04 Hey, you have done to censure? Wow? Crazy you why become America. It's time for the Adventures of Pipeman on W four c Y dot com West Palm Beats, his number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the pipe Man, come season. This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four c Y Radio. And I'm here with let down.
57 That's me nice. You're an aftershot. I am. Are you shocked that was so freaking hot? At am shocked after I got off stack? I no, I'm shocked. It was hot as hell, terribly. I was saying it before you. I don't even know how you are do it sometimes, Like I mean, it's just you put everything you have out and you can't even realize that it's hot while you're up there because you just got we you don't think about it at first. Yeah, three songs and you're like, holy crap, right, this is terrible. I took my mic stand halfway through the set and moved it back by the drum isser ands and I'm standing in the fucking shade, dude. And you know what, when you perform at night too with lights, aren't as lights hot as fuck.
41 We're transitioning out of hot lights, and now everything's led so the lights aren't hot anymore. Because I remember years ago, well I remember way back. Do you remember Wehndo Williams. No, okay, So she was this punk icon from the Plasmatics and she dated Lemmy. Oh yeah, I gotcha. And she had like this seventeen inch high mohawk, but she had she's put shaving cream on her breasts and during the gig the lights would melt it off. She would be like Jim Morrison. She'd get arrested at every fricking gig of that. That's awesome, right, respect, So she couldn't do that nowadays. I mean, there'd be perfectly cool whip cream up there, I know, right, So tell her listeners a little bit about you as an artist. I've never heard you before, and not the way like some people would box you into a genre. I'd like to hear what the artist conserves her creativity to be. So, I mean, letdown is just that it's a The name is self explanatory. I just have never felt like I really belonged to her, that I haven't really did write by anyone or anyone ever did right by me. I've kind of always just felt that way. The music I write is an expression of that. I just don't want other people who grew up the way I did to feel like alone. So's it's more of a come together, like we got this. I love that because I can relate to that. My family will tell you, like one of my songs, not because it's my favorite song, just because it just fits me is somewhere I belong because it's like I don't really feel like there's a place
13 I belong, and I belong to many places, you know, It's not just one, you know, and it's like here, I'm missing this, there I'm missing that, and it's never that one place, right, So yeah, I agree. I felt that way with my whole life. So you see when you're saying, I'm like, man, I know exactly what you're thinking. Not everybody understands that. I think it's more common than most people think. I think, especially now like the world's fucked well. I think people talk about it more now, like cause like when I was younger, you didn't talk about that shit. No, hell no, you know, when I was a kid, we didn't talk about that shit. So I had recently one of my my best friend since like thirteen he passed away, and my kids like I'm the typed. I was like, you know, here, here's what's going on. I don't want to talk about it anymore, right, And they keep trying to get me to talk about it, right, because that's how it is nowadays, and my brain how it works is I got brought up in time where it's like, no, you don't talk about it, you don't get upset, you don't get emotion, move on. Yep, exactly, those days are gone. You know what I found out after fifty six years on this earth, what's that? That was a fucking stupid idea. I agree, And the most important thing you can do is be honest with yourself about it too, totally, because you know it did work for a while, but then it catches up to you.
36 I think that's the thing is, because you do that, then it catches up to you and you just fucking go haywire. And I think that's why there's so many people like what we've seen in the industry, where they get to this stage of life and then they take their life and it's like you would think, well, you just repression, you let it build m that's it goes for anything in life. Yeah, literally every avenue you can think of in life. If you'd let the tiny things build, it's gonna be a real big thing later. So that's why I thank you as an artist, because not everybody can express it, you know, and not but not everybody wants to. But by you doing, it's therapy for you.
18 But it's therapy for me too, exactly. And that that's how to me what music. Some people just need a little handle hold. That's right, we'll guide them. There you go, and that's what they have you for with that music, exactly. And listen to the festivals itself. I go out there and I feel like I'm with like a one hundred thousand of my closest friends. Yeah, it's amazing. And I'm alone the planet. Yeah, and I'm alone at the same time, yep. And there's no outsiders, Like everybody is the outsider, so we're all insiders. Absolutely. So what are you gonna do to follow up after Shock? What else you got going on the rest of the year. I'm in the middle of a headlining tour right now. Nice two festivals after Shock, So tomorrow morning or late tonight we're packing up. I got one last show in Dallas, Texas.
01 I was just there last night, and I don't want to fucking go back there. Well, not that I got here at like three am, because I got boarded the plane in Dallas and then they took us off the plane and we sat for like six hours while it rained. That sounds terrible. Yeah, so I don't want to go back to Dallas, but I want everybody else to go back to Dallas to see your show. Well, I'm really excited. I'm actually from Dallas, nice, and I don't have a lot of nice things to say about it. What do you think of Austin though, Like everybody says it's a live music capital and the live music capital is Nashville, Tennessee, and all that's what I say, no competition, it's Nashville. When I went there, I'm like, why are they calling this Any given moment, from eleven am to four in the morning, there's at least five hundred live bands playing. Oh in Nashville at least I love it always like three hundred. Actually, yeah, I love where you can just walk down the road and pop in, pop in. You don't even have to pop Understand this business is four floors and there's four man's playing on.
02 It's amazing. I love it. Yeah, if it had a beach, i'd lived there. I live in Nashville now, and uh, it needs a beach. It does, it does? It'd be the perfect race a lot. I think people are really nice in Tennessee too, Like I think there's still love Tennessee people. Yeah, there's some of the nice, all the good things I liked about Texas without all the bad things I hated about it. See there you go. I think I think we'll have to move a beach there, or you know, cut off the East coast and just start at Tennessee exactly. Oh man, So how do people connect to you on socials? On the web? Letdown dot com, let down on Instagram, let down on tiktoks, just let down, l E t d own. What's the crazy? What's the craziest shit you've experienced in this music journey? Craziest shit I've experienced so far. I haven't really seen anything crazy, Jesse. Have you seen anything crazy? I don't mean here, just in general in your musical journey? Nothing crazy happenings like insanely. Oh, I mean, we've been chased across the country by fans. Well that's pretty cool, and it's cool. I don't know's I hope they don't listen to this. Well, you know it's funny because oh my goodness, oh let's hear about that. What can I get for four dollars? There was a man on this tour. They walked into this tex mex restaurant we were eating at and tried to buy all the food on our table, and it was it was just really funny. So he had four bucks and he walked in and he put it down and he was like, can I have your cheese?
33 It was like a couple of shred of cheese and he's like, I got four dollars and then he looks at the cheese, looks at the money, and he grabs the money goes but that's fine, and put it back in his pocket and started walking around the the table. And then he picked up one of the plates off our table and held it up like a superman and flewid around the restaurant. What was he on? We need some of that. I could use it right now. Whatever it is, I know, that was wild. My two people in my crew were from a better term, not in the correct state of mind to be in public. And they thought it was a fever dream. They thought this whole this whole restaurant thing was fake and this guy was part of a a whole thing. See, now that's crazy shit right there. I love it. It was honestly one of the greatest days of my life. And I've said multiple times that I want to go back and find this guy do it. You know, some of the craziest shit is some of the best times in your life, isn't it, Jake, I have some crazy memories. I'm like, fuck, I was nuts, but man, that was like the best time I ever had, Right So, I had the best time here at after Shock.
35 I love after Shock. I love it. This is my first time. Really. How about you were at Louder Was it your first time? It was my first time Louder. Okay, this might be a hard question. Louder why there was something different? The stages weren't a mile away from each other. It seemed a little more organized. But I mean it seems like a lot of the same crew, Like our whole stage crew was all the same stage crew we had at Louder. It is I think Louder just is set up better, But as far as the festival, I think it's the exact same thing. Yeah, Danny Wimmer does it right, So yeah you have that. I how smooth it runs right, And the people that work here and work for him are fucking some of the nicest humans I've ever met. And respectful. I love it, don't care who you are, respectful. I love hearing that because how many times is that not the case?
22 Like almost every other festival, right exactly, like if you're not the headliner, like I've been doing the festival every weekend since August, And of course you know the one a few weeks ago that we won't mention who must not be named. Oh my god, that was insane. I would say that if somebody asked me the same question, that would be probably one of my answers. So thanks for being here at Aftershock and I'm kicking ass. Who you're going to see tonight? I'm gonna ride the train nice. I think I think I'm might have to do it. They're always good lives. I've saw them when I was a kid. It's been a long time. Oh it's gonna be good. It is an Avenge Sevenfold playing tonight. Too.
03 Are they playing tonight? Are they the headliner tonight? I think they are. Uh, Oh, I might have to do it a little bit. I think you're right. Actually, yeah, I might have to travel. Oh you might miss that because you're okay, So avenged is yep? Tonight eight twenty five to nine fifty five tonight. They're not making this easy. No, it's fine. You might not get any sleep going to Dallas. But that's the life, is it? Whatever? Right, that's the life. Well, any final words you want to leave our listeners with that we haven't covered already. I mean, check outletown and you're not lone, and you won't come find me, and I won't promise you. I won't let you down let down, will not let you down. Hey, it sets the bar low, so I can only surprise you. I love that.
48 Well, you did kick ass here at after Shock and uh and a louder and I hope to see a lot more at these festivals because your rock. I really appreciate you. Hey, my pleasure, and thanks for being on the Adventures Pipe Main. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipemin on w for c u I Radio.
