04 Hey, you have done too Yes, censure, I'm for see wow crazy you whake up America. It's time for the Adventures. So white Man on W four C why dot com West pomp Beats is number one internet radio station. Here's your host, the white Man. Manette. No, no, no, no, it's a good time. Who the fucking you? I'm a brought one of a bannet, but I want into a crockery rubbernet to the windows, crockery, U bannet going to little room. We don't just doing on repug. U bernet win them in the club? Yeah, a bannet three six five party girl?

47 A bannet? Should we do a little ky? Should we have a little line? When to go real? Why want of a bannet? Benny in the bathroom with jo U bannat three six five party girl with bannet? French manicure? What the what's it doing? This is pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe Man W four C y Radio, and I'm here. With Joey Valance and Bray Nice. Here at after Shock. That's right, it's your second time in after Shock, isn't it correct? Why want to know is how did that happen? How did you end up at after Shock? I think we got booked and then we showed up. That's a good one. We just get here, you know, we just show up. Actually, we did some favors for the promoters, and.

29 Yeah, we might not want Ardos favors, but it's up to you. Hey, let's just keep it short and said, but we did some favors, all right. That's what I think if you can dream all you want, so tell the listeners who have never heard you, guys, how you would describe yourself as artists, not John genre bullshit, Just. Like how you are as an artist. What would you. Want to hear that would make you want go to your own set? It's just pure energy, it's pure authenticity. It's fun, it's sexy, and it makes you like want to be yourself. That's the biggest way. Yeah, it's jump around music for sure. It's a house party up there. I love it. Yeah. What started this the whole musical journey? What started it for each one of you?

12 Wow? I mean to keep it short. I mean we met in college and just started doing stuff together for fun. Like we weren't even putting music out really, we were just doing it in our free time. It's because what we enjoyed doing and then it just snowballed into this somehow. So you know, it's kind of crazy. But see, I love hearing that, like cause you guys were at Penn State, right, that's right? Yeah, funny enough. When I was a little kid, I grew up in Jersey. That was when they asked you what college you want to go to? In first grade? I said, Penn State? Is that right? Yeah? I don't even know why. That's awesome tell you truth. Thanks, cool, It just came out of my head. That's why I wrote down. But I love hearing when artists met in college opposed to high school because I just find there's a whole nother level to the musicianship and just the ability to navigate this world when you have that.

02 Do you agree? Yeah? I think so too. I mean, like we're equally as dumb kids. If we would have like if we would have met in middle school, would have been like the same thing. We're just like dumb, stupid kids. There's something also to say about us going to college and getting that experience and like coming out as artists and like literally having degrees under our belt that we kind of like have more of a like understanding of how to approach even like business shit like that, not. That that's a real important issue. Yeah, So I think we just came out of it mature, Like we're not mature, but we are, you know what I mean. So I think that was fun. And then just meeting in college, we got to have that whole experience at the same time. So yeah, and I love the part what you said about the business because like a lot of bands back in the eighties and earlier, you know, they got screwed over because they didn't know the business.

47 You know. This way, you guys have the education and the smarts to be able to know what's good for you and what's not that you can have the longevity and not go through what those bands went through. Yeah, exactly, good point, good point. And I do have to give you some kudos on your nails. Oh, thank you. And there's a reason why, Okay, go ahead, it's kind of a sad reason, but this is why I'm wearing this. My grandson passed away a few weeks ago, a couple of weeks ago. So sorry to hear that. And that's how his hands were, is that right? Yeah, he loved doing his nails like that. That's great. We had great style. There you go, So you reminded me of him, so you must be cool. Oh man, that's awesome. I appreciate that.

28 So what else you got going on? After? After show, we. Have a little bit of a break and then we continue our No Hands tour into Europe all of November. The whole month of November, we're all over Europe just you know, doing our album lab on stage. So it's going to be fun for the next month. But yeah, it's there a country you most look forward to playing at UK. The UK for sure. We love London, we love like everything there. But we're also doing some new shape we're doing, like we're going to Italy, which is exciting for most time, doing a couple of things in Sweden, and like hitting Germany. So it's gonna be fun. Yeah. But then we're gonna come home and just start working on the next record. So yeah, work, work, work, And I have a question, is your room still Pokemon?

11 Yes? Yeah, I post it like every day i'm home. Yeah it is. That's cool as shit. Yeah, I'm a huge nerd. I love video games and I love like anime and Pokemon, so that's just like my whole setup. And I use like the money, Like normally people would go out and. Buy like expensive stuff. I just go out and I buy Pokemon cards and like dumb stuff to fill my room with trinkets. So do you play Pokemon Go? I don't as much anymore, but I mean I play like all the video games when they come out, and I like play the trading card game and so I'm just like a huge nerd about it. Nice And I think it's really cool too that you guys do recording on a Nintendo. Yeah, I mean that's cool as shit. I'm a gamer from way back. So like when I see that, like yesterday, you know, forget the bands.

57 I'm not fan boying on the bands. There was one band yes. Yesterday that they are on EA NHL, which I play all the freaking time, and I'm like, now, that's the coolest part about your band. We just got our one of our songs on the MLB like baseball video. Oh really, that's pretty cool? Yeah? Yeah, how does that feel when you like get your song on that. That's one of the things, after being in music for a couple of years that we find the coolest is the sinking part of it, like hearing our music pop up in like advertisements and video games and movies and stuff. Isn't it really really cool? Yeah, it's crazy. It's like you're just like, whoa is this real light? Exactly? Yeah? For sure. So one story, good or bad.

39 That's been the most memorable of this musical journey. That when you're like older, you're gonna talk about crazy not crazy, I don't care, what. Is it for me personally. We got booked for a festival in Jakarta, Indonesia, with like a seventy two hour notice almost, and we flew there the next day. We're there for barely twenty four hours and flew back. So we flew to the other side of the world and back in like two days. Yeah, because it's crazy. It takes a day to get there, yeah, day to get back. Yeah. We flew from like Pennsylvania to San Diego, San Diego to Japan, Japan to Jakarta. We did a festival there literally like spent like a few hours in the hotel, got back. On a plane, came back. That's crazy. Yeah, it was.

19 It was I was like, there's a real rock star ship right here. I know. I know, like the fuck it, I'm going now we're going. Yeah, yeah, And. How was it? How was the festival? There was like two hundred kids there. It was awesome, biggest, biggest payday of our life. There were two hundred kids. We were like, oh, there's gonna be like thousands of people here. No, we could count on like one hand how many kids there. It was awesome, though, shout out Indonesia man. Crazy. You just never know though, who you might connect with in that situation exactly. Sometimes it's better those little intimate shapes, you know. Yeah, but hey, you got to hang out in Indonesia. That's all that counts right there. It's shopping. So yeah, yeah, there. We always have crazy stories some shows. I mean we put out these. We just love, you know, being dumb and breaking stuff and you know.

06 How that's always fun. So I was just at the final No Effects show. Oh yeah, and Fletcher from Penny Wives was breaking everybody's guitars up. Really yeah. He was just picking up guitar smashing on there. I think some One Effects. They were just doing some shows together. Yeah, not at the last one. Was at the last one, but I did riot Fest where No Effects played three times and Some forty one was there. Some forty one does a lot of yeah, yeah. Yeah, we love those guys. We opened for them, like not long ago, so we love Some forty one. See. I love how things are today because back in my day that wouldn't happen necessarily, like the Beastie Boys did it. Yeah, but that was it, you know, it was like otherwise even with me, I couldn't go to a punk show because I had long hair. You got your ass kicked if you went to a punk show with long hair, or went to a metal show with punk.

57 Right, I mean, Joe and I say at the time, how cool it is, especially this younger generation in music and listening. It's it's almost cooler to be a little like genre fluid now than it is to be stuck to like one thing, like I only listen to rap, I only listened to metal, right, It's so interesting to listen to everything now, and we appreciate that, especially with the music we make. You know, people are a lot more open minded now and they listen to a lot more like the music. Music is so much more accessible. So yeah, listen to so many different things and are just locked into one sort of genre. And you know that on it and somebody that went through it is you listen to other stuff. But you could never admit it. Ah, it was stupid. Like I interviewed Josie caught In a few times recently, and the first time she was like a big new waver in the eighties and I was a thrash metal head, so like, you're not allowed to listen. I said to her, im, like, yeah, I wasn't allowed to listen to your music, but I did like it.

50 I love some new wave. Come on now, I know right. Well, you know I think about it now. It's stupid because new wave is just really punk, but for some reason we thought it wasn't you know, back then, just stupid rules. I like how it is today, and to your point, I think music's better today because people in bands have different influences that come in instead. But you know there's other bands that there's this like algebraic equation. We must make the music just like this. Right to me, being an artist, it's about experimenting and not just sticking to That's why I said before I want to hear about the genre because I don't give a shit about genres. It's just a label to box you in. Artis shouldn't be boxed in. Do what you want right.

35 Totally couldn't agree more. Yeah, I mean you're the creatives. Let the business people do the business stuff and the creatives do the creative stuff. That's exactly right. We tell our management that all the time. Do they listen? They try? They do. So tell everybody how they can connect you on socials, on the web, get your merge. You got a cool merch store and all that. Kind of stuff, and bray, here we are right now. You can look that up and you'll find us. I promise you'll JBB sucks dot. I was gonna say, but they suck. I laughed so hard looking at that website, like every time I would ever go to it, Like it's a perfect website. Names, it's awesome. Yeah merch and like we got our tour it sold out, but I mean the tours there, uh yeah.

18 But you know we're just excited. Just gonna keep following along and you'll you'll be pleasantly surprised. Love with us, Keep with us, Joey, Voncent, Brad, just keep your eye out. And they have to or else they can't listen to my show anymore. Exactly. That's what I like to hear. Well, you guys rock. Thank you man. I love that you were here at Aftershock and thanks for being on the Adventures of pipe Man. Appreciate you. Thanks for having us appreciate it. Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Pipe Man on w for CUI Radio
