04 Hey, you have unto censure. I'm for see Wow Crazy Young Roll, Why Become America. It's time for the Adventures of pipe Man on W four C why dot com wis Pompeas is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man. Show me dude, let me by, show me what I'm missing, Bili. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four C Y Radio, and I'm here with Moon Fever.

11 Moon Fever. I love how you did it. It was all in uison. And that's There's two reasons I like to have the band do it themselves. One is they usually do it better than I do. There's actually three reasons. Two is I know I won't fuck up their name. Appreciate that. I mean, it's kind of hard to fuck up Moon Fever. But I bet if somebody did, I bet Moon River Moon River all day. Listen. I gotta say before we started this interview, I can't fucking focus. Has anybody ever told you that you look exactly like Ringo Star and No, And I take that as a huge compliment because I played drums for nine years and Ringo Starr and Peter Chris were my mentors. Shut out, Yep, cat man, dude fifth, I hear you call in it.

00 I love it. One time I was hanging out in Hollywood and a bunch of Japanese tourists thought I was Tom Hardy and I was living it up, signing autographs, taking photos and taking their money. Love it, love it, Tom Hardy. Don't sign shit for free right now. See, I had a similar experience, but I could do what you did. I was at Louder than Life. I'm walking through the backstage to get to meet the area, and all the security people were stopping me and asking me for my autograph, and I didn't know what the fuck was going on. But you know, Foo was playing that night, headlining that night. They all thought it was Dave Grol. I'll believe it. I thought you were Dave girl when we sat down. I know, right, and listen, if you're gonna be somebody, let it be Dave Grol, because he's like the most real, coolest rock star ever. Dave. If you ever hear this, man, we adore you, We love you. I think you're real cute, you good at drums. It only it's amazes me too. Maybe and maybe you guys that he came from Nirvana and came from what happened, And I think Food's bigger than Nirvana ever was. And I love Nirvana, but yeah, he just came into his own he could be himself. I think that's the one thing that really shocked everybody was the fact that, you know, this guy who is a silent drummer for so long and one of the biggest bands in the world, comes out with this absolute powerhouse of a voice,

31 and not only the voice, but the energy of a front man, right, I mean, he's not that energy and in his original path in life of what he thought is he was just gonna be a drummer for Nirvana, you know, for who knows how long. But it's hard to say though, too, is like who would have gotten bigger because obviously Nirvana's career got cut a little short. You know, that's true. It's it's it's it's hard, but it is also crazy in the same breath to think that a drummer came and created this amazing band that literally took over the world. Yeah, I still drummers are musicians. I feel like Nirvana is still bigger than Foo Fighters. Well they might be, yeah, but I mean they were everywhere ever, you couldn't look any However, to his point, what I think would have happened had Kurt stayed alive is that the band would have broke up. From interviews, it sounded pretty pretty hectic. Yeah, and there was a lot of drama. And I've heard Dave in interviews say that, you know, basically Kurt didn't take anybody else's ideas, like it had to be Kurt's way or no way. Yeah, that's just like our band.

42 Yeah, yeah, Troy writes all the songs in our band. Dude. Yeah, I won't let him write dude. Yeah, Troy writes all the music. He does it all everything. I won't let him touch it. Nothing gets past well, think about think about I I was talking about The Catman and Ringo Star before, do you guys, No, here's a trivia question. What is the major similarity between Kiss and the Beatles? And when I tell people there's a similarity or like no marketing that is one for sure. There were both the you know, fucking geniuses of marketing and the attention aspect of things. I mean, grand you know there's a face paint and I mean, you know, if you've ever seen Geens and his family drool, and you saw the inside of his office, all those different things that they put their everything toilet paper, fucking vomit bags whatever. Dude, is it the face paint because the Beatles use a lot of face paint, did they right? What it is is that any whoever wrote the song sang it. And and on top of that, when it was Paul or John or Jean or Paul, they both always got credit on every song that those two wrote. Like you see Jeene and Paul on every kiss song that the two of them wrote, or whoever wrote it. And you see the same thing with the Beatles, it's always John and Paul. But if George Rose song he got great, he sang it, Ringo Rose song, he got great? He sang it. Say with Peter and Ace, I no idea

13 see that teaching us? Yeah? Ick knowledge, brother, you would have won a million dollars off of that trivia question. But y'all lost. I'm used to losing musicians now. Now all you have left is Sonic Temple. Actually, normally I would be, but we're not doing interviews there because in the way it's structured, so I won't be there. Unfortunately, I'm at a lot of festal I'm at all the day Wimmers usually, but if I'm not doing interviews, I don't, you know, I don't need to go. But I love Rockville, I love Sonic Temple, I love all the Danny Wimmer festivals. I do festivals all over the US, Europe, UK.

55 By far, Danny Wimmer runs it the best, just does it right, man. You know, it's it's good to be a fan at one of his festivals. I mean, to be a player or to be crew. It's everything right, It's just it's as good as it gets. And I have to add on that because I think it was the last interview where I was like, you know, I really had to bring it to attention that you know, this the staff and the logistics of everything and the organization here at these you know, Danny Wimmer festivals are bar none. They're absolutely barnune. And that's the thing too, is when you have this many bands coming into a festival or even a venue for that point, you know what I mean, it's important having that organization, but not only that, having the stage crew and everything. You know, the energy's got to be there, right. And the second we sept on the stage, you'd everybody was more than accommodating, made us feel like we were Metallica. And at the end of the day, that makes the biggest difference for how these shows continue to roll on. And a lot of these fans don't realize, but dude, this road crew I here is is seriously like more than fifty percent of the show and we couldn't do it without him. So I have to give those guys their flowers on all these festivals because those are the real road dogs.

00 Out shout out to the crew. We love you, road dogs say, I love that. And you know, I've never heard an artists, and I've interviewed so many artists over many years at Danny Wimmer festivals, not one that's ever bitched about it. And you know bands, bands always have a lot to bitch about festivals. So I mean the fact that there's nothing to bitch about it. Like to your point what you were saying, how many times you show up at a festival and before you go on stage there's shit that happens that you're just in this foul mood and that's how you have to go on state happens all the time, man, I mean in places you don't expect it too. I mean, she show up like real stoke to some stuff and it ends up being a shit show. But it's like you can always trust a Wimmor festival. Man. It's like when you get the call that you're on it, it's like, really fucking all right, god right, I gotta tell you a funny story. I don't know if you know it, but there's this band that plays on the Danny Wimmer festivals now and I was there when it happened. Where was it it was that it might have been Was it rock Phil? I can't remember which festival.

03 It wasn't here at Daytona though, but this band did an old school punk rock thing and pulled up in the parking lot at the festival. Love that it is it is, you know the story, then love it. Sorry, Troy, just keep taking the mic out of Troy saying yeah, dude, steey goose. I think it was like it was months ago that one of the boys in the band brought it up and they're like, dude, have you guys heard about this band that I forgot who was on tour? They didn't get on the tour, so what they decided to do was spend the money, follow the tour around the whole entire US, dude, And they opened their U haul truck in parking lots and people that once the concert was over there everybody's coming back to their cars. What do you see a U haul truck filled with these punk ass motherfuckers putting the sickest set together that you've ever seen, and their kids can't said, and they're out here fucking like making their own wake, dude. So they were on tour without a tour exactly like, it's fucking amazing. You know what's the most you know, the the most rock and roll thing about that is is they were like, we don't give a fuck about guarantees, we don't give a fuck we lose money. They're doing it because they knew it was the right thing to do. And look how it worked out for him, no doubt. And then more creds to what Danny Whimmer, like most people writing a festival with gone out there, kicked them out or you know, had somebody kick them out, and he was in the audience in the parking lot that okay, and that and he ended up putting them on a stage at that festival.

30 I mean, that's just that's that show's heart. Man. That man fucking deserves that. Man. If you see a group of kids going out there making it happy, they they didn't take no for an answer. They went out there and they fucking made it happen. Dude. Are you gonna discourage some hard working kids from like working hard? Dude, no doubt. Yeah we are plus you know, and this is an unpopular opinion, but you don't see that ship in mainstream rock and roll, you know what I mean. They don't give a fuck about tracks. They don't give a fuck any of that ship, dude. They are balls to the wall, sweat four on the floor, classic rock and roll, the same that kind of attitude that made us all be fans of rock and roll when it started fucking hitting the fandy. This is that attitude that people are forgetting. And look what those kids, dude, it's one hundred and that's that's the way it always was. And somehow we lost that and I love it that kids today brought it back. Yeah. Absolutely, the future is in good hands man, there it is. So what story do you guys have like that? Well, I've been I've been doing it for twenty years. Pretty cool news, dude, Troy has been doing it close to that. I mean, we all have. And it's fun to be in a band that's, you know, breaking some molds and doing some a little different and people are noticing it.

43 And we're super stoked to be a part of a huge festival like this and Sonic Temple, and we're so gracious about where we're at right now and where we've all come from. So to be a part of something this big, Uh, you can't describe how it feels. Yeah, you might even say you're dave gracious about it. I love it. I love it. And Okay, so before the interview, you were talking about my Motorhead shirt and then you have this killer tattoo on your chest. Yeah, dude, shout out to a shout out to Lance Netherland, the tattoo artists that did the work. Man. He's fucking killer. But yeah, I'm a diehard Motorhead fan. I got to see them. My dad took me for my eleventh birthday. And actually, this is a good story. My dad took me to see Motorhead my eleventh birthday at the Showbox Sodo in Seattle, and I'll never forget. I remember we were in the library at the computer because that's where you had to go to print off the ticket. So he's like check out or he's got you, and I see Motorheads headlining. Valiant Thor also played. They opened up the show and Clutch was second, so it's a killer line of nice Anyways, I'm first in line. I get there early. I'm up on the barricade and shit, and there's this asshole to the right of me. I'm a kid, dude, asshold of riding and his wife and he's got his elbow like buried in my little kid's side.

52 Ude trying to like, you know, fucking pull rank on the barricade. So I'm not forgetting that, and so I have something under my foot the whole fucking shit. Halfway through the show, I've decided what the fuck is it that I'm standing on. I shit, you not, dude, I fucking pull out a Motorhead stick. It's a Motorhead drumstick signed by Nicky. Come to find out, the second I picked this drumstick up, the dude to the right of me, the asshole. He realizes it. Him and his girlfriend had VIP passes to go and do a meet and greet with the band, and she got that stick signed. Well guess he went home with that stick. Me, motherfucker be nintigs. Next time, name three Motorhead songs right now, fucking born to lose Asus spades. I mean those are all the easy ones. I ain't no nice guy. That's a deep cut.

33 I ain't no nice guy anymore. Dude. That's one song by Lemmy that'll make a grown man cry. Okay, So should we do some Lemmy trivia questions then? Okay? So first of all, I just want to make you a pissed off at me. I used to hang out with Lemmy at the Rainbow Whones. I'm fifteen years old. So who did he date that used to perform on stage and wear no top and have the lights hawkwinds and the hawkwind man Nope, and the lights would melt off. That she used to put shaving cream on her breasts, and then that the lights would melt it off and she'd get arrested like Jim Morrison, like all the time.

13 This is somebody who let me date. It let me dated, and I'm not gonna lie, dude. Lemmy wasn't known for having girlfriend's brother. You guys never hit an quitting it. She's the most famous punk rock chick ever. I'm gonna go ahead and say that I don't know the answer to that question anybody else most I only know the topless chick from Hawkwind, Lemmy's first Bandy. No, I don't know Jon and Blank Wendy O Williams of the Plasmatics. Dude, Yeah, I am such a piece of shit. You made me feel dumb, yo. So here's what's funny. We got Amigo to devil here. And so Mike Wall sucks up and says, meet Dave Girl, because we were talking about the whole Dave Girl thing. And I look up. I'm like, I'm like, holy fuck, it is Dave Growl. Hey, say, what's up to everybody? Fresh pots.

18 You missed the beginning of Mego where I was at lower than life when I had my long hair and the security guards came up to me and were asking me for a grafts. I didn't know why, and they all thought it was Dave Grol. You know what, now we could really fuck with him. Sorry, Hey, Amigo, you can interrupt a time. I love it. I love it. See, so now I got you on two trivia questions. That's terrible. What kind of musicians are you? I didn't volunteer for any of this, by the way, I'm pretty alright you're proud about it. And then I just took a dive. Yeah, gotta hit you one more question. You embarrass me again? Dude? How many embarrass us? Okay? So tell me those gloves have to do with a band?

10 No, man, I like everybody else in a hard working industry. You know, before you go to work, you fucking what do you do? You put your gloves on? You know, If I'm being completely honesty, I gotta be straight up. My dad's a musician. He's you know, the whole one that got me into this, and I straight up stole this look from him. Man, So this is kind of a nod to my father, you know, to remember where I've came from and look to where I'm going. And so I put these gloves on when I'm ready to go out and go to fucking work. Dude. It gets me in that that headspace. So now do you know why I said that? Why is up? Okay? So there's this Metallica song called the Four Horsemen. Yeah, yeah, familiar that was originally not the Four Horsemen. That is a mega song because Dave wrote it called the Mechanics shut Up spelled the same way.

52 Really Yeah, see that like shout out, shut out. You gonna have to go home and do some homework. I guess, okay, yeah, I Unfortunately I can't say publicly which bands I do and don't like. It'll make people hate me. So tell everybody how they can connect to you, guys on solcials. Check out your tour dates, buy your merch because that's most important. Moonfever Official on everything, We're on everything, you'll find us. It's all there, all the things you're looking for. Moonfever Official. That's right. Have you ever performed at a drum circle, a full moon drum circle? I used to work at Guitar Center if that's close enough.

33 If you're in a fucker that sold me the Bad Task Cam. Yeah you didn't buy the PC. Dude, that's wrong with you. You're fucked, brother, You're fucked. Yeah, you didn't want that two years anything else you want to let the listeners know about that? They should look out for from you guys. Except you'll be at Song Temple next week. Song Temple baby on tour with Goodbye June love those boys canting me back up. We're just doing the thing. I don't know. Just look for us. We're around now. That makes sense now because Amigo interrupted this interview. Every interview I have that good boy June is ever at the festival, they'll come up to me and they'll be like, in the middle of interview, Hey, what's up, pipe Man. Oh they're cool as ship, so that we would go out with them. Yeah, we love Amigo as well.

19 Yeah, dude, we don't. We don't. We don't scrive from greatness. Dude, come on. And also I think to end the interview too. Fucking thank you man, Thanks, thank you pipe Man for fucking giving us a killer interview. We had a great time with you. Well, thank you for giving me to compliment because to me, this is the most fun part of an artist job, because you've got a bunch of people give an interviews like that. How'd you get your band name? Nah, dude, don't don't fuck that. Anybody's got a problem with this, man. This is all part of the job, and this is why we do it. Man, this is I love it. But I love that you had fun because that that means I achieved my goal. Absolutely. Yes, thank you, mister Pipe. Yes, mister Pipe, a moment of your time. Thank you, brother, really appreciate it. Thank you for performing Welcome to Rockville and being so bad as happy to be here. Brother. Thanks for being on the adventures Pipe Man make our hearts well, you make my heart fall by just fucking doing what you do. Oh no, and the media almost and we're about to get trampled by the media intent, So now it's the time to end the interview. Roll it. Thanks you, guys, Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Patemn on w for c u I Radio.
