04 Hi, you unto Yes, that's true. Why crazy young? This is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man w four c Y Radio and I'm here with Sin from Seaglos. Pedro Sanchez from Sieglows Welcome. This is Squant being a bass player of Sieglos. Nice here at Bloodstock. I can't believe we both had to come all the way over to Pond to do this interview. We could have done it in l A, I know, right, we could have done it in the States, but no, we came to the UK to do this interview. You know why though, because Bloodstock is the best fucking festival. Absolutely absolutely, We're beyond excited to be here. We can't believe that this is our UK debut, right, We're debuting here.
53 At the Bloodstock Festival. So this is amazing to us. What's so cool about this festival is it's d I y, it's family, it's community and everybody is part of the festival. Yeah, it's very I mean it. You can feel it differently. Obviously, I've done a lot of the festivals out here in Europe. This one definitely has more of a family vibe to It doesn't feel quite as corporate, you know, what I mean. I know, I was just talking about that with Vicky earlier. Yeah, so we dig everyone here, man. Everyone's just been great to us, Simon, Vicky Horn who helped us get over here. It's just it's definitely like a family vibe and we can feel it. Yeah, totally. And you guys got lucky because the weather's actually nice. Yeah. I think the gods are with us, no doubt, because I got a little worried the first day.
41 I'm walking to the pres Dent and start raining and I'm like, oh, here we go, because yeah, for like five minutes, not today, but the first day, and the weather here is bipolar. I've thought of actually moving over here to go away from the craziness. I even think now at this point, I might get aborted from the US because I go to Costa Rica all the time, just guilt by association. You know, I live in Florida where they have that stupid alligator Alcatraz. Shit. Okay, but I couldn't deal with the weather here man. It's like bipolewar. So you guys brought the nice weather over here, that's the key. But well, I'm really happy about the music you're bringing over here, so tell us more about your music for people that have not heard you guys yet.
34 Yes, well we have the and Destroy heavy metal rifts from the Great Sin. They say they can hear a little bit of ministry in there, and well. You would come on the parts. I love it, and a bit of blend with the stuff that I do. You know, it's black death metal with the other band that I had a Transno and this is a nice blend we did in the pond, you know. Yeah, it happened very organically for me music for this project. I started writing it during the pandemic and I was going to do a solo record and I wanted to have an extreme metal track, and so I wrote one song and I was speaking to my producer, Alex Chrisioni, and he suggested Pedro, and so Pedro came down to the studio, played him the song. He dug it, and it was funny because one of the first things he asked me was do you want it in English or Spanish?
28 And I, without even thinking, I was just like Spanish, yeah, and Spanish yeah. It hadn't even and it hadn't even occurred to me, so I just thought, wow, that's an even cooler angle for this to have. And so we did the first track, and I loved it so much that I asked him to do another one, and then another one, and then I said, you know what, fuck the solo record, I go, I want to turn this into a project. And so that's how he and I started writing together and working together, and then eventually things started rolling and did a couple of music videos and then formed the band, and now what two years later, here we are. So here you are. And yeah, I gotta tell you. One of the things I like is the word blending, because nowadays, so many bands they're like stuck in this small little micro genre and there's this formula for making music.
18 The blending is what makes you unique. Absolutely, yeah, and we I mean that's something that I've always said about this band is I don't want us to be just in a box. I want the band to grow. So I don't want us to be just this kind of band or just this kind of band, like we're gonna throw in different elements in there, whatever those may be. I just want us to constantly be growing. I don't want to be just pigeonholed in a box. So and no artists should be no like the whole point and especially playing as long as you have. But it's like you want to evolve, you want to experiment. You don't want to be one dimensional. Our drummer experiments all the time. Tell us about that. Tell us, sorry, our drummer's experimenting right now. Oh, very he's over there with a couple guys.
02 Tell us a little bit about the experiment. Just kidding, just kidding. No, you're very right. The most boring thing for me is to ask someone what the band is like and say, oh, they're just this kind of band. And I didn't want that for this project. We might sing in English one day, we might sing and we don't know, I don't There are no rules here, so I want us to constantly be growing. There's a lot of elements we implement in there. So there's chanting in there as well, you know, shamanic chanting. I love that regular vocal singing in there as well, the gut roles, and it's just our essence, that's what we're putting into it. You know, we're not trying to sound like a certain genre or anything like that. We're actually putting our own essence into it.
48 So and it's just a blend. And I think that's where the magic is when it's true, when it really comes from a sincere part. And how do you feel about your cohesive chemistry between all you guys. That's what makes this thing work, and that's the magic, and that's very rare. We all have that. This lineup has it, and I felt it. As soon as this group of guys got together. I knew that that was it. And that's very rare, especially coming from all the bands I've played with and. Stuff like that. There's always like, Okay, well there's a little bit of chemistry here, but not so much here. This band we have that we all get along, we're all friends. We all enjoy each other's company, which is rare or yeah, and we also not only with the music. I mean we truly even outside the music, truly enjoy each other's company and I think it shows. But having that chemistry is just that's the magic, man is.
43 It can be brutal if you don't have that friendship that I know. I've done it. Yeah, I've done it for many years. Yeah, And we can see it out in the audience. You can see it. It doesn't have to be as extreme as Jane's addiction. But you know, right, but we get it, you Wally, you could definitely like, oh man, they look like that they're not happy to. Be up there, like they do not like each other at all. Right, it shows Yeah, No, the chemistry is definitely there, and that just makes it that much more of a joy to be in this band. Yeah, and listen, if you're not having joy in this industry, don't fucking do it.
23 What's the point? No, nothing else is it's gonna be cool? Exactly. Yeah. I'll tell you something too. We were talking about you guys the media people as we were waiting to come in this morning, sitting out there, and if you're the media people, said, you guys are gonna fucking blow up. Wow. We're grateful and honored and flattered to hear stuff like that, man, it really means a lot. I can't honestly thank everybody enough for the support that we've received in this short amount of time. We're truly grateful for that stuff. Man, We're beyond honored. And I mean that I'm not just saying those words, no sincerely, So to hear stuff like that really really hits a nerve with us and.
03 You know what else too. They also were saying that there was some other band at Bloodstock that was playing that They're like, they're not really that good anymore, and they were a very good set And I'm not lying. I'm not lying at that was right, was said first, And then we start talking about you guys are like, oh, they're fucking good. They're gonna blow up. Ah. Man, that's again. Man, I don't even know what to say. Man, I'm beyond honored and grateful for that. Man, so means a lot. Well, you know what, that's what happens too when you have that chemistry and friendship and the elimination of bullshit. Oh man, ego bye, that's the ultimate killer right there.
45 Man is the ego. And again, Man, I am very thankful for my career, for the career that I've had, Not that I'm some big rock star by any means, but just a little amount of success I've had. I'm always gonna be appreciative of all all of my bands that I've been in that they've all placed me here. So I'm always gonna say thanks and smile. But you know, always onward and upwards. That's it. How does it feel too? Okay, you're singing in Spanish. When the gringos are out there singing your songs, I'm just beautiful. I don't know. There's a collective consciousness and we all tap into it and it just feels really beautiful and that gives us more energy to do what we do and that we're on the right path.
31 I mean to us. You know, music is such a universal thing. Yeah, obviously it's a universal language, so to us, whatever language it's in. Man, when we see and we feel that we're connecting with the crowd and with people, it doesn't matter what. We get messages like that all the time from people. We're like, man, we have no idea what you're saying, but we love it and we're feeling it, Like that's that's that. What matters. Universal language if yes, it's the language of the soul, no doubt. I have said recently, okay that with all the bullshit going on in the world, if we want to solve all the world's problems, we should have one major music festival that everybody is required to attend and we could just solve forget wars and bullshit. Just you'll see when you go out like here at bloodstock. Everybody's united, nobody's thinking about ain't a shit that's going on. Let's just love each other and there are.
24 No outside correct Yeah, I agree. Now, going back to COVID, it's funny that you said writing during COVID because I've said for a long time now that some of the best music is gonna come out of COVID, And my belief is you guys were on a hamster wheel for so long in this industry that you didn't have time to be creative anymore. It's like, let's write a song on the bus to the next gig, and we have to put it in right away. And as a writer, like a lot of times you'll write the song, but then it's gonna change multiple times, and with those deadlines, you don't have time to do that. So COVID gives you a chance to go back to your roots, to what it was like in the beginning, when you're first writing music.
09 It's very funny that you said that term hamster wheel because I use that all the time, and I say it in the context of when I was in my old band. I felt like I was in that hamster wheel, right. Not trying to talk negative or anything like that was just me. And when you're in that hamster wheel, you're just doing this. You're not really seeing things, you're not really grasping things. When COVID hit, I got off that wheel. We all had to, right and I sort of started to really look around and I started to realize that there were certain things that I. Didn't want anymore and that just weren't cool with me anymore. And during that period I started writing, and I think it shows in the music that ended up in this project.
52 But I had to sort of get off that wheel and really sort of connect with myself again and what was important to me and what I wanted to do. And it was during that, you know, a year or two after that, when I left my previous band, and that's when this started. Well, and to that point too, once you got off the hamster wheel, probably when we all came back, you saw things you didn't see. Before, completely completely differently, right, Everything looked completely different. Yeah, And that's the beauty of that too, because people had a chance, no matter what they were doing, to reevaluate everything they did in their life instead of just going through the motion. Yes, and here we are a bloodstock.
37 During that period, there are a lot of divorces as well. Yeah, well in every every sense of the word many. Yeah, because then you're forced twice for seven to be with these people and you're like, fuck. That, I'm out of here. Oh yeah, bloodstock. Yeah, I think you know what we need to do. I go to Costa Rica a lot, like I was there for three months last year. We get rid of the insanity of our country. And we need a festival in Costa Rica. Besides the Envision one that's the only one they have. We need a metal festival in Costa Rica. So I'm gonna figure that out there you go, Well, have you guys head.
18 We'll be there, man, we'll be there there. We'll open we don't care. We'll play the little tiny site stage. We'll have you open end headline there, you can open it and close. Here you go right on, man, you could be like Matallica, play two different sets exactly. We'll do our English and Spanish versions. See there you go. That would be funny, right there you go? All right, So tell everybody how they reach out to you on socials, on the web, and most importantly buy your merch because they can't listen to my show and yeah, So we're on all. The socials, the facebooks, the instagrams, the what else. Do we have? We have a band camp as well, right, so people can buy our CDs and shirts, can find. Us all the social seagloss SA, g l o s, just reach out to us there by anything that you'd like.
04 We have CDs, we have merch t shirts and all that stuff. So we just appreciate the support. Our videos are up on YouTube and we're on all the streaming platforms and all that stuff. Nice. Well, I am so excited you're here at Bloodstock. It's one of my favorite festivals and now it's even better that you guys are playing. Hell y'all and thanks for being on the event. Thank you very much. Man, appreciate it. Brother good n Hey, this is Sin from Sieglos Pedro. This is Horn from Sieglows. You're listening to pipe Man Radio on W four cy.
