04 Hey you unto Yes, that's shirt. W cra you you. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures Pipe Man W four c Y Radio and I'm here. With and Johnny from Neil from Ogan. I like how your hat matches the Ogan shirt. Thanks Tony much color coordinated today. I know right, you need to put like an Ogan patch on the hat. And that's a cool Ogan shirt too. Yeah. I'd like to say that he planned that, but he didn't see if the first person pointed out, I know right.

47 And of course Black Sabbath. How can you not wait to block Sabbath? You know what I mean? The first two days of festival had Black Sabage shirts. On first day was it looks like the original album, the original Black Sabbath album. And yesterday when I got that download that they're selling here too, it's like a tied eye purple and pink with picture of Sabbath. It's pretty fucking cool. Yeah, sounds awesome, right, you could you got there, you could see it. But yeah, Black Sabbath man, can you believe we just saw their final show ever? Yeah, it's kind of unbelievable to just come to terms that Ozzie's no longer with us. He's no longer parts of this well, but he's left such a legacy of music with Sabbath and his solo stuff as well. So that's all we can do now, just listen back to that and remember the good times. And everyone's got a Sabbath story. Everyone's got a story about how Ozzy's changed their life. So even yourself, you weard in some mil you look in sunglasses.

44 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know It's funny, is I've had these sunglasses for years and I always call them my John Lennon glasses. And then, like I don't know, like a year ago, I was look at stuff. I'm like, wait a minute, they're aussy glasses. Well being Sky, we'll take both answers. I know, right, I do have quite a few Zsi stories for sure, because I saw him live every year since nineteen eighty, including with Randy Rhodes. Fantastic, And I think there's everybody here at Bloodstock, in every part of Bloodstock that is here because of Sabbath. And Zsie one hundred percent. Let's hear you guys first, AZZI your Sabbath stories.

28 So I fast saw Black Sabbath, I guess in a two thousand and five at Download Festival. I was actually in the signing tents with in Flames at the time, speaking Sanders, trying to get some stuff signed because I absolutely loved that band, and it was getting told off by them because they were like, Black Sabbath are about to start on the main stage. I was like, don't worry, I'm getting ready to run. That was my first time to see them, but yeah, nice. I don't really have any AUSSI stories. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to see him live though I was obsessed with him as a teenager. I just used to listen to them all the time and massive inspiration on me. I'll see I'm Black Sabbath, like, just huge inspiration. I've never seen. I never got the chance to see him live, unfortunately, but massive as he found because he always had amazing guitar players and I'm a guitar player, so big inspiration with Zack Wilde and Randy Rhodes and Jakie Lee. So I always listened to him. A massive fan. But as I say, sadly never got to see them live.

24 And how cool was it that Jakie Lee was at the final performance? You know, back to the game Jakie Lee performing like that blew my mind that he got invited to do it. They aren't spoken in god knows how many years. Yeah, I think they's fallen out with Sharon Adive over like previous things to do with the guitar riffs and royalties and all that good stuff. But yeah, it's good that he closed a few doors before he's closed the final one on himself. Yeah, totally. So how has your experience at Bloodstart been so far? It's absolutely epic as always Bloodstock and what a festival. It just feels like a real cool, family run place. A little bit busier this year, it has to be said, with the sellouts, whether or not the undrop capacity next year or keep it as is. Either way, it's still an absolutely epic experience.

11 It's not my. Face rodeo, but it is their face rodeo, so I'll let them have a few words. Yeah, it's my first time with Bloodstock, actually real first time, and we played yesterday, so that's just like crazy. What was it like real? What was it like playing? I think it's it's even now. It's still hard to describe, to be honest. It was just overwhelming, just incredibly had a full room and the new Blood scent. You didn't even expect that, did you. Not at all. I mean we were hoping for as much pete as many people as possible. We never could have dreamed of fill in the place. It was just absolutely crazy And yeah, it's just proper dream stuff for dreams. Basically, that's what I love about Bloodstock is because it's DIY, because of Metal to the Masses. They really promote the bands that are starting at out younger that don't have exposure all those things, and they make that the big deal.

08 Yeah yeah, yeah, sure, Yeah, that's an excellent thing that they've got in place for newer bands to try the stuff out for a new audience of Bloodstock. That's just absolutely amazing and long may continue. So we had a hell of a time, hell of an experience. We just want you know that to keep going. Tell us about your road to Bloodstock. Tell us how you ended up on that New Blood stage. We were the winners of the Mazy side Metal to the Masses. We had a tough route to the final with a lot of talented bands out of the city of Liverpool and the surrounding regions. We had both heats that we went through before winning obviously the final, the anticipation was absolutely insane when we were in there just waiting to hear the results. It was sound by our good friend Coop from the Spoken Metal show.

50 Prior to that, we already had this the crowd. Chanting our name, Ogan Ogan, So if we didn't win, that would have been really embarrassing for us. You know, we'll just be like standing there like all expectations. But yeah, it still didn't. Also, the fact that as soon as your name was officially announced that you are winning, you are going to play Bloodstock at the New Blood stage absolutely phenomenal. It's like a common theme too, go ahead. It's like a common theme about Bloodstock and metal to the masses. Like most of the bands I've talked to, all the bands I've talked to, they none of them expected to win, and those are the winners. Well, it's an amazing experience for us and we were thrilled to get through the final and actually being is the team come true? Really, as Danny said, I don't think it's actually sank in that we've actually played. It was such a great gig as well. The sound was great, the crowd was great, and we've thoroughly enjoyed it, but hopefully we'll get to play again at some point.

51 I think you will. I think you will. Yeah, just looking at the limited media that we've see in from our friends on their phone because obviously there's no signal of Bloodstock to send these he goes around. The tent was absolutely parked, and the sounders Neil's just mentioned was absolutely immaculate. What would you say is your favorite experience besides playing, of being here at Bloodstock. My experience for me personally is seeing a lot of people that just recognize me now from the band that was just played, and all my friends around the country who attend this festival year on year. It's a great time to see them all, hang out, give them a cuddle, have a good a few beers, you know how we goes, Just party and enjoy yourself. Basically that's me yourself done well.

38 I mean, this is my first festival in about fifteen years. Last time I went. To a festival was Downloads to twenty ten by Definite DC, ere A Smith all that kind of stuff. So just to be at a festival against the all our friends and stuff, obviously playing and then all of the like photos, videos, are friends and people who've been to see has been sharing. Like Andy said, walking around people are stopping you say, and you play great, your guys were amazing. That kind of thing. It's just it's just mental. It's absolutely mental, you know. We Actually another little crazy thing that happened was this morning somebody tagged us on Instagram and we were on BBC News Harborshire was a whole expo about Ozzy Osbourne and about Bloodstock.

18 They were covering Bloodstock. Festival and like just interviewing people from all around the site and then suddenly there was a clip of a band playing. And it was us. Woweo like a short clip of Antsy and a bit of one of our songs, and we were just like, what the hell, what the actual hell is that? That's that's absolutely incredible, Like so I think that it's probably the highlight for me. That's probably the like that's amazing. Other than playing, of course, how about you, Well, just the whole vibe of the festival really there's different places you can go. If you want to chill, you can go someplace. If you want to go crazy with some heavy metal, you go to this tent, you know. So and if you want to get some food, you know that that's great as well. So it's nice being able to experience the whole festival.

03 Really you could go get some Yorkshire pudding and. Pizza, which I love. You're putting the heavy. Metal, yes, So what else do you want the lizeners to know about you guys that's coming up in the future or whatever that they should look out for, and also give them your socials. Tell them out by your merch. They can't listen to my show and let's say buy your merch. Yeah, of course I've got bad Thanks so much so. All the socials are probably best access through our link tree, which is just a link tree lit url Forward, slash Ogan Underscore Liverpool, that's O g u N. They can find absolutely everything there with regards to our gigs and also our mechent ice. But to talk on the gigs that are coming up with supporting the troops are Doom on four days of the UK tour with our good friends and Devil's Henchmen who are doing the full tour with them. So that's going to be really good going on tour with your mates and also an ex member of someone from sepulchora.

58 What more do you want with that? There's also a local event in Liverpool called Scouts of Heaven, that bit of a play on words for the Sligher song, and that's going to be a non profit event. That's going to be a yearly metal event in Liverpool. So that is going to be absolutely amazing and hopefully that will grow and go from strength to strength and year on year because heavy metal is just alive and well in our city despite what people say. And since you're from Liverpool, I have a trivia question for you, a trivia question, he. Said, trivia question. I was like, I'm going to be Scout sosally. Yeah, they're from my neca of words, not Liverpool. Okay, what famous Bassis never was supposed to be a basis.

44 He was actually a guitarist and he drew the short straw and ended up having to be the basis. Paul McCartney, there it is, let's go. I gave you the Liverpool hint because most people don't guess it now. People when they lit when I say that, they listen you could hear he's playing in the bass like a guitar. So it's pretty amazing. All three of them, and he was the one. Okay, I'll have to play bass. Rock and roll to see what you gotta do. An't yet if it means being a Bassis, then saddy Joe. Hey, if you're a bit, there's worse things in the world than ending up having be the basis of the Beatles.

26 That is also very true. The Beatles are one of the reasons I'm here today. I love them. I was obsessed Wilmson's first grade and Ozzy was obsessed with the Beatles. Yeah. Absolutely, Honestly, it is snowdated to influence a lot of bonds that then went on to influence our generation as well. So so I mean, maybe people could argue that the Beatles started heavy metal. That's a long shop, but we'll go for it, all right. That'd be so funny. I actually had a scenario where a Carmine A Piece I did an interview and he said, I don't think Black Sabbaths to start at eavy metal. I think Metallica did. And that interview went.

07 Viral because like, what the fuck do you mean Black Sabbath didn't start metal? I mean, yeah, that's just crazy. You could argue many sources, but it's gotta be, you know, Tony Iomi and Asian the Boys, It's got to be. It has to be, no doubt about it. And yeah, there were many many bands around that kind of time to pave the way. They were like the forefathers of what eventually creates it's heavy metal. But I think for me and most people. Black Sabbath set the style of theme, the ready kind of made it scary and. Spooky, and the deeper guitar. Yeah, because Tony Iomi pretty much he changed it, did what other people were doing, and that's that time he's been a bit of a dark I'm all sinister away and that's definitely like who knew that would create an entire you know, a genre of music that's spine.

55 Blood stuck without Black Sabbath, No, no, and there's no bloodstock without Oga neither. Let's go. Thanks for being there on the Adventures by Man. Thanks so much, Thank you, Thank you man. Thanks jeez Mane. Michelle Kerr was my press officer for my entire fucking career here in the UK, my entire career. With Machine D. She recently passed away and it was a very very sad day and I can tell you the reason that I'm gonna tell this story is because she was family. She was Bloodstock family, she was heavy metal UK family.

39 Most of the. Bears that you know and love you probably heard of because of that woman right there. Slive Knots, Slayer, Machinehead, Trivium Kills. Which engaged Hey Breed, you name it. She helped lift everybody up, man. She helped lift everybody up, and in so many ways, she helped make this entire music scene, this incredible, beautiful community that lives here at Bloodstock, Man, she helped make it. So, ladies and gentlemen, please make some noise from Michelle Kerr.

21 Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Platemn on w for CUI Radio.
