On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to the band Nevertel, consisting of members Jeremy and Josh. They discuss the origin of their band name and their penchant for playful hazing and teasing within the band. Nevertel emphasizes the importance of having fun and enjoying the music-making process. They talk about their individual backgrounds, hailing from various locations such as Maryland, Florida, and Georgia, and how their unique perspectives contribute to the band's dynamic.

The conversation then shifts to the recent political feud between Disney and the governor of Florida, which Pipeman finds amusing. Nevertel jokingly suggests creating a TikTok series depicting a fictional battle between Governor DeSantis and Mickey Mouse. They reminisce about the animated series "Celebrity Death Match" and discuss how it has been replaced by real-life politics.

Pipeman and Nevertel then delve into their experience at Welcome to Rockville festival. They express their gratitude for being given the opportunity to perform on such a big stage and the overwhelming support they received. Nevertel shares how they were discovered through a Twitch live stream by DWP Presents and were quickly invited to play at the festival. They reflect on the risks taken by fellow artists who crashed the parking lot at another festival and praise the old-school approach of gaining attention.

Finally, Nevertel acknowledges the impact of DWP festivals in providing a platform for emerging bands and highlights the stories of successful bands that started out in a similar way. They express their hope to continue growing as a band and look forward to announcing new shows and working on new music in the future.

The Adventures of Pipeman is...

0:00 Hey, you love them too, that's sure. I'm come from four see why where you wake up America. It's time for the Adventures of Pipeman on W four CWY dot com west Poon Beaches number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. It's shot a sometime gets Never see the Magi. Now, this is the pipe Man here on the adventure Spike Man W FOURCY Radio, and I'm here with Raoul from neverte Alec from neverto Jeremy and Josh. You guys didn't say never Tell. Yeah, I think I started that off. Yeah, you started off well, he continued, and they're like, fuck it, I'm not doing that like it was repetitive at that point. I feel like by the last one you'll be like, oh my gosh, we get it. You're from Nevertell. We're never gonna be able to tell whether the audience liked it or not. So I do have to tell you something funny. And I was telling your tour manager before,

1:32 and it's so funny because you guys seem to do the same thing. He said. But I was doing like a quick video this morning for promoting the first day Welcome Rockville, and my photographers like, hey, tell us who you're interviewing today, And I went through my whole list of everybody own interview and I'm liking, there's a surprise band that I'm interviewing, and you're going to just have to I'll never tell you, Usa, you just became my favorite person. Nice. Now we use it too, yeah, we we we over use that ship. Yeah. He was telling me that you guys will do that stuff with songs that you have and all that and just like fuck with each other and sold each other with our songs and shit, I love it. That's the way it should be. You have fun with it.

2:16 What good is it to be in the music artists if you're not having fun and you know, doing stupid shit like that exactly. That's a big philosophy in the band is just like kind of like fun first, you know, like we chase that that feeling of like kids in the basement, just like chasing the dream. And part of that includes hazing each other a little bit sometimes with our song titles a little bit, okay, maybe a lot of bit, especially these two Alec and Roll. There's definitely a lot of a lot of friendly hazing there. All right, So where are you guys from originally like as individuals that they're that. Oh. So I was born in Hagerstown, Maryland, Okay, I'm sorry for that. Where Florida, Clearwater, Florida. Okay, Florida's okay. I was born into military life.

2:59 So I started off Georgia and went all around the country and ended up in Florida. Nice. No, I was in Georgia. My sister was born in German Georgia, Germany. Same thing, same difference, Georgia, Germany. So I was curious because, like, I'm originally from New Jersey and sarcasm is our language there. So I feared since you guys were like that, that maybe you were from the north. He's about as far north as it gets, but Maryland doesn't really count. Oh my heart literally up north, because I guess he's the most sarcastic out all of us. Yeah, and Marta, I don't think of clear Water when I think of sarcasm. Yeah, you just think of wanted to punch him in the face, right. We don't want to let everybody in on our secrets, that's right.

3:47 I get secret clubs in clear Water you don't know about. So I was just rained before you guys walked up about how Disney's like scraping a bunch of plans because of a big feud with our our great governor here. It's kind of funny, like a governor fighting with Mickey Mouse. I don't care what your political belief is. I just think that's funny. Like that scenario is quite hilarious. That was not on my Bingo card for twenty twenty three. Right, used to have Bob Iger fighting a political battle. I think somebody should start at TikTok and all their tiktoks are just like these caricatures of DeSantis and Mickey Mouse fighting each other. It's guy like Celebrity deathmatch, but it's Florida Disney Match or some shit like that. I used to watch Celebrity Deathmatch all the time, dude, right, bad as it's badass show that.

4:44 Now we just have real life politics. That's what celebrity deathmatch. So how's it feel to be here? Welcome to Rockville? Man, this is our first festival. We just got off stage not too long ago and the crowd was insane, man Like, this was watch a beautiful experience for us, and you know, we were so nervous at first but excited at the same time because, like, you know, being on such a big stage, you know, hanging around all this professional like it makes us feel like we're actually a fucking like real band, you know right, Oh you're a real band, I guess now. Yeah, and here you are. You made it Welcome to Rockville. Well, we've been faking it this whole time. We're gonna keep faking it. Nice. It must feel killer too that this early in the day, first stay at the festival on the Thursday when people have to work, that you had a sick crowd out there. Like you didn't expect that, did you. Honestly, Now, we kept checking the Welcome to Rockville app refreshing that seeing the number go up and up, and honestly, the last few days it just started climbing and the pretty representative of what was actually out there. So we didn't know what to expect going into it, and we were pleasantly surprised, and like Rawl said, as our first festival. So we're just so appreciative to DW Presents and like everyone that helped us get here, like manager included everybody. Like we're a self produced band, we don't really write with a lot of writers. We keep our circle bright tight, so like that's yeah. So, like we do a lot of stuff for ourselves, so it's like to add this opportunity to be in front of people, like to be around people that are killing it, that we look up to that you know, it's just beyond words.

6:13 It's crazy. So I do a lot of DWP festivals and so I'm kind of interested and how this came about because Danny does tend to like discover bands and bring them into the festivals. Oh so like kind of like how we got brought into the festival. Yeah. So I know that Jenny Wine Presents does the livestrooms on Twitch. Yeah, and I'd watched like maybe four or five myself and seeing that he does, like the they do the unsigned charting. Yeah. Yeah, so we had submitted I submitted us our song modified, not thinking anything of it, just submitted to see if we'd get played. Checked a couple of livestrooms and never saw it. So I thought nothing of it, and then all of a sudden we get a DM from one of their mods on Twitch on our Instagram page. It was like, hey, you guys should watch the DWP Presents today because you're gonna get played for the unsigned charts, let's check it out. So we were literally setting up the rack for you know, the new system we have for what we what We played with live tonight and had it on in the background, and they ended up playing our song on the live stream and instantly off rip. They were like, who was this band? We didn't get them on the Rockville And they within like I'm saying, like thirty minutes, like we had a DM with you know, asking us we want to play the festival, and then within a couple hours like an offer, an email. So it happen.

7:29 So clearly we didn't make it on the unsigned chart. We didn't. We didn't make it on like the charting, but we got I was not at all expecting that reaction from them, Like, not at all expecting to have such overwhelming support from them, and like you know, right after that, we got followed by all the people from DA Represents. It was just like to get that much overwhelming support for like an unsigned, like self produced band, We just we're so thankful. You have to be able to just be here, like you said, with no backing, yeah, backing, It's just us and our management and you know, a couple of crew and we're just out here killing it, rocking ourselves. I love it because you know the band i'm interviewing after you. They were at another day DWP festival last year there. I think they're from Florida or Atlanta, maybe Atlanta, and they drove up. I'm trying to remember which festival it was, because they all like swirl in your head after a while, and they they literally crashed the parking lot and did a set in the parking lot. Oh wow, and Danny Wimmer walked up. Now first you're thinking, oh, learn Trouble. Nope, had them play that day at the festival, and they're playing here at Welcome to Rockville. So wow, what a story, right?

8:48 Yeah? I would love to know At Silly Goose Yeah, oh Silly Goose Yeah wow us. Yeah, they were playing just before us. We were catching their step before we stepped on stage. Yeah, they were playing on the stage behind us and we were looking at were like, damn they sound sick. Yeah, dude, that's awesome. What a story? Yuh on the balls? Ill right that it could have gone very wrong. I feel like, but you gotta taking those chances, right, was you gonna shut it down. Like listen, that's old school right there when they did that, Like, that's fucking old school, because that's that's what bands did back in the day. You know, you just crashed or whatever, and that's how you got noticed and plastered your shit all over telephone polls and yeah, that's the old school rock and roll away and like, I love that.

9:33 That's that. Danny saw that and he you know, brought them on and they're killing it out here because, like I said, we saw them right before we got on. They sounded great, so so we like, you know, they took the old school approach like going like just literally showing up and playing and then we're on the live stream. The new way they find the artist's just cool. How like that worked out for both of us. And what I've found through the years of doing all the DWP festivals is that some of the bands like playing here now that are big and more the headliners now, they all started like you guys, Danny just discovered them somewhere. That's awesome. Yeah, opportunity. Yeah literally, yeah, it's just you sit here and you like you we were here just reminiscing on like, bro, we're at the five Hund like, we're all we have such an incredible opportunity here at the festival, and it's like seeing it's cool hearing all these stories on how Ban started the same way and like, you know, we hope to bring this thing and keep keep coming back and you know, never more, right, not never bore nothing more. Uh yeah. So Danny discovered them at a club in LA and them at a club in LA and now they're like headlining or almost headlining a lot oft DWP festivals and you know, you know their story. They're like pretty pretty big now, but you know, like headlining like House of Blues, like Venus, like all across. So there it is. You're in position now, guys. Yeah, grateful for the opportunity. There you Oh, well you got going on after Rockville. We've got some stuff to announce still we haven't announced some shows

11:05 that we have, but we're doing hopefully playing some shows this year and then also always working on new music, you know what I mean. In the studio, we got a couple of songs that you know, we're working and cooking up and hopefully we can drop that this year. When's this interview gonna go live? Because that'll depend on when we're not the show has already happened, maybe, so it will probably go live in the beginning of the week. Okay, so yeah, then there will definitely still be time for our next show, which will be in the Saint Pete area and I and our main location in South Florida, so we have a huge Florida audience for you. Let's thank you so much, guys, thank you so much for having a song. Right. I'm so happy I could drive to the festival. It's so much easier. Yeah. Yeah, And then like even like Sunday night, I'd be like, yeah, I'll just drive home. I don't want to stay another night. I'll come back home. Yeah. We were thankful that it was only like a two hour drive for us when we got Yeah, I have like two hours and forty five minutes. I'm near West Palm. Oh nice, Okay, yeah, we're yep. Just pop that down ninety five and boom yea niceyah. I love that I said this to somebody else earlier today too. I love the venues in Tampa. The venues in West Palm and Fort Laura Dell are assholes just being blunt, you know.

12:16 It's like the way they treat the bands the way they treat the media and all that in Tampa, like they know what they're doing. Yeah, Like every time I go cover show up there, I'm like, man, this is the best thing ever. We could learn a lot down, you know, because we got like gatekeepers and you know, Egos and Fort Lauradelle, West Palm. So it's like they all think they're the big shots. Yep. That's that's that's a lot surrounded industry. When you're like trying to like just discover new town or just be in front of like you know, you can't have that sort of attitude. And we've encountered a lot of those kind of like gatekeeper kind of like and therre the ones that usually shouldn't be the gatekeepers. Yeah, they don't typically have the credentials to be the gatekeepers exactly a little bit of like credibility they hit you can fail upward pretty Farah, there you go. So would you say this is probably when you're like eighty talking about his story so far, this is probably gonna be your best story or do you have another good story it hasn't happened yet. There you go. I like that answer. That's a good answer. So far, this is this is all we were talking together. This is beautiful, this is nice, something we'll always talk about. So you guys are always messing with each other sarcastically and all that stuff and the puns. It's a good thing. Raoul's really smart because he's really ugly, so he has a face for radio. Or he'll say stuff like I'm I'm so glad I'm here with my three best friends or two best friends, whatever the hell you say.

13:48 I say, I'm so glad I'm here with my two best friends in a room with Raoul, Josh and Jeremy nice. So is there ain't ain't time to any one of you like, don't get it and get pissed off? That was quick. They well, when you're fucking with each other. Yeah, sometimes it gets frighteningly serious between I like and Roll and I'm just like, is it Is it a joke? Or is it real? Or should I be here? Should I walk away? At the end of the day, I know they love each other. There you go, Maybe maybe I like the maybe out Well, we'll see, we'll see at the next festival if they still like each other. So how does everybody connect to you?

14:43 Guys? On socials, on the web. Most importantly, buy your merch because bands don't survive without merch and they can't listen my show unless they buy band merch. Absolutely, thank you so much. Yeah, we are on pretty much every social media platform you can think of. We are never tell on TikTok, never tell us on Twitter, never tell official on Instagram, and just never tell on Facebook. We have a twitch as well. Never tell TV or sometimes you live stream n E V E R T e L. We say all one word, one L, never tell. So what if my iPhone keeps trying to correct it because it's spelled wrong, throw it on the ground and you get a new phone because it doesn't know who we are yet you put a contact in your phone titled nevill never tell, and it'll never change it again. There you go, It'll always tell. Well, you guys freaking rock and glad you were here at Welcome to Rockville and thanks for being on the Adventures of Pipe Man. Of course, thank you so much for having us. Seriously, thank you for having us. This as a blast. Thank you. Sorry, we appreciate you. Thank you.

15:45 Appreciate it. Man, I love hearing that's a blast. It's like the best compliment you can give me, because media interviews usually are boring as shit. So there you go. There's my conflimation. Genuinely, breath of fresh air. This is it just felt like a conversation, like you said, so I if I was on yours. We've had some interesting interviews. I'm sure. Yeah, I hear it sometimes, like at some of the festivals, we're all of me around just listening to some of the others in there. I'm like, oh my god, i'd shoot myself as the artists in that interview. Yeah, I've been in a couple of those, but this is definitely not one of those. One specific one comes to mind, but I guess yeah, yeah. And then you know, in the John Moren you shouldn't have like you shouldn't know the genre. So when I see people what they're doing their interview with their notepad, if I was the artist, I would just smack it out of their hand. Okay, can we talk now? That's it. That's what we like. So here we are, and I hope to see a lot more of you guys, because you guys be fucking rock Thank you, rock over, Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Plate Man on W four CUI radio,
