04 Hey, you have unto censure. Wow for you young Wake up America. It's time for the Adventures of White Man on W four C why dot Com West pomp Beats is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the White Man. Send Shaine's all over me. Yes, Surfa bundess me, I can't wait soup best s fas buness me, I can't wait out.
58 This is the White Man here on the Adventurespike Man W four C Y Radio, and I'm. Here with what's up? Mike's dead? Nice here at Lower than Life. This is going to be too much of a habit, I think it is. This is the second time I've played, third time I've been here nice, which is fun. Hey, so let me you were looking at this as an audio producer, Yeah, what do you think of this shit? Man? That's sick. It's like, I mean, so, I've heard of taskcams before. I've actually used a task can but it was for like ir responses. So you can basically go into a So you could go into like an old church, right, and you could do like you could drop something and you could take that ir response of the reverb and then go and use that reverb in that specific church in a song like on a sample so on, like a snare hit or something like that.
40 So I've used these before. That's pretty cool, not this exact model. So this one, Okay, it's gonna blow your mind. First of all, it does everything. I've a Roadcaster Pro two in the studio. This can do everything that can do. Like, it has an equalizer, It has a mixer, normalizer, gay really everything. Here's the best part. Now as we're talking, because I'm loud, it's clipping the whole time. You see it going red. Yeah. First time I use this, I shit my pants because I was seeing that, and then I was listening afterwards to the individuals. I'm like, fuck, it's all distorted, was it?
21 This thing does a mix and no matter how hot I am, how hot you are, it mixes it down to perfect. Wow. Like I don't even have to have it set right, huh. It's it's just it's the most amazing thing ever. Because I'm clipping right now as I'm talking, yeah, and it won't show up. I just know. I looked at it to make sure that my mic was loud enough, and I was like, all right, cool, I'm chilling. Yeah. See there you go, fucking planes going over fucking rock and roll in the background, lots of noise. It's great interview with all that you got all the background noise. So as it feel to be back at Louder than. Life, dude, kind of get that ant off the thing. I'm in a great fucking mood. I love this set today.
03 I don't think could have gone any better. I've played all of the Wimmer festivals, I've done this a couple of years now, and today was the loudest I've ever heard the crowd from a like knowing the lyrics perspective, which is very different for a festival because obviously you're getting a smorgas board of people that a lot of people don't know you, a lot of people don't know any of your lyrics anything like that, and that's typically what I've experienced, Like we've garnered big crowds before. But the difference today. I remember hearing like a lyric. That the crowd said, and I was like, yo, let me hear you, and the whole fucking crowd from front to backs hit me back with the same lyrics and I was like, oh, hold on, y'all are actually here because you wanted to see me. This is not like, oh, let's discover a new artist type of situation. This is We've played here before. I've headlined here, I've done support like I've done support with Eicenine Kills here.
51 Yeah. I love Louisville, and. So having all those people show up, having all those people show up and be excited, it's a really good feeling and it makes me. It makes me feel great because it was just it wasn't the biggest festival audience we played for, but definitely the loudest and most interactive. See and I would think too as an artist, man, this is the best thing that could ever happen. When the whole crowd's yelling back your lyrics at you, it's like, holy shit, had. That Well, That's why a lot of artists love their like doing headlines, like I love headlining typically. Because you to your room. Dude, it's your people, it's your room, your experience. It was really cool to have that almost on a festival stage and it's like a few thousand people that are all stoked, and I did the whole hey who sort of, Mike said before three fourths of the crowd's hands went up and I was like shit, and I was like, who's new here?
40 And still got some hands. I was like, all right, well welcome. So it was dope. It was. It was a great good time. That's wild. I love it. And so what you got going on after Louder than Life? We've got Aftershock in two weeks. I don't know if I'll see you there. I will see you there, all right, Yeah, we'll be there. And then we've got a full tour within this moment in the fall November. Yeah, we went out with them in May and we're now doing part two of the headline. So we've got on the twenty ish twenty ish shows and then I'm routing a few headlines. Through that that are going to get announced next week. Very cool. It's like three shows, just three extra ones because we had some extra dates. So how do people find out about those announcements? Let's tell whatever you use social media, it's it's all in the same place, you know what I mean. Or if you're on Facebook, if you're on Instagram, whatever the fuck it's Mike's dead on everything, and then join the email blast and stay up to date. I guess I don't fuck you know. There's so much noise nowadays, just everywhere.
32 How about buy your merch because that's the most important part. Yeah, that's honestly, what's a lot of people don't realize that's the most helpful thing you can do for any artists because a lot of us are signed to labels. Yeah, and we don't make shit from our music. Like Spotify, I don't pay his shit. Spotify pays nothing, and labels don't pay a lot either, So it's like we don't generate income from our actual music music. It's all mainly tickets and t shirts. Well, it blows my mind too, because I'm a legit radio station. It's license and pays royalties, and I wonder why the royalties I'm paying doesn't get to the artists typically. I don't know, dude, I think the industry is really fucked up, and I've talked about this very openly. I think that I don't know. It's just it's been ran the same way for so long that in order to make a dent, you would have to have the largest artists in the industry like Adele and Taylor Swift to suddenly be like, you know what, fuck this yeah, and put their foot down and cause a problem. Problem is they're already making so much money.
28 Taylor supposed a fucking billionaire, dude. She doesn't give a shit, right at the end of the day, She's not gonna sit there and like, oh hey, let me just topple my empire over Pride. I guess right. I know she does a lot for like songwriters, like looking out for songwriters getting an equal cut and everything. That's cool, but it's not like you see Drake going online being like, you know, what fuck does industry man? I know Snoop Dogg did like the whole thing of like, hey, he did his math of like all the streams he had, and he's like, and I've made how much from that? He's like, I mean that little from that many streams. I think it just needs to be a conversetion more. But at the end of the day, a lot of the labels own the whole business. Here's the other problem. I notice the other day artists that I know that got off of Spotify for principle and shit, but then her fans kept wanting the stuff on Spotify, so she put it back up on Spotify.
20 She said she's not gonna promote it, but it's there for her fans. Yeah, I mean, that's the reality of the situation. I know a lot of people pull their music off Spotify, but at the end of the day, they have the largest user basis out of all of the DSPs I prefer. I like Apple Music because they have lossless audio, so it's like the best version of the masterfile I use all yeah. Yeah, so it's like you get the best, you get the best sound. But their user interface, like their playlisting and everything like that is kind of dog shit compared to Spotify, right, So it's more likely that the younger generations, the gen X, the gen z's, all these people are gonna use the one that's cool with playlists and cool with you can share to your friends. So it's tough. It's a rock and a hard place. At the end of the day, I think that I have I've completely stopped caring about streaming because I make no fucking money from it. Yeah, Like, I don't make money.
06 No one makes money. My team doesn't make money. Like my friends who are bigger artists don't make money. And I'm like, cool, I'm just gonna care about real life, not the fucking Internet. I'm gonna care about real life, showing up, ripping fucking shows and putting on the best energetic set that I can so everyone can walk away going dude, that was like an experience, And if you didn't go, you fucking missed it for sure. And it's not gonna live online, it's not gonna live somewhere where you can access it. You missed it, you fucked up. I need to hit the next one. That's why I love you, because that's the attitude I have, and that's why I even love doing these festivals so I can be in yeah, the live music, can discover my new bands here instead of Spotify exactly. So there it is Spotify school for when you're at the gym.
49 Other than that, it's I think you really need to be going to shows and supporting artists that way, and showing up and even checking out new artists that way. I've I've found artists that I really like shout out. I don't even know these guys personally, but like Johnny Booth is one of my fucking favorite bands, sick ass hardcore band from New York. I went to random fucking show in Nashville. I went. I think it was Silent Planet or something like that, and Johnny Booth I think, was like the second band up and I walked in and was like, Oh, this is the headliner for sure. They're like, oh no, this is the second band, and I was like, what the fuck. Wow. The energy that they had the crowd was just animals, and I was like, Oh, if I didn't come to this show, I would have never experienced this band live.
32 And they're recorded music. It's all hardcore, so you know what I mean. It's different, Like, yeah, hardcore music on the recorded side is like oh sick, thrashy dope versus yeah, person, It's like, oh, dude, if you're if you go to a knock Loose show, you're like, what the fuck is this exact? Gooblacon or some shit like that same thing. I was like, cool, I found my one of my cool favorite bands from this. I think people need to go to shows. Leave your house, I agree, and go to Danny Wimmer festivals. Yes, and go see Mike's Dead. Yeah, please come see Mike's stead hang out. Thanks for being here at Ladder to Life and thanks for being on the Adventures pipe Man. Once again, me Thank you for listening to the Adventures of pipemn on w for Cui Radio
