, like it's just about you know, like for you know, seeing Kai like he's you know, wants to do it. It's obvious to me, you know what I mean, which I think is the most exciting and essential thing personally, you know, just growing together and being into it and being friends and hanging out. I think we've just been having a shitload of fun. See, that's what it should be. That's what music's all about. Forget all the other bullshit, like if you're not having fun in this industry, especially nowadays, wrong industry. Yeah, definitely, no, ten thousand percent. No, it's been super fun. We've been friends for a couple of years now, and we just have gotten really close. And I think about it, like we've kind of been flirting with the idea for a while and I think we've never been closer. It's like brought us closer as friends, and we're just having so much fun. And I think like, if we had done this any earlier, it definitely would have been like the time was right. You know, that's always key, right, it's you know, it's intimate, and we all have our like ways of doing things and whatnot. We kind of all know each other's ways of living life and whatnot and respect that, and it's just it's really fun. We have a lot of fun. Hell yah, So that's key, like having fun.

41 But I love what you said that, like, you feel like you're closer now because a lot of the times bands that does the opposite. Ye. So that means it's some good synergy, which which is what makes the best music in my opinion. Okay, you can tell when you're a listener down there looking up. You can tell if these people don't like each other, don't want to be there, or if they're just like fucking family having a good time. I have been blast exactly. No. And that's the thing is that, you know, me and Miles as brothers, we always get to like, oh, is it like the Gallaghers, is it you know, crazy brother relationship or something? And then I was like, well, let's keep you know, pushing it, let's bring more people into it. And you know not have it just be you know, it can be more than that, you know what I mean, which I think it's fun And I think I asked you last time because I think of the exact opposite of I would never be in band with any of my brothers, okay in a million fucking years. I don't even like bringing them to festivals. Like it's like, oh, I'm sorry I brought them here. Yeah. Nice.

43 So that's kudos to you guys as brothers. Number one. It's kudos to your parents too for raising your right that you know you can gel like that and be like best friends. I think it's important because at the end of the day, But the hell the else do you have exactly? You know, it's a lot of fun doing it. What else do you want to tell the listeners about that we haven't covered yet that you may be want to announce or have coming out or go yeah, no, one hundred percent. Yeah. So we just put out last year, we put out our debut project, Once Bit Never Bored, which we've been you know, touring around, We've played I played with a couple different crazy people. You don't got to play with some of our dream artists like food Fighters, and mus and stuff in the last you know since we saw you, which has been crazy, you know, and we're announced coming soon for the fall, which is going to be crazy and fucking mental. Yeah, we're gonna be definitely going, you know, back out to the Midwest where we haven't been in a while, back out Pacific Northwest Texas, you know, like name drop it just yet, but it's like the next week. Yeah, we're super super stoked about it, and new music following as well. Obviously. You know, if you do one thing, you gotta do the next thing.

46 You know, six months will be crazy. So now what you gotta do is you got to tell everybody your socials, your web and all that stuff so that they can look for these announcements. A thousand percent. Yeah, No, it's TYPEY Houston, Taypey, like you know, the city in Houston. Also like the city. That's the whole thing. If anyone was wondering, that's it. That's the Yeah, that's that's where we got it from. And yeah, exactly, Yeah, it's TYPEI Houston. Anywhere you can do anything, We're there. We'll be there, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, you know you're bad at night, will be there, man, under under your bed or your closet somewhere I don't know. And if you were to give the listeners, I have never heard you one reason why they should love your music. What would it be? Oh? Man, See, that's the hard one. One reason. I can only think of like a thousand. So I think, you know, we draw you know, lots of our favorite bands, Jack White, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters. We draw from that. I feel like we bring kind of a craziness and some wild stuff to it. That I feel like is, you know, just come fucking party with us. It's going to be sick there. It is. Just just come have fun. Exactly fun. That's the key fun for all of us. And it definitely it's been fun here at Welcome to Rockville because you guys are here. Yeah, thank you for having us. Oh my pleasure always and thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man. Yeah dude, can't wait to be back. Thank you.

07 Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipemin on w for CUI Radio.
