04 Hey, you listen to Sure I'm for se Wow, Wake up America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on W four CWY dot com. West Pond Beats is number one Internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. You call the rolling any fire, burning any fleece?
48 I don't know how this is. Is the pipe Man here on the Adventure's Pipe Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here with Carlos Cruise from the band's Stone Breed and Daniel Thomas Susiga on Beas Orion Rains and Paul Hudson Stone Breed. Nice here at rock La Home. Man Man, we're here, We're here, We're here, and it is an amazing festival, isn't it? Like I do all kinds of vessels. This is by far when the coolest cool cool laid back. It's our first time to play here, so we're like soaking everything. Have you checked out the camp grounds? I know he has. We haven't. We haven't been in the camp grounds.
33 Ship If we're going tonight, you know, because we got it. We had to. We had to play Saturday night. So we got here Friday late, hung out a little bit. I had to play Saturday. So tonight's tonight. Now we were done playing now, so tonight is the night. Nice party time now, friends out there, there you go. There's a lot going on in the camp grounds, That's what I hear, a lot of there's even a rip club campsite. Yep, yep, people got some ones. Baby. There you go, there you go. So tell our listeners a little bit about you guys, you know, not not not some genre bullshit label, but how you guys think of yourself as artists and describe your music. We're just a good old fashioned hard rock, Southern flavored party band. I mean, you know, we like to have fun.
25 A lot of people say, you know, if you like bands like Errol Smith, ACDC, Van Halen with a little Southern mixed Molly Hatchett, Leonard Skinner type shot, you would like us. You know, we're a lot of fun on stage. People love us. You know, we have a lot of good times and shit. So we're just a party man. We'd like to have fun. Man, it's all about having fun at our shows. So to see, and I can see the different vibes blend it into because like he's got the definite eighties metal vibe you definitely have the Ronnie van Vie rock vibe. There you go. You have the Brett Michael's vibe going on because of the hat. And he's got the grunge vibe going on.
13 That's because of his flannel shirt. That's right, that's right. See, so you put that all together. I'm glad you didn't save Duran Duran or put it all together. We're called stone breathing. Yeah, if he fixed his hair a little bit, maybe flock of seagulls. Oh, there you go. So I know that man, very cool rock Oklahoma, And like, what's your experience been here so far? Like well, like I said, it's our first time playing here. So I mean if the crowd is unbelievable, the the the all the campgrounds and all that, I mean, just the amount of people that's here or what do they expect, like seventy thousand people sometimes? Yeah, I mean it's just it's it's insane. It's like just like you know, on a whole different level, you know, I mean we we we're not a brand new band. We tore around.
00 We're from Hollywood. We get to play with a lot of big national acts. We play a little smaller festivals. But this is big, This is like a big step up for us. Man. So this is like we're we're soaking it all in and where we're loving the experience. We're just checking everything, I man, And what's your craziest story in this whole musical journey? You guys have had craziest story, man, I mean I don't we got Yeah, that seems okay this festival more than most. That seems to be the answer. Like most other festivals, bands are like telling the story. They have to think about it for a second. Here, I've had at least three bands like, yeah, there's nothing we can tell you.
41 I mean, you know, we don't want to tell you about chicks on the bus getting violated with different foreign objects and stuff like that. We don't want to tell you about when we got midgets and farm animals on the party bus, you know, don't We don't want to tell you shit about when we're you know, rolling through town. We'll stop at a game, look at seo and the drummer gets arrested, and the bass player winds off with some dude's wife, and you know, people knocking on our door at six o'clock in the morning looking for their girlfriends and shit like that, or as jokes, we like to put ads in gay things and say, gay guys looking for fun to come to the room two twenty four the Ramada and and sitting around and watch them all knock on the bass player's door or something. So you know, no, we don't want to tell, you know, shit like that. So you know, there's a bunch of stuf we got to kind of keep secret, man, you know. But well you have a pretty good good apple pie though there you go, so like, well that's very American, man. That's yeah, that's very rock Oklahoma. Yeah, all the other stuff, man, that's a creative imagination. Well, if it was just imagination, it would be creative. And when it's real life baby coming at you, it's experiences. It's rock and roll, rock and roll. You've heard of sex drugs in rock and roll. That's true.
46 Well I think it's more like stone breed drugs and rock and roll. That is true. Well, it's more like sex, stone breed rock and roll. Maybe some drugs once in a while, little chocolate milk here and there, a couple dabs. See See, maybe the stone breed should be before to sex. Say you could say stone breed sex stone sex. Yeah. Hey, we'll take it anyway we can get it, brother, the first, second, last, We don't care as long as we're there. What was it? Yea? How many you got? Not that I know of? Oh okay, no kids for me, nothing I'm aware of.
29 I was on touring ninety three and I got three. I got your beat four a right man four and eight grandkids. Oh wow, I got no grandkids and I still go in mosh pits. I brought my grandkids into their first months. Nice. I got my twenty two year old son with me. Nice. He uh flew in from Cmatallician Phoenix. Nice. When we've got picked. When I picked him up at the airport, bring him over. When when I picked him up at the airport, he uh brought Zach Wild over to the van. It's like, Oh, these are my parents from Pantera, and Zach's like, oh these are your parents, cool man. Let me give you some picks, let's get some pictures. And I'm like, we're actually playing with you. So he brought he brought uh or Christians, you can come out radio. This dude knows more rock stars than we do. That's usually how it is. His name's Christian. What's up there, Christian? How you doing? So? I had the Zach Wild thing happened? He is as shit too. So literally, I walk out the airport, I get in the van. You dry like a hundred feet I just said. Now I doesn't how comfortable. He looks out the window and he's like, oh, there's Zach Wild right there. I holler at him, pull over right now, so he does. So I hop out.
44 I walk up to his like security guard or something, and he's like, oh, what's up man? And I call him Philly boyd McGee because that's what Zach calls all the time. He gets a huge kick out of it. And Zach turns around and says, what's up to me? And I told him I just saw him Phoenix, because that's why I just came from. That's he just came from. I told my family's right over there. He all got your family. So he walks over, gives them all guitar picks, including me, and then he takes my phone and it takes a picture of all of us. Nice see that, That's what I'm saying. That's even better. Super cool, super humble. You know, he is always super cool. One time I had press tent. Everybody impressed was like trying and get his autograph selfies and he was so nice. Finally, his tour manager, after I think like half an hour, was like, come on, guys, we're working here, you're done. Zach Wibb never said you're done. And Phil's like that too. Like I'm friends with Phil and his wife. One time I had to make me whisper to his ears it's time to go. It's like he'll never say no, so please go over and tell him I want him to go. When the wife says to go, it's time to go. So how how did you get into the music scene? Was it from your dad or well, I mean growing up obviously hearing rock and roll music in the household did have like something to do with it, you know. But at some at some point, I just started venturing off and taking my own you know. I like looked up Ozzy Osborne, you know, myself. Then he took me to an Azzy concert, you know, I looked up Iron Maiden, you know. Over the
16 years, like on like every music, you know. In middle school, that's when I started get into like Metallica and Megadeth and slipknot, you know nowadays, Like I'm into all kinds of music, you know, Like just in the past months, I have been to New Jersey, Texas, La Arizona, and I'm going to Saint Lucis Detroit in two months, all for Metallica. You are the man. Yeah, yeah, you're gonna You're gonna ship the next thing I say. I was at their first show ever. Oh wow, where was that? It was in La I don't even remember what club it was. There were twenty five of us and this dude gets off the stage after they're done, walks up to me and starts talking to me. I was like fifteen years years old. He was probably seventeen eighteen at the time, hands me his business card Metallica power Metal. There was no thrash yet, Dave Mustain, Oh nice, that's cool. Yeah, no, fuck me. I was a fifteen year old like him. What about this four? Back when we were kids, man, you could only afford to go to one show on a tour, right, I know right, And that's tickets were five bucks and you still get away fours man, I know right, You could go to a show with fifteen bucks. You could get a ticket a Drake and a T shirt I got cost me a thousand dollars, but it gets me access to the floor for fourteen different shows.
48 So if you do the math in your head, that is a steal as except you know how I got out of the floor. I would I would run through the stage and jump out in a four. I usually just get drunk and pass out and flying up on the floor right. So way you think of their music, like, we'll get your critique. I mean, I think I think their music's bad and ass. I think it's harr rock and I think it's kick ass, you know. I mean, they got him all the way to rock Oklahoma was playing with people like Corey Taylor, Rob Zombie, Ban Tara, you know. I mean they've played with also like amazing other hor rock bands like a Rat, you know, Armored Saint, you know, they played with like everyone you know, you know, I know, I mean I'm kind of biased because you know, he's might add and all that, you know, but there's but that's good because not all kids are like that. They're like there's plenty of people out there who will tell you, including the crowd who saw them just earlier, that they are one kick ass rock and roll band. See that's the best part of the interview right there. He gets all, yeah, there you go, hit. That's why he's going to Metallica and all these cities and and and he decided to miss Metallica tonight in Phoenix to come here nice. But then Metallica canceled tonight, so it worked out better for him. See how the universe works, that it all works out in your favor. Armored Saint was also one of my originals. I'm good friends with them friends and Phil.
13 He used to be a drama check for a Gonzo So you're ready for this, Like, okay, so I'm really good friends with Joey and I was their original merch guy at fifteen years old, like they didn't have a merch and me and my bro and yeah, well, originally Jersey in New York, and then in nineteen eighty I moved to La Nice, and I spent every waking second at the Sunset Strip or the Troubadour or the country Club and the received our home, our backyard, it's our home stage. First club show I ever went to was at the Roxy Motley Crew before they had an album, when they were still Horror punk. They weren't glam and they tried to light the roxy on fired to bring Satan in. I was like after, I was like, I'm never going to a real concert ever.
03 Again. That was cool as shit, especially since afterwards you walked with the band over to the Rainbow. Yeah. You know, every time we play that, that's what we do. We go, we go do you sound shack? We go to the Rainbow, wet dinner. We'd come back, we play our show, we go back to the Rainbow, we party down. Yep, that's what we do there. It is I I yeah, And I look at it now, like I go there, I'm like, can I fucking get in here? At fifteen sixteen years old? Oh yeah, I was walking in with Motley Crue or Lemmy or somebody like that, and they didn't question you. He's been going to the Whiskey since he was eight nine years old, nice backstage, sleeping on the stairs while his dad's playing, and shit like that. See how cool is that? Like?
43 And I could tell on his face he thinks it's cool. Not all kids would think it's cool. I have four kids to think it would be cool when they were kids. Two wouldn't. Yeah, you know it'll be like oh la la lah. But then there's the others like oh man, okay, love sure went from the Scooby Doo phase to the WWE wrestling phase to the rock and roll phase. There it is. He's when he's into something, he's into song and this is the best phase yet. Right, Yeah, there you go. So how does everybody connect to you guys on socials? Yeah yeah, even if it's at even if it's after Rock Oklahoma yet come back here to the grounds and maybe the merch will still be there. That's right, that's right.
