04 Hey, you have done to censure? Wow? Crazy you why become of America. It's time for the Adventures of White Man on W four c Y dot com West Pomp Beats, his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, The White Man, The Better Fight, Davish was Dead, China Chicken, look them the You're flight. I don't know, I'm in the I don't know. Yeah, you know how a candle list. It's pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio Interview Part two with Red Star here right after Shock. Right, you know what I gotta say, though, you should feel honored because normally I won't do like one festival after another because like, what else is there to talk about, like type of thing, And a lot of times bands don't want it. And there was one other band that also asked me, and I said, I gave the same response I gave you, and they're like, yeah, well maybe you're right. I'm like, okay, but yeah, And so for that reason it's why I'm like, yeah, I should interview them, because they got more to say. Yeah, So now what more do you have

36 to say besides how hot this fuck it is? Here after Shock, time of our lives man like dream come true for me, especially like huge stage, huge bands. How this ship on the West coast. Man, I couldn't be happier. This is what I want to do and you even have to after Shock bracelet, Yo. So after we played, went down to go thank some people you know, on the barricade over standing in the heat and sweating their asses off with us, and this girl like made these bracelets and said you gotta have it. You're right, it is the new thing. Like somebody made one that said media crew for me and one that may said pipe man Like, Okay, I gotta wear it. You made it for me. But it is cool, it's awesome. What else do we want to talk about about, you guys that we didn't get to talk about last time you got going on. I don't remember what we talked about last time. It was just a couple of weeks ago, wasn't, I know?

31 Right? It all like floats in your head, right, yeah? But you know, So here's what to talk about louder after Shock? Which one did you like better? See? That's a hard one, this one after I mean, they're both, they're both amazing, but this one and the reason I mean, look, we got we were on the Shockwave stage. We were on the Shockwave stage opening that and then just this morning after Shock posted that they moved us to the main stage. Nice because Corey Taylor had to cantle, you know. So that's one of those things that that's never a bummer. That's just not only that's an amazing thing to put on your resume, but when you go out there and just kind of like slay it, like you're you know, for all intensive purposes, you're you're you're setting off the main stage. That's why Corn's playing three elevens and all those people that are sitting there all day long just to wait for Corn are there for your show. Well, and that's the thing for me, Like I'm always a fan of music, I'm always a fan of my predecessors, and getting to share the space with them, Yes, comrades, like respectable comrades, Like that's that's the epitome, you know, of reaching your new achievements.

45 Man, and doing that here with the dopest people. You don't want to stop. So I can't say which one's better, but it just keeps getting better, you know why. I like this one better? Back here? Okay, this is a fucking coys media place. Ever, I I do so many festivals, but look, we got couches, we got seats. All the artists want to be back here, which normally they don't want to be in the media. Ten free alcohol drip bar and a scoremet chef making us food. And the misters. You got the cool misters by the front, the misters, and you know what, I like the screams because I get stuck back here. I can't see sets. So sometimes I'm doing interviews and the band I wanted to see is up there, so I'm like watching that while I'm doing the interview. I think the only thing that's missing is maybe like a little swamp cooler or some kind of thing into the coolest place now. A pool, Yeah, exactly, we need a pool back here. Yeah, an above ground pool everybody can just jump and do.

43 Oh that I would just filter fuff just especially this right, Yeah, especially it's hot. You know you need a pool. It's funny at Louder Life. Were you at the after party on Saturday night? No, because we played Sunday. We got there the next day after we heard Killer Mike set it off and we missed that. The reason I was bringing that up because you know what's funny about that ship? Ninety percent of the people there did not know he was in Run the Jewels. Oh really, of course not. It was too fucking funny. Cats went up on stage. They made a joke, they said, we're your token rappers for the festival. I was fun Oh right, Isaac, Oh my god, but it was so funny. How many it would be funny? Like, oh shit, he like they see up on stage, like, oh my god, I could have talked to him last night, but I just saw it was just some DJ, right of course, Oh my god, So what you got coming up after after shock? We might have said this last time, but we'll just this is the kind of stuff that you can repeat. There you go.

48 So we're going on tour with the Killer's Confession and Buff Snakes. Oh Midwest, I'm gonna hit one of the great places. You know what you know? You remind me of Whaling like looks wise really yeah, like a younger verse, a younger verse, but you know, without all the it's kind of like you guys could be related. Yeah, maybe we are. You never know, you never know. We're gonna rock with those cats. We also have some leading shows they are gonna be those aren'tn ounteps, so I don't want to. I don't wanna uh jinx those Yeah, that was smothering. And then uh, new music music. I think we might have brought up last time we're here. We got a new we'll have a new track coming out, and then uh we'll go home. See what next tours we're gonna be on next new music. I mean, this is the kind of thing that you don't really take any breaks until you finally make it.

43 And then when you finally make it big, you shouldn't take any breaks because you could douse the fire of finally making it right exactly, Well, really it's just figure for the rest of your life, you're not taking a break. Like look at Ozzy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, well you know, poor thing, poor Ozzie. It's like he's forced to stop now and he doesn't want to know. You know. I think if he doesn't performed, he will and that's what's been keeping him alive all this year. Yeah, you know, because he says he wants one more show. Yeah, and you know how it is. That's an artist, Okay, Like if you're doing this your whole life and then all of a sudden, you can't do it anymore. What would your purpose be anyway else? Is there? Right, it's the same athletes go through the same thing. It's exactly very hard for them to walk away from there. You know, they stay a couple of weeks. That's why boxers do what they do. You know, it's hard. It's hard to feel like you can't do it anymore, right exactly. I mean, I think with music one of the interesting things is like hard music, heavy music, it's based on aggression, and you know, in the vocals, the vocals are based on on pretty being pretty, pretty strong and aggressive, you know what I mean. So as you get older, it's it's a little bit tougher to do, you know. Yeah, it's the reason why the Stones can keep doing what they're doing. Mick Jaggertan still sing the same way, it's seventy years old, because of his his range. You know, he's not a high singer. I feel you on because I was a teenager. I sang thrash metal. Sometimes on my show, I'll sing one song and I'm halfway third. I'm like, my throat's fucked because I never learned how to do it right either. So I'm like and I'm fucking up my throat. I'm like, yeah, I don't

13 know how somebody does that for three hours. Well that's and that's and to chime in on the benefit of like where we are now with everything that we achieve as we move forward, it's it's a new level of excitement, you know what I mean, Because yeah, when you've done playing a set, when you're done rehearsing or jam or whatever, you're tired as fuck. But then you're like, yeah, but then we get to do this, and then we get to do that, and then some noses came up, and then we got the main stage, like well shit, Like it's like, you can't always something look forward, so does them to look forward to? It's and it's cool. Like people ask me all the time, like, well, what's it like doing it when you're late, like making it further when you're later. It's like, bro, and there's no there's no slowing down unless I actually quit, And there's just no way that's happening. And you're always gonna want to outdo yourself, Well you got you gotta push yourself, but you gotta be smart too. It's like, uh, you know, kind of gone of those is getting all fucked up and being you know, like partied out, like it's you know, that's fun to watch back.

03 I mean, like I love the notion how wasted Aerosmith wash was. I was there and the Sunset Strip in the eighties with all those bands, like, well we okay, so what we did was you know, we said we went on at one thirty, right, I'm pretty sure it was one hundred and thirty degrees as well. Oh yeah, right, So if you're not in some fairly decent shape, even though you're just playing half an hour, you ain't gonna get through half of that. And and we're like a very active physical band, so we're jumping around. It's like when I was done, my legs felt like marshmallows, right, and I do this all the time, but it's just like it's even that much hotter that much say, so, you know, if you aren't keeping your ship together and keeping sound mentally and keeping sound as physically as you can, it's gonna be a short ride you And this is like we were just getting started. So yeah, you like Ozzie at this at this venture, I know, right, just you know exactly, you know, Ozzie was a part of the late sixties and seventies. You know, we're here now where it's like, oh yeah, we're drinking alcohol, but it's a seltzer. I know.

03 I get sure to hydrate with plenty of nice water and eating well and some lay out, you know. Or when I'm hanging out with my friend Rob the Basis of Godsmack backstage and instead of falling over like fucked up as all hell, like in the eighties, we're showing each other pictures of our grandchildren in their life. Phone probably doings like people think backstage it's like, ooh, I gotta go backstage, And that was true at one time. Now it's like I've taken people backstage and they're like, where's backstage. I'm like, you're in it. Well. The problem that happens too is like that stuff got exploited by like the vh ones and the shows like where you know, people saw that, and we're probably very embarrassed because those a lot of those women are grandma's now and families, and so you know, it's like, look, it's not like it's not it's not boring, like nothing happens, but you know, it's just different. Yeah, you know, so give out your guys, socials website, all that stuff. Final words we're everywhere are ed d s t r at Red Star music. I feel like this at this point out people can't find stuff online. They should uh yeah, they should take a rocket shipped outer space. Is that why we're sending me on there? Probably? Yeah? Probably probably. Yeah, Hey that's the pleasure. That's a trifecta. We interviewed with you three times this year with I Know, Rockville, Louder than Life and Aftershock we got the d w P thing. He knows all about that hat trick there it is.

28 I'm a huge hockey fan. Oh yeah, huge hockey fan. I coached hockey, played hockey and it was a season ticket, second row blue line for the Devils bro my the bantam hockey team. My coach came to our show what we played with. Uh, fame on fire. And you gotta be you gotta be a Deaycade parent when you coach hockey, because like my son, I coached him in hockey four am on Sunday, we're the games when it's freezing out and the sun's not even out. Yeah, it's like dedication, you know. And that's it's awesome you say that because we referenced in the band a sports and like the athlete and gladiator mentality. And if you are an athlete or if you have played sports man, if you can translate that to anything else you do, you're gonna be fine, you know, no doubt what here. The thing is with music and sports, right, rock music is a little bit more synonymous with sports. I would say, you know, especially metal, because metal and hockey to me go hand in hand. I want to crush people on the ice and then I want to crush there, and there's a there's a like mindedness that you know, some some artists are they're they're just that they're artists and they don't have the sports mentality. And I understand that, right yeah. But us it's like, you know, to whatever varying degrees, we've all been involved with the sports and off like that. So in a lot of ways that we we operate with our band like a team, you know what I mean? And then you're right it should be that way. Most artists think, you know, the artists is opposite an athlete, right, That's not true. And

01 listen, I played baseball for nine years. I played hockey, I played football, I played like all kinds of sports. And then I found metal, right, and there was yeah, and then I use that athletic ability in the mashpa. Yeah, that's the right That sounds like the right progression, right, Yeah, exactly. Well you guys rock I hope to see you again next festivals in twenty twenty four. You know what, Let's try to do four next year. Let's do it. That's our goal. I love it. Thanks Man, thanks for being on the Adventures by Thank you so much. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Fate Man on w for CUI Radio.
