04 Hey, you lunto here? That's sure? Wow, crazy you. This is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio, and I'm here. With Cody from Set It Off, Max from Set It Off. Zach from a different band. I was waiting for that. That's see. I love It's like having them around. They're already my type of person. Okay, because I was gonna say something, I'm like, well, who's from the other band? I'm not really, I'm actually the guitar player I started the band something.
46 Well are you sure? Unless I have amnesia, but I'm pretty for sure all. The years it's possible. And there is an open bar out there. But you probably didn't get to take part take in that. We got coozies. Oh well, there you go. Maybe the clues are coming together. So first we'll start off. You made a comment about this is my battle vest from the eighties get out for real. That's six Slayer didn't even have a patch yet. WHOA. So I did that and it was in l A and people thought it was a gang banger and that was my gang name. No way, it would be a good gang name though, right, Yeah, so I'd be terrified of you there's right more.
28 A bunch of bands are playing here today that are probably on here. Yoh, so as you can see, it's seen some action. And can you tell how that is? Yea there and there's the editor logo up there. Can you tell who this is up here? Oh it's venom? I oh my god? What material was the patch back then? It's like paper weird and everybody comments on that. And then I have blood from climbing up on Marshall Stack and doing stage crowd move? Oh yeah, what was your go to? Your were your stage dive guy? Your crowds? And after that, I don't stage I have or crowd serve.
09 I'd trust ay By enough. Yeah he got what's up man? Okay? Watte? He got your drink? Oh yeah, do you want it? No? Okay, it's really good missing out all right? Yeah, I don't know he's going He did take my drink. I didn't know it's yours. It's like give me a mat don don getting me another one? And now we're gonna go for round two. We're gonna do like a co combo interview. Oh yeah, I love it. Birds for Birds yeah right. Here, support Philly in general. We didion. We coach a Division against the Dodgers Game one. Okay, yep, I haven't been beening close attention because we're doing like a music thing. Yeah, yeah, it's good, it's fine.
50 I got notifications. Yeah no, wait, this is what would be good for this okay, yeah, so you have to do it. Last week there was this ban the baseball program. I can't believe I yeah, okay, but I told them a story about an interview I did here at this venue with Airborne at this festival that they were drinking bourbon for an hour before they came to me. That must have been fun. And you know they're Australian and they announced a Mets game. They announced the Mets game during.
30 The interviews thing. Yeah yeah, the whole thing were so drunk. What the Mets game? Yeah, Mets suck man, go Phil Schobert. I was gonna so I was gonna ask you to announce whatever game you were talking about. Yeah, we're both Philly guys, so we just tore. Together and we're from Jersey, so. We bonded over sports and stuff. Yeah, Philly fans are the fucking worst. I used to hearing it. I'm used to it. I had second row Devil's tickets for years. I guess the flyers every time you guys came to our fucking house, Like there were fights and you're not allowed to wear a Devil's jersey at the Spectrum or yeah, I don't know where.
14 They played with something else now. Yeah, spectrum, that's all I'll ever call it. But yeah, and then there's some people from South Jersey and it's like, you're not from Jersey, You're from fucking Philly. Yeah, like we should like just do a thing. No one will believe it. They've tamed more as the year's gone on, but we already got the reps. So it's just stand on. You know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna have resident Rump. I'm gonna have them renamed South Jersey Philadelphia. I kind of love that. We'll call it, yeah, the Gulf of Philadelphia. Love it, absolutely love it. More cheese steaks out there. We'll get some spots opened up. That is something good about you. Yeah, I'll give that to you, Rocky, I'll give you. Yeah, I'll give you Joe Frazier.
00 But other than that, at least we got something. Man. Actually, I did date. This girl that she sings in a hardcore punk band from Philly, and she's telling me and move there. I'm like, I am not moving to Philadelphia. Okay, Like I don't care. We would have to break up if I moved to Philadelphia. That was the line. We're not together. Yeah, that was the line. That was it. Okay, But let's talk about your new album coming in November. Yes, that's more important, dude. We're so excited about it. Man, I'm obviously we're excited. We love what we do, but it's just this album is the most fun we've ever had on an album ever. And I love hearing that. Dude. It's because the reason why is, like, so we were signing labels, right, well, we started this whole process just climbing that ladder, and you could get lost in like what your goals are. But once once we were we saw the end of that contract with that label we were on, we decided let's not re sign, let's do this on our own. And then once that happens, there's like this switch that flips on and you're like, oh, we can do this our way.
56 We can do this exactly how we want. To do it, should exactly said that for years, like in the eighties. I used to beak backstage with all my friends that were bands, and the record label was telling them how to do their music, and I had to I think the suits have a place, but not in the creativity process. Oh yeah, that was That was great. Thanks for finally chiming into the interview. Welcome. This is Max from the band Set it Off. By the way, half, I'm also in the band Set it Off. I'm Cody Zachy's from Dragon Tooth, Dragon Tooth. He's from the band Dragon Tooth. Should have said from Ashes to Now. Yeah, he's from Ashes to Dragon Tooth to Tooth, from Dragon to Tooth.
38 There you go. So you guys are having too much fun? Yeah, like it's fun, man. I know right? Yeah, Like I sometimes I hear some other media interviews. I'm like, if I were the artist, I'd be slit. In my throat right now. Okay, this is not a fun interview. You have to make it fun. Like, if you're not having fun in this business, you're in the wrong trant. Like why did you start? You started because you. Loved it, and that's why I loved what you said about the album, Like how can you keep writing albums if you're not having fun. And that's so what's funny about the translating in from the doing whatever we want? It also kind of subconsciously happened in the writing process too, or like we if we can do whatever we want, let's tune down some guitars and let's bring some energy into this. So we took everything we've learned through all of our albums over the years and just kind of found a way to merge it all together. Didn't expect radio or anything, because we've tried before and it just didn't happen. That's fine, So we just went in just let's write songs that we love, and then Punching Bag was the first one, and then it's the first song we ever had at radio.
35 So it's just been like this, I have like chills thinking about this, man, Like, it's so cool that it can happen when you're not planning for it and you're just worried about having the best time of your life. And see, I already related to that song. It's probably even not what your song means, but that's a great song. When I think of something, you had a different meme whenever. But yeah, I've been divorced twice, so I can totally relate to punch you. Yeah. But that's the beauty of it too, is like I could be thinking about a specific situation. Anybody hears another song, they think of it entirely different in how it suits them in their situation. It's the beauty of music in general. Man. You know what I love too about what you're saying is one of the things that bothers me, especially nowadays, is the whole genre bullshit. You're an artist. You should be able to create whatever music you want. Amen and record labels do that. It's like you have to be in this genre and play this music. Yeah, but what as you grow as an artist you want to experiment.
24 Yeah, it's like it's like putting a steel wall in a playground. You know, you don't want to be boxed in. You want to be able to have like as much fun and flexibility as you want. And if you've listened our previous albums, you'll see that's very apparent. We've experimented with so many different genres, but now like finding this has just been like the most fun as far as like this is the best playground we've experienced. I love it, And what are you think of the playground out there. Oh dude, you know we're excited. Are you gonna actually like go to the amusement park. It's a full of micment park. We thought it was closed and we just heard that that it's opened. So yeah, we're big. I mean z, that's a big amusement park. Guy too, I'm. Gonna do the roller coasters, go upside down, throw up some fun, try to catch it. I think you guys should play your set from the roller coast.
04 We'll see what the range is on my microphone. If it's if the wireless signal can reach there, how cool would that? It would be very windy, just be like like the. Hearing a thing. But you know how people like going on the crowd. Magine if you were like at the top of the first wheel, singing and people don't know where you were to be cozy, right something. If I was on like standing on top of it, but I knowing me, I'd get. Especially okay, especially if this happened. Okay, what you got here? That's the last one here, that's that fires wheel. Oh yeah, that's right, we got Do we get rained out from this location? Yeah? No? Different looking? Oh wow, my last year. Oh yeah, Louder to life. That's why Slayers playing today. Wow. I was sitting out in the parking lot when we got evacuated till like I almost got swept away because I want to go to fucking Slayers.
49 Yeah, I was sitting out. There and you got the vest and finally it was finally it was like two in the more bucking around like, oh, I guess. I gotta call it. Yeah, it's still worse. I know you want to hold out to the last possible second, right, finally, just dope. Just door song, yeah, play one song. Yeah, but now I'm looking forward to your set. Fuck Slayer, we gotta get you. A vested right, No, no, no, we like Slayer. You guys are cool. So tell everybody how they can get the new album, how they can reach out to you on socials, and most importantly, buy your merch because if they don't buy your merch, they can't listen my show. Oh well, that's very sweetie. Like, if you want to check out, we have a pre order going on right now with some vinyls and CDs and set it Off band dot com. But if you want to stream us, just look up set it Off on any of your streaming platforms.
32 Most recent song is Rotten. The new albums the self title comes on November seventh, and we cannot wait to drop this thing social media. So it's all at set it off. But yeah, come hen, come to a show. We're going on tour at the end of We're doing fall, end of October through beginning of December, and we're doing a full US, so it's gonna be. We're coming to Louisville. Are you coming? I don't live here, Yeah, where you're from? South Florida's where I live. South Florida where I'm from. Okay, yeah, fucking crazy. Okay, there's no Southworida this date. But if you want to drive up to Orlando, we're playing House of Blues. Oh I'll do Yeah, come on up. Our whole family is gonna be there. It's like that's like hometown for us. It's gonna be nice. Yeah, nice, I'll be there. You know the date, November twenty third. Wow, I'm just getting all kinds of. Dates today, like Market Down. Who was it from?
13 Ashes the News playing in Lauderdale on the fourteen? Oh hell yeah, I'll go from their show to your show. They put on a great show. It's gonna be awesome. I love it and I love that you're here, Louder than life. Is there anything else you want to tell the listeners that we haven't covered already? Well, just who else is on the tour? Because it's gonna be an amazing show from top to bottom. So it's us headlining. We got Fame on Fire, we got Vona, and we got the Pretty Wild, so it's gonna be energy none now. I'm definitely Oh dude, Yeah, I freaking love the previews. They're great. Fame on Fire, I'm friends with, like close friends with one of the mother's awesome. That's sweet. They're great guys. We can't wait to hit the road with them, and during football season two, so that'll be a good time. So we can see the Giants kick the Eagles ass good luck. I know this year probably so this year I got Jackson Darget. I give you guys, kudos. Man.
03 I root for you to lose big time and you want it. Two years ago. I don't I understand. I have to talking about the band for a second, and I was like, you were rooting for us to lose. That's crazy. I really wanted you to fail. And you just keep doing well. I know, you come out with this new album and it's too good, annoying, like, oh my god, you're at lower life. I have to fucking see you that bother than life, Oh my god. And I have to have fun at it. Yeah, that's you're required. Yeah, well you guys get easy. You guys rock And thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man. Thank you for having us. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of pipe Man on w for CUI Radio.
