01 This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four C Y Radio, and I'm here. With Point North. My name is John Andy Stage. Yes, here at Louder than Life. That's right, man. Like I look at bands and I like to look and. Pick out tattoos to talk about, and you guys got a shitload of them. I don't even know which one to pick first. There's a lot of tattoos. All right, I'm the least tattooed arguably so favorite. Let's go to him first favorite and least favorite tattoo you have. Favorite's probably my back. It's not even done yet because it hurts so bad. Really, yeah, I have to like it the. Most of the pain. Probably my favorite.
42 My least favorite, I don't I don't know. I have this one called missing file right here. It's kind of fading. I feel like it's like a metaphor. I don't know. Yeah, that one kind of looks like somebody just some girl took a pen and drew on you. Yeah, it's coming off, though, it's it's ironic that it's missing violin coming off. So that was that would be my least favorite. Yeah, man, I mean I think. I think one of My favorite tattoos is either like I have this one of like me and my dad fishing on the back of my arm, and then I'll always say, yeah, I'm watching that. I always say like the lantern. It was like my first big arm piece, and it was just kind of like, all right, I guess I'm gonna tattoo. Get to be a tattooed guy now.
27 So that was just kind of like the start. Oh that was such that was such the wrong answer. My favorite tattoo is my umbrella on my left arm. It's tattoos my wife and I got in Bali. There was a bar that was like you get a free tattoo with the with the purchase of a drink. So were I didn't see that when I was in Bali. We were, Yeah, we were on our honeymoon. We had just gotten married, and at our wedding it was pouring rain. So I got an umbrella and she got like an elephant because with the Thailand also, So that's kind of like my yeah, a little important piece there. I don't know if I have the least favorite, dude, they're all just they all just like mean a lot to me. Probably my elbow is my least favorite, which is humor because it's like a huge blaster.
09 I got it done in like Iowa or something, and the shop was like weird. This shop. Was that Greens where there was a coy pond in the tattoo shop. Yeah, now I wasn't saying I don't know. It wasn't the best. The guy took seven hours to do it and he was like scarring up my arm and but that's it for me. I don't know. So it's funny just to mention on a second, like you said, Bali, I don't have any tattoos, but I almost got one, Bali, because I was walking and there were just these cool heads that were doing the ancient type of tattooing with the sticks, and I was like, if I'm gonna do one, that's what I'm gonna do. And I was so close and I didn't pull the trigger.
50 I think travel tattoos like that are some of the coolest you can get, right. It's different than just like going into a shop at home, and like it's a way to remember the experience. And have a memory for it. So I support that for sure. Absolutely, I love it. So how about yours? I would say my favorite. I have a Kobe portrait on my leg that our friend Matia did in Switzerland, and portraits are so hard to do, and Matia just knocked us out of the parkeets. It's definitely my favorite. And I would say that my least favorite is probably the back piece that I haven't gotten yet, because I know that it's going to kick my ass and it's like one of the last things I just have left that I've saved until the end, and I am not looking forward to it at all. See, that's the part I wonder about. Like when people talk about how much pain it's gonna be, I'm like, how is that enjoyable?
36 It's not. And I use numbing cream and everybody makes fun of me for it and that's fine, that's fine, but it's just my thing. Well there you go. So Louder than fucking life, Yeah. First time I have a tattoo story about Louder than life today. Yeah today from Dead Poets Society. Yep, yeah, our buddies. Yeah. So I was talking to them earlier, but my photographer was out there and she's reporting for me, and so it. Was before I did the interview. She's like, Dead Poets is lead singer is gaining an as tattoo will performing. I'm like, that is the best reporting you've ever done for me. I'm like, send picks and so here we have it happening. There, it's actually happening.
28 And then Josh comes out and plays guitar because he could from Batflower because he couldn't play guitar. And then we got the final product that I pulled up during the interview. He's like, oh, I haven't even seen it. Oh yeah, what is it? Oh incredible, understand I don't even know. Yeah, I don't even know what it is, but it's some sort of cute little figure with a cowboy hat. Right, And so I got the scoop when I talked. He said, basically it was this tattoo has already started, okay, and his tattoo urist is here, so it's like, I'll just get finished while I'm here.
11 Yeah. We met those dudes on ship rocks this year at the Roulette table. Nice Jack and I played Roulette. Red nine hit like a motherfucker Reli's cruise ship Red nine, Me and Jack playing Roulette. That's how about the DPS guys? But their bands incredible? They played right, before us, So we got to watch their whole set and they're like, there are four different bands in one and they can kind of lend and bend their sound all around. And yeah, our friend produces some of their songs and just their incredible package. So shout out to those dudes for sure. See. I love bands nowadays because you guys can be yourself, like compared to back in like the eighties, where you had to be put in this tiny little box and you can only play this. I love that so many bands, the band members have different influences. You're not all the same, so it brings a unique sound because otherwise its just all sound, it's the same. Because there's so many bands nowadays, you need that unique sound.
03 And I think that's what you guys are too. Yeah, we're all very This is a very eclectic band as far as styles go. So yeah, we definitely love that about us. So here's a good question. What's the worst interview question you ever had? Like, what would you be if you were like a food? Like there's okay, there's a certain there's a certain like echelon of interviews that that first starts happening when you're a brand new band, when you're a brand new band, you go around you and you take interviews with people that are brand new interviewers, and they're usually very young, and they're very hungry and they're driven, which is awesome, right, but they I don't know if it's uh.
47 They're going through the learning curve and they're understanding like what a. Question is and and what's what questions hit and what's good to talk about, but they don't know it yet, and so they'll ask you like if you were like a jelly bean, like what would you be? And you're just like, I don't know, man, Like that's a that's that's my answer. I don't know. I thought of the same question when you asked that. So nice I would agree, yeah, yeah, it's unanimous, unanimous the most like random questions that mean nothing. Here's the best story though, Okay, because one of the worst questions most pete and band says interesting and so I used to a lot of times say to bands, I'm like, I don't ask you stupid questions like how you get your band name and name. One time August Burns Red said, well, you're lucky then, because we fuck with everybody that asked us that see that.
38 Girl next to you that just interviewed us. We make a different story up every time, and we do a complete straight face, and he goes, well, my sister she got this dog. We were teenagers. We named it August. We were out in the street partying, oh no, and we just decided, let's like the dog on fire and watch it run down the street. Ago August birds, they said, We said it was such a straight face. Oh my god, you had to look at the look at horror out face. I'm like, that's the best. Oh, that's funny. That's so messed up. But you deserve that if you're gonna ask that question. A lot of times it's just common sense. Other times it just doesn't even fucking matter.
21 Times it's just a name generator online or alone. Or sometimes it's just you're sitting around hanging out like an let's just fucking call it this because we can't think of anything else. Pretty much, what ours was? That's literally I think what ours was. In case you were wondering, that's pretty much it. I don't even give a ship, but that's a good answer. What I think of I think of weirdly enough, I think of surfing when I think of your name surfing, so. That lets say we're actually in the process of changing our name. The new band name is now Poorth. It's official. We've decided it's just pourth now. That would be so fucking funny. I would love that we say it on all of our Instagram captions.
03 Now we say it in the crew. It's like an inside joke, and now the fans are starting to say it and it's becoming like more identifiable than Point North because it's a very unique, one time thing. So I think you should do it. Yeah, it's poor for life, for sure. We'll make it official right here on the Adventures. Yeah, we'll get a settled out for sure. How do people reach out to you guys on socials, on the web, and most importantly by your merch because they can't listen to my show, and let's say, buy your merch. We are on all socials at the Point North band. That is Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, I guess X now it's x Yeah. Pointnorthband dot com is where all of our merch and tour dates are found. We're currently in the middle of our headliner, making our way back through the West Coast and the Midwest right now. And we've got Aftershock coming up in a couple of weeks too, to round out the Daniel Wimmer stuff for us this year.
54 A couple of festivals around up the year in general, and then it's on to new music and new stuff for next year. It never ends, dude. I will be at after Shock too, and I love that festival. Love after after Shock is one of my favorites. Just Rockville and after Shock for me, me. Too and Rockville. Okay, what's so cool about Rockville is that you're at the Daytona Speedway. Like, it's so fucking cool to drive on the Daytona Speedway. Yeah, yeah, it's awesome. I like to try to walk up it and you just can't. I don't know if I told you one of the last times, but I asked a person head to me. I'm like, I got my skateboard because I live in Flora. I'm like, I got my skateboard in my jeep. Do you think I'll lose my credential if I go skateboard on the speedway?
35 Yeah? And she said yeah, yeah, okay, I'll wait till after the festival. Yeah. That's smart, that's smart. That sounds awesome though, But that fucking wall. Yeah, it's like forty five degrees. I would never make it down the wall without breaking at least ten bones. Yeah. You can't even. Stand up there, you'll fall down. It's wild. How fast those cars going. Eighty five minimum to make it minimum to not fly. Yeah, you have to be eighty five minimum. Its like going with the doc back to the future. But the only way your make it to the other side is go eighty five miles per hour. Until you see that in person, the TV does not do it justice. You do not know how steep those It's unbelievable.
18 Yeah. Yeah, I wouldn't want to drive it, and I've driven some crazy shit. Yeah, I wouldn't want to drive it. Yeah. I mean I got to smoke a joint in the golf cart around the track, which is probably the coolest part of the festival. The hole, and you didn't invite me. I'm sorry, that's pretty fun. I'm sorry. That's my bad. Next year, that's terrible. Next year, after shock, after shock. Absolutely, yeah, we'll bring a wall in there. There you go, love it. Any last words, you guys want to leave the listeners with just. A huge thank you and yeah, We love talking to you man. Yeah, you can find us on at Point North band everywhere. All love the Internet, any kind of music streaming service. World versus Peace on Your single is out now and you can check that out.
