04 Hey, you listening to such Sure, I'm coming. I'm for see why you wake up of America. It's time for the Adventures. So pipe Man on w f c Y dot com West Palm Beats, his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man more lay talking, diving in the place. I'm talking to me with us, you're not. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man w FORC Why Radio and I'm here with leaping a care of Yeah here at Bloodstock. I have to say right off the bat, you're out with one of my colleagues out there before and I after the interview, I said to him, I'm like, you know who he looks like? Being you? You remind me of the singer of Anti Flag. Okay, Okay, he doesn't have the mohawk, but the look looks the same. So I was like, well, that's cool. So I already felt like I knew you, well, yeah, in another life. So tell us a little bit about your music, you know, not from a genre bullshit label, lock you into all this fucking

41 crap, no spield, just you as an artist, what you think your music is? And said what some record label or somebody wants to tell you it is. It's just high fucking energy, inflant energy, Like do you if you want to stay at home with a quiline and don't listen to us, start playing bands. You can listen to you if you want to get up, have fun, see your friends party. We're in the band. And and also again it sounds like really cheesy, but we're like, it's I sing a case. We kind of sound like like a party band. They need the lyrical content. It's where you like from the heart and articulate. I love that because you know, I know what you're saying. There a party bands like really good but then a lot of times a little bit faculous. Yeah yeah, it's not meaning, you know. Like a perfect example. It's one of my favorite lyricists is Ali from Bringing in the Horizon, because that those lyrics. I don't care if you like the band or not, those lyrics have a lot of fucking meaning. And you can hear it when he sings. You hear that those lyrics come from somewhere and you know why and you probably do the same thing is he's singing from his own perspective and then you put your own meaning to it. He's not trying to sing from the audiences perspective. Yeah, yeah, you need that, you need that level of one in sincerity. Yeah you don't be real, that bravery of like you might not like it, but it's not. It's not about you, it's about me. It's how I feel exactly. And when you hear that, that's where the real connection is made, absolutely, because you come across real and authentic instead of trying to sell something exactly that,

17 exactly that. So I love that. What brought you the blood? Start admitting that your vehicle a collection of skateboards because I'm a New Yorker, That's how I would answer it. So what was the road that led you here? And I don't mean like, let's let's feel so we were I've been hogging all right, So we're back in what year was it? She does twenty sixteen? We did the New Blood stage, which is oh, sorry, gun. We were lucky enough to be part of aithicle Metal to the Masses. Yeah, it's like, I guess it's kind of a battle the bands. I guess that's why I see it as right, And we were lucky enough. We we we succeeded in that and we won that and through that, we're able to get our first stage at Bloodstock. Yeah. See that's the thing that I love hearing. That's why I hear the road because listen, you started off winning this thing and and luckily enough to be at Bloodstock, and now you started the main stage. So that's fucking amazing.

23 Well that's that's the wonderful thing about the people of Bloodstock and the community about Bloodstock. It is really about developing artists and fans. And you can track how well we've done through our you know blood Stock Yeah, you know gigs, you know. So we are incredibly grateful to this festival and the people that run it. And like there's a lot of persons that talk the talk in regards so now we're trying to do about you're not oh yeah, you just you just want people through the door. Yeah, but blood Stock actually has there's a sense of integrity and family and community. And again you can see that with things like the Social Lancaster stage. They care. You know, I cover a lot of festivals. I love this one the most because exactly that they care and tell me if I'm wrong. They fucking treat the artists right, which most festivals don't. So that's important to me. The experience here is always just it's seamless, it's friendly. Everything about it is just well organized, like it's a pleasure and you don't you don't feel stressed, you don't feeling the pressure that, you don't feel like you're being abused.

27 It's just it's amazing. It's kind of like the people running it are acting as if they were the artists and how they would want to be treated. Let's say, with me in radio, it's like when I do interviews, I think about if I were the artists, how would I want the interview to be? And I certainly want when when I hear sixty times, how did you get your band name? So no, it's that won't come up at all at all. I like stories. That's what people want to hear, you know. So speaking as stories, what's the crazy easiest thing that's happened in your musical journal? Craziest thing that's happened. I mean it's so far I think. I don't know if you call it crazy, but just being here, being part of the main stage is blowing my mind.

11 Yeah, you probably have a much better answer than the stories of I think it was. It was pretty me being in the band anyway, it was one of the singers get it climbing up into a PA speaker and then not being able to get down. You know, I would have loved to have seen it, but yeah, apparently he was on this top of the speaker just he couldn't get his footing to come off, so he was kind of like still trying to perform with kind of tiptoeing off the edge. And one of the guys, like a friend of the band that was actually he was over in Europe. One of the friends of the bands was there. He had to come on stage and help the guy help sing it down. A big guy in big trouble. Because I'll tell you, in the stage there's two bands have climbed up you know those like high scaffolding things at us Dige, they climb up to the very top, and I'm even looking at him like fuck that. Yeah, yeah, like Jason from Fever three three three he does that ship all the time, and I'm like and then he's like holding on with one hand and with the mic. I'm like, fuck that.

16 I don't even trust the scaffold to even forget me, you know, And then there went this was funny. Another band, Joyous Wolf, played and literally he got kicked out of the venue for doing that. Yeah, Like the people riding the vessel are like, you're out. Wow. Luckily they already played, but that is that is pretty fucking metal though, to do that shit, I do have a kind of it, like my very first my very first kick of the band, my very first kick of the band. We having a good time, kicks handy, just going quite which do not that sort of something in a new relationship. Get a laft up, it's amazing. She gotta put up a piece and there's a blessed let's just go fucking annoyingly drunk as fuck on the floor of the pizza and people are like walking by her. I I'm like going, hey, down, keep it going, You're okay, And she looks me dead in the eyes.

16 It kicks me in the fucking head. Holy shit. Wow's the best introduction to being in the spot, like an ever aspital. There you go, that's that's your initiation exactly. They probably paid her to do that. Yeah, hey, listen, you can't plan shit like that, you know, That's just something you have to experience. You can't even tell people that, like it just had to be there. Some people just don't don't don't have this, like know what, it's like. I got kicked in the face of toy having a pizza. Everybody drunk over the floor. This isn't make up. This isn't make up, right, you know what? I was married to a British girl that sounds like a typical British girl. Yeah, cool, bless him, no doubt. She used to be like this, acting refine, like hoity toity English girl, because a lot of them that come over the States they act like they're like royals. Really, she was from Newcastle. I didn't know what Newcastle was. I do now, but I didn't then. And then she would become this fun party girl and then fifteen Margarita's later there's the psycho Newcastle bitch Shorty last. Yeah, yeah, I don't even want to me relationship without the physical violence, I know, right, Yeah, I think it's kind of funny. Like there's been times where you know you're with somebody and they start doing that shin I just

50 you know, cover up like a man boxing match, and you can't help sometimes what kind of laugh because they're beating on you and you're just sitting there going, yeah, that's pretty funny, and then it pisses them off even more. Oh man, See, you didn't think you'd have this much fun in an interview, right, I don't love it. I keep forgetting we're having an interview. I know. See that's the way it should be. That's if I were on your side, that's what I would want. And if I were on your side and they asked me, oh, did you get your band name? I would literally just get up and walk away. I wouldn't say a fucking word. I would just get up and walk away and just look at the look on the person's face. It's a bit of a crush, like where did you get you on this from? I know?

43 Right? The fuck is this is what you do for a living, and that's what you thought of. I know exactly the research right right? Oh man, it's gonna take a life of its own. Man. That's how you find out what you guys are really passionate about. And the way I look at it, say it all the time is this is the worst fucking part of an artist job. Okay, You're going around the thirty people and they're all asking the same boring fucking questions. So I don't want to be known for that. I want to be known for it. To get off the airview and like, wow, thanks, that was the most fun airview ever. Because either you just got off stage or you're going on stage. You don't need to be put to sleep. It's that simple. We're here to have fun. Exactly why else are you a musician? Musician?

28 Completely, so tell everybody how they can connect to you guys on socials, on the web, by your merch most importantly, yes, that's only when you scribe Facebook. I don't want to eat the mike. Yeah you do want eat the mate. Yeah. Facebook is the main place which will connect you to everything. We've got a links tree so that's link tree, dot Com, Forward Slash Steven Akira that will give you links to all the YouTube merchandise which is band camp but also Spotify, iTunes stuff that. There is also an American store so that you know this is over there, say's American store for our label fixed and then you have some cool merch on there which would be able to get hold of. But also we've got the UK store which is the band camp again big big cast hell sorry and Big Cartel as well. Just Google it with that they're that great receiving a curas on the planets. And you can buy anywhere in the United States and Florida because we're assholes in Florida. But I will still let you buy, but he's still charge you double. I heard so many stories about Florida. Oh my god, they're all true, like the fact that, like Florida Man, it's almost like an urban myth. Now like this this is just this one crazy fucking guy called Florida Man. Like every time there's a headline Florida Man punches alligator in front, it's the same dude. So there's so many like that.

52 There were my studio where she's passed away. Now the name of the city is Wellington, and was the Wellington Witch, and it was really trippy because she would just ap peer out of nowhere and she wasn't a witch, but she just dressed really fucking weird and she would just appear out of nowhere, and she would walk all over town like she didn't drive, and it was like all of a sudden, she's there, and then she's gone, and then he turned around and she's there again, and we're like, what the fuck is going on? I kind of do you want to visit Florida and a kind of a scary like extreme sports kind. We have two other really extra special people in Florida. And when I say special, I mean like special, like you know that special, you know, not good special.

45 Okay, one of them, Uh, he's Orange Man, you know Orange Man. Yeah, we have one of those. Yeah, you know it. Orange Man as an asshole. That's why his name rhymes with rump, which in American means ass And then the other one is our our great governor of the state. Is that No, no, no, no, that's that's why. That's years ago. We wish we had Bush now, but Bush would be a liberal now, okay, this is that. We call him death Santists because and he is. And some people call him Aidolf Santists because he's just like Aidolf Hitler, Like wow. He removes books from school. No teaching in black history, nothing in school referencing LGBTQ at all.

45 You know how you got You were in school and your teacher would have bookshelf with books. You can if you liked reading, you can bring them book Not anymore teachers do that without him personally approve it. You get fired. And teachers in the United States don't get fired after a certain period day of what's called tenure, which means you can't fire him for pretty much any reason. But these idiots, these fascist idiots, are changing everything so you can do those things. So yeah, it's it's a scary time to be It was weird. Man. It was like some aspects again really progressive that it was good, but almost like there's other aspects that are pushing equally hard the other way. And this was like everything is bipartisan now. And and actually, I think social media is a big thing to blame for that because it's that fucking like it's like, oh do you like it? We don't like it. It's black and white. Nothing's so fucking hateful on social media exiety because like, even it's so performative. It's even TikTok during COVID was like the fun escape from the assholes and Facebook, and now TikTok has become the same way. You know, it's ridiculous. And if this doesn't tell you something, Ronald Reagan's son said, if he was alive today, he'd be a liberal in our political system. It's terrifying, you know, so imagine we're hoping for Reagan and Maggie Thatcher to come back so we could have a more progressive world. Holy fucking shit, right, and I know you guys are having the same fucking problem over here. Yeah, so we need music to drown out these fucking idiots, and your music we'll do that for

22 us hopefully. I mean, like what, like I think COVID like I had a real impact on how we perceive what we do. Yeah, because we saw like people around us DC, people just oh, I have friends, lifelong friends, and I won't fucking talk to like they're whacked down in their mind now, like they I respected them before and now it's like, you better go get some meds because you're fucked up. We kind of aim for our music like just to we want people to put it on a smile. We want people to come to our shows and have the biggest grin on their face and want you to have the time of your life and escape all that bullshit we have in the world, because it's just making us more depressed, more anxiety, read in, more angry. Like we're one race, the human race. Let's just have a fucking good time because otherwise life's miserable if you're not for us like we we try and for however long we're playing, half night, fourth of minutes now when we start playing, what we want is for everyone that just to forget about the bullshit outside those doors.

25 That's what you've got. You've got a release for However, we're not gonna think about I want to deal with it. We're gonna have great, great fucking time with people. Not all of us are going to be the same, and that's fine as well. Yeah you know, and which shouldn't be the same, but we should all get along and respect each other and not be a bunch of assholes fuckingly and abusive to each other. Completely agree, So tell everybody how they can reach out to you again, and and any final words you want to leave our listards with that we haven't covered, or things you have upcoming that we haven't talked about. Okay, So yeah, so again link tree a colin force. I see the key that will point you towards all the socials we're on, all the platforms you can get our media from, and also stores that you can get our merch from. We're gonna So we've just finished recording a latest album which we're going to do a couple of singles releasing this year, so watch out for that, and then we're going to drop the album at some point next year. So just keep your eyes peeled on us. Add to see your playlists and stuff like that.

25 Give us the you know, point zero zero zero sense and whatever on Spotify. That's greatly appreciated. But keep your eyes open. Then we you music. Hope you love it. Use it as your outlet, you know, if you're if you're if you're angry, if you want to have a good time, just to put our music on. Just let loose. That's what it's all about. That's what that's what music is about. The best therapy there is for you guys under the ears and from me as a listener. So I thank you for doing that for us, especially here at blood Stock, and thanks for being on the Adventures of plate Man. Thank you for your time. Man, Thank you very much, it's been a pleasure. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of pynmin im W for CUI Radio.
