04 Hey, you lunto here, that's true for see wow crazy young. This is pipe Man here on the Inventors pipe Man W four c Y Radio, and I'm here with what's up? This is Mike E from Snatt. This is John Tumor from Snott. And we got our buddy Angelo here filling in on guitar for Sonny. What up, y'all? Nice? You're at Louder than Life? Have you played Louder before I even remember? You know what? We've played a lot of Wimmer festivals, but this is the first.

45 Time Louder and it's how badass? Is it? Fucking awesome? Dude? Right? Oh yeah, oh, all these festivals are killer well. And that brings me to my first questions, Like I always ask this because I want to know how artists are treated. How does Danny Wimmer treat his artists at the festivals? We always get treated really good, and we always get really excited when we get to play it play one of his festivals. We show up, they get us backstage, so our dressing room, they have people take us back there. They make sure we got waters and food and beers. And always I mean the production, the stage, I mean the crowd just like everything is awesome. And it just makes your job that much more eat, It's that much easier and more fun exactly.

29 You know, if you had to walk a mile to the stage every time and they didn't have the service to get the artists to where they need to be, it would actually be very painful. They got us to shuttle and stuffs, and these festivals are huge and it's hot and sometimes. Oh yeah, it's super odd out there, load in sound check, stress with that shit just makes it a terrible set for you to get up there and do. We had a good time today. Man, that's the key right there, because if you're not having fun up there, this is the wrong because there's not much other fun besides the making the music and playing the music. We always say, if you ain't having fun, then why are you doing it? No doubt. I don't get like these new artists nowadays that they think they're in the business world or something and think.

16 They give a shit about it. Is like, how much money am I going to make to do that? Right? Really? Like, we do it for the love of music. That's the reason we're here. Is still that's too though, And I'm old, well, yeah, I'm old school. This is my eighties. That's my eighties battle vest. That's not a battle that's patch in the eighties, dude. Oh yeah, Chris. This was before they even had a patch. So I just did this And so I'm walking around LA and people was. A gang begger, you know, and that was my gang name right on. It's bad. If you were to pick besides the obvious slayer Metallica, if you were to pick any band on this whole vest to play with, who would it be?

57 Jeez, that's hard, I mean, and we just played with Exploited Nice. Actually, oh yeah, I had the shirt on the stage. They gave me der eyes. Great. Yeah, s O D. You know they're gonna be doing a show Aftershock. Yeah, not with Billy, Not with Billy. Obviously they're calling it like a tribute so D. But it's Scottian g G B H. There it is, okay Scotty who else? His son's playing drums? Heard that Milker's playing? Oh yeah. And then you got Jamie Josta singing, Oh that's awesome. Yeah yeah, And I've watched videos. I'm like, I am so excited it's going.

39 You can imagine s O D start today they'd be canceled in like two. Seconds these days, right, those songs, man, they're like some of my favorite songs. It's like, I don't know if I should play this and depending on who's in the car with me. Damn you did, Bubble, But. She's so bad. About pre menstrual princess blues, the one part where it's like, hey, hermae, where are my Maxi Pats? I'm spending out class the size of basketball. So it's funny mister Bundle doesn't does speak English or Die at their gigs here in the States, they don't say speak English or die because they get canceled for doing that. So they do speak Spanish or die.

28 And at Grasspop they did speak Flemish or die. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah Belgium, right, dude. I live in Belgium three months a year, do you? Yeah? Yeah, it should be more now because we're getting fucked up over here. Yeah yeah. I spend like, when I'm not doing festival season, I spend time at Costa Rica or Europe, you know, and I love it over there. Speak Flemish diving, I know that's great, right, Hey, how about Dubal beers? Oh see, I know but they're My hair was blue up until recently. So I went and I took a picture of me being the mannequin piss. I was pissing blue. Oh yeah, there you go.

09 Right, there's got to be a girl out there that wants blue piss on it. Yeah, sure, like I watch the Blue Aliens from the Star Trek, right, yeah, why not? Kurt always got the greatest the Grays Aliens. You got some tail, that's for sure. Some alien tale. There you go. So one memory good or bad or crazy or not crazy in this whole career, and maybe the three of you have different ones. What story would you tell you? I mean, there's no story that can top the time Lynn got naked on the Olympus toilet and got a blow job in front of twenty thousand people and then got arrested. And then when he was doing the police report, he told the police his name was Dave Mustaine. So yeah, he can't beat that story, yeh yeah, yeah yeah yeah, And he got another charge.

01 I was fucking beautiful, and he got charged for st lion. He got charged for ludak in public and then also false whatever given a wrong name because he left and they thought they arrested. Dave was saying, so yeah, then found out later. Yeah, so I have a fight story off the air, we'll talk out louder than life. We might not want to say it on the air, but you'll love it. But what I will say about Dave Mustain. So I was at the first Metallica show ever, first Layer show ever too, Jesus okay, but at the first Metallica show there was like twenty five of us there, I think sick, and dude gets off the stage comes up to me.

41 I don't know, I must have been like, I'm only a few years younger, nineteen eighty one, yeah, yeah. And I think I was like thirteen fourteen something like that. Incredible stude walks up to me and hands me his business card and it says he's talking to me. He says metallic power metal because thrash them exists yet, right, so they were power metal for a minute. Yeah, Dave must stay. Yes, that's fucking red. He was probably eighteen or something like that. Yeah, and he was already driven, you know what I mean. Look, miss Dane, He's a different animal, for sure. But you gotta respect the dude. Oh the music he's put out and the legacy and the metal he's given us all pure respect.

25 Listen, why the greatest guitarists. Of all time, one of the greatest just thrash metal pioneers ever. No doubt he's mixing in that jazz and stuff into it. It's like he's a weird motherfucker. But he's a badass dude. Right, no doubt. Like, and you know what I think about it, how do you get kicked out of alcoholic or being an alcoholic? Well, he was a mean one. I read his book. If you could tell he would like to fight when he got drunk, he you know. Started ship. He's probably still be He punched. Out Headfield over a doll I think, or there was a story. That was something like that. Yeah, and you could tell he still has issues with Laars this.

08 He won't let that go. Yeah. No, but let's say. Anyway, I want to get off to the stage trip. Yes, I want to leave respect. Oh. I love the state. He's great guitars and just a great artist. The music he wrote. Man, I don't think you put a bad record out. No, And I won't say the same about Metallica. I love Metallica. They're my favorite of all time. They're the greatest, but they put out some duds. Man, which album do you not like the least? It's like they they even know it. They say it every time. Yeah, Yeah, it's a weird snare. I don't think. I don't think. I don't think we're staying to put a bad record every even later.

48 I and what's your favorite album of yours mine? Yeah, we only got get Some, right, get Some my favorite? Nice. Yeah, we're working on a new album right now. I hear about that. Chris Collier who's produced the last two or three Corn Records and Prong, and he's done a lot of cool shit, and him and I reclick. So I've been sitting with him and we're writing songs. John myself and Jamie Miller. We're putting new shit together right now. I love it. Yeah. I always ask artists like you to have been doing this forever. How do you keep coming up with new songs? Man? Dude, I write a song every single day. Man. The gifts from somewhere. Honestly, they just drop out of the universe. Yeah, Pa thomas Son, you just come up with some shit and just like, where did that come from?

35 Right? Patam In so odd of artists like you being able to do that. When I write stuff that I usually love, it's usually morning when my brain is fresh, recharged. Right, I got a couple of coffee me and I've just come up Almost every day first three if I put on like holy shit, that's cool, I'll record it and then I'll come back later in the day and try to do it again. I can't do it right, yeah, but usually every single day something will come out and I'll record it and then work it out later into a song. Do you know they played here? Do you know that on the Angel of Death that scream on the album he did it once and couldn't repeat it. Oh?

18 Really? Yeah, that's the story, Like he couldn't repeat it, and luckily they recorded it Lane did the first time because he couldn't repeat it. I believe it, right, Yeah, So the mighty Tom Raya, let's. Go, I know, totally yea with another king O Slayer. Unbelievable. I mean listen, I. Just had some drinks with Carrie King in France like three weeks ago. Yeah, you were? Were you at Hellfest? No? We played it Motoriculture Okay. And like he always does when I see he got me so hammered. I was on his bus. I spilled a cocktail all over in his bus and shit made a complete ass of myself. And then he poured me another drink before anybody cleaned up the drink.

03 Oh yeah, yeah, that was good man. He's great. I love Kerry king Man. That's great. Ship. Yeah, what else he got coming down the pike that you want people to know about? We are? Okay, there's some stuff. We're playing the Glasshouse December fifth in California and Plona. Get tickets because it's gonna sell out. But the real cool, well, there's two cool things we're doing after Shock. Like I'll be there too in two weeks. I think it is. I love after after Shock. At Sacramento, we're playing I'm bummed the slot we got. We're playing on a Thursday with Blink Rneity too. Oh I'm out here. I'm not gonna say I'm happy about playing with that fucking band. You know what happened last time they were right after Shock? They headlined I know most of the people left. Yeah, And what I was hearing a lot of people saying, is like like that this while it's fifteen, but it doesn't really apply it, dude.

52 Listen, we're playing Thursday with Blink Whinnie. I feel like we're not even playing the show at the festival. But anyway, let's move on from that ship. And what's really cool is we're going to Australia where soul Fly. And nail Bomb WHOA in January. Dude. I just saw a nail Bomb at Bloodstock who I was covering Bloodstock. I was like, oh, yeah, my god, that's gonna be cool. We're like family with the Cavallera family and soul Flies. I was in soul Fly for five years, did two records of Max and snot the first shows we ever did, but we were sol Fly. Actually their first show soul Fly ever played was with Snow Wow. Yeah. And so we're gonna be in Australia with them in January. We're excited about it.

39 Man, Oh, I'm excited about that. That's a pre good the cavalleras man Max specifically, he's like, that's everything done everything to me. Sepulteura is not Sepulteura without Matt. You know what, I'm gonna go go ahead and just say it. You're right, it never was. Andreas and Paolo all respect they're kings as well in the Middle World, but without Max Kallera come on, man, and Derek fuck he did his. Best, you know, but Max's dude. Yeah, man, Max is the Max is another king and the king of kings. Well you're the king too, nod as the king. Thank you, appreciate you're the cake louder than like.

20 We're in there somewhere and not one of them guys. And you're gonna be the king of aftershock regardless on Thursday. On Thursday with Blake, they too. You should guy, do a spoof and like kind of fake them out, like you're gonna play. That would be funny, right, just. Come out and play their set. I would fucking laugh. Don't even play our music, just play their set the day they That would be so amazing. Oh man, well you guys fucking rock. Thank you. Thanks for being on the pipe Man, all. Right, laying the pipe man.
