04 Hey, you love them too, sus Sure, I'm come from for See Why wake up America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on W four cy dot com west pom Beats his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. It's is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here whip Fan from Skin Tyler and Jules from Skin maya nice here at Bloodstock all and listen.
02 I think you guys are lucky blame today because it's a little cooler has been in the past couple of days. I don't know about you guys, but if I was a band, I wouldn't want it. So god dang hot man. We were real last year just on Joys and it was fucking hot, really hot. The Thursday, it was really fucking hot. I live in Florida. I'm like, send me home so I can cool off. Smitty right, Oh my god, it's insane. You walk out of your house and within two seconds, literally you're sweating. Is shower again. So tell us about your music, not from a genre standpoint, because I hate when artists are boxed into your this. Artists I think are a blend of every influence they've ever had grown up, and we all have different influences.
52 Listen, I'm a metalhead, I'm a bunk, but I also listened to classic rock. I listened to Scott Industrial. There's been times I've listened to jazz. I mean, look, Megadup is playing here and it's very jazz influence. So how do you describe your music? I mean fast, these riffs, really, that's it. Like nice, I say, we all still come from different kind of pockets of that of those kind of metal subgenres. Right, So you're hearing a load of thrash, you're hearing some potentially some like some death in there, you know, some death metal in there. We've got some big stompy breakdowns kind of like hardcore riffs in there as well. So, as you say, it's a real amalgamation of like all of our outside influences and bringing that in. And I love that too.
38 And by the way, I'm in total thrash metal head. So I love that you said that one first. But what I love about is, you know, back in the day, there weren't so many subgenres, a microgenres, and you know, you take the Big four thrash, and of them sounded the same, you know, in fact metallicauld before there one's a such a word as thrash. What's called power metal if you can imagine, you know, so basically nowadays, it's almost like people bands use an algebraic equation to write their music. It's like, this is the formula, do not deviate, and then you have ten bands that are the exact same band that I even can't tell the difference. Like back in the day people would say I can't tell the difference, but I could always tell a difference. Now I can't even tell a difference. I want somebody that has a unique sound that stands out and that only comes from blending influences. Totally agreed. I think it's something we tried to do a lot. Is just organically get together in practice room during beers and right ribs. Sorry, that's it. I love it. I love it. So tell me a story of what brought you here to Bloodstock. Well, I mean it, I mean I guess yes. So the whole manifestation of the band started over Lockdown, started during COVID. Yeah, it was just two guys in a room, just thrashing out metal Risks and then bringing it to the rest of the band and yeah, and we started the projects. Yeah, so we're kind of hit.
00 You know, we've been just kind of we got the album out. Album Out came out last year received really well, you know, so at this point we're just kind of like fucking loving what we're doing. Really, just getting back into the room, writing savage riffs and just having fun really and that's what it's all about, you know. Nice, I love it and you're going to kick our ass here at Bloodstock, right, Yeah, so what's going to happen after Bloodstock? How are you getting top this? We got some stuff in the pipeline. Yeah, we're playing with mutoy Man soon, got a few tools plans and then yeah, I guess album too really, OK. Tangent next week as well. I don't know if you've spotted that festival, but it's down down towards Always So we're kind of were So we're Bristol based in the southwest Ish, well, one of one of us is writing based, but mostly Bristol based. Yeah, so there's a there's a festival out in the Mendips down by cheddar Our Tangent Festival and it's just been kind of touted as this, I don't know, like a community of just left field, weird experimental music for the last twelve years. And yeah, we're playing that next week as well, So it's gonna be it's gonna be absolutely sick. But it's something that we frequent every year, like we're literally there every years. So since that's a weird festival, as you put it, what's the weirdest story you have from that festival? Oh? God, can we I mean, there's sun that's probably a bit much. Uh, it's gonna be fuck up Friday. Yeah, our drummer had his stag night at this festival when I think it's the most alco I've ever drunk in my life. Yeah. So the day, the day started with a giant
31 a giant hip flask, right, Okay, it's over the giant hip flask. And it was basically anyone who had anything in any kind of bottle would go in this hip flask and then what we would do is write the alcohol that would go on this hip flask. And this hip flask was massive, It's huge. So by the end of the day, this whole thing was just filled up with like shopping lists of different spirits and liquor, and it was it was brutal, very very brutal. At some point someone put green tea in it, right and that kind of made it sweet for a little while. And then send it to send it. Wow, that's funny. Oh man, what's the So what's the most fucked up thing that has happened on stage for you guys? I don't know. I'm not sure. See that's a good question. That's a good question. Yeah, I just came up with that one. Now, I think from now on playing playing smaller little shows, kind of growing up and stuff. I definitely saw some fucked up ship people thrown up when they're doing vocals. It's pretty fun. Lots of bales, lots of thrills and spills. Weeah. We had a good one that a Griffin, small pub in Bristol recently, The Griffin, where someone bought me a beer and then put it right in front of my pedal board. Please please don't do that. Actually a prop to that guy for the beer though, thank you. We also happened to uh well head like we were headlining, but we had an Elvis impersonator as a support act.
53 That's pretty fucked up. In a thrash. All right, that's pretty we've we'ven dropped a cover of Eva Las Vegas. It was it was a crash version of Eva last Oh I want to hear that, man. So what's funny about that is I normally asked a question of you know, one story good or bad when you're like eighty that you're going to talk about, what will be? You know what? The number one answer has been shipping their pants on stage. So far, so good hasn't happened? Okay, that good, good good. I don't know if you saw in the news over here a few years back a festival that I do, there was a band performing. The lead singer was a female, and I guess she forgot to go to bathroom back stage, so she kept talking when she came on stage.
42 Man, I gotta get in a bathroom, and like, you can't do it once you're on stage. So what she decided to do is she asked the crowd. She said, it's been always my fantasy to pee in somebody's mouth. Who wants to volunteer this? You saw it? The brass band? Right? Oh yeah, oh my god, oh my god. I was like I was up by the photo pit, and then I started backing up, you know, and no because I backed up because here's what happened next. It's redneck dude. Okay, he was like totally into it. He gets up on stage and he was like into it. He lives down, she stands over him, and he'll tell you this was the never ending pa. I mean, like she must have drank a gallon of water that came out right then. And oh my god. The guy got up and he it was like a dog. He shook his head like he had the pea all over his hair, shook his head and then he spray spit it on the crowd. That's why I backed up. Skin failure, don't shame whatever you're into. Yeah, I know, right, yeah right, whatever flows your bow man there you go. So tell everybody how they can connect your own socials on the web. But and get your music buy your merch because that's the only way band survived nowadays. And they can't listen to
15 my show unless they buy band merch. Yeah, so it's just skin failure across all socials, right, skin failure UK across all socials. We've got a band camp obviously up with all the merch and yeah, obviously if vinyl, comic books all sorts of stuff. So we've got graphic novel to go along with the record as well. The whole records like concept, so it has it has a narrative that runs all the way through. So we've released the graphic novel to go alongside it. So there's some cool stuff that you can pick up. There's some cool stuff that links to the music as well. So yeah, I love the comic book and graphic novel thing. That is cool. There's a few bands I do it, but it's not common, but it goes hand in hand. Yeah, we look messed around with AI generated art for it. It looks amazing, really. Yeah, it took a while. Our vocalists got on it and like, it took a while to achieve what you wanted, but it looks fucking great. So you created the whole and I'm interested in this because that was one of the things I was going to do. I haven't found somebody graphically that I wanted to do it yet that was gonna make, you know, a Pipeman comic book.
15 And so your whole comic book was done with AI all the art. I'm going home and doing that now. Yeah, but it takes some tweaking, but like, that is amazing. You know. There's the negatives of AI, you know, because I come from the school of the machines are going to take over, But there's the positive right there because artists like you that you know, they're not going to spend thousands with a graphic artists to do it, can now do something that can help you to keep playing music for us. Yeah, and it also kind of goes hand in hand with the fact that it's kind of thrashed but also weird, right, and it's all kind of art work slightly. Yeah, it's odd. You'd have to check it out to understand it. But yeah, it's one of those things where, Yeah, when we saw those first pictures come through that II generated out, it was like perfect, Wow, it looks amazing. I love it. I love it, and man, love you guys. Everybody's got to check you guys out and buy your merge, but most importantly by your comic books now, in graphic novels and any final words you want to tell the listeners that we haven't covered yet, just got check us out. Yes, live fast the ass Now those are great final words. Thanks for being on the Adventures plate Man. Thanks for being a flood stock. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of plate Man on W four CUI Radio.
