04 Hey, you live on two sus Sure, I'm coming from you for see why for you wake up of America. It's time for the Adventures on Pipe Man on W four CWY dot com West pom Beats, his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. Let's who's the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c why Radio. And I'm here with hi. I'm Laurie from Street Soldier. I'm Scott Hall from Street Soldier. Nice. You know it's fun. You'r hat it almost if you look from the side, it looks like it says Florida. No, it's definitely murder. Yeah, well that's the same if it were murdered at Burley, be the same thing in my state. So here we are, bloodstock, fucking badass. Tell us a little bit about your music, not from a genre standpoint, because I hate that label. Shit, how you guys as an artist would describe your music? So the Street Soldier to me,

37 it's about big lads, big fights, big mosh pits, mussy thrashy riffs, huge subdrops under me on the drums. I don't know about you, Scott, but I'm sure you've got a lot to say about this musicals, I mean, I will style my we we're UK hardcore based bund. We incorporate as many different styles as were coming. We try to keep it as diverse as possible. So you're gonna hear a piece of the Thrush, You're gonna hear bits of hip hop, a little bit of grind maybe and new metal and everything. Man, we just put it into a part makes it together. And then I love that. You know why I love that because I come from the old school where you couldn't do that shit, and it pissed me in a fuck off. Like I was a punk and on a metal head, bad long hair, so I couldn't got punk shows. Yeah see, And that was bullshit and it was stupid too, because all the jocks in high school, we're kicking both our asses and we're kicking each other's ass. We should kick their ass. But then you've got like, you know, you've got the Chrome Mugs who kind of incorporated the cross all the you know, the metal and the punk kind of united the two together, which is cool. Man. I love I love it when I love it when people do that. Man, when you're crossing music together, that's what I'm saying, and curates this unique sound at last. Don't like it.

49 Some people don't like it. Bro we were like that and it was it was like used to. But I think the world has it's become more diverse now, so that is good. Yeah, it's more acceptable. And it's because of bands like the Chromags and bands like Suicidal because originally you wouldn't like going a Suicidal pit because the Suwees would slam with switch blades because it was originally a benss gang, you know, and now fucking they're They're one of the reasons I can go to a Discharge show and an Exploited show and a GBA show and h fucking troopers effort, they frush, put across enother, like you know, it's all just blending together. Could you imagine if that's so d put that album out today, it would not happen. Have you seen a live footage of it where he's he's dressed as Serganty and he's like he's from and it sings like about twenty old Stone and he from foots off the stage. He's crazy, but like, oh it's so good. Yeah, not only did I see it, but I saw it saw it really?

52 Yeah, yeah, I mean I was at the first Metallica show ever, first Slayer show ever. Really, Jesus Christ, I'll look at that. Look at that. Headfield has made his mark. And my son's middle name is laws as how much you were there? You were there at the beginning. Well, you know, Laws, he was right about all this music shit because we all thought he was dickheads. And now all you hers are getting fuck because you didn't listen to him. I mean, who the hell wanted napster anyway? Who would have thought the internet streaming was going to be anything? Oh wait, oh yeah, it totally was. No. No, yeah, so Metallica on your he's got well he showed me he's got Metallica tattoo on man, Like, that's hardcore. I gotta say it's hardcore. Well, they have a dear place in my heart, as do the Big four, Metallica, Slayer and Thraks. Of course, my spirit animal, missus Dave misstaying from Megadeth, who I'm very excited to see this weekend at Bloodstock. Yeah, I mean, Scotty's definitely more underground hardcore, but for me, it's thrash, it's th it's yeah, I'm I'm a dull thrash metal head. Yeah, but I almost did get a tattoo while I was a teenager. Two of them on my two wrists, one that said New York Hardcore and one LA Hardcore It and Funniest shit band. I was interviewing before he had the New York Hardcore tattoo on, because I saw he was wearing a hat it' said New York hard course. I told him the story and he pulled up his sleeve. He's like, there it is.

26 I've got him. Actually, I've got a New York tattoo as well. I actually have the autograph of a Judge Judy on my arm. And this is a real shit. This is a sign picture I have of a Judge Judy. It says Lorie, my best just my best son. We will name tattoo and me, but yeah, that is a just Judy from New York itself. So if I is an underground New York hardcore, I don't know what is. Anyways, say something serious. I've got a question for you. Yes, LA Hardcore on New York hard Care. I know that's a horrible question. I was involved in both scenes New York all the way. Yeah, yeah, New York all the way, and it just comes with the territory. New York's more hardcore in LA anyway. Yeah, it's definitely small. And I don't know roof on the edges. I guess you would say, would you say from what roof arom the edges? I would say, yeah, more more like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah definitely mom And uh, he's gonna fucking kill me. But I'm drawing a blank right now from doing like but I'm friends with say his name the original singer of Chromax, John Joseph John James, starts with p I can't original the originals see five. I'm gonna have to go into my contact list of fuck. I can't believe this, but uh yeah, so coolest dude ever. Yeah, I see fuck she's oh I do That's why it

00 was I head in my fucking head, I'm like, no, that's how I sat Paris Really how about that? How about that? So? Yeah, and now you're gonna really kill me. He's really gonna kill me. I said that, You're really gonna kill me. I'm gonna kill you. Yeah. You know why why? I have a mistain story. You have a mistained story. Yes, shit, Okay, let me get my pipe and slippers. Let's have this. Let's have it right now. So that first show, yeah, there were like twenty five of us. I was fifteen years old, and this dude gets off the stage and walks up to me and starts talking to me, and he hands me his business card and it says Metallica, Power Metal, Dave Mustaine. Oh mate, he's kill him all air asta fuck me. So you started playing all of his songs with Metallica, oh business card? Yeah, these are literal pioneers at least.

07 Do you know why? Okay, Metallica's gonna hate me for this, But do you know why Mechanics became the Four Horseman? I think I've seen this story. You're about to say it, you go. It's basically because they couldn't everybody else couldn't play it was too fast. Yep, it became Sweet Home Alabama didn't do dude to the Megadeath version of the Four Horsemen. Mechanics is like three times as fast that was the original, but none of them could get up with Day, so they had to slow it down. I think that's probably why he's had to start Megadeth, because they couldn't keep up with him. I don't know I'm to please, don't get me. I don't know who to piss off more Megadeth on Metallica. Either way, I have massive daddy issues of both of them. So please come and see Street Soldier. We'll send you Butch and Dave if you hear this weekend.

54 I'm here with my ginger brother. I think I think you should go on and play dry for Megadeth, Like, don't even ask, Like, just go up there when they're about to go on. I will do it. I will do it. It's better to ask forgiveness than ask permission, exactly, Scott. I will go up there and play pace cells and the Yeah. I'll just hold the high hot if I need to, but Yeah, and then Laws as well. If I saw Laws in public, I'd come from him. You know. I think both of these these bonds could do with new drummers. And I'm looking for a new bonds after this interview, Scott, So maybe maybe I could be in one of the two of the Big Four. Anybody want to play Dumps and street Shoulder. You know it's complex stuff, no, and you know it's funny talking about the Big Four.

39 Going back to what I was saying about. You know, when you mix stuff up, you have your unique sound. All the Big Four do not sound anything alike, and nowadays is true. Yeah, yeah, yeah, nowadays you have a genre. It's like they plug in its algebraic equation formula bullshit, Like it's like what band is this? Yeah, because it could be like twenty different man's yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, who's your favorite? The Big Four? Slayer? Oh no, you said it wrong. You said it fucking wrong. It's fucking ser well. Actually, a new EP just came out, Original banding Material. Track two is called Can't Break This. I get to say add Slay on the actual recording.

24 So we're gonna say, well, actually say the word Slayer in a song. So yeah, I'm Beastie boys too. Yeah, so can you give us since he gave us part of his singing, can you give us some beastie boys? Try it away? You wake up with it for school, man, you don't want to go sow shit, I'll cut you out of my band if you don't cut that beard. You wake up for school Monday, don't want to go sound in my accent. She just threw away your best board mugs, he's boosted. No sleep till blood stock. There it is there, it is. Yeah, this is probably gonna be great for this show. It's want to get all the on, Holly, you want to come to a few words. We're just talking about. This is the pipe man all he's gonna come. This is our guitarist, Oliver. He's definitely he's better than the Stain right, Oh, I want don't know?

20 Are you better than Dave Mustain? About four or five times better? I'd reckon he's definitely heavier than miss Stain about four times Have you than Mustain as well? I how about Kirk? Yeah? Good, good player, not as good as not as good as Dave No in my opinion, so in my opinion too. And so it's funny too because while I was watching that Metal show one time, they had Kirk rate all the metallic albums and he rated kill them all last I'm like, yeah, because you didn't fucking play it sounds like a pretty silly thing to do today, right, I know, that's stupid. Interesting fucks about your quarry from that. We have a provincial town outside of your Orshire, outside of York, and it's called kirk Hamilton. And we would like to start a petition right here on the Pipeman Radio to get Kirk Hammerton to come to kirk Hamilton in York. So if you're listening, Kirk, please come to kirk Hamilton. It's a really nice little place and it's right down the road from Wilson. We'd come and have Team Biscuits with you. It'd be fantastic to see you. I have a better idea too do that, but then have a concert a double billing Metallican Exodus and then and Kirk has to play in Exodus because that was it's a he formed Exodus. Yeah, yeah. And then also we could get Kerry King to play for Megadeth there like four or five shows. So so Kirk and listening, you need to get the Big Four down to kirk Hamilton, just off the A sixty four near York. Yeah, for the greatest heavy metal concert reunion of all time with into into band playing different leads, and we will crown the best lead guitarist of the Big Four right there in Yorkshire.

52 Name me day Street Soldier there. We'll open up for you, We'll bring up all we'll do it. Just come, yeah, Kirk, who would you say, is your favorite guitarists of the Big four? Oh, that's a difficult one and careful because one of them is one of my best friends. My favorite or the best, that's a that's a question. If I'm saying the best, let's do both. So Markey Freeman's playing with Megadeth, I've seen again like he's played a grasspop was it with them? If he's back in with them? Definitely my But my favorite out of the Big four is actually Scott Ian. Okay, it's my favorite guitar player. So you're raided for this. One of my best friends is Dan Spits, so I have to vote for him or else he's getting kick my ass. But it's a lot shorter than me, so maybe not. I don't know anyone that famous. Maybe Scotty. Well you got Mike from Killswitch right behind you.

52 Oh well, we'll come up. He was who I had to pause you for. He was your are and he was the warm up atter review for you guys. I was gonna say, nice of kill Switch engaged, come and see us in it, like come all this way. So I told him he needs to, Like I said to him, I don't know if you heard, but I told him like, when you guys are supposed to be on stage, that he needs to go without asking and just go play and get up there and plays. I'll be all right with right. Could you imagine? Or if Jesse comes up and just grabs the mic and says, I'm singing this ship, what would you say? I don't even think Scotty could fight him off, to be honest, Right, So what do you have to say about the band? Because you were over there and uh, I mean it's any specific question about the band. I just whatever the fuck you want to tell me. Street Soldier is the quite possibly the most eclipsic range of music for a band of they spatial. Well, I think, well, you know, I'm sure the guys already said. We've just released a new EP that's called Original Murder Material. Seems like it's going down pretty well with a new new metal influence, so that we're putting in there. Well, really, it's just a right laugh playing in this band and all of it. I love it. You know what I find funny too. It's like you're not And there's been a few bands today I've interviewed they talk about new metal influence, and yet the new metal bands hated being

26 called new metal, like fucking corn hated it one hundred percent, they said it. I was doing a press thing at health Fats last year and they were talking about you know, from the very beginning, they hated that thing and then grew on them afterwards because everybody liked it. Well. As a child of the early naughties, I fucking loved new metal. I had the buggy pants I had, I had my little chain, had my little snap black. I was going around listening to chocolate starfish and the hot dog flavored water, thinking I was the ship. I had a slip not hoodie. I had the little wait the bracelets. Wait. So yeah, oh here we go. Yeah, look at you've never seen there. For the listeners at home, the Pipemine is holding up a fantastic slip and on hoodie with orange featuring all nine members of the original Slip Knot. You can see him right here. It's absolutely fantastic. But yeah we're we We've got a bear, new meal and the new stuff on the original bearing material, but it's still beat down hardcore. It's all from Yorkshire. It features myself, Oli, Cam and Scotty and we're gonna be playing some of that tonight. But yeah, I'd have loved to have been called new metal back in the day.

34 I mean, why are they all the great musicians in England have the name Ali Ali. I think it's just a good, wholesome name. I think it's originally like you know, it's it's a good tree to be a part of. You know, great oil, great pits, and Olie has great pits from great Oil in them. So here's definitely a big fan of Olives, Oliver and Company, Fantastic Disney move the Oliver Twists and any more famous Oliver's but Oliver. I was thinking of Sikes, Oliver's Sikes only you'll bring me the Horizon. Let me tell you about bringing the horizon. Tell me. So there used to be a death core band, yeah, and I was super into and when I was younger, and then they went with the pop music and I'm not I'm not too big into it. But they're still from Yorkshire, so we got to back him. I got good news for you though, they're going back to death core. Get out of it.

29 Yeah, I saw a ship about like they went through this stage and now they're gonna go back to their roots. Brilliant. We'll look out for that. So maybe they were smart. They gathered all these new listeners and now let's play our real music for you. I mean that that first album, I think, what's it? Coarny Blessings, what an Absolutely? And that first three albums really really good. But I don't know, man, I didn't really like this sort of new stuff when with the pop music. But that's just like we said, though, they're from Yorkshire, so we're back him. Some of it can be a little weird too, like on what which album is that? That? That that weird album? There's some the one with Mantra on it. Yeah, there's a there's some songs on there. I'm like, this belongs on like an easy listening record. You know why. I think that happened though, there was a point right before that that Ali was told if he kept screaming the way he did, he would lose his vocal chords. It happens to quite a lot of vocalists if they don't if that technique isn't right right, then they can blow it out and that is done. Oh hey, that's me. I sang thrash metal and now sometimes I'll sing on show and I can't even get through the whole song because I'm shuttles from e then some fold, I think that happens to him, right, Yeah, you have to stop screaming so a lot that he ustuff was most singing pots think exactly, And it happens to Matt from

59 Trip Him as well, because it's rough. If you don't do it right, you're just trashing your throat. Like I've been doing interviews talking all day. So I tried to do it a little before and I didn't even get three words out and my voice was gone. Yeah, it's incredibly easy. How how much you can throw your voice out really really quickly, especially if you're doing it for a long period of time. I'm always in amazement like bands like Slay or what have you that they can go for two hours singing like that man, because I couldn't do it well. I'm one of those freaks who plays drums and sings at the same time. And the only thing that gets me for a gig vocally is snickers bars and water, and that is that is my top tip before going June four hours and hours and hours and hours and then yeah, if you're a Slay fund, you just got loads of practice doing it. But if you're a professional like Scott and all the other fantastic buns playing here, I'm sure they've got some top tips for you. But that that's my top ticks, Milky Snickers bars with all the delicious going nonsense that comes to them, and lots of lots of water and maybe some beer. I gotta tell you something. In June at download, I interviewed Blowthar, and I don't think our listeners are gonna know the difference of you and Blowthar, blow Far. What do you think, GOLLI is that? Who are they? What? So your voice, your voice talking right now sounds like you're Blowthar talking well, I swear he is from another planet, this one, so I think he is. After this whole airview, I'm thinking, yeah, definitely. But and that's too why I love

34 asking you guys to say your brand name and said of me saying because you said it way cooler than I would have. Just say it one more time, yes, do it? Which which character of me would you like? Was like the drill sergeant from the moon or would you like insductory radio voice with street soldier. Anyway, I'll do the other one. My name is a drill Sergeant. I'm the drummer and vocalist and ringing out. So from Street Soldier, we are from York and this is the pipe man's put by. Yes, you can say street Soldier. You can say Street Soldier, you can say Street Soldier. I can say Street Soldiery. Yeah, Street Soldier, that's the name of the band. Okay, So I could do the radio voice. Yeah, go on, and here they are Street Soldier.

22 I love that. That's perfect. Yeah, that's some death core right there. That sounds like a toilet that needs some attention. And then I could drain, and then I could do Street Soldier. I can do Street Soldier. And if he's Scottish accident, if you like, oh, I'm gonna see Street Soldier later night. And now we're just gonna get attacked by the various communities in Great Britain. So we'll leave it to that Street Soldier and then we could say it like people in Florida say, it's told you, Oh my god, you're gonna see Street Soldier later that's la. Yeah, that's la. Oh my god, it's Street Soldier. You gotta check them out, okay, because they're really cool. We're playing a new parting whale soon and they just can't wait to see Street Soldier and then the New York will come out of me and I'll be like, let's say, you're fucking straight soldier. That's busted, But you don't insult me like that.

30 I didn't say over there. I didn't say the pocket car. Somebody gave me a quarter so I can buy some water for my door. This thorg for street Soldiers. See that's more New York, the walk and the car. No, now you're fucking me up New York. Is we say car bust and they say car? What's the ah? What is? Though? We're definitely not gonna get a visa after this interview? Hello? And then how about Canada? There, what's going on? There were Streets Soldier from Canada? Right, That was John and Peterson. That's perfect. So how we reach out and connect to you guys on soul shows and uh, you know, see your tours and steal your girlfriends and all that. Well, if you want to see all our girlfriends, I mean that's the tricky one because they are hard as fuck and you know they'll put up a fight.

30 But if you want as follow street Soldier. You can find us art Street Soldier hate C, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, threads, Biebo, MySpace, fuck knows, you know, just just typing Street Soldiers. We've got YouTube, we've got all sorts of stuff. We've got a talk coming up with them, negative frame and no relief on Avocado booking. So we're really looking forward to that where we're playing Scott, We're playing, we're playing fuck me, let me try So, we're playing Norwedge, Leicester, Liverpool, Glasgow, New part Soul, thumpson and Lee Sorry Lee. I then they hear West Palm Beach in there, West Palm Beach, Florida, we're gonna be there, We're gonna be on Soby, We're gonna be in South Beach, Miami. We're not going to any of these places, but we'd love to play all of it. We'd love to play in America. But yeah, we've got a UK talk coming up. Type in at Street Soldier Hardcore on the interwebs and you will find our lovely band and yeah, drop us a message. Street Soldier HC. You'll find us. Yeah. Well, you guys fucking rock, Thank you, sir, you're fucking rock. I don't know if we could cover anything else, but if we could, what would be your final words for our listeners? Well, they've given me a live mike on TV. I would say, be true to yourself, don't worry about the other fucking people. I'm silent. America's fuck here. But honestly, just be a madman, be a mad bustard, do whatever the fuck you feel like. Ass doesn't hurt anybody. And you represent your boys and you brand and everybody that you hold dear and true to you street soldiers about strength, loyalty, discipline, and respect, making good music. And we are thankful to every single one of these people that are gonna see us in the fucking pit tonight. So that's gonna be my final words. Yeah,

03 I was very impressed by that. Actually, the way you spoke like a New Yorker, it impressed me. I've just watched a lot of wrestling, but you should have finished the whole thing off with just do it. Because of the hat you're wearing, just do it. My final words, if you get a brit A lot, don't get caught. That's what I gotta say it. Shit, why didn't you tell me that it's too late? Just come see us at seven thirty on the new Blood stage this evening. If you can, I bet you actually this is probably out completely. After the festival we went and played on the new Blood stage at seven thirty and it was great. What if they have a time what if they have a time machine, they can come back and see your show. Well, we're gonna We're gonna smash it. But yeah, thanks a lot one.
