SUBLIME WITH ROMEReleases New Single “Cool and Collected” With Slightly Stoopid
Featured on Wonderland Magazine
The band says, "This song came to life when I bumped into Miles backstage at the Cali Roots Festival. We were both thrilled about our upcoming summer tour and he suggested that we collaborate on a song to perform live every night. I thought it was a brilliant idea because the very next day I was heading to Texas for three weeks to start recording our fourth album. Talk about perfect timing!"
"The song we created focuses on maintaining a cool and collected attitude amidst the pressures life throws at you. It has a laid-back vibe and radiates positive energy, which is something I believe the world needs more of. It's the perfect sound for our upcoming tour, and teaming up with Slightly Stoopid for this release has taken it to a whole new level!"

0:04 Hey you leveland to such sure, I'm for see why you'll wake up America. It's time for the Adventures. So Pipe Man on W four cy DO com West pom Beats is number one Internet radio station. Here's your host, The White Man is edition a lot Dubus clift for some Herba Bedici sho and don't you know we want the same things out there, love the pall and don't you know what that we're high enough to see that we're cooling. It's up with you on the beling. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventure The Pipe Man w for c Y Radio and I'm here with our next guest, who is probably one of the coolest people in music, I think, and we definitely there's a little pun there that we're going to talk about.
1:11 So let's welcome to a show Rome from Sublime with Rome. How are you. I'm doing good, Jean. Thank you for having on the show. But thank you for the nice compliment. I appreciate it. Oh my pleasure. Okay, cool out here a million degrees this summer. I know right you're in Jersey right now, which is my home state, and I know August is like the one of the worst times to be in summer in Jersey. So well, luckily, luckily, if we got it on a good game, it's great. There you go. I love it. So, yeah, you guys have this new single, cool and Collected. They did with slightly Stupid and uh, man, that is a bad song in my opinion. Why don't you tell us a story about how this song came about? Well, thank you very much. You know it some things in the industry, you know, it takes a lot of like that thing, and a lot of planning and a lot of them, you know, hundreds of emails. But this thing came together as relatives was very naturally to me.
2:21 Walking backstage, I ran into uh Miles, the singer from the site for a for sighting Mood, and uh, you know, I haven't seen him a while. We were we were catching up and we knew we were going to be summer tour together in the week for the following month, so I would say, and he had great ideas. He was like, so we should get together and write a song, something that we can play together every night. And I thought that that was an ass genius because you know, like, you know, how a song together. And the next day I was flying out studio to record the arm with room Blong working perfect time and perfect pests. And so I went to the studio the next day.
3:12 I took together an idea and I sent it over to the guys. Was hoping for a little feedback and you know that's going to go him. And they loved the idea and they took it and did what they did too. It sent it back to me. I put the bells and whistles on it with the band and broom we had a record. It's really crazy how it works like that, because I used to being moving that back, and it moved real back. Sometimes just when it's meant to be, it's meant to be, and it sounds to me like it was so organic. That made writing the song, recording all that just an easy, stress free process.
3:53 And you know, that's where like a lot of people are like always asking, you know, oh, you know, he's the fast, you know, how do you how do you you know achieve that? You know, I'm sorry. You just got to be grateful to show it up and did your best, and then eventually the world, the world, you know, the world works yourself out and you show up and do your best enus one of those things will we'll go you know, and uh, and this song has been really great for us because you know, it's spreading is really fast and in the deception of just through the roof all across the board, and you know, and it's great because it pulls two communities together. And I think about it, it's always a good thing when when book fans can come together and be like, man, this is great. Yeah, I dig that I and I always dig when I go to shows and bands are on tour together and they literally will perform together like what you did. And you know, it just shows the camaraderie of the music and of the end of what it's like that we could you night everybody in the world with music and at a time where we are living right now, it can be a better time for this song and the message from this song. For sure, I appreciate it that that's definitely them whenever we're writing, you know, oh, does the world need this song? You know? I mean, and maybe
5:23 not on such a grand ship and grands a ship, but it's it's a it's a nice barometer for you is create it to you know, just putting out it, by just making this fall just to make a fall, or you know, there's something special I can reach for. You know, he doesn't always have to have a message or anything, but a feeling, you know, an emotion used to reach for something very special with him, like you can locate something awesome. I think, oh yeah, one hundred percent. And it is like, as somebody that's been a long time fan that it's not just a song. It's not like you just you know, put out a song. I think this is probably one of the best in your catalog. To be honest, well, thank you very much that that doesn't mean not definitely. And where you hear the new music got coming, We've got a lot of good stuff coming. It was up in a news colling next month and then after a couple of months, I hopefully using new pas, but a lot of new stuff. See I dig that. And if this is indicative of what the rest of the album's gonna be like, yes, it's gonna be definitely badass, so awesome. You're now on tour, of course, and uh so, tell us a little bit about this summer tour. It's been going real smooth and so so much to the point where it's almost you know, we're already we're in the end of it, which is crazy because it feels to all of us if it just started. But
6:55 we have another another twelve days last of the tour. Well, while while we're on the buses, were having on three black of the tour that once the buses go away, that's where it starts. To you know, def whitely doesn't feel like Summer Champion once you guys go on the airplanes. But it's, uh, you know, it's we're we're we're important to end on the tour. And it's been a really smooth, amazing, hot and sticky summer that Yeah, I always like, I always wonder sometimes like bands that perform when they're performing like in this summer heat like this, and it's been the hottest summer on record. I'm like, my hat's off to you, because how you do that and get up on stage and put everything you have into the show when you know the people walking around in this hot weather like they don't even want to walk anywhere, and you guys are just like putting on this huge show and kudos to you, but you kind of get into a zone when you get on stage, right like you don't even notice until after the fact how it was. Yeah, that's exactly is you know, I don't want to know, you know, reality and parents teams. You know, we day but you know, like our our crew is out there and he all dams in standing up the stage, you know, getting to the going and the dams are out there standing in the sun, you know, just sitting there listening to the music, trying to hibrate. So you
8:26 know, it's it. Uh, we definitely have the better side of the sense and we know that as far as the comfort and you know, the heat back goes. But we're very grateful, you know, we got to go out there and put our boats off are now and hunt. But you know that's that's to be able to provide a great show for the fans and be able to provide you know, to good work for our crew and everything and that that's uh, that's what it takes. Let's do nice. So what would you say is your favorite or craziest story from this tour? Probably like one of the shows we played next door with a bowling alley for right after that was just pretty much closed up shop at the show and then went to the bowling alley stayed there until they kicked this out. Have probably one too many beers, but it was awesome. That was a nice little uh nice little nightcapper of nice. I love it, so I gotta tell you too interestingly enough. You know, we went through this crap a few years ago at Lockdown Stuff. And my first live show after Lockdown was you guys at this in Our studios are down here in South Florida near West Palm Beach, and you guys played at this amp Amphitheater and Jupiter, which is right near why I lived, callan abacoa Amphitheater, and man, I couldn't believe
10:00 it was the first show out. I didn't know what to expect, you know, like it was still kind of weird times and then you guys just killed it. But that place was packed packed, and uh you you brought us all back to life. Oh man, thank you. You know, it's always nice to be able to be, you know, from the forefront of people's first concerts getting back into stuff. I remember we were. We were one of the first fans who really hit it super hard after the pandemic. We did something like sixty two shows in the summer with the Dirty Heads and and uh yeah, you know, we're we'relentle for that. Our crew and our our management. They kept working the entire time and kept thinking of ways to be able to, you know, keep jobs for our crew.
10:48 We didn't lay anybody off. We paid all of our guys out of the crew and it's just weathers a storm and kind of let the need to take up where it needed to go. And now see and I love that too. That just shows what you guys are all about, besides having great music, just taking care of all your crew and everybody, because people didn't realize, you know, how many people really got affected by that. So I'm always in awe of bands like you guys that like put the crew first, knowing that you know, everybody's a very important part of the team. We hungred percent. Well, it's the most important take the village, that's for sure. So is there anything you want to let the listeners know that we haven't covered or ray about anything that's coming up or anything. You know that they just need to know about what we have after summer here? Uh, well, after summer, you know, we're dropping a bunch of new music every couple of months, dropping the single and U is it's getting ready to drop an album next year really, so you know, there's gaudy for that and careful for anybody who comes out and just chap with us and it has a good time, and you know, luckily hopefully get to meet him after five of uses and chats a little bit. It's always a pleasure getting to meet the people. And he helped us keep this circuits on the road.
12:13 So yeah, hop off to them and much love. Well, thanks for giving us such great music all the time, because it is therapy, I think for all of us, for you as an artist and for us as the listener. And man, this new song, everybody's got to check it out, cool and collected, it's it's it's a really really really good song and people have to check it out and all the new music that's coming out and stuff. So everybody look for Sublime on the socials, look for and on the website and check out all the new music coming out. And man, I thank you for giving us this great music and great live shows. And thanks for being on the Adventures of Pipe Man. Man you got it.
12:56 Thank you both appreciate the most to help with them my control, what's going on, guys. Brom from Survival pro Game. You are listening to one of those partments w fors Ui Radio, good that collected. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Partment. I'm w for Cui Radio.
