04 Hey, you have done to censure? Wow crazy you wake up America. It's time for the Adventures of pipe Man on W four C why dot Com wis pomp Beach is number one Internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man.

45 There is more to this sign No, you can make it. You will choose. This's the pipe Man here on the Adventure fip Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here with. Chris and Bo and we're from the band Sayosin also known as say Ocean, also known as Saushan, also known as Shooshan, also known as Soison. I love it. See I love when bands give me the names instead for two reasons. They do it much better than I do, and I don't have the opportunity to butcher it.

28 There we go. Yeah, how much I did? I did? There is a there's a band from Mexico and they're called say Ocean. I'd be hard pressed to say they weren't. They didn't think about our band? Yeah, I know that was wrong. How many for them? How many times have people interviewed you and like, never said your name right? Well, we don't necessarily have a right way to say it, so I think that. That's what it's like. It easier for us and the interviewer because they then whatever whatever you say is what it is. Yeah. See, like I could go to Seo Sin. Yeah. I think where it gets tricky is when you're starting to search it right, because then if you say it weird, then you're gonna start typing in weird stuff.

15 It's like Louisville because I don't know if you know this, So first of all, I still can't say it right. I'm from the northeast. I grew up saying Louisville. Yeah, that's the way you don't say it here. Okay, is it Louisville. It's got those l's in it. Yeah, it's Louisville. Louisville. Yeah, it's like that double L sound that isn't even in but not to. Be confused as like the Spanish doublell of. Like a no no no no, okay, yeah no it's not it's not you'llville. Yeah, I don't. I don't even know how you would do that. But there are actually shirt a shirt I got one year at later in life. It has all the ways to say it for people here, and there's like ten different ways to say it, just like you were saying your band name. None of them are louisvill Bill. But I did hear a new one today from Siri or yesterday I was driving and the GPS said Lewis Villa and called it Lewis Villa.

12 So it's sell Ya is the phonetic correct phonetic way to spell it? Yeah, so now it's Louis Villa Kentucky. There you go. So I wonder what Siri would say about your band. Name, tricky? What do you think, Bo? What do you think Siri would? We could ask? Let's do it, Let's ask Siri. Okay, I don't even know how we would ask Siri either. Hey, Siri, tell us about the band seosin. Here's some info about Sausan. Oh, she doesn't have a nice nice Australian.

57 Sayson says yes. Say it says is an American rock band formed in two thousand and three in OC, California. It says Orange County, but I had to say OC. The group originally consisted of. There we go, So there it is. We consider ourselves member fluid. There you go. Yeah, he just had a return this year too, right, Yeah, tell us about. That, Bo, tell us the timeline of the shift in sales and four point oh, we're calling it SOS and four point oh. I love it, man. I would you say it was maybe last year when we were in Australia. I think we started talking with Cove again. We'd like briefly or shortly been talking with Cove.

41 I don't think it was ever like a It didn't feel like a bad breakup to me. Yeah, And then yeah, when we. Were in Australia, he was just like we got more in touch again, and then you know, we both expressed some interest in doing some shows together. And then we did a show, a twenty years anniversary show at the Garden Amphitheater in Orange County where we're from, and we had both of our so we had Cove and Anthony come out and do like half a set with Cove, half set with Anthony and it turned out awesome. So it was really cool. And then when we were playing with Cove that night, it was like, man, this feels great. We should do more of this. So yeah, So now we're in the season of playing with Cove right now and it's just it's feeling really good and it's really fun for us because we haven't been able to play a lot of the self titled songs in a really long time.

30 Wow. So now we're celebrating coming up on twenty years of that album, and that. Must blow your mind in and of itself. Twenty years, it's insane. I was just talking to a friend who plays in another band that's been around almost as long as us. We were joking around, like, man, are we going to be around in another five years or whatever? And something that he said was like, thinking back when we first started, did you ever think we were going to be around for twenty years? And I was like, oh, I didn't even think I was going to be alive when I was in high school for twenty years. Same so so yeah, So I guess at the end of the conversation that left me feeling hopeful that we could potentially do this for another ten to twenty years. It is way cool. Who knows. I love it And it seems to be like a lot of OC punk bands from my day, even from like the.

17 Eighties, are back in big playing now. And I think the bands well like just had at punkin Park, had Dead Kennedy's t s O L Hunting the Beach right, Yeah, I was just at riot Fest Circle Jerks played. I don't know, because I had a bad weekend last weekend, like bad that. I miss a two days. I made it. Actually, my grandson passed. Oh no way, I'm so sorry. Yeah so, and I used to tick bring him the festival. He interviewed bands, I throw him in his first mosh pit ever and stuff like that.

57 But I'm gonna honor him this weekend. We are honoring him, for sure. And it's pretty wild, like to even think of some of these bands that probably shouldn't have made it a year, yeah, that are still here forty years later. Well, especially those punk bands too. If you think Black Flag and all the iterations they play that riot fests like they've had way more many, way more member changes than Saosen has. And for us, it's like to think about it as like such a big deal. But then you think about bands like Black Flag, I think Mike Valley's singing now, yeah, it's like Greg and Mike Valley, and then I don't know who else.

38 And I only even imagine that Dead Kennedy's without Jello. Correct, but he's not even in no and hasn't been forever forever. They I think they suit him yeah, yeah, it's like weird. Yeah it's weird, but. Yeah, it's it's a good point that you bring up, because in our minds it's hard for us not to get caught up in like mains, like not that we ever strived for ultimate mainstream success, but like you you see bands, like especially coming out of the nineties, right, there was so much one hit wonder mainstream success. Right yeah, and then so so. We were kind of always an undertied genre. None of us were all the bands even at the biggest point. We're never as big as Journey or right.

20 Any of the bands that you in the nineties. But now we're coming back into our own I call it our classic rock era. But yeah, to your point, it's like there's bands that were like even more unlikely and they're still playing forty years later. So I think that's like promising for us, because we're just like we thought we'd be one and we'd be one and done in four years, right, and here we are twenty years later and people are like still showing up. People are our age people younger. Amazes me when I see how many kids nowadays have Misfits shirts on, and not just because it's a trendy shirt to wear. Yeah, it's because they actually liked the band. Well, I would even say back just a few years ago, it was trendy, right, and now it's it's I think bands like Deftones are something where they have like this crazy, weird young fan base all of a sudden.

12 To me that's like, oh, there's like cycles perhaps. And I sit there and think, I'm like, how do they even know these bands? The kids? So it's kind of fucking cool. Good for them. For fine, I mean, it's hope for the ability to find and discover new music even though it's old. Yeah, totally. I think about now, like all these bands that play these festivals and headline When I was a teenager, I would have never gone to see bands that were that old. Yeah, Like they were all my age. Yeah. I went to Slayers first show ever, they're like two years older than me. Metallica I went to their first show ever, also around my age. And you take these other bands that we're talking about, the OC bands also my age, and like just it kind of blows my mind because I would have never gone to see a bunch of fifty year old's played music.

06 No. With that said, I went to a festival last year and it. Was called power Trip and Familiar. Yeah, and so it was Metallica, Guns n' Roses, Judas Priest Iron Maiden told PC and granted, I like to say most of those bands have never sounded worse and they're never gonna sound better. A lot of them sounded great. It was awesome. I'm so glad that we got to see Brian Johnson singing ACDC songs at seventy two years old, right, But I thought the exception there was the fact that Danny Carey is like sixty four years old and he's playing like he's thirty two. Playing the drum was like he's thirty two years old, So that to me is like promising also.

03 Being a drummer, I think, as all the all the parts of the band, that's the hardest one to stay young. Yeah, it's older than Lars. It takes all the energy. Yeah, crazy to think, probably better than Lars. What. I I love Lars. I do love that I get to see him, but but it's hard to compare him to Danny Carey because Danny Carey is just. Like a and of one, Yeah, anominally human, no doubt player. No doubt, and my hat's off to anybody that can play drums because I played for nine years and I still sucked. Yeah, so I wish I could play drums.

44 And there's a band that played today that the drummer sings that even blows my mind anymore. We just watched them, Brutus, Yeah, Brutus. They're one of our favorite bands. Yeah. See, like fucking like I, I just have to bow to her because how the hell do you play drums and sing at the same time. Wow, just blows my mind and be good at both. It's hard enough to play guitar and sing. It's hard enough to just be a singer. That's true too. I tried that too. I was a flash metal singer, but I wasn't doing it right, so I fucked up my bow. Wishes he could be a singer. He wish he could be the front man.

25 I tell you what Oasis is coming back. Yeah, I can't wait to see what happens on stage. I've been waiting for that. I saw Oasis in ninety seven. I was a huge into like the British Invasion when it came over. So like Oasis, blur, ocean color scene, like any sort of thing that was coming out of like UK. At that time, I was super into it, and now coming back, I don't I feel like, did you buy tickets or no? No, they're impossible. I think I think now in recent events, I think the next tour should be James Addiction and Oasis. Dude, James, Wait, was it James Addiction that just had the crazy thing with.

06 That's why I'm saying that. Yeah, no, I think yeah, And it's like the ultimate fighting Championship for bands on stage. It could be like the Ultimate Deathmatch Tour. Yeah, and then who's the other one? Puddle of mud? Is that some on stage explosions? Yeah? Yeah, what we did? What if we did a lineup right now? So we did Oasis a festival, Let's do Oasis, Jane's Addiction, who's the band a Surge Tansen, that guy the. Guy that won't tour with his baby, oh system. System of a Down and some of a of a Down? And then maybe we'll have the rock band one where Sebastian Bach was the singer, not his real band, the one that was like the MTV show.

49 The super group. Oh, we were just talking about this and we should have them open. Or how about the headliner could be Iron May then with Bruce and Paul Diano both. Oh my gosh, who I think Bruce would kick his ass? Right? Bruce is very fit, still very capable, and he fights Eddie every show. Yeah, so there you go. Yeah, yeah, very sick. So now how do they reach out to you? On socials on the web so they if they want to fight you. Yeah, we'll be staging the first ever fight the band tour next year and that can be found at saosin spelled s a O s i n dot com. We also have Instagram, saoson official. There's a guy somewhere in Thailand or something that has the original saosy.

44 We'll give it to us. That's terrible. Shout out to Bank Apton is his name? Bank? There's another on stage fight. Yeah, we'll fight him. And uh yeah, that's pretty much where we function the most, just those two places, and that's the best place to find us and find out more information about us. And then obviously all the streaming services were all over. And buy your merch because they can't listen to my show if they don't buy merch. Buy the merch at seosin dot com. Yeah, there it is got a couple good a couple of goodies, and we. Do some some drops every once in a while on significant days. We've had a couple of seats and desists for good too, good. Of merch designs. I like it.

24 Yeah, so yeah, that's pretty much it. Cool. Well, you guys rock. I'm glad you were here at lard in Life and thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man. Thanks pipe Man, Thank you for listening to the Adventures of pipe Man on w for CUI Radio.
